THE FOUR TEENAGERS HOPPED IN THE CAR AND STARTED DRIVING. The big problem, though, was that the street was filled with small children walking. They could barely move without almost hitting someone. Max groaned as he honked the horn. "Come on! Get out of the way! Move it!"
Somehow, they finally made it to the Sanderson home. Max and Wendy hopped out of the car while Freddy and Allison stayed so that they could be the getaway drivers if needed. They would probably want to get out of there as soon as the possibly could once they had Dani. The two brunettes burst open the door as soon as they reached the house to see Dani tied to a chair and the witches standing around her and a cauldron.
"Prepare to die! Again," Max exclaimed, arms at the ready like he was about to punch a freaking witch. Wendy stared at him in confusion, wondering if he did not remember the many times that Winifred had flung him down and around and everywhere using her powers.
"You!" Winifred shrieked as soon as the children entered. She stared menacingly at the two, but she seemed unconvinced that they could do any real harm. "You have no powers here, you fools!"
A voice caused them all to glance up, and the Addams girl was shocked to see none other than Jay and Ernie hanging in cages above them. "Hollywood!"
"Maybe not! But there's a power greater than your magic, and that's knowledge!" the Dennison boy exclaimed, and he sounded like a character from some cringy movie. "And there's one thing that I know that you don't!"
"That sounded so nerdy," Wendy groaned, causing him to shoot her a look saying that him sounding nerdy was not their biggest problem at that exact moment, especially when his sister was tied and gagged and about to be thrown in some potion.
Winifred, ignoring the girl's comment, raised her eyebrows at Max mockingly, still not thinking that he could do anything to stop them. "Ohh! And what is that, dude?"
"Daylight savings time," the boy answered, and that spread confused looks throughout the room.
The witches looked at each other in confusion, having never heard of such a phenomenon. Dani was bamboozled as well because it was definitely not daylight savings time yet. Winifred questioned with a sort of scoff, "Daylight savings time?"'
"Winnie!" Mary yelled, and she pointed to the window where a red light was beginning to shine through. The sisters began freaking out, thinking it was the sun. They screamed, and Wendy and Max smirked at each other, knowing that their plan had worked. "Aaah! Aaah! The sun! No!"
"'Don't worry, Binx! I've got you! I'm here!" Dani assured the cat as soon as her brother had untied her. She rushed over to a bag that was hanging over the fire and dumped out the cat.
He dropped to the ground and shook to hopefully cool himself down. "Aah! Hot! Hot cat! Hot cat!" They headed toward the door, but on their way, Max paused to tip over the cauldron. The potion spilled everywhere, and Wendy smiled, knowing that they would be unable to use it.
"Step on it, Freddy!" Max yelled as they dove into the car. The headlights were the 'sun.' Freddy started the car as soon as they were in, not even waiting for them to close the door.
"Pull over! Let me see your driver's permit," said a high-pitched voice, and they looked to the side to see the redheaded Sanderson flying next to them on her broom. Freddy swerved toward her slightly, causing her to back up a little bit, but she was back moments later. "Resisting arrest?"
Max reached out the window and jammed his elbow into her chest, sending her flying into the woods somewhere on the other side of the road. They all looked at him in shock for a moment before continuing their journey. They made it to the graveyard where they prayed they would be safe for a good little bit until the witches came looking for them, which would not be long.
They opened the door and started running deeper into the grounds, but they did not make it far before Max ran straight into a chest. He looked up, and his eyes widened when he realized that it was Billy. Dani shrieked, "Max!"
"No, wait, Dani!" Binx yelled, and Allison grabbed the girl before she could go sprinting into trouble.
Freddy patted both Allison and his sister on the arm before moving slowly toward Max. He told them, "You guys get Dani out of here. I'll help Max. We'll find you in a bit."
They nodded at him and ran further into the woods of the graveyard with the salt and the bag that they had full of possible weapons to use. There was a baseball bat, a couple daggers, and some wooden planks that could be of use if they really needed them. The girls' were shocked when the boys came running back with Billy chasing them.
"Max, run! Guys, come on, move! Move out of the way!" Allison yelled, and she ran toward the zombie with the baseball bat raised over her head, heady to strike.
Max jumped to stop her before she could cause him any harm, even though she probably could not have done much to a freaking zombie. "Wait, wait! Wait! Wait! No! No. No. He's a good zombie."
"Call me the undead, because my heart stopped the second you walked in the room," Freddy flirted.
Sick of the dilly-dallying, Billy grabbed the young girl and dropped her into the grave that he had climbed out of the evening before so that the witches would not be able to get low enough the grab her...hopefully. "All right then. In we go."
"Ahh. Here they come! Billy, guard Dani! Max, Allison, Wendy, Freddy, spread out!" Binx yelled when the witches arrived moments later. Max and Freddy had been practicing with the bat and daggers while Allison comforted Dani and Wendy spread salt around the grave.
"For the last time, prepare to meet thy doom!" Winifred announced as she flew over to them. She stared at Max with cold eyes, not impressed by the trickery he pulled earlier and the time at the very beginning of the night when he tricked them into thinking he had the Burning Flame of Death. "You little pest. I've had enough of you."
She flicked her wrist, and the boy went flying into the shrubbery. Wendy ran over to him to help him up. Allison and Freddy were preoccupied with Mary and Sarah, and by the time that the Dennison boy and the Addams girl got back, their eyes widened when they got back and noticed that Dani was not in her hole. They heard a scream from above, and they looked up to see the young blonde in the arms of the lead Sanderson. "Max!"
"Why couldn't she stay in her hole?" Wendy groaned out when she saw what was happening.
"All right, you little trollymog. This'll teach ya to call people ugly! Open your mouth! Open your mouth, I say!" Winifred ordered as she held the screaming girl. She had a vial in her hand, and she was trying to force the liquid, assumingly what was left of the potion, down her throat. Binx rushed over to a tree, scaling it quickly before jumping onto the witch's hand and knocking the glass out of her hands so that it landed in Max's. She cursed, "Confound you! Give me that vial!"
"Put her down or I'll smash it!" Max threatened, holding it up like he was ready to throw it toward the ground.
Winifred, knowing that she needed to get that vial no matter what, decided that maybe giving Dani up was more important than having the vial. Then again, if she did not get what she wanted, it did not really make sense for them to get what they wanted. "Smash it and she dies!"
"Max! No! Max, no!" Wendy yelled when she noticed something happen in Max's eyes. An idea seemed to pop up in his brain, and she really did not like the look of it. By the look on his face, it would most likely not end well for them. He hesitated for a moment before bringing the bottle to his lips and downing the liquid inside of it.
"Now you have no choice!" he pointed out as he dropped the glass so that it shattered. They all stared at him in shock, not believing what he had just done. "You have to take me."
Winifred sneered as she lowered herself toward the ground. She dropped Dani roughly as she muttered to the boy in front of her. "What a fool to give up thy life for thy sister's."
She seized him and went up into the air again. As Allison, Freddy, and Billy ran to check on Dani, Wendy sprinted to where Max was being lifted. She jumped and tried to grab his foot and pull him down, but it was no use. He was too high up. The potion seemed to be sucking the life and the light out of him, and he was turning translucent as Winifred breathed him in. That was until he was able to shake the broom so that she fumbled slightly.
"Hallowed ground! Hallowed ground! Sisters!" she screeched when she realized that she would be done for if she touched the ground. Mary rushed to help her sister, but she was flying on a vacuum instead of a broom, so she was pretty slow. Another disadvantage for her was that she had a plug trailing behind her. The group standing with Dani all grabbed ahold of that plug and used it to keep Mary from getting to her sister. Winifred regained her balance slightly and continued where she left off with Max as Wendy shouted desperately beneath them. The redheaded woman told him, "I'm going to teach you a lesson you'll never forget!"
All of a sudden, she was knocked off her broomstick. Max's eyes flew to the brunette girl below him that was holding the daggers in her hand. One had landed right in Winifred's arm. Unfortunately, this caused him to lose control of the broomstick, and he went flying as well. They both landed in the grass a couple of yards away, and the Addams girl slid to his side when she noticed that he was unconscious.
Freddy, Allison, Dani, and Billy had somehow sent both of the other sisters spinning into the distance, and they all let out a relieved sigh when they saw that the sun was coming up. Max stirred, and he finally sat up. He looked up at the beautiful girl above him with a smile as she chuckled of joy, but those expressions were quickly wiped off their faces when Winifred stood up.
She quickly advanced toward them, and both of the teenagers backed up quickly on their hands, still in the crouching position. They paused, however, when they noticed that she had. She had a strange expression on her face, and her feet seemed to be frozen in place. A small amount of smoke billowed from the ground as she called one final word, "Book!"
And then she turned to stone.
They stared in shock as the sun cast a light over the graveyard, signaling that morning had come finally. Sarah and Mary, in the distance, burst into clouds of purple and red glitter when the sun landed on them, and finally, the statue of Winifred standing right in front of them exploded with a loud pop. Bright green glitter spread everywhere as they realized that they had won. The witches were dead.Β
