PLOT

ONCE UPON A TIME...

Light and dark have always coexisted from the very beginning of time. That was how it worked in the natural world...and the magical world. You could never have one without the other. Because of this, each had a protector. Someone to ensure that dark magic was always there to cause destruction, and light magic was always there to bring joy. The keepers were far from the same, and yet they needed each other to keep the world balanced. For if the balance was broken, chaos would consume the world.

And no one needed that kind of chaos.

The first Dark One was created as the protector of dark magic with only the Dark One dagger as their weakness. They traveled the world, leaving nothing but ruin in their path. They lived for centuries without aging until someone claimed their power with the dagger, becoming the next Dark One. Then there was the first Light Keeper, who was gifted their magic from the moment they were born. They would travel the world to use their magic to help those in need. Unlike the Dark One, the Light Keeper lived a normal life, experiencing all life stages as they aged. Their magic wasn't passed down until their journey came to a natural end.

It was time for a new Light Keeper to be chosen.

Kiran Upland was born to a very powerful witch in the land of Oz. Glinda was known throughout the lands as the Good Witch, spreading happiness everywhere she went. It was no surprise to anyone when her newborn daughter was gifted the powers of the Light Keeper. But what Glinda didn't expect was for a prophecy to come on her daughter's fifteenth birthday. A prophecy that forced Glinda to say goodbye to Kiran, who was still learning how to control the magic of the Light Keeper. But no one had the power to put off the prophecy. Kiran had to go by herself to the Land Without Magic to find and protect Emma Swan.

She had to protect the Savior from the dark.

NOTES

▻ Kiran and Hook will have a slowburn relationship. He will be the one to show interest first, but she will constantly push him away because of the darkness surrounding him. They will have a lot of cute moments throughout the story. Their relationship won't start until Hook gives up his quest for revenge, which takes away his dark aura.

▻ Kiran is the reason Hook gives up his quest for revenge against Rumplestiltskin.

▻ Kiran can see how much darkness a person's heart holds. She can sure some hearts of their darkness, but not all of them.

▻ She arrives at the same orphanage as Emma when she first gets to the Land Without Magic. The two of them develop a very strong friendship. Kiran is very protective of Emma Swan because of the prophecy. 

▻ Kiran takes the name of Nora Lightwood when she arrives in the Land Without Magic. 

▻ David and Mary Margaret take in Kiran after the Curse is broken. The see her as a second daughter and treat her the same way they treat Emma.
