Chapter Seventeen: The Big Sad

I stood there, staring down the deep hole, numb. It couldn't be... I refused to believe it. And yet, I had witnessed it with my own eyes. Technoblade, the only man I had ever loved, and Ballora, the most beautiful woman I've ever seen, were gone.

I fell to my knees before the hole, emitting a distressed cry of grief. A wave of sadness, yes, a literal forcefield of grief and despair, flew out of me, knocking my friends, the bad guys, and any nearby casino furniture backwards, away from me.

I had formed the biggest sad I would ever create, and I didn't even care.

Quackity picked himself up off of the ground, grabbing the nearby sword in order to take advantage of my grief. But as he did so, he happened to look around at his casino- well, what was left of it anyway.

Blood from various wounds was staining the carpet a deeper red that it originally was. Slot machines and pool tables were overturned and broken. The door that opened to the casino was broken down from our dramatic entrance, and lay on the floor. The once-great Las Nevadas, soon-to-be greatest casino in the world, was now reduced to nothing more than a battlefield, a wasteland.

As Quackity surveyed his casino, he felt a great sadness overcome him. His plan was ruined. He knelt to the ground, lamenting. I looked up from my despair, stood up, and walked over to him.

"Are you alright?" I asked. Quackity shook his head.

"My casino...it's ruined," he wailed dramatically. "We- I- I had big plans for this place! It was supposed to be the best, and now it's ruined!"

I assumed that 'we' referred to him and his gang.

"It's not completely ruined," I told him, sitting beside him and patting his shoulder. "Look. I may have taken this grudge a little too far, I admit. But I think that if we work together, we can fix this place up to be better than it was before!"

"Work together?" Quackity repeated. "Even after all we've done to you guys?"

"I think that it would be best for us, and for the sake of those reading for us to put aside our differences." I remarked. "That way our tale will end, and we won't be wasting anyone's valuable time."

Quackity smiled, extending his hand. "Partners?"

I nodded, taking his hand and shaking it enthusiastically. "Partners."

"WHAT?!"

An angry shout came from behind us. We stood up, and turned around to face Purple Guy, who was staring at us, dumbfound.

"After everything they've done...you're just gonna brush it aside like it's NOTHING?!" he shouted. "They killed Ballora, for God's sake! They're the reason that Comet's dead! I know you had a thing for her, Quackity!"

"That is true," Quackity said. "but I think-"

"I don't care what you think!" Purple Guy pointed his knife at us. "I came here under your orders to kill every one of these people, and I'm not leaving until my orders are carried out!"

Purple Guy then laughed, a sick, maniacal cackle that echoed through the casino, striking fear into the hearts of everyone there. He began to pace the room. "I think I'm gonna kill one of you now, just for the heck of it!"

He pointed at me.

"Eenie..."

He pointed at Ennard.

"But I'm on-"

"Meenie..."

He pointed at Smart Hulk.

"Miney..."

He stopped, glaring at Glitch, and slowly advanced towards them.

"YOU!"

"Wait!"

Purple Guy stopped moving as Squidward stood in front of Glitch.

"I won't let you hurt them!" he shouted, before turning to Glitch.

"Glitch, I love you! I love you more than sides, more than money, more than life itself!" he declared. "I will kill this guy if you want! I'll kill all of these people, just for you, my beloved!"

"Go away!" Glitch pushed him away. "I don't want anything to do with you!"

"I can't go away, Glitch," Squidward smiled evilly like the yandere he is. "I'll never leave you alone! I was meant to be yours! You were meant to be mine! I'm all you need! Can't you see-"

All of a sudden, a massive bolt of lightning fell from the sky- well, ceiling- and hit Squidward in the head. He screamed in pain as he fell to the ground, dead. Thor Odinson and Natasha Romanoff swooped in through the entrance of the casino and walked up to Glitch.

"Glitch, come with us," Thor said in his deep, manly voice. "There's someone we want you to meet."

Glitch nodded, smiling, and the three of them walked out the door. Thor used his hammer to transport all of them to a beautiful chaise lounge, where JD from Heathers was sitting on a motorcycle, shirtless. Glitch transformed into a pillow, and they lived happily ever after.

"...what the fuck?" Quackity asked.

"I don't know." I replied. "They got their happy ending. They found a simpworthy woman and two big, strong men to live with for eternity. I wish I was that lucky..." I finished sadly, remembering Techno.

"ENOUGH OF THIS!" Purple Guy screeched. He turned and glared at me. "YOU! You killed Ballora!"

"I did not!" I protested. "Besides, what does it matter? Do you have a thing for her or something?!"

"I- That's besides the point!" Purple Guy stammered, flustered. "The point is, you killed her! You will pay for her life with yours!"

He rushed at me, raising the knife. A pang of fear coursed through me as I realized that I was weaponless. Just before he reached me, he stopped moving, a look of terror passing through his eyes. I looked down to see the end of a sword sticking out of his chest, blood pouring from the wound. He collapsed, revealing the owner of the sword, and I gasped.

"T- Technoblade...?" I whispered, unable to believe my eyes. He smiled.

"NOT EVEN CLOSE, BABY, TECHNOBLADE NEVER DIES!" he shouted in triumph. "Never question me again! I don't care if they have a whole army, I don't care if twelve guys are after me, I am incapable of death! No armor, no weapon, doesn't matter, I do not die! I do not die!"

He stepped closer to me. "And besides, I couldn't die knowing you were still alive, Wonder."

This brought a tear to my eye. "Techno...I-"

"Listen, Wonder." Techno said. "When I was about to fall, all I was able to think about was you. I couldn't die if you were in danger. I would do anything for you, Wonder..." he sighed. "I love you."

I looked up at him, shocked. "Techno, when we were on the roof together, I was about to say the same thing."

"You were...?" Techno asked, astounded.

"Of course," I said, stepping up to him. "I love you too."

Techno brought a hand under my chin, causing me to look up, and pressed his lips against mine. I quickly melted into the kiss, pulling myself closer to him. For a moment, it seemed like we were the only two people in the world, that everything and everyone had disappeared, until Quackity cleared his throat loudly. We broke apart, staring at him.

"Dude, what the fuck?" I demanded angrily.

"Sorry, but there's still a casino that needs fixing," he reminded.

"Oh yeah, true." I said. Quackity, Techno, Smart Hulk, and Ennard all looked up at me as I spoke.

"Let's get to work."
