Go down with me

โ๐ธ๐โ dashed through the forest, following Bella's scent with the speed that belonged to a vampire. The trees and underbrush blurred around her as she raced through the night, her heart pounding with a mix of fear and determination. Suddenly, a flash of yellow caught her eye. Her heart leaped with hope as she spotted Bella lying on the ground.
"Bella!" Rain called out, her voice a mix of relief and urgency. She reached her sister and gently lifted Bella's head, scanning her for any serious injuries. Finding none, Rain exhaled in relief. "Come on, let's get you home," she said softly, lifting Bella with ease and cradling her in a protective, bridal style.
Just as Rain was about to turn and head back, she heard the rustling of leaves and the sound of someone approaching. Her body tensed, and she held Bella tighter, ready to defend her sister from whatever threat might emerge. She planted her feet firmly, bracing herself for confrontation. A tall, tanned man stepped into view. He was built like a warrior, wearing only denim shorts. His short dark hair and intense dark eyes gave him a formidable appearance, but it was the tribal tattoo on his shoulder that caught Rain's attention and made her relax. She recognized the scent that drifted off him.
Rain bent on one knee and bowed her head, showing respect to the leader while still cradling Bella. The man nodded at her, a hint of surprise in his eyes. Without a word, he took Bella from Rain's arms, his grip gentle but firm.
Rain stood up and followed closely behind him, feeling the warmth radiating off his body as they moved through the forest together. The night seemed less foreboding with his presence, and Rain felt a flicker of hope amidst her worry. She kept her eyes on Bella, silently promising to protect her no matter what.
As the trio emerged from the forest, Rain saw the entire police team, along with Jacob, Billy, and Harry, standing by her father. Jacob was the first to spot them. "Charlie!" he called out. Charlie turned and, upon seeing his daughters, ran to them.
Charlie rushed to the man carrying Bella. The man, Sam, spoke reassuringly, "She's alright." Charlie gently took Bella from Sam's arms. "I got her. Thank you, Sam."
Sam nodded towards Rain. "Actually, it was she who found Bella."
Charlie turned to Rain, a mix of relief and sternness in his eyes. "Are you okay? Don't run off like that ever again, young lady."
Rain met her father's gaze and replied, "Sorry, Dad. But I just had to find her."
Charlie nodded, his expression softening. "Okay, let's get you both inside."
As Charlie turned and walked towards the house with Bella, Rain looked back at Sam and signed, 'Thank you.' Sam nodded in acknowledgment.
Harry also nodded at Sam, who returned the gesture. Jacob, however, scowled at Sam before turning away and walking off. Sam exchanged a meaningful look with Billy, who was watching Rain. Billy nodded, confirming Sam's suspicions: Rain was indeed a Siren. Rain followed Charlie inside, feeling the weight of the night's events. She glanced back once more at Sam, who stood watchful and knowing. The bond of silent understanding between them grew stronger as Rain entered the house.

Months went by, and Bella wasn't herself. Most days, she stared out the window with a solemn look on her face or tried to email Alice, expressing her confusion and pain. Rain and Charlie did their best to help, but Bella often refused to eat. On particularly tough days, Rain would kick open Bella's door, drag her to the bath, or even shove food down her throat.
Rain took on more responsibilities, cooking for the family and trying to lift Charlie's spirits as he grew increasingly stressed, unsure how to help his daughter. The nights were the worst. Bella had horrific nightmares that left her screaming, waking both Charlie and Rain. Rain would rush to Bella's room, shaking her awake and holding her close. "It's okay, you're okay. I'm here, I'm here," she would whisper, comforting Bella until she fell back into a peaceful slumber. Rain often stayed with her until morning.
At school, Rain tried to maintain a semblance of normalcy, sitting with their group of friends in the cafeteria. She often glanced back to see Bella sitting alone at the table where the Cullens used to sit, looking lost without Edward. Even at night, the nightmares persisted, and Rain would once again comfort Bella, wiping away her tears and offering soothing words.
One particularly difficult night, Rain sighed and began to sing a gentle song, not using her siren abilities:
"Oh, the waves roll low
And the waves roll high
And so it goes
Under a bright blue endless sky
Waves try to measure
The days that we treasure
Wave hello and wave goodbye."
As Rain finished singing, Bella finally slipped into a peaceful slumber. Exhausted, Rain exhaled deeply, holding Bella close as she looked out the window at the moonlit night. She lay down beside her sister, hoping for a few hours of sleep before dawn.

The next morning arrived with a sense of urgency. As Bella was about to get into her truck, Charlie stepped in and closed the door before she could. "Alright, that's it," he declared, his tone firm. Bella looked at him, confusion written all over her face. "What?" she asked.
Charlie sighed, his frustration and worry evident. "You're going to Jacksonville. Live with your mother." Bella's gaze dropped, her mind racing with thoughts and emotions. "I'm not leaving Forks," she said, her voice tinged with defiance. Charlie shook his head, his eyes filled with concern. "Bells... he's not coming back." Bella's heart felt like it was breaking all over again. She nodded slightly, fighting back tears. "I know," she whispered.
Charlie continued, his voice softer but still resolute. "It's not normal, this behavior. Quite frankly, it's scaring the hell out of me, your mother, and Rain. Rain is hardly sleeping as she's trying to help soothe your nightmares."
At that moment, a loud thud came from inside the house, drawing their attention. They turned to see Rain stumbling out of the front door, rubbing her forehead. She missed a step and nearly fell but quickly caught herself. "Whoa!" she exclaimed, then straightened up with a smile. "I'm alright."
Charlie gestured to Rain, his point emphasized. "See?" he said to Bella. He sighed deeply and continued, "Baby, I... I don't want you to leave. I don't, but just go. Go to Jacksonville. Make some new friends."
Bella's voice broke as she interjected, "I like my old friends."
Rain raised an eyebrow, clearly puzzled by the conversation. Charlie pressed on, "Well, you never see 'em anymore." Bella's gaze dropped again. "I do, I..." She sighed, then looked at her father with determination. "I'm... gonna, uh, go shopping tomorrow with Jessica and Rain." Rain's confusion deepened. She didn't remember making such plans. "We are?" she asked, glancing at Bella.
Charlie looked at Bella sceptically. "You hate shopping."
Avoiding his gaze, Bella insisted, "I... need a girls night out." She grabbed Rain's hand, ready to leave.
Charlie relented, albeit reluctantly. "Alright. Girls night. Shopping. I like it. Go. Buy some stuff."
As Rain and Bella entered the truck and drove off, Rain turned to her sister, her concern evident. "So, you want to tell me what's going on?" Bella avoided Rain's gaze, shaking her head. "Nothing." Rain frowned, her worry growing. "Why did you lie to him?"
Bella kept her eyes on the road, her voice quiet. "I didn't. We're going shopping."
Rain looked at Bella, her mind swirling with questions and a growing sense of unease. Something was definitely wrong, and she had a bad feeling about it.
