( chapter four )

𝐀𝐘𝐋𝐀 watched as Derek Hale, the owner of the burnt down house, got arrested the next day. She also watched as Stiles snuck into the cop car holding Derek and started talking to him. "Oh my god, he's an idiot." She drawled as Scott freaked.

After a minute, Noah dragged Stiles out of the car, looking very annoyed. They talked and Stiles joined the two at the jeep. He looked at Ayla, "why are you here again?"

Ayla rolled her eyes, crossing her arms. "In case you didn't notice over the past sixteen years you've been alive, my uncle is also a policeman. I don't even want to be here but Darron took the keys to my motorbike."

Scott leaned on the jeep, "you can always come with us, since you don't want to be here?" Stiles vigorously shook his head and Ayla thought of the best way to annoy Stiles. She smiled, "sure, thanks."

"Hey, Darron!" She called to the man a few metres away, who looked at her. "Can these idiots drop me home? I'm bored!" He nodded, giving her a thumbs up. "That was easy." She mumbled and turned to the boys, one looking annoyed, the other looking happy. "Let's go, losers."

As they drove, Scott scrolled on his phone, "I can't find anything about wolfsbane being used for burial."

"Just keep looking." Stiles demanded as he drove.

"I'll try." Ayla held her hand for the phone. Scott handed it to her as Stiles spoke.

"Maybe they bury you as a wolf. Or maybe it's like a special skill. You know like something you have to learn."

"I still can't believe you're a werewolf, Scott." Ayla said, absentmindedly as she typed into Google.

Stiles looked shocked, "you told her?!"

"I was bound to find out, calm down." The girl rolled her eyes. "You're not very secretive, you know."

"Maybe it's different for girl wolves." Stiles continued about the burial.

"Okay, stop it!" Scott grunted. Ayla and Stiles looked at him.

Stiles' eyes turned back to the road. "Stop what?"

"Stop saying werewolves! Both of you! Stop enjoying this so much!" He demanded. Ayla frowned at his sweaty skin and hoarse voice.

"Hey, you okay?" She asked.

"No!" He replied. "No, I'm not. I'm so far from being okay."

"You know, you're gonna have to accept this, Scott." Stiles said as his eyes fixed back onto the road. "Sooner or later."

Ayla tapped his arm, "Stilinski."

"I can't..." Scott grunted, holding his stomach.

"Well, you're gonna have to!" Stiles talked.

"No! I can't breathe!" He panicked.

"Stiles, pull over!" Ayla yelled.

"Why? What's happening?" The boy asked.

Scott opened Stiles' bag and pulled out the wolfsbane rope. "You kept it?!"

"What was I supposed to do with it?!" Stiles cried.

Scott groaned, his eyes flashing, literally, "stop the car!" Stiles slammed the brakes, the car coming to a screeching halt and the boys climbed out, Ayla also following, climbing over the seats.

Stiles launched his bag into the trees as Ayla watched. Stiles sighed, "okay, we're good. You..." he stopped as he turned. Ayla looked around, but Scott was nowhere to be seen. "Scott?"

"Shit."

They got back into the car and Ayla radioed dispatch, holding it up as Stiles talked, speeding down the road. "Stiles, you know you can't dial dispatch while I'm on duty."

"I just need to know if you've gotten any odd calls." Stiles spoke into the radio.

"Odd how?" Alexis, the lady at the station, asked.

"Uh..." Stiles looked at Ayla.

Ayla sighed, speaking into the radio, "like an odd person or dog-like individual perhaps roaming the streets?"

"Ayla?" She asked.

"Any calls?" Ayla demanded

"I'm hanging up on you two now."

"No! Wait, wait, wait!" Stiles yelled.

"Bye."

Ayla groaned and dropped the radio. "Really?" Stiles asked, "dog like individual?"

"Like you could do better!" She scoffed.

He's actually playing this stupid lacrosse game. Ayla watched as the team put on their helmets. Scott was playing first line in the lacrosse game, and he didn't know how to control his anger-werewolveness. Melissa came and sat down next to her and Darron as the white team (Ayla didn't bother finding out what school it was) and Beacon Hills ran out onto the field, people cheering. The game started and Ayla was stressing, which she didn't do much.

They scored, which was good. But Jackson stole the ball from Scott and he was the one who scored. Lydia and Allison held up a sign that read WE LUV U JACKSON and saw Scott looking at them. Ayla sighed, this will end well, she thought sarcastically.

Scott bent over, not showing his face which was a bad sign. Ayla got up, telling Darron she'd be back and sat down next to Stiles. Unfortunately. But she cared about Scott. He was a teenage boy who was going through things. Being bitten by a werewolf, battling school, having a girlfriend. You may be wondering why does Ayla like Scott so much more than Stiles when they're best friends.

When they were in Freshman year, Ayla was late to class and forgot her books. So she ran to her locker, grabbing her stuff and going up the stairs. But she heard someone under the stairs. The girl had gone back down the stairs to investigate and found Scott having a panic attack. She panicked, not really knowing what to do, but she reintroduced herself— even though he knew who she was. She gave the boy her noise cancelling headphones and played calming music and stayed with him until he was better. Did she miss the lesson? Yeah. Did she get a detention? Yes. Did she regret it? No.

As she sat down, Stiles breathed, "this isn't good."

"You think? He's definitely changed or... whatever you call it." Ayla wrapped her coat tighter around herself.

The referee put the ball down and blew his whistle. Everyone started cheering and the ball went up into the air. Scott jumped up and caught it, dodging everyone. "Oh my god." Ayla mumbled. Scott scored and everyone cheered and clapped. The score was now 4 - 5, the other team winning. Ayla cheered for him as Stiles jumped up, yelling and whooping.

"To McCall!" Coach yelled as they got the ball ready. "Pass to McCall!"

When the other team got the ball, the player turned, stopping when he saw Scott. The player willingly gave him the ball and Scott ran forward. Coach sat down, almost squishing Ayla. "Did the opposing team just deliberately give us the ball?"

"Yes, I believe so, Coach." Stiles nodded, chewing on his glove.

"Interesting." Coach said. He looked at Ayla frowning, "why are you sitting here?"

"Uh- better view." Ayla nodded.

Scott launched the ball and it broke the goalies net pocket, landing in the goal. 5 - 5. Coach and Stiles argued with the ref and Ayla got up, going back into the stands, having enough of the energetic boy.

When she sat back down, Scott was panting and she swore she saw yellow eyes. "Oh no."

Darron leaned over, "what'd you say?"

"Nothing!" The girl replied and he looked back at the game.

11 seconds left. 7 seconds. As two players from the opposing team ran at him, Scott launched the ball into the goal, scoring them the winning goal. Everyone jumped up, cheering and running onto the field. Scott had other plans, instead he ran into the school.

Oh no.

Ayla darted forward, running into Stiles. "Stiles! Scott's gone into the school and Allison followed him!"

Stiles' eyes widened and they ran off into the school. They searched the halls before coming to a stop in front of the boy's locker room. Ayla looked at the boy, "blood bath or do you think he's fine?"

"I'm hoping for the latter." He nodded before opening the door. He went in, Ayla following before he stopped when he caught Allison and Scott kissing. "God." He mumbled turning away and going behind a row of lockers.

"What?" Ayla asked, looking past his shoulder. "Ew." She cringed as moved away. "Stiles, you freak, stop staring." She hissed, pulling him back.

They broke away and Allison giggled, "I gotta get back to my dad." She pecked his lips before walking away briefly saying hi to the two.

"Hey." They both nodded, before Stiles moved forward. Ayla stayed where she was, crossing her arms.

Scott walked up to him, grinning. "I kissed her."

"I saw." Stiles nodded.

"She kissed me."

"I saw that too." They stood in silence before Stiles asked, "it's pretty good, huh?"

Scott stammered, "I don't know how, but I controlled it, I pulled it back. Maybe I can do this, maybe it's not that bad."

"Yeah." Stiles chuckled. "We'll talk later then." He patted Scott on the shoulder before moving to walk off.

Scott stopped him, "what?"

Stiles sighed and Ayla moved forward, "the medical examiner looked at the other of the body that we- you guys- well, we found."

"And?" Scott asked.

"Well, I'll keep it simple." Stiles said, "medical examiner determines killer of girl to be animal, not human."

"And, Derek is human, so Derek isn't the killer. Derek is out of jail." Ayla nodded.

"Are you kidding?" Scott asked, looking between the two.

"No, and here's the bigger kick in the ass," Stiles sighed, "my dad ID'd the girl, both halves. Her name was Laura Hale."

Scott's mouth dropped, "Hale?"

"Derek's sister."

Fun Fact: Ayla's Hogwarts house is Slytherin.
