Chapter Five: Reintroductions
"It was a dark and stormy night..." Monty began, holding a flashlight to his face.
"No, no it wasn't." Quackity interjected. "It was rather clear out that night. You could see all of the stars."
"I couldn't see any," Monty told him.
"That's cause you practically live here, at the Nuclear Power Plant. You can't see anything with those towers spewing all of that steam into the air."
"If I may interject," the man with the drawling voice spoke up. "but I don't see what the weather has to do with how we died."
"Right, right." Monty cleared his throat. "Anyways, Wonder and her small army rushed into the casino, weapons drawn. They were filled with anger and hatred, prepared to show no mercy towards any of you. Before any of you knew it, they attacked, swinging their swords and fists, determined to take back-"
"Actually," Quackity interrupted again. "we shouted at each other for a while, throwing some rather good insults around, before I called us to attack each other."
"If you're gonna keep on interrupting me, then why don't you just tell the story?" Monty snapped.
"I offered to, but you decided to do it anyway!"
"Guys!" the young girl shouted. "Just tell us how we died! Get to the blood and the gore; the good parts!"
"You know what, Quackity?" Monty sighed. "Just go ahead and tell them. I don't even know their names, as a matter of fact, and I certainly don't know how they died."
"What? You don't?" Quackity exclaimed in surprise. "Well we can't have that! You guys should introduce yourselves to Monty. It is chapter five, after all, and besides, you'll be seeing a lot more of him now."
The group nodded amongst each other, and one of them stepped forward. He wore a purple suit and hat, his black hair framing his face.
"Greetings, boss." he said, a look of disdain on his face. "My name is Springtrap."
"What-?" Quackity tilted his head, confused. "No, your name is-"
"Purple Guy, yes." Springtrap nodded. "I made a bet, long ago, with a guy named Scott Cawthorn, that when I died I was to be renamed as Springtrap, just to confuse everyone, and I was to wear an old, rusty fursuit until the end of time. I took it, not thinking much of it, and now I deeply regret it."
Monty laughed at the story. "You weren't expecting to be brought back to life back then, were you?"
"No one truly expects these sort of things," Springtrap mused. "But it seems that I was right when I said, time and time again, that I always come back."
"It may take some getting used to," Quackity told him. "But to be honest, Springtrap is starting to catch on."
"Good, good." he smiled, before a thought pierced his mind. "Am I still your right hand man?"
Quackity nodded, and a look of relief spread across Springtrap's face. Monty turned to the next man, the one with the drawling voice.
"My name is Squidward," he droned. "I've worked with Quackity for many years."
"Pleasure to meet you, Squidward." Monty extended a hand, which he shook. "What position did you work in?"
"Front desk, mostly." Squidward said shortly. "Before he hired me, I was a cashier at a restaurant called the Krusty Krab."
"I've heard of that place, but have never gone to it." Monty remarked, before turning to a woman with long black hair and warm blue eyes.
"I'm Comet," she greeted, shaking his hand. "I've been Quackity's friend for as long as I can remember."
"Very nice to make your acquaintance," Monty nodded at her, smiling, before looking down at the hyper child before him.
"My name is Mabel!" she exclaimed. "It rhymes with table! It also rhymes with glable! It also rhymes with...schmabel!"
"It also rhymes with shut the fuck up before I make you unable to speak again," Quackity muttered.
"What was that?" Mabel asked.
"Nothing!" Quackity half-shouted.
"Okay!"
The final woman stepped forward, the one who Monty had watched come back to life. Her magenta eyes sparkled with a mysterious aura as she smiled warmly at him.
"My name is Ballora," she said, a barely noticeable Canadian accent lacing her voice. "It is an honor to make your acquaintance at last."
Monty shook her hand, intrigued by this woman. "It truly is. Quackity has told me much about you."
"All good things, I hope." Ballora replied. Monty did not answer, but merely nodded in a curt fashion. "These are strange circumstances that have brought us together."
"Agreed." Monty said. "It is a shame to have learned of the tragedies that have befallen you- all of you, and even more so to know that none of you even know what happened. You all deserve the truth. Quackity, if you would, please."
"Of course, sir." Quackity stepped forward, looking at Springtrap. A grin spread across his face as he thought about how he could twist the tales, altering them to increase the rage of his army, before replacing it with a look of sorrow.
"Springtrap, your death shook us all to the very core. You fought heroically, and were the last one to fall, so take pride in knowing that. You were even on the cusp of bringing death unto Wonder, the leader of the group that opposed us, but were stabbed in the back by a man who we thought was dead - Technoblade, the self-proclaimed 'blood god'."
Springtrap nodded, a mixture of pride and anger on his face.
"Squidward, you were struck from above with a bolt of lightning as you defended the one you loved. They were on the opposing side, but they truly loved you, and were wrenched away from you against their will."
"What was their name?" Squidward asked.
"Glitch." Quackity told him. "You loved them more than anything, but alas, the power of the opposers was too strong."
Squidward sniffed, saddened by his failed efforts, but determined to redouble them when he meets Glitch again.
"Comet, I wasn't there when you died, but all I know is that you were double-crossed by an agent who we have long since taken care of. Though you fought valiantly, he was far too strong."
"I will not fail you this time, Quackity." Comet declared, set on fixing her mistakes and fighting once more.
"Mabel, you were an unfortunate causality of the kidnapping plan, slaughtered before you even had time to comprehend what was going on."
"I'll get whoever killed me, if it's the last thing I do!" Mabel exclaimed, uncharacteristically angry.
"And Ballora...your death was the most tragic of all. I was forced to watch every bit of it. After you saved me from the hands of death - death being Wonder, that is - you fought her, and very nearly succeeded in killing her. Alas, the aforementioned Technoblade joined her and fought alongside her. He disabled the elevator of the casino, cutting through the cables with his sword, and Wonder forced you to the edge, all remorse and emotion gone from her. She referencedthe famous quote from the movie 300, 'This is Sparta', before kicking you off, plunging you to your death. In one last heroic move, you grabbed Technoblade's foot and pulled him down with you, but it was sadly in vain."
Ballora closed her eyes, a look of unbridled rage and hatred etched across her face. There was only one thing she now cared about; vengeance.
"She will die by my hands, and mine alone." she growled.
"That's the spirit." Quackity said. "Monty, you wanna give a little speech about revenge? I'm not usually the greatest at those."
"Sure," Monty replied, stepping forward and clearing his throat.
"My friends, new and old, hear me, and rejoice. Do not dwell on the pain of the past, for it is the future that brings us tidings of great joy. We are strong together, united as one. Victory will be guaranteed if we remain united, but we will fail if we lose sight of what we've dreamed of. For many years, we have asked ourselves, how long have we been striving for greatness? Not only the times when we have fought with our rivals, but from the moment, as a child, when we realized that the world can be conquered. It has been a lifetime struggle, a never ending fight, and you will understand that it is a privilege to fight!"
Everyone within the room cheered as their hopes of revenge and victory grew.
"We are warriors! And in order to win, we will unite as one, and we will stop at nothing to take what is ours! We must never acquiesce, for it is together that we will prevail over our enemies, and take over the world!"
The walls of the Nuclear Power Plant seemed to tremble at the cheers of those inside, vicious and evil laughter permeating the air.
"We're coming for you, Wonder," Monty said to no one...to everyone.
