๐•‹โ„๐”ผ early morning light filtered through the curtains like soft golden threads, casting a warm glow across the room. Erian lay sprawled on his stomach, his breathing slow and steady, lost in deep sleep, utterly unaware of the mischief stirring beside him. Rain, biting her lip to hold back giggles, crouched by the bed, sticky notes fanned out in her hands, her eyes gleaming with playful intent.

Erian's broad back rose and fell gently, a canvas waiting to be claimed. Rain carefully placed the first note between his shoulder blades, grinning as she read it silently: "Property of Rain." Her heart fluttered with excitement as she stuck another just below it: "Warning: Grumpy wolf-proceed with caution."

Suppressing a laugh, she worked quietly, her fingers nimble as they attached a bright yellow note to his arm: "Loves cuddles. Ask nicely." Rain could hardly contain her delight as she placed another on his hair: "Kick me."

Stepping back to admire her work, she beamed at the sight of Erian, still peacefully oblivious, now decorated with an array of colourful sticky notes. But she wasn't done yet. Oh no. With a mischievous glint in her eye, she placed the final note on the small of his back: "Prime wolf specimen-handle with care."

Just as she reached for another note, Erian stirred, his brow furrowing. Rain froze, her heart racing as he shifted, muttering something incoherent before settling again. She bit her lip, fighting the laughter bubbling inside her, but it was a losing battle. As he blinked awake, groggy and confused, Rain stood, arms crossed, doing her best to look innocent.

"Morning," she said sweetly, her smile barely contained.

Erian groaned, rolling onto his side, dislodging a few sticky notes that fluttered onto the bed. He squinted at her. "What're you up to?" he asked, his voice thick with sleep.

"Nothing," Rain replied with an angelic grin.

Erian stretched lazily, unaware of the sticky notes still clinging to his back as he staggered toward the bathroom. The sight was too much-Rain burst into laughter, clutching her stomach as the sound echoed through the room.

Erian paused mid-step, glancing back with a puzzled expression. "What's so funny?"

"Check your back, wolf boy," Rain managed between giggles, her eyes sparkling with amusement.

Erian raised an eyebrow, turning to look in the mirror. As soon as he saw the bright notes plastered across his body, he groaned, pulling one off and reading it aloud: "Prime wolf specimen-handle with care." His eyes widened, and he turned slowly to face Rain, who was now doubled over, tears of laughter streaming down her face.

"You did not," he said, peeling off another note that read, "Loves cuddles."

Rain grinned up at him, breathless. "You were sleeping so soundly, I couldn't resist."

Erian shook his head, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. He strode over to her in two quick steps, wrapping his arms around her waist and hoisting her into the air as she squealed in delight. "You're gonna pay for this, Raindrop."

Rain giggled, her eyes bright with affection as she looked down at him. "Totally worth it."

Erian set her down gently, his laughter mingling with hers. "I can't believe you woke up just to prank me."

"Prank?" Rain raised an eyebrow, a playful smirk on her lips. "I prefer to call it... creative expression."

He chuckled, brushing a strand of hair from her face and pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. "You're lucky I love you, sticky notes and all."

Rain smiled up at him, her heart full. "Oh, I know." Her fingers traced the line of his jaw as she leaned into him, their laughter fading into a quiet moment of tenderness. In his arms, with the world just waking around them, everything felt perfectly in place.

Erian held her close, his voice a soft rumble. "I'd be lost without you, Raindrop."

Rain's smile deepened, her heart swelling as she rested her head against his chest, the steady rhythm of his heartbeat a comforting lullaby. "And I'd be bored without you, wolf boy."

For a moment, they simply stood there, wrapped in each other's warmth, the quiet morning light washing over them, sticky notes and all.

Rain and Erain pulled up to Emily and Sam's place. The air was crisp and cool, and the scent of pine and earth filled the air. As she parked her Jeep, she spotted the pack already outside, laughing and roughhousing in the early morning mist.

Rain stepped out, her boots crunching softly on the gravel driveway, a grin spreading across her face. "Well, well, if it isn't the pack of oversized puppies," she called out, crossing her arms as she leaned against the side of her Jeep.

Paul, always quick with a retort, smirked and jogged over. "Careful, Raindrop, or we might just show you how 'puppy-like' we can be." He flashed a grin before turning into a blur of motion, shifting into his wolf form and darting toward her playfully.

Rain laughed, sidestepping just in time to avoid Paul's playful nudge with his head. "Paul, if you knock me down, I swear-"

Before she could finish, Jared, Quil, and Embry shifted as well, joining Paul in a playful circle around her, nudging and bumping her lightly with their noses. Rain tried to act tough, but their antics made it impossible to keep a straight face.

"Alright, alright!" she laughed, holding her hands up in surrender. "You win, okay? But if I end up covered in wolf slobber, you're all dead meat!"

Emily stepped out onto the porch, wiping her hands on her apron with a smile. "They can't help it, Rain. You bring out their playful side."

"Playful side, huh?" Rain shot back, still dodging wolf-nudges. "It feels more like they're trying to knock me down!"

Erian, stepped out of the car, watched with a soft smile. Unlike the others, he stayed in his human form, simply enjoying the sight of Rain having fun with the pack. His gaze was full of affection as Rain danced around, managing to stay on her feet despite the wolves' efforts to mess with her.

"Okay, seriously, stop!" Rain laughed breathlessly, pushing Quil's furry head away. "I'm going to Emily's house, not a wrestling match!"

Embry, in his wolf form, let out what could only be described as a wolfish chuckle, stepping back just as Rain managed to slip past them, making a break for the porch.

As she reached the stairs, she turned back, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "You guys are all bark and no bite!" she teased before darting up the steps.

Erian stepped forward, catching her by the waist just as she reached the porch. "Careful there," he murmured, his voice soft as he spun her around gently, pulling her into his arms. "Don't want to provoke them too much."

Rain grinned up at him, her hands resting on his chest. "I can handle myself, wolf boy. Besides, I like keeping them on their toes."

Emily laughed softly as she opened the door for them. "Come on inside, both of you. Breakfast is almost ready, and I'm not feeding a pack of wolves without some backup."

Rain wriggled out of Erian's embrace, shooting the pack one last playful glare. "You heard her, boys. Try not to break anything while I'm gone!"

Paul shifted back into his human form and dashed to the woods and came back wearing shorts, grinning. "No promises."

Erian chuckled, pulling Rain back against his side as they walked into the house. "You really do know how to stir things up," he said, his voice full of affection.

Rain smirked, leaning into him. "It's part of my charm."

Rain and Erian were seated across from each other, ready to dive into breakfast at their favorite little cafรฉ. The warm smell of pancakes and eggs filled the air, and the clinking of silverware created a pleasant background hum. Erian was distracted, squinting at the menu as he decided between a full English breakfast and something a little lighter. He didn't even notice Rain's sneaky little game unfolding beneath the table.

Rain, always the mischievous one, was pulling on a cord that was attached to a statue of a small man holding a fish in his hands. Every tug made the little statue laughโ€”a high-pitched, awkward sound that echoed around the otherwise peaceful cafรฉ. Erian's eyes flicked up from his menu, narrowing as the laughter echoed one more time.

"Rain..." Erian's voice was slow, like he was trying to hold in his irritation. He shot her a glance, but she was too busy yanking on the cord again, a devilish grin stretching across her face.

The little man giggled again.

"Rain," Erian repeated, the edge in his voice sharpening.

But it was no use. She kept yanking. Laugh, giggle, laugh, giggle. She even timed it perfectly with his every frustrated sigh, just to get under his skin.

Finally, Erian snapped, rolling his eyes as he reached over the table and yanked the cord himself, shutting the laugh up. He glared at her with a dramatic frown, crossing his arms over his chest. "You pull that one more time, I'll kill you," he said, voice dripping with feigned seriousness.

Rain's smile didn't falter. In fact, it grew. She looked straight at him, her eyes glinting with mischief. Without missing a beat, she gave the cord one more decisive tug, all the while not breaking eye contact.

The little man laughed again, a tiny, victorious sound.

Erian's eyes twitched. Without another word, he yanked the cord back and turned the laugh off again, shaking his head in exasperation. "You're impossible," he muttered, though his lips curled into a reluctant grin.

Rain chuckled at his frustration, glancing at him with playful sympathy. "Aw, lighten up, little wolf," she teased, her voice warm and light.

Erian rolled his eyes but couldn't help the grin tugging at his lips. "I'll lighten up when you stop turning this place into a circus."

With the tension between them lightened, they finally reached for their bottles. Erian grabbed his beer, the bottle cold and refreshing in his hand, while Rain, of course, grabbed her soda. She raised it to her lips, about to take a long, satisfying swig.

Erian's eyes glinted mischievously. "Bet you can't chug that," he taunted with a sly smirk.

Rain, never one to back down from a challenge, gave him a playful glare. "Watch me," she said, lifting the bottle and getting ready to prove him wrong.

But just as she was about to take a sip, her hand froze in midair. Her eyes widened in surprise.

Erian's grin grew wider as he leaned forward, trying to stifle a laugh. "Oh, you didn't," she said, her voice slow with disbelief.

Rain tried to set the bottle down, but it wouldn't budge. Her eyes widened in horror as she tugged, only to find that the bottle was stuck to her hand. Erian threw his head back and laughed, the sound echoing off the walls of the cafรฉ. He raised his own hand, revealing the glistening, unmistakable sign of his handiworkโ€”glue, dripping from his fingers like a work of pure evil. "Oh, I did," he said, barely able to hold his laughter back.

Rain shot him a look that could've frozen lava, but Erian just shrugged innocently, unable to contain the amusement in his voice. "You might want to reconsider your next move, little mermaid."

A dangerous glint appeared in Rain's eyes as she slowly pulled the bottle to her chest, glaring at him with a look that could melt steel. "Oh, it's war," she said, her voice low and threatening, though the gleam of humor was unmistakable in her eyes.

Erian smirked. "Bring it on, little mermaid," he challenged, his voice dripping with mock bravado. But the twinkle in his eyes betrayed himโ€”he knew he'd just opened Pandora's box.

Rain didn't respond right away. She just gave him a look that spoke volumesโ€”a promise of chaos in the near future. She was no stranger to revenge.

The battle lines were drawn, and breakfast suddenly seemed far less important than the war of wits that was about to unfold between them.
