Lyla sighed in relief when her eyes landed on Allison, halting her attempts at trying to get ahold of Scott, Derek or Stiles.

"We can't get ahold of anyone. I think the storms cut out some of the phone lines." Allison sighed in frustration, Lyla reaching a supporting hand out to her shoulder.

"How's Lydia?" Isaac asked, appearing behind Lyla with his phone out. "She's got bruising in her neck. They're taking her to a hospital downtown because Beacon Memorial is being evacuated."

Lyla frowned, looking out the window behind Allison as the lighting flashed brightly through the glass. Isaac sighed, "The storms that bad?"

"It will be. And I overheard an EMT saying the backup generators might be too old to last if the power goes out." Lyla released a heavy breath, tossing her head back in frustration. "Beacon Memorial..." Isaac looked down at Lyla, the blonde girl's mental lightbulb boing on as he did.

"That's where Cora is." She mumbled as Argent approached the three. "I'm taking you three home."

Isaac shook his head, moving past Argent, "No, I have to get to the hospital." Lyla followed after the boy, with an agreeing nod, "We can't leave Cora there with just Peter."

Lyla took large steps to keep up with the tall boys' long legs, "Lyla! Isaac!" The two teens stopped, looking back at Argent as the man sighed, "I'll drive."

Suddenly, thunder rumbled through the town, the lights overhead going down, sending the hallway into almost total darkness. Lyla curiously looked up and around the hallway, "There goes the generator."

β˜½π“‹Όπ“Šπ“‹Όβ˜Ύ

Lyla glanced over at Isaac, who sat nervously in the back seat with her. It was pouring rain now, the storm now in full effects. She didn't know if it was connected to the Darach, Miss Blake, but she felt something in the back of her mind; a sense of impending doom. They were on to the last set of three; and she already had Sheriff Stilinski.

It's a battle that must be fought, but cannot be won.

The car screeched to a stop, the four quickly exiting Argent's car. The other three ran ahead of her, the blonde looking up at the almost full moon. They were running out of time.

Quickly, she followed after the others into the now abandoned hospital, "Looks like the evacuations over."

"Are either of you catching a scent?" Allison questioned, turning to Lyla and Isaac. Lyla turned her head up to attempt to get a whiff of anything, but all she could smell was rain. Isaac did the same, shaking his head, "No, not with the rain this heavy."

The group moved further into the hospital, Lyla attempting to pick up on some kind of indicator of the others whereabouts, "Should we split up?"

"Not a chance." Argent whispered as the rounded the corner of the reception desk. The man cocked his gun, Lyla looking nervously over at him. Isaac mirrored her look, "I'm gonna take that as a sign you're a little worried." Argent looked back at the three, "Stay close to me."

Isaac paused, looking behind them, then back at the hallway in front of them, "What? Do you hear something?" Lyla whispered, face softening as he nervously looked around with a nod. She heard the fast paced walking below them, knowing someone was coming. But Isaac needed to start using his senses, start learning to listen to them and take advantage of them. Derek was his Alpha, yeah, but he basically only taught the kid how to kinda fight, and how to leverage his turn, but he never got around to learning how to hone into his abilities.

"Where?" Allison kept her voice just barely at a whisper, the three watching as Isaac pointed to the floor "Below us." Lyla attempted to listen in, ears perking up at the sound of footsteps as Isaac dropped to the floor to hear better.

The group sent nervous glances at each other, before slowly heading towards the stairs, Argent leading the way with his gun drawn. Before they rounded a corner, Lyla's hearing finally kicked in, "Someone's there." Argent nodded, cocking the gun quickly as they approached the corner.

Scott appeared with wide eyes, Argent pointing his gun back at the ground as Scott looked at the four in bewilderment, his mother stepping out behind him from the corner. Scott nodded towards one of the rooms, the others following him with haste.

Scott sighed in frustration, "Stiles is in the ambulance out back with Cora and Peter, but Kali took the keys so they can't get out of here. Derek and Jennifer are stuck in the elevator, and the twins, Kali and Deucalion are here for her. I don't think they're planning on walking out of here without her."

"So, then they're essentially trapped?" Argent questioned, opening the swinging doors of the morgue, "Yeah, right."

"There's no way of getting them out without turning the power back on." Isaac piped in as they crowded around the metal examination table. "But, wait, wait, wait, if the powers back on, they're gonna hear the elevator moving, right?" Melissa, Scott's mom spoke up, turning to look at her son. "And they'll be on Jennifer and Derek as soon as it stops. We can't get in a fight with them." Scott looked between each of them with worried eyes.

"You've got us now."

"It's too much to risk. They want her dead, and if she dies, there's nothing we can do for Stiles' dad or Cora." Argent sighed in confusion, "I don't even think I know which teacher this is."

"She's uh-" Isaac gestured to his hair, "She's the one with brown hair. She's kind of hot."

The group paused, looking up at him. Lyla raised a brow at the boy, causing him to stutter, "No-" He cleared his throat, "It's just- just an observation." Lyla scoffed, a small smile playing at her lips before Allison spoke up. "I've got an idea."

Lyla looked over at Allison, who shrugged, "They're stuck between the shaft and a floor right? There's room to reach down to them?" Scott nodded, "I'll switch clothes with Jennifer, run outside and my dad and I can distract the Alphas long enough to get the power back on and both of them out safely."

Lyla nodded, the idea triggering one of her own, "And while you're distracting them, one of us will swing the car around back towards the ambulance and get Stiles, Cora and Peter out of there." Scott blew out a breath, nodding as he pulled out his phone to text Derek, "It's a good enough plan for me."

Lyla shrugged, taking Allisons jacket from her, "It's the only plan."

π“‹Ό

Lyla chewed on the tip of her fingernail anxiously, yanking it from her mouth when Isaac's phone began ringing. He set it up on the phone holder, answering Allisons facetime call.

"You ready?"

Isaac sighed, looking over at Lyla who sent him a nod, "Yeah."

"You're not nervous are you?"

"Do I look nervous?"

Lyla raised her eyebrows, looking down at the now ruined polish on her thumb "I am."

"No. Not at all."

Allison placed the phone down on the ground, facing an empty hallway. "Does he look nervous?"

"Terrified."

Lyla stifled a laugh, looking in the side mirror to ensure no one was coming up behind them. "Yeah. I can still hear you, very, very clearly."

Allison's face reappeared on the screen, "Just go as soon as you see them, okay?"

"Yeah, yeah. I got it."

The sound of the two running away slowly disappeared, and Lyla nervously looked over at Isaac, who was anxiously staring at the phone screen.

She wanted to say something. Anything. But before she could even think of what to say, the twins came barreling down the hallway. The moment they were off screen, Isaac ended the call and put the car in drive, taking off towards the back entrance where the ambulance is.

The wheels screeched around a corner as Lyla tuned into the gunshots in the distance. "Glad that worked." She grunted when Isaac slammed on the brakes by the ambulance.

Lyla quickly got out, swinging the ambulance doors open as Stiles and Peter wheeled Cora closer. "C'mon! C'mon!" Isaac shouted, Peter picking Cora up and putting her in the backseat while Isaac opened the door for Peter. Stiles stopped, backtracking towards the ambulance doors.

"Stiles, let's go!" Lyla shouted, stopping at the passenger door to look back at him. Her mouth fell agape as he ran back towards the hospital, Isaac calling after him.

Lyla swallowed thickly, looking between Isaac and the spastic boy disappearing into the building, "I've got him. Go!"

Isaac stepped forward before she could get too far, "No! Lyla, if they catch you, they'll kill you for helping Jennifer! You know they want your sister and you're the only thing stopping Jo from joining them!"

Lyla turned her head to look at him, deciding in that moment that if she did end up dying, that's fine. Jo would never join the Alpha pack, especially not if they're the ones that killed her. She was ready. Whether it be Jennifer, Kali, Deucalion, or the twins. Stiles didn't have any way of defending himself in there. If she died trying to save her friend, she would be okay.

Quickly, almost in slow motion, she rounded the car and stepped up to Isaac, grabbing his neck and pulling him down to her height. She slammed her lips against his hastily, attempting to savor the feel of his lips against hers for the short kiss. It was a new sensation, she'd never kissed anyone before, and she didn't even know if she had done it right. But it was like sparks flew from her lips to her fingertips.

Lyla suddenly understood why her sister was always chasing after love though; it was blasts of warmth, and arrays of blues, purples, oranges and pinks, similar to the world's finest sunset.

Before she could truly process it, or sink into it, she was pulling away from him, "In case I die."

She turned on her heel before he could say anything, running after Stiles into the hospital. God she wished she didn't do that, Oh my God! Why did she do that? She couldn't have just said 'Don't worry, I'll be fine. Get them out of here.'

But no.

She just had to kiss him. Now, if she survives, she has to look him in the eyes as he breaks her heart and distances himself from her because she decided to randomly fucking kiss him!

Oh my god, what if Isaac was lying to her to protect Allison and they actually were secretly together! Then she'd lose two friends. Oh, she's so stupid!

With a sad sigh, her ears perked up at the echo of his running, and she was quick to catch up with him. "Stiles!" She rounded the corner not a second after him, sighing in relief as he came to a stop in front of the elevator.

She reached out to grab his arm, but her reach fell short when she saw Derek unconscious on the floor of the elevator, no sign of Jennifer. "Shit. Stiles-"

"It's guardians, Lyla!" Stiles turned to her, placing a shaky hand on her shoulder, "Not law enforcement. That's why she took my dad; not because he's a cop, but because he's a guardian. And she's gonna take Melissa." Lyla stuttered, unable to form a response before Stiles was slamming the emergency staircase door open, "Scott!" He shouted, running up the stairs. Lyla scrambled after him, feet tiring as they finally reached the roof.

The two busted through the door, Lyla taking a subconscious step back at the sight of Deucalion.

"Scott. Scott, don't do this. Don't go with him." Stiles pleaded but Scott shook his head, "I don't know what else to do."

"No, there's-" Stiles' words caught in his throat as he took a large step closer to the other two. Lyla stepped forward to grab Stiles by the elbow and back towards her, just in case Deucalion tries to give Scott a real reason to join the Alpha pack. "Scott, there's got to be something else, okay? We always- We always have a Plan B."

Scott turned towards his friends, Lyla shaking her head pleadingly, "Scott..." She whispered, fear coursing through her when she looked past him at Deucalion.

"Not this time." The Hispanic boy turned back to Deucalion and walked towards him. "Scott." Stiles begged, but Scott turned back towards the quickly, "I'm gonna find your dad. I promise." Scott turned back to the man and followed after him. "Scott!" Stiles shouted, but his friend didn't listen, and the disappeared behind the smoke.

"Stiles," Lyla mumbled, pulling his arm back towards the staircase, "Stiles we gotta get out of here. We can't help your dad if the twins kill us."

Stiles turned towards her, glancing back at where Scott was before nodding. "Okay, okay." He turned her around by the shoulders, placing a hand on her back to guide her back through the doors and down the stairs to where Derek was, Stiles making a frantic call to 911 as they did.

"We gotta get him up." Lyla muttered, dropping to the floor and shaking Derek. When he didn't wake up, Stiles dropped to the floor on the other side of the man and landed a sharp slap against his cheek.

"Derek! Derek wake up!" He sent another slap, but he didn't even flinch. "Derek, come on!" Stiles pleaded with another slap, bringing his hand back up before forming it into a fist.

Just before his fist made contact with Derek's cheek, the man's eyes snapped open as he grabbed Stiles' fist. "Oh, thank God!" Lyla cried, placing a relieved hand on Derek's chest to balance herself.

"Where is she?" Derek looked around at the elevator, eyes landing on Lyla, the girl scoffing at the Alpha, "Who? Your psychotic booty call? She's gone, with Scott's mom."

Derek frowned, "She took her?" Stiles nodded, face laced with a worried look covered by sarcasm, "Yeah, and if that's not enough of a kick to the balls, Scott left with Deucalion, okay? So, we gotta get you out of here."

Derek shook his head, Lyla glancing around nervously, "The police are coming right now, and we gotta get you the hell outta here." Stiles grabbed Derek by his shirt and lifted him from the ground, but Derek pushed him off, "What about Cora?"

Lyla groaned, reaching out and yanking Derek off the floor, "Isaac and Peter got her out of here, which means we need to get you out of here."

Derek nodded, leaning against Lyla as he regained his strength. The three of them quickly ran towards the hospital entrance, Stiles stopping just before the exit, "I gotta stay here and wait for the cops, I'm the one who made the call. I'll stall them."

Lyla shook her head, about to plead with him, but a loud howl rang through the wind. It was a retreat of the Alphas. Lyla nodded, stepping backwards towards the parking lot, but eyes still on Stiles, "Be safe! Call me if anything happens." Stiles nodded nervously, Lyla spinning around just as Derek's car pulled up. She yanked the door open as the car screeched to a stop, the man not waiting for her to close the door before he took off out of the parking lot.

"Where are they headed?" Derek asked as he turned out of the parking lot, back tires spinning and sending the back of the car outwards, Lyla gasping as Derek corrected the vehicle. "Um, uh, Bett's Grocery."

Derek nodded, speeding off in the direction of the Grocery store that sat less than 45 seconds from the hospital. "Derek. I- Scott he- he went with him-"

"Scott will do anything to protect his mom, but don't underestimate his hero complex. He won't do anything he doesn't have to." Derek muttered as he braked roughly, the tires screeching as he stopped in front of the silver Toyota, Isaac, Argent and Allison standing in front of it.

Derek hopped out, followed by Lyla. Her eyes caught Isaacs, the girl awkwardly biting the skin of her lip, "Where's Scott and Stiles?" Allison asked over the wind as Derek threw open Argent's back door, "Stiles is still at the hospital, he's gonna hold off the cops for us. We have to go right now."

Isaac closed the door for Derek as he pulled the still unconscious body of Cora out. "What about Scott and Melissa?" Argent asked, Lyla stepped back a step and opened the back door so Derek could place Cora in, "Jennifer took Melissa," Lyla looked at Argent sorrowfully, holding the back door open as Derek rounded the car to get to the driver side.

Allison shook her head, "What about Scott?" The man ignored her, causing Allison to step forward angrily, "Where is Scott?"

Lyla sighed, "He went with Deucalion, Allison. He promised he could help find Melissa. I'm sorry!" She frowned, jumping into the back seat and placing Cora's head in her lap, moving the girls dark hair from her sweaty cheeks. Isaac hopped in the front seat as Derek started the car, the man peeling off in the direction of his loft.

β˜½π“‹Όπ“Šπ“‹Όβ˜Ύ

Lyla stood near the closed door of Derek's loft, hand covering her mouth as Cora's lips began to line with black blood, the weak girl letting out pained whimpers. "She's dying, isn't she?" Isaac asked, the older man shrugging, "I don't know."

"So, what are you going to do?"

"I don't know." Derek whispered, worriedly shaking his head. Isaac scoffed, scratching the back of his head before placing his hands on his hips. The blonde boy stared a the scared girl standing off to the side, eyes trailing over her tights and skirt covered shaking legs, up to her sweater covered hand over her mouth. He could smell her fear, which just added more anger to his frustration with his Alpha. "Want to figure something out, then? Because while Scott and Stiles were out there, trying to help people from getting killed, you were in here. Rolling around the sheets with the actual killer."

Isaac bent down so he was level with Derek, "Do you get how many people she's killed? Erica and Boyd are dead, Cora is dying, and you are doing nothing?" Isaac was shaking as he raised his voice, the boy standing to his full height with tears in his eyes. "Why'd you do this to us, Derek?"

Lyla's eyes flooded with tears, blinking them away quickly; if she cried even a little now, it'd just be a geyser.

"Was it all about the power? Were you bored?" Isaac stepped towards Derek, his tears turning into anger as he bent down to Derek's level once more, "Were you lonely?"

"Maybe." Derek whispered, peeling his eyes away from Cora to look at his Beta. Isaac scoffed, stepping away from him and towards the door.

Derek sighed, "I told Cora I wouldn't leave. I'll help the others when I figure out how to help her."

"There's no time!" Isaac shouted suddenly, causing Lyla to flinch at his tone.

Her eyes followed the boy as he grabbed the handle, "The full moons coming. The sheriff and Melissa are gonna be dead." He looked back at Derek, before over to Lyla, reaching out to grab her hand and yanking open the loft door, "So, we're gonna try and help them." Isaac softly tugged Lyla out of the apartment, looking back at Derek pointedly, "You can sit here and perfect the art of doing nothing." And with that, he slammed the door closed.

Isaac pulled his hand from hers, wiping his face and walking away from the girl towards the elevator.

"Isaac..." She trailed off, following the boy into the elevator just as the doors began to close. "What the hell was that earlier?" Isaac turned towards the blonde, Lyla taking a step back and turning away from him to nervously face the elevator doors instead of him. "I don't know."

Isaac sighed, running a hand over his face. He didn't want her to kiss him, he didn't want them to kiss at all. Because it would confirm his feelings for her. What would his father say?

Lyla frowned, holding back embarrassed tears, "I'm sorry. I really shouldn't have done that. I don't really know what I was thinking. I really don't want this to ruin our friendship. I love being your friend."

Isaac sighed, dropping his head. God, he wanted to ruin their friendship so bad. He wanted to ruin everything about it. He wanted to stop tiptoeing around his feelings, he wanted to grab her hand when she was scared, he wanted to be the reason she smiled.

He couldn't kick his fathers voice out of his head.

No girl will ever look at you like that. Your brother got the looks, not you.
The moment a better looking, cooler lacrosse kid comes along, you'll be left in the dust.
Women are useless, Isaac. You have no need for one when you've got your hand.

She was quick to exit the elevator when it dinged open, heeled boots clicking against the tile of the lobby. She released a shaky breath and crossed her arms over her chest once she stepped out of the building and into the storm. It was no longer raining, but the wind was just as intense as it was earlier in the night.

It was close to early morning based on the position of the moon in the sky and the sun not yet peaking out from the horizon, but still lighting a quarter of the sky in its usual blue hue. "I should get home. Or get to Allisons. Stiles texted me a few hours ago saying he was at the Argents. You should go home." She spun to look at Isaac, blonde hair flying in front of her face, "See if Scott shows up."

"Swear to me."

Lyla furrowed her brows, moving her hair from the front of her face to behind her head, the locks waving aggressively in the harsh winds, "What?" Isaac sighed, looking out at the partially empty parking lot, "Swear to me you didn't want to ruin our friendship."

Lyla paused, mouth slightly agape at the question. She could answer him honestly, tell him that all she wanted to do was be more than friends. Or she could swallow her feelings and continue her act.

"Because I want to. I want to ruin it. I've been balancing on my feelings for you for almost two months now and with how close we are to the full moon, I'm not sure we can continue this game of cat and mouse. You can pretend it's because you were hurt that you thought I was seeing Allison behind everyone's back, but you reeked of jealousy. We've never been just friends, and I don't know if you straight refuse to believe it, but I realized it a while ago." Isaac cried out in one breath, Lyla's words catching in her throat as she stared at him.

"Two months?"

Isaac huffed loudly, tossing his hands up in the air before dropping it back to his sides, "Yeah. Yeah, just about."

Jesus Christ she was so stupid. She almost believed him for a second. Not a chance he liked her back, she saw the way he looked at Allison.

A boisterous laugh escaped her, turning away from Isaac swiftly, her hair whipping around in the wind as she began to cross the parking lot. He was fucking with her. He cannot be serious. "Not funny, Isaac. I'm leaving."

"Jesus Christ, Lyla." Isaac shouted over the wind, stomping over to her in 4 steps and pulling her back by the arm, "You piss me off so much." He whispered, cupping her cheeks and tilting her head up, slamming his lips against hers.

Her head was spinning, feet numb and knees almost buckling. She didn't have anything to compare it to, but it was the best kiss of her life.

It was almost instant relief for the two teens. Unknowingly pining for each other for weeks, stepping on eggshells around their feelings. It felt, almost disrespectful to everything that was happening around them. But they also both felt the looming disaster humming in the air; a fight brewing. And by the full moon in less than two days, they could both be dead. So, why not?

Lyla placed her hands on his shirt, balling the cotton in her fists and pulling him closer. His lips molded against hers, and if Lyla was religious, she'd say God sculpted them to fit perfectly with each other.

She pulled away with a small gasp for air, keeping their faces as close as she could, "I didn't-" She paused, locking eyes with him through her lashes, "So..." She pulled her lips to the side, "You're not into Allison?"

Isaac shook his head, moving her hair away from her face with a small smile, "No." He leaned back in, this time for a much slower kiss. When he pulled away, he pressed his forehead against hers, "Sorry in advance, if you're disappointed. I'm a little new at this." Isaac frowned, eyes reopening when he felt Lyla's hand cup his cheek.

"I'm a little new at this too."
