Chapter 32

Lamais's pov

Knowing my position I humble before God, I look at Nicole and her two friends who stood there looking like they were trying to make a statement. I glance at Pastor Lester sitting with her head down staring at her bible and the thought of Msrah struck me, I didn't dwell on it though, whatever she feels toward me one should know that when doing God's work you have to put your personal feelings aside and do what sayest thou.

I felt myself getting light and I held my hands wide open and say. "Use mi Lord. Fight my battles for me Lord."

Giving up my spirit to the Holy Ghost that gives utterance. "Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!"

I see my members standing and worshipping, it was like I am in a trance and my voice did not sound like mine, people in the congregation begin to stand. "Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Lightening God! Thunderable God! Thunderable God! Thunderable God."

My whole being feel electrified and I begin to shake the band was playing low and the cymbals sent chills through me. "Ohhhhhhhh," I shouted then there was a bright light from outside.

I was shaking so much I could not keep standing, I feel like I'm on fire and I am being electrocuted. "Wosh Eli mesine anuy man nana," the spirit gives utterance and then there was a great slap of thunder that shook the church.

My spirit calm while others were jumping about in spirit, I realize I was down at the back of the church and I begin walking back up to the rostrum. Nicole and her two friends hasted out of my way tripping over themselves and stumbling, I walk upon the rostrum took up bible and place it in my bag. Then I took up my cordless microphone and said. "I now turn over the rest of the sermon to the host pastor, thank you all for having me."

They all stared at me as I sing and walk out of the church with my bag in my left hand and my right hand raise to the heavens.

"On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other grounds are sinking sand.."

I sing while I dust off my shoes, my members look at me then did the same and we loaded into my vehicles and drive back to our community and our homes. I sang all the way home, with Shanty and her children singing with me. I tell everyone a pleasant good night as we drop them off and when I went to bed that night I felt so free, I say my prayer and slept peacefully.

"Ma'am, a waan ask yuh a question," Shanty says on Monday morning as we worked in the outside kitchen making 𝙋𝙐𝙇𝙇 𝘿𝙄 𝙏𝙄𝙀 𝙊𝙄𝙇.

Sounds like she has a lot on her mind I think before saying. "We're alone."

"A wha happen Friday night?" She asks.

Her facial expression was just like the others the night before and I reply after careful thinking. "God works in mysterious ways that sometimes is best left unquestioned, I think he wanted me to leave and so I did."

"I just can't help feeling like something is wrong, the whole service last night and- maybe it's just me," she said miserably.

I look at her as my thoughts went to Msrah, Pastor Lester might feel I'm stealing away her members. Msrah and is three children that's four members in all, if he marries Shanty he and his children will no doubt come to live here in Whitehouse and will undoubtedly be attending my church.

Dear Jesus, I seem to not have been focusing on things, I said in my head. Pastor Lester may have been hoping to get Cushane as a new member, but Nicole had left to come and join him here and then Msrah is now dating Shanty. Even though they are keeping their business quiet, now I know the real reason why he hasn't been getting any support from that side.

In a reasoning tone I say. "I had thought once I get to the age of twenty I will understand everything as a read-er woman, I'll be twenty-three in two months time and I still don't understand half of it. I am doing as grandma instructs me to do, take note of my surroundings always and whenever something doesn't feel right, pray incessantly."

I sighed then added. "I had thought Pastor Lester was a true woman of God, but apparently I'm wrong and I'm not judging her. The day she came here my spirit gave off an energy I could not decipher, because of what she told me about Nicole I had assume it is the news that she brings. Days has past and the truth reveals itself, pray about how you feel and I will too."

"Your response has made me feel comforted, I had thought I was the only one feeling that way and had blaming my over thinking," she explains.

"Humn! So you think I am going to burden you each time I have such feelings," I said making a face at her.

She smiles then said. "No, I know you like to keep all your worries and problems to yourself, it's only because Cushane is an actual person why I was told about him."

"Come here you disturbing woman! Hi hi," I exclaim laughing and stretching to catch her.

She hasted away escaping before I could get a hold on her chuckling, I laugh and threaten her. The gate buzzer beeped and she walk to the front and I went over to the read-ing room. I put on my red robe and head wrap, then walk into the read-ing area to await Shanty who I could hear still talking to whomever.

"Ma'am, di meat man wey mi buy from a market and his common law wife is here for read-ing and they brought a small gift of some meat kind," Shanty informs me.

I looked at her and she nodded. "Ok. Do they want to be read together or separately?" I said then ask.

"Mek mi guh ask," Shanty says and hurried away to the front sitting area.

I took out a large black candle and lit it beside some small purple ones, butchers don't come here regularly and when they do it is normally someone stealing from them. I better be prepared for anything I tell myself and lit another large black candle.

"Ma'am the man is coming first," Shanty says when she re-enters.

"Send him in," I said and sat down.

"Hello, blessed morning or I think it's afternoon," he says upon entering.

I glance up on the wall and say. "It's twelve in the eye so it's afternoon to you sir, you may sit and tell me what brings you here."

He sits and said. "A'right suh, mi sell meat ina Sav market me and mi 'oman, from mi guh dey mi a get a fight now it worst. Mi sell, mi have loyal customers like even di lady wey just let me in, she always buy from mi. Every morning from wha day yah, when mi go a mi stall di place wetty wetty and some white substance dey pon di grung, almost every day if mi nuh careful mi or mi lady almost cut off wi hand or somn."

"Look directly at me," I tell him then I begin to hum The Lord's my shepherd.

"I can pray you up for the rest of this week while you look another place to do business and tell your customers about it. Pray also that's the most powerful thing you can do," I tell him.

"Thank you very much ma'am," he said getting to his feet.

"You're welcome, please tell the woman to come," I acknowledge and tell him.

He dropped ten grand in the silver dish and went out, the woman came in and I tell her to look directly at me.

I end the reading there di rest a har story she know suh mi naffi tell har. She drop my ten grand in the silver dish told me thanks and went out. I press the little button on the side and the money went down into the safe underneath the table. I out the candles with a sigh and went out through the back wondering how some women took so many dicks.

She was giving him bun more than he was giving her.
