PLOT

The First Wizarding War plunged the world into an era of despair. Homes crumbled, loved ones vanished, and countless lives were lost. Despite the darkness, there was some light. Family ties became unbreakable as they worked to protect each other. Unexpected alliances blossomed, bringing some hope against overwhelming odds. And amidst it all, new families arose, including one formed by Sirius Black and Lucinda Prewitt. But this beacon of hope was brutally extinguished. Sirius broke his vow to Lucinda, leaving her with a shattered heart and a child on the way. The darkness grew darker when a curse claimed her, taking her away from her newborn son.

But Luke Black wasn't alone.

Eleven years later, it was time for Luke to begin his studies at Hogwarts. He had grown up surrounded by the Weasley family, so he had no worries about being alone at the school. Luke knew he would be able to find one of his red-headed cousins somewhere. That's how it always was, and that's how it always would be. But there was also the other side of his family that roamed the halls. One of the wealthiest wizarding families. The Blacks. He envied that side of his family. It was never because of their wealth. It was because he craved the confidence that each of them held. The confidence that Luke wanted. Soon, he would get to experience his father's side of the family more. For he wasn't sorted into Gryffindor like his father and mother.

Luke was a Slytherin.

To his dismay, his House wasn't exactly welcoming. Everyone knew about his family disowning his father, making the Slytherins see him as an outcast. Lucky for Luke, not everyone saw him that way. His cousin, Orion Lestrange, was quick to take him under his wing. He showed him what it meant to be a Slytherin and how to succeed at Hogwarts. And the following year, Ursan Black started his schooling, completing their trio. Everything was starting to become even better than he could ever imagine. Just as Luke's life was starting to feel almost normal, his wand began acting up. It was sparking and casting spells at the most random times, but always when he was alone. Then one night, something strange happened. A voice came out of his wand, one claiming to belong to his father. And all he said was one thing.

Protect Harry Potter.

NOTES

▻ Luke spent a lot of time with the Weasleys growing up. They were the ones who raised him, even though Great-Aunt Muriel is his legal guardian. Their warmth is a stark contrast to the Blacks, who are very confident wizards.

▻ Everyone is shocked when Luke is sorted into Slytherin. They expected him to be sorted into Gryffindor like his parents.

▻ The Weasleys still love and care about Luke after he gets sorted into Slytherin. However, it takes him a while to realize that.

▻ While the Blacks are messy and petty, they're still a family who loves each other. Except for those who they disowned from their family. Despite disowning him, the Blacks never believed that Sirius killed James because of how close they were growing up.

▻ Regulus Black never found the Horcrux in this story, so he is very much alive.
