Friendship

Students talked and giggled as they walked through the corridors of the school. Warm rays of sunshine entered through the glass windows as they painted the entire school with a warm feeling, as if welcoming everyone to a new day. Trees swayed to the gentle breeze that was blowing outside. The day seemed perfect but amidst all the smiles and warmth, a boy hung his head low as he walked quietly through the chattering corridors.

His eyes seemed distant as if he was floating in a world of his own, the world around him bothered him no more as his thoughts pained his mind with hues and colors.

As he entered his classroom, the benches were empty as the lone boy went up to his seat and rested his head on the table's surface as worries and thoughts flooded his mind, clouding it. A heavy sigh left his lips and he turned his head to the side, letting the warm sunlight hit against his smooth skin as he relished it's warmth.

"I left that boy alone in my room. Will he be fine?" Between all his thoughts, his worries found way to his lips as they escaped.

Jungkook had left Jimin alone in his dorm room, and as he had no roommate or rather, no one wanted to be his roommate, it was no problem. But the boy couldn't help but worry about leaving Jimin alone.

Soon, the bell rang, indicating the starting of class. Students entered the classroom one by one and soon the teacher entered. Greeting the teacher good morning, everyone sat down in their respective seats as the teacher started with their attendance.

One after one, names were called with each student responding in various ways. Some seemed enthusiastic while others were barely awake, their eyes almost closing due to the heavy weight of drowsiness overshadowing their thoughts.

With almost half of the names of the class being called out, soon Jungkook's name was called. But a response? Not heard.

Jungkook's mind wandered around in fantasies as his eyes traced the warm and fluffy clouds floating in the sky. White patches in the blue that lasted as far as the land stretched. He wished to be as free as them but it was just another dream. Just as the boy had completely slipped past reality, a loud banging brought him back.

"Jeon Jungkook!" A book landed on his table causing the boy to sit up straight as a loud reply left his lips.

"Yes Ma'am!" A sigh left the lips of the teacher as she just shook her head.

"Stop daydreaming and focus on what's going on around you." Jungkook nodded softly as the teacher walked away, continuing with her work.

"What an amazing way to start the day..." Huffing, Jungkook's eyes again wandered to the clouds but now there were oddly none found. It was just an everlasting blue that met the eye.

A small chuckle escaped his silent lips. Closing his eyes, he hung his head low with numerous thoughts dancing around in his mind.

'Seems like the clouds left me too. The irony.'

Overthinking was something the boy did quite often. And sometimes to such an extent that it would ruin his mood completely.

Bell after bell rang with each moment slipping past his consciousness. His thoughts formed streaks of colors which painted his blank mind with various hues of grey and black. Not vibrant but monotonous.

Colors are numerous with some dark and some vibrant. His colors weren't those that attracted others but rather something that was there but always went unnoticed. Much like his existence.

His day went by with not many events occurring except for when lunch time came by.

His head still hung low, he walked past the lively smiles and laughs that resonated through the walls of the corridor. Students rushing out to the playground while a few talked to others with smiles.

Not interacting with those around, Jungkook silently entered the washroom. Turning the faucet up, water flowed down as he splashed it on his face. A cool sensation coming forth where the water came in contact with his skin. Looking up at the mirror in front, he dried his hands and just as he was going to walk out a hand stopped him.

"Jungkook..." A deep voice spoke up from beside Jungkook.

Not even glancing at him, Jungkook attempted in walking away but was stopped yet again.

"What do you want..." Finally speaking up, Jungkook turned to face the person. "...Taehyung..."

"Look. I'm sorry. I didn't mean that to happen, I didn't understand the consequences of my actions." A pained expression came over Jungkook's features as he quickly looked down.

"The happenings and incidents in my life are my troubles. You have nothing to do with them."

"I know after what happened you don't want anything to do with me but please listen! As your friend, I'm concerned about you."

Memories flashed through Jungkook's mind with him struggling to stop them. His hands trembled as he raised them to grab Taehyung's collar.

"Friends don't leave you when you need them the most." Jungkook's eyes showed pure hatred as he pushed Taehyung away and stomped out of the washroom.

Taehyung just stood there, his head hung low. A heavy burden rested on his chest as soft whispers left his lips.

"I'm sorry... I really am."

Sometimes the pain that is inflicted on others by us is not forgivable. Words that leave our lips are forever gone and can't be taken back. Physical wounds heal but wounds of the heart are incurable.

Words can be your saviour but if used carelessly can cut deep into your soul.
