Adalyn went downstairs to prepare the chicken soup for Lorelai. She went to her kitchen and opened the refrigerator.  She pulled out some chicken breast and veggies and placed them on the counter. She started cutting the chicken breast and placed it in a large stock  pot. She brewed the soup by adding water, salt and bay leaf. She started cutting onions, carrots, celery and a pinch of parsley and added them in the chicken. Then she let it simmer for some time. Once the soup was prepared she poured it in a container. Then she picked up the container, her phone, her camera and the house keys and went outside. She locked the door and began walking to Lorelai's house.

The current time was around 5 pm. The sun wasn't shining, but instead there were dark clouds signaling it would rain soon. But Adalyn didn't mind the weather. She prefers a rainy day to a bright sunny day. As, to her, it feels as if the sun concentrates sadness and pain in her while the rain washes it all away. Not only the rain, she also loves the breeze and the lightning and thunder.

Lorelai's house wasn't that far from Adalyn's house. It was only 5 minutes away. Adalyn reached her house pretty soon. Her house was quite large. It had beautiful creamy walls with many lights all around. There were many plants which complimented the creamy walls beautifully. Adalyn walked up to the door and rang the door bell.

Ring ring

The door opened, revealing a small girl with red fiery hair.

"Oh, hi Adalyn. How are you?"

It was Jessie, Lorelai's younger sister who was 12 years old.

"I'm good. How are you?" Adalyn asked, while hugging her. Their relationship was very sibling like.

"I'm great. Thanks for asking." Jessie smiled.

"Jessie dear who's at the door?"

This was Jennifer, Lorelai's mom.

"Oh, hi Adalyn." Jennifer greeted as she came out of the kitchen to the door where Adalyn and Jessie were standing.

"Hello Ms. Dawson." Adalyn greeted back.

"What's that in your hand?" Jennifer inquired, while pointing at the container full of soup in Adalyn's hand.

"This is just some chicken soup for Lorelai." Adalyn explained.

"Oh that's great! Give it to me, I'll heat it and pour it in a bowl. You can then take it up to Lorelai." Jennifer said.

"Okay." Adalyn handed the container to Jennifer.

Jennifer went inside and heated the soup. Then she poured it in a ceramic white bowl, kept it on a similiar white tray with a silver spoon. Adalyn picked the tray up and went upstairs to Lorelai's room.

Knock knock

Adalyn knocked on her door, but there was no reply.

"Lori?" Adalyn called out from behind the door.

"Lori? You here?" Adalyn called out again, while opening the door. Inside she saw a blonde girl sleeping peacefully. Adalyn quietly laughed to herself. She kept the tray and her camera on the bedside table and started to walk around the room. She had always loved the vibe she got from this room.  One wall of the room was entirely covered with pictures. There were pictures of Lorelai's family, Lorelai and Adalyn together, their family's together and pictures of Lorelai dancing. Lorelai loved to dance. Just as Adalyn wanted to pursue photography, Lorelai wanted to pursue dance.

Another wall was covered with posters of Lorelai's favorite Netflix shows like Stranger Things. That's her all time favorite show.

Adalyn slowly made her way to the chair kept besides Lorelai's desk and she sat there. She pulled out her phone and scrolled aimlessly through Instagram. Nothing seemed to appeal to her. But she was about to see one exciting post wnen she heard a voice.

"Addie? You here?" Lorelai said, with sleep lacing her voice.

"Yeah. Hi Lori." Adalyn got up from the chair she was sitting and went to sit in Lorelai's bed with her.

"Hi Addie." Lorelai hugged her.

"So how was school without me?" Lorelai further asked with a chuckle, as she knew Adalyn would get bored without her.

"It was boring."

"Sooo, nothing interesting happened?" Lorelai asked while wiggling her eyebrows.

"No! God get your mind out of the gutter Lori." Adalyn laughed.

"Okay okay." Lorelai laughed along.

"Oh wait, I almost forgot." Adalyn said while getting up from the bed.

"Wait what happened?"

"Remember you asked me to bring some chicken soup for you?"

"Oh, yeah aha my bad."

Adalyn balanced the  tray on Lorelai's lap. She picked up the spoon, scooped some soup with it, brought it close to her lips and blew the steam on it and drank it while making a loud sound. After swallowing it she screamed, "AAH IT IS SO GOOD!!"

Adalyn thanked her for it.

She pulled out her phone again, as she suddenly remembered about the exciting post. After seeing it, she started squealing.

"Addie what happened?" Lorelai asked, who was completely taken aback by surprise about why her best friend, who is practically her sister, squealing.

"Oh my god. Look at this." Adalyn showed the post to Lorelai.

When Lorelai saw it her eyes started to widen.

"Oh my god Addie! You have got to take part in it!" Lorelai screamed excitedly.

"Yes yes I know. And I will." Adalyn smiled.
