Thirty-two
"Best. Burgers. Ever!" Ruel screamed as he and everyone else walked out of the restaurant.
"Agreed!" Coco screamed just like her little brother. "Right Addie?" Coco turned around to face Adalyn, but she wasn't standing there. "Addie?" She called out, walking forward. There she saw the black haired girl, peering into a book shop.
"Ooh you like reading?" Coco asked as she stood with her.
"Yup. Love it." Adalyn said as she looked at more books. Unfortunately they both were outside and not inside, so Adalyn was looking at the books from the window.
"You wanna buy any?" Coco asked.
"I actually do." Adalyn said shyly.
"Then come on!" Coco said as she took Adalyn by her arm and began walking in the shop.
"Girls where are you going?" Before they both could go inside, Kate stopped them in their tracks.
"I want to buy a book." Adalyn explained.
"Oh that's nice. Well, me, Chelsea and Michelle are tired, so we are heading back to the hotel. Ruel is here only. We are going by the van only, so you three can come in an Uber." Kate explained.
"Okay." Coco said.
"Bye, take care." Michelle said as she, along with Kate and Chelsea sat down in the van and went back to the hotel.
"Come on Ruel." Coco said before walking in the shop with Adalyn.
"Coming." He said before walking inside.
As she went inside, Adalyn sped to look at the different books kept. Ranging from autobiographies to biographies and fantasies, this place was utterly heavenly for each and every bookworm known to mankind.
"Which book do you want to buy?" Ruel asked, walking up to Adalyn with Coco.
"This one." Adalyn said, holding up a book. The title read Sense and Sensibility.
"Seems cool." Ruel said.
"Yup, I've always wanted to read this one." Adalyn said as she looked at the cover.
"Oh my god! Eva?" Coco exclaimed. Ruel and Adalyn snapped out of their conversation and looked around to see Coco hugging a girl. "Guys come here." Coco turned to look at them and beckoned them to come.
"This is Eva. She was my friend when we lived in London." Coco explained while looking at Ruel and Adalyn. "When our family shifted to Sydney, me and Eva lost touch. But only a few years ago we both met on Instagram. We exchanged numbers after that. Since then we've been talking through text and FaceTime only." She turned to look at Eva. "How are you?"
"I'm good." Eva smiled. She was a tall girl, around 5'9 and had short golden hair with eyes a beautiful ocean blue.
"Hi I'm Adalyn." Adalyn smiled as she shook Eva's hand.
"Hello." Eva replied.
"And I'm Ruel. Hope you remember me." Ruel chuckled as he shook her hand. " 'Cause I don't remember you." He laughed.
"I remember you. You were just a tiny boy. But how can you remember me, you were very small." Eva chuckled as she shook his hand.
"And Coco I'm sorry we both couldn't talk during the past month. I blame uni." Eva sighed, looking back at Coco.
"Oh it's no problem. We can catch up now, if you want to." Coco suggested.
"Of course. You wanna eat something together?" Eve asked.
"Oh I just had lunch."
"Oh that's not a problem. Can we sit in a park I saw on my way here?" Eva suggested.
"Yes of course. Let's go." Coco smiled at her. "I'm going to a park with Eva. Both of you, go back to the hotel as soon as you can and tell mum I'm with her." She said to Adalyn and Ruel.
"Okay." Adalyn smiled.
"Great, bye!" She said before walking out the bookstore with Eva.
"Well," Adalyn turned around to face Ruel, "I'm going to buy this." She said, motioning to the book.
"Okay." Ruel said as Adalyn walked up to the counter. He followed her.
"Hi I want to buy this book. How much for it?" Adalyn asked the old man sitting at the counter. He took the book from Adalyn's hand.
"19 pounds." He said in a British accent.
"Okay." Adalyn replied. She handed him the money and he gave her the book after putting it in a small bag.
"Thank you." Adalyn smiled before walking out of the bookstore with Ruel.
"What do you want to do now?" Ruel asked.
"Well we can head back to the hote-"
"No! No. I don't want to go back to the hotel." He began to cry like a small baby.
"Okay. We won't go." Adalyn said as she laughed at Ruel's behavior.
"Why are you laughing?" He pouted, crossing his arms in front of his chest.
"Nothing, you're just very funny." She said, while laughing more. The angry look he had went away and was replaced by happiness and smiles on his face seeing Adalyn laugh. Her laugh was music to his ears and only made him happy. Adalyn got over her laughing fest and both of them began walking, in silence.
"We will give it a try in the future, right?" Ruel said after two minutes of silence, completely out of the blue.
"Yes of course. It's a little hard for me to not be able to do it now, but we will, and I promise." Adalyn smiled. "I'll probably come to Sydney."
"Wow really?!"
"Yup. Michelle suggested a fine arts college from where I can pursue photography and Lorelai can pursue dance."
"That's amazing! Oh my god I can't wait for it. There is so much I want to show you. And you can meet my friends too! Wow!" He said, planning each and every detail of Adalyn's possible future visit to Sydney.
"It's not sure." Adalyn said.
"Oh you have to come! I know which college Michelle must be talking about. It's very good and they even hand out scholarships. You have such a good chance to win one. Even Lorelai has a big chance to win one. I'm telling you, come to Sydney, please."
"I mean, I am most definitely going to consult it. It seems cool."
"Yes!" Ruel made a fist with his hand, signaling how happy he is.
"You're a nice person Ruel. Sure it sucks that we both can't date now, but I promised you, we will definitely do that in the future."
"Yes, I like you so much you have no idea. It's so hard not to hold your hand or to kiss you, but I think I can deal with it for sometime."
"Yup, feelings are most definitely mutual." She smiled.
"Wanna book an Uber back to hotel?" Adalyn asked further.
"Yeah sure let's go now." Ruel said as he and Adalyn sat down on a bench. She booked an Uber for the both of them. It came within a few minutes and they both were on their way to the hotel.

"Where's Coco?" Kate asked.
"She met Eva. They both are catching up on life." Ruel explained.
"Oh that's nice."
Ruel and Adalyn had reached the hotel and he suggested that she joins him and Kate in their room.
"Yes, she was very excited to talk to Eva."
A small silence fell among the three.
"Okay, spill it both of you." Kate said. Ruel and Adalyn looked at her with wide eyes.
"What?" Ruel asked.
"What all happened between the both of you?"
"Mum I told you, that day I was angry because of the music-"
"Ruel, I'm you mother. I know when my son is lying. Tell me, please."
"Ruel," Adalyn said, turning to look at him, "we can't keep this secret for long. We can tell your mum."
Ruel took a deep breathe. "Okay." He said, before turning his gaze from Adalyn to Kate. "The night I had my first concert, Adalyn and I coincidentally met outside in the garden. We both couldn't sleep, so we went out to the park. In the park we both kissed."
"Oh wow." Kate said, with wide eyes.
"We were interrupted by Olivia."
"Olivia?"
"Yup. She was in London too and she happened to be in the same park as us. She said that she wants to get back together with me, but I said that we couldn't. She even told why she left unexpectedly during her internship."
"And why was that?"
"Her mum died due to pneumonia. She had to leave." Kate frowned at this. "After she went, me and Adalyn kissed again. But-"
"I pulled away way too immediately after I realized that we can't do anything like this. I came running to the hotel, crying and Ruel came back later." Adalyn said. "I thought I was discreet when I went and came back to my room, but I wasn't. Coco knew everything and the next morning she asked me. I had no option but to lie to her."
"That day during breakfast when me and Adalyn both didn't eat anything, Coco understood something had happened between us, so she interrogated both of us. We ended up telling everything to her. After that, me and Adalyn decided to forget about everything that happened."
"But forgetting something so big became hard for us. The day I had my first proper photo shoot, Ruel suggested that we both meet again. I was a little unconvinced initially, but I decided to say yes to it anyways. So we met at night. Ruel said that we both should date secretly. But I said no. It led to both of us fighting."
"And like the first time, Coco knew that Adalyn had snuck out. She interrogated us, again. We told her everything, but that led to me and Adalyn fighting again."
"Coco said that me and her will go out so that I could get my mind off it. When we came back, we saw you in the hallway, pacing nervously. Then you told us that Ruel is reckless. Coco talked a bit with him and then she took me inside. Me and Ruel talked it out and decided to date in the future and keep it professional for now." Adalyn finished the story. Kate was looking at them with an expression no one of them could figure out.
"Mum?" Ruel called out.
"I- wow- oh my god." She said, barely able to form words. "So much happened. So, how are you two now?"
"We're fine now. We're able to keep it professional. And we're hoping that we will be able to date in the future." Adalyn said.
"Okay. It's good that all is solved. And if I'm being honest, you both deserve to be together." She said with a cheeky smile making both of them blush.
"Since Adalyn will be coming to Sydney's fine arts college-"
"It's not sure-"
"I'll make sure that you come." Ruel said. "When she comes-" Adalyn opened her mouth to speak but Ruel lifted his hand signaling she should keep her mouth shut, "then we can date."
"That's great!" Kate said.
"But it's not sure-"
"Oh Adalyn, I told you I'll make sure." Ruel sasses making Adalyn giggle.
"Okay." She said, giggling more.
