IT HAD been a few weeks, Jenessa was getting along with all the girls. Minus one specific blonde of course, and practices had finally started up last week.

"So Nik, what do you think Geno's gonna make us do today?" JJ asked, the two girls had been attached at the hip lately. "Hmm, I heard Q and Aaliyah talking about partner drills or something like that." The Croatian girl shrugged, fiddling with the strap of her backpack.

"Thats either going to be fun, or literal hell." Jenessa sighed and the two burst into laughing fit, they entered the gym and calmed down, heading for the locker room.

They were fifteen minutes early, so they'd have time to put on their shoes and chat a bit. When they walked in, KK and Ashlynn were goofing off. Aaliyah, Ice and Ines were talking by their lockers.

Jenessa placed her backpack down on a bench, pulling out her white and navy blue shoes, along with a white shooting sleeve. She plopped down, slid her uggs off and began tying up her laces.

"Yoo, Nika! I feel like I havent seen you in a fat minute." Paiges voice rang out throughout the locker room as she came out from the bathrooms. Jenessa popped her head up for a second and saw the tall blonde in nothing but a sports bra and her basketball shorts. Her eyes widened, cheeks flushed red and she quickly turned her attention back to her laces.

"P, I saw you like two days ago." Nika laughed. "Two days too many twin." Paige threw an arm around the brunettes shoulders. "Yeah, yeah. Put a shirt on." She joked, playfully shrugging off her friend's arm then wandering over to her locker.

"Like you dont love whatchu see." Paige winked then threw on her practice jersey. Jenessa finished up tying her shoes then went to the mirror to fix her ponytail, tightening it. "JJ! COME MAKE THIS TIKTOK WITH ME!" KK yelled out. "Boo, we gotta head out in like 5 so Mr. Coach man doesn't make us run suicides." Jenessa waved off the energetic girl.

"ALRIGHT! We're going to start with three laps around the gym, then get into stretching. We'll be doing a lot of defence and offence work today so you all need to be warmed up." Geno yelled out to the team, they all groaned but quickly got to circling the gym.

Once they finished, they all circled up and began stretching. "So JJ, how are you liking it here so far?" Ines asked with a smile, everyone's attention turned to the girl as she stretched out her hamstring. "Well, honestly I am loving it, Iowas great- don't get me wrong. But I feel more at home here." Jenessa shrugged. "Awwwh we love you too Nessa." KK snuggled up to the girl and she laughed, hugging her back before pushing her off gently so she could sit down on the floor and finish stretching.

"Is it weird being on the court without Clark?" Q piped up. "Yeah, definitely. But i'm getting used to it, and the media needs to know I exist outside of Caitlin." Jenessa rolled her eyes, remembering how she saw many headlines talking about how moving to Uconn was a mistake and JJ's career would tank as shes nothing without Clark.

"You were amazing before you even met her though, I don't understand where they got that from!" Ines said, clearly confused. "Not sure, I mean Caitlins a beast, always has been. But I am and was my own person with my own skills, all she did was push me to be better and I did the same with her." Jenessa said, smiling as she thought about her best friend.

Paige sat, on the opposite side of the circle, listening in to the conversation. Silently agreeing with everyone praising Jenessa.

For the rest of practice, Geno pushed the team. Pairing up two girls to guard each other, tough match ups as well. Jenessa and Paige being each others partners, the two didnt speak much, other then the occasional scoff if one stole the ball from the other or stopped a shot.

Nika had passed Jenessa the ball, and she was looking for a way around her. Paige waving her hands in front of her face, the shorter brunette passed the ball between her legs then faked going left, to quickly pivot and head right. Paige reacted and stuck to her like glue.

KK yelled out that she was open, but Jenessa was so zoned into getting past Paige she didn't even hear her. She moved her feet swiftly, trying to confuse the blonde, turning, taking steps in opposite directions until Paige thought she was heading right and took a step, beginning to fall as Jenessa spun to the left, lightly bumping her shoulder on accident and Paige went down. JJ laughed and shot a three, it easily swooping through the net.

"You pushed me, that'd be called a foul and it wouldn't count." Paige shot at the girl as she pushed herself off the floor. "Oh shut up I barely even grazed you, and I didn't mean too." Jenessa rolled her eyes and scoffed, beginning to guard Paige as she was now on defence. "Watch it Jayde." Paige said as she ran around the girl, ramming into her shoulder in the process.

Jenessa trailed behind and pushed Paige's back. "Fuck you think you're doing?" The blonde whipped around, stepping towards Jenessa, their faces inches apart as Paiges hard stare looked down at the brunette.

"BREAK IT UP. YOU'RE TEAMMATES." Geno screamed at them. "Not right now we aren't." Paige mouthed off, causing Geno to slam his clipboard on the ground. Making everyone stop and look at them.

"Thats it! Both of you, out. And don't think of coming back unless you figure your shit out." He said in an eerily calm tone. The two girls scoffed at each other before heading to the locker room.

"Nice going Bueckers!" Jenessa sassed as they entered. "That was all you!" The two argued back and forth for about 10 minutes before they both got too heated and just stopped acknowledging the other in general.

"Listen, we need to at least chill out. Or neither of us are seeing any minutes this season." JJ quietly spoke, not bothering to look over at Paige.

"Fine. Truce?" "Truce."

The two went back out with smiles on their faces, pretending to laugh together. The team all rose their eyebrows in shock at the sight. Geno gave a slight nod, seemingly impressed.
