"I've got a job interview in 20 minutes, so I need the car." Jo spoke as she entered Lyla's room, making a beeline for her closet. Lyla rolled her eyes with a smile, watching her sister look through the closet and simultaneously remove the rollers from her hair, "What? Couldn't find anything in your 5 boxes and 3 bags of clothes?"

Jo glared back at her, "I found an outfit perfectly fine, I just need that one jacket of yours..." She continued to shuffle through her clothes that hung in the closet, and Lyla sighed, "Far right side, between my green dress and the red skirt."

"Ah! I love you!" Jo smiled, pulling the black business jacket out and throwing the hanger on the floor of the closet before strutting out of the room. Lyla scoffed, standing from her bed and walking over to the closet, hanging the hanger back up.

Her ears perked up at the sound of a heartbeat, not Jo's, before a knock on the front door echoed on the house.

"Lyla! Someone's here for you!"

Lyla raised an eyebrow, grabbing her red hoodie from the corner of her bed and pulling it over her tank top covered chest.

"Who?" She asked asked she descended the stairs, Jo standing in front of a closed front door.

The blonde woman smiled, "I don't know, but he's so cute! I need to know all the details of how you met him when I get home!" Jo scrambled to get her coat, keys and purse, placing a kiss on Lyla's head before swinging the front door open, "Nice to meet you, Isaac." Jo moved past the tall boy, who smiled down at her with his hands in his pants pockets, "You too, Miss Matthews."

When Jo was out of sight, Isaac turned back to a frozen Lyla, who's eyes were wide in shock. A leather jacket sat on his shoulders, over a gray shirt with jeans. "That's your sister? Jesus, I'm jealous." He laughed as he entered the home, closing the door behind him. "Get out." Lyla mumbled, but Isaac shook his head, "I need to know what you know about the Alpha Pack."

She shook her head, "I don't know anything, please leave." She gripped the edge of the stair railing, feeling her slip of control approaching, but Isaac shook his head, "Listen, we had a rough start, okay?" He smiled, a beautiful smile, one that Lyla had to peel her eyes away from. What's up with the guys in this town having beautiful smiles? "I'm Isaac." He held out a hand to the girl, her eyes flicking between it and his face, "Lyla." Isaac inhaled and pulled his hand back to his side.

"Great. Now I need to know whatever you know. My pack members, my best friends are missing, and they've been taken by this pack. And if you know something, I need you to tell me because we fear they might not make it through this full moon."

Lyla gulped, eyes flickering around the room, debating whether or not to tell him. Should she tell him they're some of the worst people in the world? Should she not?

Lyla bit her top lip, looking up at the desperate boy before nodding.

"We only encountered Ennis. But he was viscous, My mom and dad were Alphas of their own packs and when they met, they conjoined packs, and Ennis was a part of my mom's. He didn't like the idea of a conjoined pack and abandoned it. A few others followed him." Lyla took a seat on the last step of the stairs, Isaac leaning against the front door as she told the story. "I can only assume how he reached Alpha status, but a couple years after my mom passed, we encountered Ennis in Colorado, and he wanted Jo join them. She refused, and after a pretty bad fight, my sister and I have been on the run since. Trying not to be seen or noticed, or...discovered." Isaac nodded at her story, placing a finger over his lips.

"So, do you think they're trying to kill Derek's Beta's so that he'll join them?" He questioned, and Lyla shrugged, "That's a possibility, yeah."

"Okay, you've gotta tell this to Derek."

Lyla stood from the stairs, shaking her head, "No, Isaac, I'm sorry but I'm not involved in this. There are reasons we're constantly moving place to place. This pack is no joke, okay. If they find out we're here, that my sister is here, they will try to get her to join the pack. Which means killing me. I'm sorry, but I can't help you anymore."

Isaac inhaled, nodding. "I understand." He mumbled, turning around and opening the door. Lyla watched as he stepped through the door, before looking back at her with a weak smile, "Thank you, Lyla."

She mirrored his weak smile and nodded, shutting the door as he walked away.

She knew the risk of helping them was high, and she knew that at the end of the day, if they do find them, they won't need her anymore, just like all the other packs did. But she felt bad. For Isaac. His best friends, gone, and no way to find them. No way to win against this pack. If that was Jo, Lyla would beg for all the help she could find.

And maybe she could ensure that the Alpha Pack never saw her or heard she was there.

And before she could stop herself, her hand was twisting the doorknob back open. Swinging the door open, Isaac, who was about halfway down the driveway, looked back at her.

Lyla sighed, dropping her shoulders.

"Fine. Under one condition."

"And how exactly do you expect to help me find and rescue Erica and Boyd without them knowing you're here? Lyla, I can smell you and your sister from half a mile away and I'm nowhere near as experienced as these Alphas."

Lyla looked up at Derek, leaning against the support beam in his apartment. "They don't know we're here, so they won't be looking for us. And it's been almost 3 years since we encountered them, I doubt they'll remember our scent."

Derek sighed, straightening up his back and crossing his arms. "Isaac said you're fast. How fast?"

Lyla glanced over at a smirking Isaac, before looking back over at Derek. "Uh-" She scratched her head, thinking of a comparison. "I've done track the past few years. Without holding back and just using werewolf speed, I can run the mile in about 28 seconds."

A flash of surprise crossed Derek's face, and the man looked over at Isaac, who nodded with a smile.

"I understand your fear of this pack, and I am thankful for the information. You can go home now, Lyla." Derek spoke, uncrossing his arms and walking over to his large window. Lyla furrowed her brows. Go home?

She shook her head, looking over at Isaac and then Derek, "What? No, I want to help."

"Lyla, you're 16-"

"So is Isaac." She grumbled, gesturing to the boy. "Isaac's my beta. It's his duty to help his pack. You, however, are not my beta. You have no duty or obligation to find them. You don't even know them."

Lyla sighed, swallowing her words. She wanted to help, deep down. She couldn't remember the last time she did something good with her gifts. Not since she ripped the innocence from someone. She couldn't even remember what it felt like to help someone. They'd always kept their heads so low and kept their noses out of others business.

"Listen, Derek. I know you want to know why my eyes are the color they are. That's why you don't want me to help. But know I'm not a killer. I'm not a murderer. That's all you need to know." Lyla's eyes glossed over as she stepped closer to the Alpha, and Derek sighed, tilting his head. "I want to help you find your friends. I'm fast and I'm great at tracking. Let me help you."

Derek inhaled slowly, debating her offer. She didn't outright say it, but he knew what she was saying. And he knew what it was like. Taking the life of someone who didn't deserve it.

"Fine."

"I know I was a dick when we first met, but in my defense I thought you were apart of the Alpha pack." Isaac spoke as he turned Derek's car down her street.

The moonlight shone against Lyla's cheeks, the streetlights flashing across their faces.

She shrugged, looking over at the boy, "It's okay, I get it. I did look suspicious." Isaac smiled with a nod, "Super suspicious."

As they approached her house, she furrowed her brows, "You know you didn't have to take me home? I'm perfectly capable of walking by myself."

Isaac shrugged, looking down at her, "Well with this pack out there, and us having no idea what they look like or where they are, it's probably better to be safe than sorry." Lyla nodded, "I see."

"Well," She turned to him as he parked the car in front of her house, "Thank you for the ride. I'll see you later."

Isaac nodded, before holding a hand out to her "Wait, your phone number, just in case." He mumbled, pulling out his phone from his pocket.

Lyla smiled, giving him her phone number, watching as he typed it into his phone next to her name.

"Goodnight, Isaac."

She hopped out of the car, closing the door and watching as he flipped it around and headed back down the street.

She liked him, he seemed nice. Derek on the other hand might take some getting used to.

But making friends made her nervous. She knows her sister, and she knows they'll be out in a few months. But she felt a pull towards the two, unmistakable, like the one that drew Jo to Beacon Hills.

She inhaled the night air deeply, before turning on her heal to face her house.

Jo was home, her car was in the driveway. Meaning she was going to kill her for being out until 10 o'clock and not telling her she left.

She slowly unlocked the front door, trying to be as quiet as possible so she could slip up the stairs.

"Delilah Jane Matthews where the hell have you been?"

She paused, face scrunching nervously as she took a step back, looking into the living room, where her sister sat on the couch with her back to her, glass of wine visible in her hand.

"Hey, Jo."

"That's not an answer."
