2016 | HYDRA UNDERWATER BASE — At this exact moment Iron-Man, Black-Widow and the Captain himself were on their way inside their disguised Quinjet to storm the alleged HYDRA underwater base, together with other allies from S.H.I.E.L.D.

After not too long, the three of them finally found the main entrance on land and were able to quickly find their way inside. Meanwhile they took down every HYDRA agent who got in their way. Stark was mainly responsible for eliminating the attackers, while Romanoff and Rogers were supposed to look for possible prisoners or anything else they could find.

But after a few moments, a terribly loud alarm sound echoed through the halls of the base, which indicated that HYDRA was probably in danger or under attack.

And that's why the three of them stayed together and knocked out any agents who got in their way. The team went deeper and deeper into the base until they came to a giant gate with a blood red skull symbol from which several tentacles protruded.

"50 bucks, if the giant octopus is in there." Tony grinned before attempting to blow down the door. He raised his arm and fired a blue repulsor beam at the door until there was hardly anything left of it.

When they entered, they carefully looked around and found a highly equipped gigantic laboratory with many doctors and agents inside of it.

Tony fought all agents who had special HYDRA weapons and tried to destroy every one of those damn weapons.

Natasha also went deeper into the laboratory and took down anyone who was throwing themselves in her way with the electronic widow-bites that she wore on her wrists.

Steve, on the other hand, knocked down all of his targets with his blue and red vibranium shield.

He kept walking deeper and deeper into the lab until he came to a part where he found what looked like an unconscious young woman. He wasn't sure whether to approach her, but instinctively he ran toward her anyway.

As he approached her, he slowed down, to make sure he wouldn't risk getting attacked by her. He saw her lying on the lab chair and noticed a bloody wound on her neck.

He was unsure at first, but believed that she was a prisoner and not an agent, which is why he now decided to help her. "Ma'am can you hear me?" He began, carefully trying to wake the girl. "My name is Captain Steve Rogers. Can you hear me?"

His voice was soothing, like a gentle ocean breeze. She heard neither anger nor coldness in his voice. It was something she hadn't heard in a long time.

Slowly she began to open her eyes and at first she only saw blurry outlines. In vain she blinked a few times, looked up and met a pair of blue eyes that were carrying some sort of concern within them.

When she finally regained consciousness, she tried to say something, but unfortunately her throat hurt too much because of the procedure. What did they do to me? She asked herself, feeling empty once more.

But then something else clicked inside of her. "Captain?" She whispered weakly, remembering the name.

„Are you a prisoner?" The young man asked, trying to regain her full consciousness. She just nodded and continued to look at him. Did she know him? Something inside of her told her he was one of the good guys.

But just as Steve was about to help her up, he suddenly heard a noise behind him and immediately turned around to see two armed agents who had their weapons pointed at the two of them.

Strucker surely did not want to leave his special enhanced all alone down here and had to take her with him. He probably sent those two agents for his dirty work, like he always does. But before the rays of the HYDRA weapons reached the two, they were blocked by the Captain's vibranium shield.

"Romanoff? Stark? I found a girl. Status update from your side?" The Captain spoke into his earpiece while he held off the weapons.

"Uh we're still pretty busy right now. " Tony said, firing several repulsor beams. As soon as Cap saw his chance, he raised his shield and aimed at the enemy. After a thud from the two agents, the captain turned back to the girl, who looked at him with alert eyes.

She must be terrified, he thought. "We're here to save you, ma'am." He finally said, waiting for an answer or a sign.

The girl was afraid but felt as if she could trust the man in front of her. Somehow he seemed familiar to her...

Instead of an answer she stayed quite until she suddenly recognized faint footsteps slowly approaching the two, thanks to her increased hearing. She glanced quickly behind Steve and saw Strucker with a gun in his hand, who was trying to crash the Captain's plans.

With all of her strength Siren slowly pushed herself off the chair and tried to find some kind of balance on her new legs. She wanted to cry, but she had to be strong for herself.

She pushed herself past the Captain and now stood in front of him. But before Steve could do anything to stop the seemingly innocent girl, she brought up her arms in Struckers direction and let out a terribly loud scream.

The force of her scream was so loud that the sound waves struck Strucker against the nearest wall. The scream was even loud enough so that the rest of the Avengers could now hear it through the entire base.

"What the hell was that?" Tony and Nat asked at the same time but got no answer.

Steve looked down at her in shock and noticed how she staggered a bit and now tried to hold on to the lounger. Once more he looked back at Strucker and saw him with a device in his hand. He held it up and suddenly shouted: "HAIL HYDRA!"

Before Steve could even react, he heard a huge bang, followed by more and now knew that Strucker's plan was to blow up the base all along. But before he could throw his shield at Strucker, another explosion stopped him.

This one blew up the ceiling and dropped several large chunks of concrete and what else, that separated the two of Strucker and the team.

"Romanoff, Stark, the base is about to blow up!" Steve said coughing into his earpiece, the dust and smoke filling his lungs. And then he remembered, as his eyes widened in realization. He remembered that they were underwater. "We have to get out of here before we all drown." He tried to find a way out by trying to clear several lumps out of the way, but it was useless as more and more dirt and concrete fell down on them.

The only way out was through the water outlet which wasn't too far away from Steve and the girl. Siren tried with all her strength to get the captain's attention and suddenly pulled weakly on his uniform.

She pointed in the direction of the underwater exit and he somehow understood what she meant. "Is there an exit?" He asked whereupon she only nodded weakly.

Her whole throat hurt because of the scream with which she threw Strucker to the ground. The two now went towards the water exit.

She staggered a bit, so Steve carefully threw his arm around her and pulled her with him while she held on to him. The two of them stepped into the cold water that led to the ocean and were about to submerge when Steve heard another explosion.

The girl was already a few meters underwater, but Steve was still a little too close to the surface and felt the impact of the huge explosion that made him lose consciousness.

He slowly floated down and the last thing he saw was the girl who swam in front of him towards the exit before everything went black.
