On May 4, 2012, Charlie Bridger's life changed forever. She watched the Battle of New York take place from the safety of her home, unlike the many people who lived in that city. The eighteen-year-old couldn't tear her eyes away from the screen as Earth's Mightiest Heroes battled the God of Mischief. And it was at that moment that she realized what she needed to do to make up for her past.

Charlie Bridger needed to become a hero.

Thanks to her father's connections with S.H.I.E.L.D., Charlie joined the agency's training program. She even dedicated herself to studying technology and engineering in case it was essential to a future mission. It wasn't long before Charlie got the opportunity to work with two of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s best agents, Clint Barton and Natasha Romanoff. Despite this, she still didn't get much experience outside the Helicarrier or Avengers Tower.

And Charlie wanted more than training within four walls.

Charlie's wish was soon answered when Tony Stark and Bruce Banner's experiment went wrong and a certain robot made its way into the world. She knew this was her chance to show her mentors she was ready to face the dangers of the world. This was her one opportunity to show everyone that being a hero was what she was meant to do.

Charlie just hoped she wasn't in way over her head.
