JENESSA GROGGILY woke up, barely remembering last nights events. She groaned and rolled onto her side, seeing a glass of water and advil on her desk. Confusion showed on her face before she shrugged and took the meds.

She opened her phone, the light making her squint as her room was currently dark. Checking her notifications quickly, she saw a text from Nika asking if she wanted to go to target together.

Jenessa realized she needed some more decorations for her bedroom, it was quite plain still. She peeked through her blinds and saw the sun was shining. Wandering out of her room and into the bathroom, JJ brushed her teeth, washed her face, and brushed her hair. She heard movement from behind, and turned to see Paige standing there awkwardly.

The blondes hair was messy and loosely tied back, delicate skin slightly puffy, her clothes hanging off her body. Paiges sweatpants were low, boxer band showing and the same white wife beater from the previous night was slightly twisted. "You look rough." Jenessa laughed at the girls ensemble.

"How nice of you, considering the only reason you're living right now is because I put meds and water on your bedside table." Paige rolled her eyes, shoving herself into the bathroom. "That was you? I thought I drunkenly did that..." The brunette said, a frown prominent on her face. "Nope, that was me." Paige grabbed her toothbrush and began brushing her teeth. Jenessa then felt out of place and left the bathroom.

She threw on a pair of blue jean overalls and a tiny white tube top, along with her white adidas's. Finishing off her look with silver jewelry and a tote bag. She texted Nika she was ready and the two were going to meet up in five minutes. They didnt have basketball practice for another 2 days so Jenessa was going to take the rest of the day to do homework once they were done shopping.

The car ride to target was full of loud, blasting music and the two girls singing their hearts out.

"I GOT A POCKET, GOT A POCKET FULL OF SUNSHINE!" Nika yelled, a huge smile on her face. "I GOT A LOVE AND I KNOW THAT ITS ALL MINE!" Jenessa yelled back.

"DO WHAT YOU WANT BUT YOU'RE NEVER GONNA BREAK ME-" "STICKS AND STONES ARE NEVER GONNA SHAKE ME OH, OH-OH!" They sung the lyrics taking turns.

"TAKE ME AWAY, A SECRET PLACE, A SWEET ESCAPE, TAKE ME AWAYY, TAKE ME AWAYYY!" Nika and Jenessa sung together, laughing as the chorus ended. They pulled into the target parking lot, and both got out, practically skipping into the store.

"I love target." JJ bumped Nikas shoulder. "Me too, maybe a bit too much.." Nika responded, the two girls giggling. After what felt like hours of getting caught up in the store, they finally left with two huge bags each.

"If I keep hanging out with you, im going to go broke." Jenessa joked, and Nika nodded. "So, lunch date?" Nika asked with a cheeky smile and JJ couldn't help but agree.

The two went to a small Italian restaurant, Jenessa ordering fettuccine alfredo and Nika spaghetti and meatballs. "Should we get a garlic bread basket to share?" "Duh." JJ replied while fixing her overall strap.

"Oh I never told you but i'm obsessed with the fit today!" Nika complimented and Jenessa smiled widely at her. "Thank you! The overalls are Levi's if you want a pair." She explained before taking a sip of her iced tea.

The two's food arrived and they absolutely devoured it, gossiping as they ate. "So that boy last night huh?" Nika teased. "Ugh, dont remind me.." Jenessa physically cringed, groaning as she remembered. "He was cute!" She smiled. "Yeah, but i'm more into women. Men are kind of just my play toys- in a non horrible way." Jenessa explained, trying to not make herself sound like a jerk.

"I didn't know you swung that way?" Nika said, surprised. "Cut the act babe, I know Paige told you the whole story." She giggled as Nikas face went pale.

"Yeah..she did. Nessa, I know you probably don't want to hear it but she regrets it, and is sorry for what happened." The Croatian girl tucked a piece of hair behind her ear as she spoke. "Then why hasn't she said so herself?" JJ rolled her eyes. "Because shes stubborn, and i've tried to get her to apologize, because I know she wants to- but Paige lets her pride get in the way." Nika sighed.

"Whatever, I'm not going to act like everything is good between us until she stands the fuck up and apologizes. I didn't deserve to be treated the way she treated me." Jenessa stated, leaning back in her chair. "I know, I know." Nika nodded.

The two girls eventually finished and paid then headed back to the dorms. "I had fun today!" JJ smiled as they entered the elevator. "Me too, but I've got a mountain of homework to do." Nika shuddered, feeling defeated by her classes.

"Same here- hey, what if you came over and we could do our shit together. Might give us more motivation?" Jenessa suggested, Nika perked up and nodded.

JJ entered her dorm alone, Nika had gone to go get all her stuff. "Paige?" She called out, and heard a muffled voice come from the blondes room.

"Yeah?" Paige peeked through her door, clearly out of breath, cheeks rosy. "Nika's coming over, we're going to do homework probably out here in the living room, just so you know." Jenessa said suspiciously raising a brow at the taller girl. "Okay." Paige replied before shutting her door.

JJ shook her head, confused but waving it off. She grabbed her books and laptop, before plopping down on the couch and throwing a blanket over top of her legs that were stretched out onto the coffee table. The brunette reached and grabbed the remote, turning on 10 things I hate about you. A movie she'd watched a million times, but loved dearly. Jenessa always turned it on when she wanted something in the background but not be fully focused on it.

After a bit, her favourite Croatian walked through the door, holding similar things to what Jenessa had grabbed. "I see you changed." She laughed. "Of course, I don't wanna do this work anyways, let alone in jeans and a crop top." Nika sat down on the other edge of the couch, putting her knees up and opening her laptop. "Well now that you've mentioned it I want to change too. One sec!" JJ said, jumping off the couch and beginning to strip off her overalls before even getting into her room.

The girl threw on some low waisted, wide legged grey sweatpants. Keeping her tiny tube top on, she was about to exit but remembered to grab her blue light glasses, placing them on her face. "Okay, ready to lock in?" JJ spoke as she walked back into the living room. "Ugh, I guess." Nika whined. "Cute glasses by the way."

They both got comfy, and began working on their many assignments. After about an hour, they looked up, hearing Paiges door open. What neither expected was a short ginger girl to walk out in front of Paige.

"See ya Ashley." Paige mumbled as the cheerleader exited the dorm room. Nika had her eyebrows raised. "Ashley? Really."

"Oh whatever Nik." The blonde rolled her eyes, grabbing a cup out of the cupboard and filling it with water. "Thought you said she was annoying?" Nika pushed, Jenessa stayed silent, trying to shake the jealous feeling deep in her stomach.

"Yeah well things change, what can I say? Her head game good." Paige shrugged nonchalantly. "Okay- too much information." Nika cringed. Paige joined the two on the couch, grabbing the remote and turning off 10 things I hate about you for some TV show.

"Hey!" Jenessa shot, glaring at the girl. "What?" Paige asked cluelessly. "We were watching that." Nika added. "Not really, you're both nose deep in your laptops, let me watch my show." The blonde shook her head.

"You have a TV in your room." Nika stated, clearly realizing she just wanted to bug the two. "Ok and?" Paige replied, a smirk on her face.

"It's fine Nik, whatever." JJ huffed, turning her attention back to her laptop.

For the next 2 hours, the three girls all existed in the same room, but not speaking much. A few conversations between Nika and Paige or Nika and Jenessa, but Paige and Jenessa refused to really acknowledge each other. As time went on, JJ's laptop slowly began sliding off her lap and her head tilted onto the back of the couch, she had fallen asleep.

Nika quietly giggled when she noticed, snapping a picture of the sleeping girl. Paige was clueless until she looked over at JJ, the sight tugging on her heart strings.

"Paige, you've got to say something." Nika whispered, noticing how the blondes cheeks tinted pink and small smile formed on her lips while staring at Jenessa. "Like what, I'm sorry for fucking you then saying horrible things and dropping you? I don't deserve to be forgiven. I messed up, bad Nik." Paige sighed, leaning back on the couch.

"I mean god, I do everything I can to piss her off just so she'll look at me, talk to me, having her so close to me but not even sparing me a glance makes me feel like I cant breathe. I thought- I thought I was over her Nika." She groaned, continuing to fight the battle in her head.

"Listen Paige, I see the way she looks at you when you aren't facing her, I can tell that she still loves you. Despite what you said and did. And you're so fucking lucky for that, shes an amazing girl. Jenessa is too pure for this world, she told me herself that she just wants you to apologize and talk it out." The brunette explained, trying to comfort her friend.

"I cant bring myself to do it, I can barely think about what I did to her- let alone speak about it, especially to her. I want to apologize. Not a day goes by where I don't think about her or what I did to her..." Paige frowned, her hand moving on its own as it gently reached up and brushed JJ's hair out of her face.

"You love her, she loves you. All you two need to do is talk about it, no matter how hard it is." Nika spoke, making Paige turn her attention away from Jenessa. "I-I dont want to hurt her again Nik." Paiges words came out choked, as she felt tears form in her eyes.

"And you wont Paige."
