two.

SERAPHINA after having awoke from her slumber looked between the two men who hadn't yet realised that she was now awake as they sat near the foot of the bed discussing matters of the baby and their city.

"and how do we not know that this woman is one of them? I have brought into the world a weapon they can use against me." One man said sadly before he caught Seraphina's eye and abruptly ended the conversation giving her a questioning gaze.

She gave them a calculated stare not knowing what their next move was to be. She cleared her thought as she began to address them. "Who are you? And what am I doing here exactly?" She asked them trying to sound confident.

One of the men chuckled at her words as he pushed himself off of the doorway. "Who am I? I'm Klaus Mikaelson. The better question is who are you my dear? You're the one who tried to kidnap my newborn daughter."

Seraphina flinched slightly at his tone but she didn't let it show that she was frightened of the man. "If I remember correctly I saved your daughter. It was the witches who were trying to kill her I presume." She huffed looking between the man named Klaus who gave the other man a surprised look. "A simple thank you would suffice." She told them as the other man coughed to hide his laugh.

"She is a fiery one Niklaus." He chuckled as he adjusted his sleeve, looking into the room adjacent to the one they were in at a woman who was sat holding her baby.

Klaus scoffed in disbelief "Why would you try to save my daughter? I don't believe we've met before and everyone else in this town seems to want the opposite. So what's so special about you?" Klaus asked as he stepped towards the woman.

"I can't say." Seraphina said truthfully as she wasn't to sure herself. She didn't know why she was to be the one to protect the child or what she was even suppose to do.

"You can't say? I will allow you five seconds to think about it before I rip your heart from your chest if you don't tell me what I want to know." He sped over to her and held her up against a wall by her neck.

Surprisingly she shoved him off and took a few steps back to create some space between them. "I can't tell you because I don't know myself. I'm not suppose to be here, at least I don't think I am..." She explained as she started to mutter to herself trying to make sense of the situation she was put in.

She couldn't remember much the last memory she had was watching her dragons fall before her eyes as a local witch put her under a spell telling her that there was nothing left for her there and that she had a bigger purpose to fulfill and that the child must be protected at all costs.

"So I assume we're suppose to believe this nonsense you speak of? What do you take me for?" Klaus asked the woman as she recited it to them.

"I don't understand it either but it's all I know. Why would I lie to you?" She asked him.

The other man cleared his throat before addressing them. "Niklaus if I may. Maybe..." Elijah trailed off looking towards the woman as he never caught her name.

"Seraphina." She told them as he nodded.

"Maybe Seraphina could be of use to us. It is written that she is to be Hope's protector so maybe she can help us if we are to arm ourselves. Brother, we have fought every adversary in this town, and we have won. And we'll fight them again, no matter who they are! We will make this home a fortress."

Klaus lowered his voice to a dangerous whisper not wanting to disturb Hope or to worry Hayley. "I will not have her live her life as a prisoner." He denied.

"Then we leave here, together. All of us." Elijah declared.

Klaus bowed his head. "Wherever we go, however fat we run, those who seek power and revenge will hunt us! They will hunt her. She has inherited all of our enemies with none of our defenses." He spoke bitterly.

"So, whether we stay, or we leaveβ€” we condemn her." Elijah spoke solemnly.

"There is a third option." Hayley appeared in the doorway with Hope held in her arms as she looked down at her daughter with tears in her eyes. She looked wrecked.

"I grew up in a war zone. My parents thought they could protect me. But, in the end, they were slaughtered. I spent my childhood alone and unloved." She explained sadly as she looked back down at her daughter and smiled whilst trying to hold back tears.

"I made a promise, to my baby, and to myself. That she would not grow up like I did. That she would grow up safe, and loved. And yet, here she is, on her first day in this world, with a grandmother who is bent on sacrificing herβ€”." She paused for a second as she starts to stutter as she cries "β€”and a-a Mother who has to drink the blood of her own baby to survive transitioning into a hybrid. And I'm the one who loves her the most." She continues as tears started to slip down her face and she cradled her child.

Seraphina's heart clenched as she felt for the woman. Klaus and Elijah exchange a brief look as they watch Hayley saddened and devastated by their current situation. They never anticipated it would be this hard.

"I think the only thing to do is...send her away...while we stay behind and clean up the mess that we've made." Hayley decided as she looked back up at the three who were in the room. Seraphina couldn't help but to think it was a good idea, she only wished she had the chance to do the same. However, apparently not everyone agreed.

"No! This is insane." Elijah refused. "You heard Genevieveβ€” so long as she lives, that baby will be hunted." He recited what the woman had told both he and Hayley earlier that day.

Seraphina looks between the three before stepping closer. "Only as long as she lives. What if they were to believe she was dead?" She suggested as the three give her a questioning look.

"I know you don't trust me, and I don't blame you, but I was sent here to protect that baby and I will do whatever it takes. It is my duty. So I will do whatever i can to prove to you that I am trustworthy. I think this is the only option."

Klaus nodded as he stood next to Hayley. "She won't be hunted if no one knows she lives." He realised knowing it was a dangerous plan but it could work. He turned towards Seraphina who he still had yet to trust.

"Why do you care so much?" He asked her, the question throwing her off slightly.

"I once was to have a baby with my Khal, my King. I tried to save him when he was mortally wounded with blood magic, and as a result I discovered that all magic comes with a price and I was unfortunate enough to have my unborn son pay it. So I empathize with you and your situation and I want to help you save your daughter before it's too late. I'd like to save her because I wasn't able to save my own and it was that which was the start of my demise." She spoke earnestly as she thought back to that night.

On those words the three felt a feeling of sincerity and that enforced a small amount of trust within them for her. Elijah spoke next as he looked towards his younger brother.

"What is it you intend to do, brother?" He questioned him confused. Knowing his plans are usually diabolical.

"Whatever it takes to save our family." He spoke with purpose as they all eyed each other not knowing whether the plan was going to work but they had to try. For Hope.

*

A short while later after the announced of the death of the baby Mikaelson and the wake for those who had died in the battle of New Orleans. Seraphina approached Klaus who was stood on one of the balcony's which overlooked the quarter. She approached him cautiously stopping a few feet away.

She held her hands in front of her as she announced her presence but he already knew she was there. "I know you have yet to trust me and I'm sorry for everything you are going through, no parent should have to make a decision like this. I overheard you speaking with your brother about matters over Marcellus and I wanted you to know that you may take away my memories of Hope also, if that is what it takes for you to earn my trust then so be it. You may take my memories of her away until you deem it fit for me to know, until she is safe again.

Klaus turns to her in slight shock that she would offer to do such a thing as she hadn't known him long. "If that is what you wish."

Seraphina nodded. "It's what is best...for her." She knew it was dangerous and without her memories of the baby she might go insane not knowing why she is there but she hopes that in time she will remember her purpose for it will one day save all of humanity.

"Very well then." Klaus steps towards the woman and cups her face in his hands as he looks he directly in the eyes. She grasps his hands for a second stilling his movements.

"I only ask of one thing." Seraphina spoke causing Klaus to nod his head for her to continue. "If I lose myself in my own mind just remind me why I'm here and if I am to gain your trust one day that I get to regain my memories of the girl when she survives." Seraphina asked him searching his eyes for any giveaways to his feelings.

"Of course, love. You have my word." He nodded after the woman who reached behind her neck and unclapsed her necklace.

"Would you give her this. It should help her, wards of bad spirits." She held out her necklace that was given as a gift when she was to marry the Khal.

Klaus carefully took the necklace and placed it in his jacket before once more locking eyes with her. She nodded letting him know it was okay before he proceeded.

"You will not know of what you did this day. You will not know of Hope Mikaelson only that the baby was sacrificed in Battle. To you she had unfortunately passed and you will move on knowing there was nothing else you could of done to save her. You should β€”" Klaus continued to speak but it sounded far away to Seraphina as she focused on his eyes and he's lips moving with the words that fell from them. As she continued to look at him her eyes felt heavy with a sudden urge to close them and when she reopened them a sudden feeling of unsettlement and absence hit her but she couldn't explain why.

She looked at the space around her seeing that she was on a dimly lit street in an unknown city not knowing why or how she got there. She looked around confused as a stranger approached her directing her to a safe space not knowing that she was in fact being watched by a man who had only just met the woman that day and was already enticed by her, only she wouldn't even remember meeting him or his family.

ooof did I do it? did I actually post an update 😱

I was going to get Seraphina to be the one to look after Hope but then realised that wouldn't work because the Mikaelson's are so paranoid and the most realistic thing to happen in this situation is for Klaus to erase her memory because if he did it to Marcel he's not just going to let some stranger walk around knowing shit

but now I'm also stuck at the moment because how tf should I reintroduce her when she has no memory of them?? Like she knows that she was suppose to protect the child but she thinks she died so now what?πŸ˜‚ I've put myself into fucking writers block fuck me see you guys next year ✌🏼
