Chapter Twelve: Trains, Trains, and Automotrains
Upon discovering that Monty's Nuclear Power Plant was on the other side of The Big City, and that the distance between The Glitched Lounge and The Big City was relatively large, Vision decided to drop us off at the local train station so that he could return to Wanda and his children. This information filled me with extreme joy, because trains were my favorite mode of transport, and I had not been on one for a long time. When we reached the train station, I squealed in delight, and jumped out of the car before it even stopped moving.
"Jeez, Wonder, relax a bit!" Glitch advised me.
"Glitch, do you realize the joy that is coursing through my veins at this very moment?" I asked them.
"No." they replied. I sighed.
"Imagine Gravity Falls was getting a third season." I told them, causing them to gasp.
"Holy shit..." Glitch smiled at me. "I understand what you mean now!"
"It's not getting a third season!" a strange man with a mustache shouted, walking by us.
"Oh, shut up, Alex Hirsch!" I raised my hand, giving him an obscene and angry hand gesture. "Stop ruining our dreams!"
"If you would like," Thor interjected. "I could pound him into the ground with the biggest lightning bolt known to mankind."
"Yes, please do!" I cheered, but Techno stopped me.
"We do not have time to interfere with affairs such as this," he told us. "We have a train to catch."
"Oh, right!" I exclaimed. "Come on, gang!"
My friends exited the car and ran off to the train station, while I stayed behind, turning to Vision and White.
"Vision," I said. "Thank you so much for driving us around and inviting us to your home."
He nodded. "Any time, Wonder. When you come back, you're welcome to stay for as long as you need, and I can help you find an apartment sometime."
"I can't thank you enough." I told him, before turning off. "Goodbye, guys!"
"Farewell, Wonder!" Vision called.
"Good luck," White said, smiling warmly.
I entered the train station, heading to the platform where my friends were waiting. They were sitting down on a bench, awaiting the arrival of the train, and I sat down beside them.
"So, what's the plan?" Natasha asked.
"Well, basically the idea was that we'd go to the Nuclear Power Plant through the front gates, take out any guards that were there, and break in," I told her. "If anyone sees us in the building, we can take care of them."
"Maybe one or two of us could go up to Monty's private office, and try to find the blueprints of the Project so we could find out what it is." Glitch spoke up.
"I like that plan," Thor nodded. "Perhaps I could fly you and Nat up to the office using my hammer while the rest of us fight Monty and his army."
"That works for me," Nat said.
"Me too!" Glitch exclaimed.
"That's a great idea, guys," I told them. "If you see any other papers worth stealing, feel free to snatch them as well."
A faint dinging noise caught my attention, and I turned my head, looking down the railway. Joy and excitement flooded through my veins as I saw a train driving down the tracks, growing larger and larger as it drew nearer.
"Northern and Westview City Lines, and National Rail services," a computed female voice blared from speakers nearby. "This train terminates at The Big City."
"That's our train!" Techno exclaimed, jumping up, which prompted the rest of us to follow his lead.
The train began to slow as it pulled into the station, eventually coming to a full stop. Its doors slid open, and passengers began to enter the compartments. We ran forward and boarded the train, me squealing excitedly. This was it. We were off to the Nuclear Power Plant to get our revenge against Monty, Quackity, and their allies. Soon they will pay for their crimes.
Very, very soon.
