THE CHAOS GOT EVEN WORSE WHEN THEY GATHERED IN THE IMPERIAL SPACESHIP, INCLUDING THE COUPLE, THE EMPEROR, ALONG WITH THE PRINCESS IRULAN, and various leaders from the Great Houses. The gathering took place after (Y/N) and Paul's victory over the Harkonnens and his claim to the throne.

She ignored the voices of everyone around her, and instead walked along side Paul, to where the open gap in the room was, to see what was happening outside as the sun came up for the second time over the planet.

"Warships." Stilgar spoke up from behind the girl, causing her head to turn and saw him pointing at the crafts in the sky that were creating such loud sounds.

He had blood and dirt on his face from the fighting he did, and she was reassured to see him unharmed during it all when they embraced prior.

Paul nodded his head in agreement, an arm wrapped around her waist to pull her flushed against his side, and glanced down at her instead of the blazing skies, "The Great Houses." He confirmed in his raspy voice knowing what it meant, "Gurney, it's time. Bring the prisoners."

"My lord." He bowed to him, giving (Y/N) a fatherly look of comfort before turning away to do as he was ordered. And at the same time, Stilgar speaks in Chakobsa to his people, telling them what was happening also.

They all drifted away from the soon to be married couple, leaving them to bath in the morning light of Arrakis. She leant the side of her head against his shoulder, and felt someone watching her from behind, making her eyes flicker to see who it was.

Chani, who was standing in the crowd of her people was the one she made eye contact with. (Y/N) brightened up more upon noticing her, a smile creeping up at the corner of her lips, but Chani just frowned sadly and glanced away with trembling hands, confusing the other girl who felt her heart clench in pain.

That was until the hand on her waist suddenly squeezed her side softly, gaining her attention back to Paul now. She glanced up at him next, trying to ignore how Chani hurt her and felt him leaning closer to her, his forehead gently being placed against hers.

"I want you to know..." He started off in a soft, raspy whisper, his nose brushing up against hers as he cradled her to his chest tightly, "I will love you as long as I breathe-- even after that. I love you more then anything, nothing will change that."

She furrowed her brows, wondering what brought on the sudden confession, but also wasn't complaining.

She nuzzled her nose back into his, and cradled his cheek in her bare palm, fingers brushing back some of his curls whispering, "The feeling is mutual, Paul. My love for you is endless, and it won't ever stop. Never."

His parted lips brushed against hers, about to close the gap between them, but the sound of the doors opening caused the couple to break apart instantly, but still kept their hands and holds on each other.

Gurney had walked through the doors with the prisoners, and the Emperor was the first to talk as he strolled into the packed room, "There is a massed armada in orbit. You're facing a full invasion, Fremen."

(Y/N) felt Paul's hands on her tighten, as he brushed his lips against her temple before moving from her and walked forward to meet the Emperor in the middle.

"How can you be so sure the Great Houses are here for me?" He began to speak loudly, silence settling over the room, "They may be curious to hear our side of the story, don't you think?"

She followed behind him which prompted him to add 'our', and she held onto her staff tightly in case anyone wanted to attack. Her eyes made contact with Jessica in the crowd, and the mother sent a single head nod, making (Y/N) more assured with what she was doing.

The Fremen crowed around them as Paul continued to speak to the Emperor, "I am Paul Atreides, son of Leto Atreides, Duke of Arrakis." His voice raised higher, louder, more in his Duke tone now, "Gurney. Send a warning to all ships. If the Great Houses attack, our atomics will obliterate all spice fields."

Gurney went to do what was asked again, and Paul's words made some of the crowd behind the Emperor began to murmurer at his statement. Shaddam was the only one to voice it out loud however, "You're out of your mind."

"They're bluffing." Feyd rumbled from behind the Emperor, his curious eyes still trained on (Y/N) as a smirk crossed his features, one that had Paul clenching his jaw at the attention from him on his wife.

"Consider what you're about to do, (Y/N) and Paul Atreides." The Reverend Mother, the same one they saw the couple didn't know any better, now spoke quickly from her spot with the rest of her group.

Yet, that was shut down just as fast as it happened. (Y/N) slammed the bottom of her staff onto the floor, causing a large gust of wind to fly out and knock Mohiam off balance, followed by Paul's distorted tone of using the Voice, "Silence!"

Reverend Mother Mohiam gasped in a strangled away, her figure almost falling to the ground if it weren't for the others around to catch her. She shudders and breathes heavily like she had been choked, staring at the powerful couple in horror at what they had become, whispering, "World destroyer. Abomination."

The (H/C) haired girl bared her teeth at the older woman, her eyes serious, and had a dangerous glint in them as the air suddenly got thinner around where Mohiam was breathing.

"Watch your tone, Mother." She sneered watching her struggle to breathe again, "Other wise I'll personally see to it that you never speak again."

With a single touch from Paul's hand grazing her side, she snapped out of her murderous rage, and dropped the invisible hold she had on Mohiam, hearing the latter coughing and gasping. She turned to her husband, who gave her hand a single squeeze of comfort that calmed her down.

"As servants of the Imperium, you will bow at my feet."

Upon hearing what Shaddam had to say, Paul's eyes widen with rage and the fire in his chest burnt more knowing the Emperor was talking about his wife also.

"Your feet? You'll be luck to keep your head!" His voice was just as angry with how he felt, his rage threatening to destroy everything if he didn't calm himself, "Not only are you disrespecting me, but my wife also! You'll lose your tongue if I hear you say another word about her."

(Y/N) always loved when Paul got so protective over her, and this wasn't any different. She ignores the warmth burning in her lower stomach, and steps forward to the Princess.

It made the guards tense up but showed no move to interfere, "Your daughter will become my concubine, my lady in waiting. She will remain safe under my care, and my husbands. That is what I can offer you."

Irulan's face shifted from the tensed frown she had on, to a calmer expression but the confused one still lingered. She didn't open her mouth to protest, nor say anything as she knew that it was best to follow and listen considering the circumstances.

The crowd began to chatter after her bold statement, and somewhere in the crowd Chani felt her heart break into pieces. Not for Paul, not for the princess, or what had just been said, her heart was hurting for the sake of (Y/N) and what it now meant for her.

All she wanted was the girl to be free and back where she belonged, not stuck in a proposal like that.

"But you..." (Y/N) started her speech up again, hair framing her face as she tilts her head towards the Emperor, voice lethal but gentle that made the room even more tense from her aura, "You have to answer for my husband's father. Leto." She blinked back the tears in her eyes remembering the kind man who took her in with Duncan when no one else did.

Shaddam stared between the glaring couple, and his voice dropped to an eerier whisper, "Do you know why I killed him? Because he was a man who believed in rules of the heart. But the heart is not meant to rule. In other words... your father was a weak man."

She gripped her Quarterstaff tighter at his words, teeth gritting so hard she thought her jaw might break. How dare he, she thought bitterly feeling her powers spike up, and flow through her and in the air around her, how dare he speak of Leto that way--

With another touch from Paul's gloved hand, she stopped her rageful thoughts and he kept his hand over her knuckles as he spoke calmy to Shaddam, "Stand or choose your champion."

The Emperor didn't respond, and only stared at the two in front of him. That was until Feyd-Rautha decided to make himself known, "I am here, Atreides." He walked up to where they stood, eyes scanning (Y/N)'s figure making Paul scowl at him fiercely, "I need a blade."

"Accept mine." Shaddam said to the male, who looked to him and nodded his head in agreement, making the couple turn away to prepare Paul for the fight.

Gurney and Stilgar were watching from the sidelines, both just as worried about the duo more then they showed on their faces. Gurney wanted to fight in Paul's place, but the young adult told him it was his burden to bare, making the old man worry even more.

(Y/N) and Paul were talking quietly among each other from what they could see, her hands cradling his face softly as he leant his forehead against hers, one of his hands grasping hers covering his face. He then pressed a lingering kiss on her lips, before they pulled back and Paul was walking back to the middle of the room.

Her eyes fluttered feeling his lips on hers, and they still fluttered even when his warmth was gone. She bit her bottom lips nervously, scared for her husband. She knew he would win, but she feared how far Paul would go for that.

Standing closest to where the fight was, she held her staff in her left hand, and kept an eye on the enemy around them, in case someone wanted to intervene. She would change from that, then watch the fight between Paul and Feyd-Rautha.

She could hear their low voices talking, most likely Paul saying what the Fremen speak before they fight or go into battle. It did irritate her when Feyd said it also, but in a way that seemed offensive to the saying, gaining her to scoff.

The two began to fight each other, knife meeting knife, blade defending blade. Her heart was in her throat each time Feyd headbutted Paul, or hurt him with his fists or arm, but calmed herself down by repeating 'fear is the mind killer' over and over again inside her mind.

She was the first to gasp in a strangled way upon seeing the blood running down Pau's forehead, and how he had gotten kicked to the floor by Feyd. The crowd also made a noise at this, watching with wide eyes.

Feyd hummed lowly in the back of his throat, not caring about the blood coming from his nose as he saw Paul looked to (Y/N) and vise versa, "Looks like I might have to keep your pet's bed warm at night." He hissed in a rasp, setting the male's rage off badly, and for her face to pale, "Any special attention for your wife that I need to know?"

Paul was up immidently hearing the comments. His eyes darkened, the vein in his temple beginning to throb. He didn't say a word, but the shift in his stance was unmistakable-like a storm cloud rolling in.

If it weren't for his plan, Feyd would off been headless by now and bleeding on the floor for the comments alone about his wife.

He began to thump his clenched fist against his stillsuit, right where his chest was before he attacked Feyd, both back to clashing their knifes and fists with each others.

A cry makes it way out of (Y/N)'s throat when Paul was stabbed in his stomach, tears appearing in her eyes as she felt the hands of Jessica, now beside her cradling the girl like she once did before when Paul fought.

She wanted to help him, and she really did, but in this case she couldn't. All she could do was watch helplessly while her husband had a knife in his stomach.

Paul, who was now breathing heavily with the knife sticking out of his side glanced to his wife, eyes lidded but gave her a soft, and reassuring glance that made her shoulders tremble in Jessica's hold. She felt sick to her stomach that she couldn't just move to help and support him.

Feyda went to stab Paul to finish him off, but the male grabbed the knife by the blade before he could do so, still breathing heavily. However, what none of them realised was that Paul had managed to stab his enemy where he would bleed out the most, sending them both to the floor on their knees.

The fight was over when Paul pulled back his knife with a grunt, and Feyda's body fell limp to the floor, his body making a loud thump to signal who the winner was. And straight away, (Y/N) was breaking free from Jessica's hold to rush up to gather her husband in her arms.

Stilgar started a chant of their prophesized names, all chanting for their saviors and the two who would bring liberation, "Ardh Walker-Gaib! Lisan Al-Gaib!"

While that was happening, she was dealing with the wounded Paul knelt down beside her, "This is going to hurt, and I'm sorry my love." She whispered to him as he panted heavily, his head falling to her shoulder as she grips the handle of the knife, "Alright, one, two, three--"

She pulled the knife out in one single tug, gaining a loud and painful groan from him that was muffled by her shoulder. He thanked her with a sloppy kiss to the exposed skin of her neck, as his arms loosely wrapped around her waist lazily as she stands to help him up from the floor.

In her other hand, she outstretched her fingers to call her staff which came flying to her from it's spot beside Jessica. She gripped it tightly when she felt it, keeping an arm around Paul's waist as the two walk towards where the defeated Emperor was, leaving the dead body of Feyd behind.

"The life debt has been paid." Princess Irulan suddenly spoke up in a frantic voice, trying to keep it steady as the powerful beings get closer to where her father was next to her, "Spare my father now and I will be wiling lady in waiting. The throne will be yours."

They shared a look with one another hearing this, and (Y/N) nodded her head at Paul, both of them understanding what this meant. Paul let go of his wife for a second to raise his hand to Shaddam, who didn't react at first causing Paul to stomp his boot on the floor.

Only then did the old Emperor react, and grab Paul's hand in respect where his house ring was placed on his finger. He held onto (Y/N)'s raised hand also, and bowed before the new rulers of Arrakis, which made everyone around them start to bow on one knee apart from the Princess and one other.

She knew who it was before even turning around. With her waist being held by Paul's arm, (Y/N) turned to see Chani standing in the kneeling crowd, the only other one who hadn't bowed before them. Tears were in the Fremen girls eyes, both of them staring at each other for different reasons, and different emotions.

Chani couldn't bare to see what she feared most would happen any longer, and span around to march out of the room, a single tear dropping from her eye and trailing down her cheek. And that was the last time she ever saw (Y/N), the one who changed everything for her.

Paul could see how upset his wife was at the other girl leaving, and pressed his lips onto her forehead, before nuzzling his nose into her messy locks, "It's going to be alright, my love." He whispered in a hoarse voice, and squeezed her against his side comforting, "'Ana 'uhibuk jdaan."

She didn't respond to his words, but pressed a kiss to the corner of his mouth before she removed her hand from the old Emperor along with Paul and heard Gurney's voice behind them with Stilgar, and a few other Fremen.

"My Lady, My Lord, the Great Houses have answered. They refuse to honor your ascendancy."

Stilgar was next with the comments after he had stopped informing, "We wait your orders, Ardh Walker-Gaib. Lisan Al-Gaib." He says just as the rest of his people stood up from their kneeling positions.

(Y/N) and Paul shared a knowing look between each other. Husband and wife, like it always should of been. Together as one leading them, with nothing in their way. Because no matter what happened, no matter what was thrown at them, they at least had each other. Always.

"Lead them to paradise."

Cheers erupted from all around the room, the Fremen chanting their names like they usually did as the couple both lean forward to each other and rest their foreheads against one another's, mouth's meeting in the middle.

Let the holy war begin.
