𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐋𝐎𝐆𝐔𝐄 - ❝New York, huh?❞

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐎 𝐅𝐀𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐘 was a happy family. They lived their life in luxury thanks to Athena's high-paying job as a secretary for a very successful businessman. The twins went to a prestigious private school and had many friends, but they were also at the top of their classes. Every. Single. One. Of. Them.

Of course now these twins were smart but they were also quite the pranksters. It was a great source of entertainment for them when their mother would be out working. They would plan their shenanigans weeks before they actually executed them.

Valerie would be the one who did the field work, like setting up things and making things or constructing things while Alexander would be the brain behind the curtains. It wasn't like Valerie wasn't as smart as her brother but she just loved the risky situations and dangerous businesses while Alexander preferred to play safe. They both were different yet clicked so well.

Thus like any other day, another prank was in the process of being executed. This time, the victim would be random, anyone who rings the doorbell to their big apartment after the final touches are done, is the one they target.

The prank was not harmful, the twins always made sure that their pranks wouldn't actually hurt people, their mom would get so mad if they did that. The idea was to connect the wires of the doorbell to a small battery that was inside the house.

The field work was already done, Valerie had already messed with the electrical outlet for the doorbell and connected it's wires to the batteries that they had kept right behind the front door.

Who ever would be unfortunate enough to fall prey to their little scheme by pressing the doorbell would be feeling stunned for a minute due to a 'little' amount of shock that would go through the person's body. Of course for safety measures the kids had put on rubber slippers that they found lying around the apartment. They also had made sure to not shock the person to death.
It was just gonna be a very little amount of electricity that would go through the person's body, like a tingle, but just that the tingle would be felt like twice or thrice...they were careful regarding such plays.

The kids were getting bored out of their minds, waiting for someone, anyone except their mom to ring that damn bell. They even took turns to watch through the peephole, and it was currently Alexander's turn.

It was like God answered their prayers when Alexander saw a kinda stout man in a suit outside the door. He quickly gestured his sister to come over, watching as she dropped everything in her hands and ran towards the chair Alexander was sat on.

She was excited- to say the least. I mean the reaction had to be priceless. Valerie handed her brother the small camera the two shared which was filled with recorded videos of their pranks in action, and watched as he tried to film through the peephole.

The man outside the door was taking his time, checking if he had arrived at the right address. He was anxious to meet the twins.

Alexander and Valerie watched as the man raised his hand slowly to the doorbell and finally, he rang it.

The sight was hilarious as the duo burst out laughing, Alexander was patting his thigh while Valerie had tears in her eyes from laughing so hard.

The man, Happy Hogan, was not Happy by any means. I mean the man just got electrified out of nowhere. What even happened? Happy was so confused. He still felt the tingles running through his body that made him shiver and squirm quite comically.

The twins watched as the unknown man in the suit took his finger off the rigged doorbell with a pissed and confused expression. That only seemed to fuel their laughter even more as Valerie just rolled on the ground while holding her stomach, her brother in the same condition as her.

Alexander quickly came to his senses and stopped laughing when he heard a familiar voice come from behind the door. Shit.

Valerie seemed to have heard it too because she looked at her twin with wide eyes and hastily got up from the ground. The girl had quicker reflexes as she took the things they'd used for the prank in her arms and ran to the twins' shared room.

Alexander also placed the chair back in its original place. The twins had a numerous amounts of possible excuses and apologies running through their minds. As Valerie came back she saw that her mother was still outside the door and conversing with the man they had just pranked.

They were in so much trouble.

The twins sat on the couch in the living room and switched on the television, watching it and laughing as if nothing had happened. They heard the keys jingle as the doorknob was twisted open by none other than their mom.

Now Athena loved the twins, but the disasters that they caused had her banging her head on the wall everytime she had to apologise for their actions. She would scold them both and lecture them for hours. But this time something was different.

Usually the twins' mother would have this scowl on her face when they got caught but instead of that scowl they were met with a somber, almost blank expression on her face. That scared the twins.

The man clad in the black suit made his way inside the apartment and towards the kids, walking past their mother who just stood there, almost lifeless.

"Hello kids. I'm here to take you to New York for a very nice trip." The man said while smiling.

The kids would've been happy had it not been for the fact that they just knew something was wrong. "Mom, who is this man? And Mister-Whoever-You-Are, what if I don't wanna go to New York?" Valerie sassed, throwing a glare towards the man.

Happy raised his eyebrows in surprise, he could literally see the shadow of a specific man's attitude in the girl.

"Glykoúla mou (sweetie), listen to me, you both will go to New York with Mr.Hogan..." The mother told her kids with a weak voice, she was putting up a facade. But the twins were obedient and followed their mother's wishes without any further questions.

What they didn't know was that this would be the last time they'd see their mom....
