Go down with me

πΈπ the film carried on, the teacher mouthed every word, fully engrossed in the dialogue. Mike struggled to stay awake, while Jessica and Angela tried to hold back their tears. Eric, however, was openly sobbing. Edward and Bella whispered quietly, with Edward expressing his envy for Romeo's dramatic life.
Meanwhile, Rain was absorbed in the photos and notes about the hiker killings. Suddenly, the teacher slammed his hand on her desk, startling her and drawing everyone's attention.
"Miss Swan, if I could grade you on how profoundly you disturbed me, you'd be an A-plus student," he said sternly.
Rain smiled sheepishly and nodded. "Thanks, sir," she replied.
The teacher sighed and walked away, clearly exasperated. From the back of the room, Rain heard a quiet chuckle. She turned to see Bella and Edward grinning, and she gave them a thumbs-up. "Mhm," she murmured with a hint of sarcasm before turning back to her photos.
As she studied them more closely, she realized that the cause of the deaths wasn't an ordinary animal-it was a vampire. Her fist clenched, and her eyes glared at the photos with a dangerous intensity.

Bella left that night for the Cullens' house, leaving Charlie and Rain alone. Charlie sat on the couch, cleaning his gun with a beer cane on the table. Rain noticed the disappointment and sadness in his eyes, knowing he had been looking forward to spending time with Bella on her birthday. The sight tugged at her heart.
Rain set her book aside and walked over to him, gently taking his hands to make him stop. "Dad, let's watch a movie like we used to. I can order pizza. How does that sound?" she suggested with a smile.
Charlie's expression softened, happiness replacing the sadness in his eyes. "Sounds good, raindrop," he replied, nodding.
Rain smiled warmly, kissed his forehead, and hugged him. A few moments later, the pizza arrived. Charlie put on a movie while Rain placed the pizza box on the table. They both settled on the couch, enjoying their meal as the film played.
Rain leaned her head on his shoulder, feeling the comforting warmth of his presence. Charlie wrapped his arm around her and kissed her forehead, a sense of contentment filling the room as they shared this simple, cherished moment together.
As moments passed, Charlie fell asleep on the couch. Rain smiled warmly, standing up quietly. She retrieved a spare warm blanket from the closet and returned to him. She gently laid him down more comfortably, removed his shoes, and draped the blanket over him, creating a cozy atmosphere. "Goodnight, Dad," she whispered with a tender smile.
Just then, Rain heard Bella and Edward's car pull into the driveway. She waited as Bella entered the house, closing the door behind her. Rain noticed a troubled look on Bella's face, and the scent of fresh blood reached her keen senses. Concerned, Rain quickly went to Bella and gently pulled up the sleeve of her jacket, revealing a bandage.
Bella shook her head, pulling the sleeve back down. "It's okay, it's nothing," she insisted.
Rain looked at her sister, worry etched across her features. "Nothing? Bella, this isn't nothing. What happened?"
Bella avoided Rain's gaze and started walking upstairs. "I fell. I'm fine," she said, her voice dismissive.
Rain's eyes followed her sister as she ascended the stairs, a mixture of concern and frustration filling her. She sighed, knowing Bella wasn't telling her the whole truth but deciding not to press further for now. As Bella retreated to her room, Rain glanced back at the peacefully sleeping Charlie and then at the closed door of Bella's room, her mind racing with questions and worry.

The ocean breeze carried the salty tang of sea air as it blew across the cliffs. The moon shone brightly, casting a silvery glow on the landscape. At the cliff's edge stood a massive white wolf, as pure as freshly fallen snow, gazing down at the churning ocean below. The waves crashed powerfully against the rocks, their roar a steady backdrop to the night. Erian, the white wolf, inhaled deeply, savoring the scent and the sense of freedom it brought.
A voice in his head broke through his reverie. "Erian, what are you doing?" Erian turned to see a dark silver wolf standing behind him. It was his brother, Paul Lahote.
"I don't know," Erian replied, his thoughts conveyed telepathically. "I've recently felt a strong attraction to the ocean, though I'm not sure why."
Paul approached, his eyes filled with concern. "Well, just don't throw your ass down there, alright? Sam is calling for us."
Erian nodded, giving the ocean one last lingering look before he turned and followed Paul into the woods. As they ran, the trees blurring past them, Erian's mind drifted back to his growing fascination with the sea. It was a recent obsession, something that had been tugging at his consciousness, urging him to the water's edge night after night. He couldn't pinpoint what it was that called to him-the mystery gnawed at him even as he sprinted alongside his brother.
Their paws thudded rhythmically on the forest floor, the sounds of the night accompanying them on their journey. Erian tried to shake off his preoccupation with the ocean, focusing instead on the task ahead. Sam's call was urgent, and they had responsibilities to attend to. Yet, a part of him couldn't help but wonder what secrets the sea held, and why it beckoned him so persistently.

The next day at school, the cafeteria buzzed with laughter and chatter as friends gathered around tables. Bella, seated with her group, felt a familiar twinge of unease. She glanced over her shoulder, her heart sinking as she noticed the Cullen table was conspicuously empty. Rain, ever attuned to her sister's moods, placed a comforting hand on Bella's arm, drawing her attention.
"It's alright," Rain whispered, offering a warm smile that eased the tension in Bella's brow. Bella returned the smile, albeit faintly, and leaned into Rain's side for a brief moment of comfort. The sisters had developed a bond that could withstand the tides of uncertainty, and in that moment, Bella felt a little less alone.
As the school day drew to a close, Bella and Rain made their way to Bella's old red truck. Bella parked it in the familiar spot, but her eyes were drawn to Edward, who stood still in the yard, his presence both reassuring and disconcerting. Rain noticed her sister's fixation and sensed the tension in the air, but she plastered on a bright smile and nudged Bella playfully. "I'll see you inside." Bella nodded, her heart fluttering with anticipation as she stepped out of the truck and made her way toward Edward. Rain watched her sister walk away, a knot of worry forming in her stomach. She took a deep breath, willing herself to remain calm, before heading inside the house.
Once in her room, Rain dropped her backpack on her desk, the weight of her thoughts pressing heavily on her. She glanced out the window, catching a fleeting glimpse of Bella and Edward heading into the woods. Her heart raced with concern as she thought about their secretive rendezvous, but she tried to push the worries aside.
Deciding to distract herself, Rain rummaged through her backpack and pulled out her homework. She settled into her desk chair, the familiar smell of old books surrounding her like a comforting embrace. But as she flipped through her notes, her mind kept wandering back to Bella.
Unable to focus, Rain grabbed her sketchbook and pencil instead, the blank pages inviting her creativity. She began to draw, letting her hand flow freely across the page, capturing the images in her mind. The art became a refuge, a way to express her emotions and frustrations, while the sounds of the outside world faded away.
With each stroke of her pencil, she poured her worries into the paper, creating vibrant scenes of the ocean crashing against cliffs, echoing the turmoil she felt for Bella and the unknowns that lay ahead. She knew deep down that she needed to be there for her sister, but for now, this was her way of processing everything-the laughter, the worries, the unknowns.
As the moments passed and darkness enveloped the night, Rain was lost in her thoughts when Charlie barged through her bedroom door, his face a mask of panic. "Dad, what's wrong? Are you okay?" Rain sprang to her feet, concern flooding her voice.
"Do you know where your sister is?" Charlie's voice was tight, his eyes searching Rain's for answers.
"No," Rain replied, fear creeping into her heart. "She went into the woods with Edward."
Charlie shook his head, his expression grim. "The Cullens aren't answering my calls. Bella is missing, I tried calling her a couple of times but she isn't picking up."
A jolt of dread shot through Rain, her eyes widening in horror. Without a second thought, she sprinted past her father and burst through the front door. The chill of the night air hit her as she raced into the woods, her legs moving with a speed that felt instinctual, fueled by fear and urgency. The trees blurred past her, their silhouettes dark and foreboding against the moonlit sky. Rain's heart pounded in her chest as she bolted toward the Cullen house, the place that had once felt like a refuge but now seemed deserted and hollow. She reached the house and skidded to a halt, panic surging through her as she took in the empty driveway and the darkened windows.
"Bella!"
