JENESSA COULDNT help but laugh at Paiges comments under her post, however the undeniable feeling of confusion mixed with her being flustered had JJ extremely lost. Why would Paige be commenting like that? Was it to keep up the facade that the two were friends?

But Jenessa knew Paige had never commented under her posts before, other than back in the day when the two were close.

Before JJ could spiral too deep, her phone began ringing, Caitlins profile popping up on her phone. "Hey babe, whats up?" Jenessa asked as the FaceTime connected.

"Whats up? What do you mean whats up? Paige mother fucking Bueckers in your comment section is whats up?" Caitlin blurted out, obviously very lost on the situation. "I have no idea Cait, im just as clueless as you honestly." Jenessa shrugged, propping her phone up on her desk and she was reading through a textbook.

"You promise? Because I just want to know if you and Paige are a thing again, I wont be mad. I- I just worry about you Nessa. I wont be able to see you hurt like you were again." Caitlin sighed, resting her chin on her hand.

"I promise, theres nothing going on and if there was, I would tell you. Paige literally had some short cheerleader over a week ago named Ashley." Jenessa shivered thinking about it, doing a gagging hand motion causing Caitlin to laugh.

"Do you want something to happen between you too? You dont seem to be very happy about this Ashley chick." The Iowa player teased, watching as the younger brunette immediately became flustered and embarrassed, flipping off Caitlin.

"No! I dont give a fuck about Ashley." Jenessa said, making her voice high pitched and bitchy sounding when saying the girls name.

"You know she actually gave me a dirty look when leaving the dorm room, like fun fact- I taught your girl everything she was doing to you so suck my dick. Oh! And! I live here too? Like I didn't mean to interrupt whatever they were up too in there- I just literally live here, and am allowed to come and go as I please." Jenessa ranted, not even bothering to be quiet even though Paige was just a room away because she was so aggravated by the interaction.

Caitlin bursted out laughing at her best friend's fury. "Hey- Babe. Ever thought that maybe you're so angry about it because you're jealous?" Clark suggested, biting her lip to keep from laughing. "Oh fuck off Cait." Jenessa rolled her eyes.

"Seriously! You are a kind, loving person, you usually don't let shit like this under your skin." JJ stuck her tongue out at the girl in response.

The two girls spoke on the phone for about 30 more minutes until Jenessa hung up to get ready for practice. "Yo, you wanna ride with me to the gym?" Paige asked once the brunette stepped out of her room, startled, she stepped back and tripped over the blanket basket.

Jenessa began to fall backwards, shutting her eyes and bracing for impact but instead, feeling a pair of strong arms wrap securely around her waist. JJ slowly opened her eyes as Paige lifted her up so she was steady on her feet. The two staring into each other's eyes as the brunette looked up, Paiges tall frame towering over her 5'7 one.

"I- um- thanks." Jenessa blushed, her words coming out jumbled. "No problem." The blonde said, her arms still around JJ loosely. Neither of them wanting to move, in fact a bit afraid to move.

Paiges arms around Jenessa was a foreign feeling, one she never imagined she'd feel again. Memories rushed back, sending shivers down her spine and a tingling sensation where the taller girls arms and hands were placed. JJ's hand moved on its own, practically muscle memory, slowly placing it on Paiges left bicep.

Jenessa heard the blondes breath hitch, and her cheeks go pink. Suddenly feeling amused, and quite cocky, JJ placed a hand on Paiges chest. Before gently pushing her away, her hand running across the girls chest and dropping as she walked away.

"You coming Bueckers?" She asked, not bothering to look back knowing Paige was following like a lost puppy.

Practice went by quickly, the team was working their asses off as their first game felt to be approaching faster and faster. It was currently the beginning of October, and they had a game against Dayton on November 8th.

"Alright girls, this team really seems to be getting into a rhythm now. Im impressed, and beyond excited. You all have been working hard, keep it up and I know we'll have no problem this season." Geno said, everyone huddled around him with smiles on their faces.

"Dismissed, make sure to keep up with your classes! Education is important!" He yelled as they all ran off into the locker room giggling as soon as he mentioned classes.

"Speaking of which, my health science class is kicking my ass right now." Jenessa groaned as she sat down on the bench in front of her locker. Nika settling down beside her. "Hey, im sure you're doing fine." She smiled reassuringly.

"Tell that to my missing assignment and three outgoing ones. Im doing the best I can but it doesn't feel like enough." She replied while kicking off her basketball shoes. "Im falling behind too, we all have troubles adjusting at the beginning of the season but we'll get into a groove soon, trust me." Nika rubbed Jenessa's shoulder.

"I sure hope so, this basketball program is amazing but so intense, honestly where do they expect us to find time for school." JJ laughed, trying to ease the nerves in her veins.

"Gotta become vampires honestly, first term equals no sleep." Aaliyah butt in, overhearing their conversation. "Literally! Why do all the professors dump LOADS of assignments and homework on us so quickly. Let us live for a second man" KK groaned, agreeing with her teammates and friends.

The group all collectively began complaining about school work and teachers as they undressed from their sweaty practices gear. Jenessa throwing on her sweatpants over top of her shorts, feeling lazy. She peeled off her jersey and stuck on her huskies crewneck, Jayde prominently displayed on the back along with the number 8 embroidered on the arm.

Suddenly remembering she caught a ride with Paige to the gym, her eyes searched the locker room, unable to see the tall blonde. "Wheres Paige?" She asked to no one in particular.

"I think I saw her leave, might be in the parking lot already?" Ines answered as she took out her tight ponytail, switching it into a loose bun. "Weird, okay. See you guys!" JJ yelled and blew a kiss to everyone as she exited.

When she walked out of the gym, the crisp wind caught her off guard. Immediately wrapping her arms around herself as she looked around for Paiges car, spotting it parked a bit up ahead and turned on. She jogged towards it, heavy backpack flopping up and down every time she stepped.

Jenessa went up to the window and was surprised to see Ashley sitting in the passenger seat. JJ and Paige making eye contact before Ashley looked up, the brunette scoffed and rolled her eyes before turning around and heading back to the gym.

She sat out front, waiting for Nika to come out. "JJ? Whatchu still doing here?" The Croatian girl asked, KK trailing behind her.

"Well, Paige gave me a ride here and when I went to go find her, I found a certain cheerleader in the passenger seat." Jenessa crossed her arms, clearly unimpressed with the situation.

"What a dick move, come with me and KK." Nika immediately offered, and JJ gave her a thankful smile, following the two.

Once in the car, the three began conversing easily. Faint rap playing from the speakers. "Hey Nik, I dont really want to be in the dorm if Paige is going to be fucking that chick all night." Jenessa scratched her neck awkwardly, wanting to physically shrink into a ball.

"No, no of course you can sleep in my dorm. Im sure Ines wouldn't mind, she loves you and we can have a girls night!" Nika smiled brightly, Jenessa letting out a sigh of relief at her answer. "Thank you, really."

Jenessa, Nika and Ines were all sprawled out in Ines's room. A bag of chips and bowl of popcorn propped up on the bed as they were watching a movie. And face masks Jenessa applied on all three of them.

"I love your room Ines, its so cute." JJ spoke up, looking around. "Awhh, thank you, it's a bit messy right now though." Ines blushed as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. Jenessa giggled and waved her off, unbothered by a little mess.

"Elle is literally my icon." Nika pointed at the blonde girl dressed all pink on the screen, they were currently watching the court room scene. "I know right, and her lil puppy Bruiser?? SO cute." JJ's face light up, thinking of dogs.

"You're a dog person?" Ines questioned. "Why do you look so shocked." Jenessa laughed loudly at Ines's astonished face. "You just seem like a cat person is all." The girl smiled lightly, her braces showing.

"I mean, I definitely prefer me some pussy-" Jenessa started before Nika slapped her arm and Ines said "WOAAAH" All three girls bursting into a laughter fit.

"God- I better get a six pack from this." JJ whined, her abs in pain. The other two nodding their heads in agreement.

Later on, they washed off the face masks and all shifted around in the bed for a while before getting comfortable.

JJ's legs were on top of Nikas lap, and her head propped up against Ines's shoulder. Nika had two pillows underneath her head and a teddy bear between her arms. Ines was by the wall, one knee bent and pressed against the cold smooth surface. Her arm loosely around Jenessa.

It was definitely a weird sight, all three girls tangled up but they didn't care, they were comfortable. Quickly falling asleep after Ines shut off her LEDs, a boring movie they put on after Legally Blonde ended quickly knocked them out.
