Thirty-six
"London looks beautiful, don't you think?"
"Yes it does."
Ruel and Adalyn were on the ferris wheel and were on the top. The day had started to become the night, as the lightness got replaced by the darkness. London looked breathtaking in all of it's magnificence. Lights were blinking here and there, gleaming like fairy lights in a bedroom.
Adalyn switched on her camera, trying to take in all of the beauty in front of herself through a picture.
"Beautiful picture." Ruel smiled.
"Thank you." Adalyn said, looking him in his eyes. They kept on staring at each other, but it wasn't an awkward stare. It was a calm one, as both of them tried to understand each other more and more.
"You're so beautiful." He whispered as he moved closer to her. He kept his hand on her cheek and moved towards her. When they were just millimeters apart, she latched herself on him and kissed him. He was taken aback at first, as he didn't expect her to make the move. But he kissed her back, her face in his hands. She had her arms wrapped around his neck.
She felt him like never before.
He felt her like never before.
The noises were already very feeble as they were high up in the sky. But they completely vanished during this moment. All they could hear were their own hearts thumping loudly. Their lips felt extremely soft against each other, making them go on and on and never stop. It was as if two long lost pieces reunited back again, and will never separate ever again.
She slowly pulled back and kept her eyes closed. He did the same and both of them rested their foreheads against each other. A smile graced his lips as he slowly moved his hands towards her own and intertwined their fingers.
She didn't want to open her eyes, as it would feel as if a dream came to an end.
He never wanted to let go of her, as it would feel the only person who understood him will leave.
Adalyn slowly fluttered her eyes open, their foreheads still against each other. She nudged her nose against his, making Ruel smile again. He turned around and sat back as she rested her head on his shoulder, their hands still intertwined.
"I'm so happy when I'm with you Adalyn." Ruel said softly.
"Me too. I feel complete with you." Adalyn replied.
A warm and comfortable silence over them, as both of them stayed in the position they were in. It was utterly blissful for each of them. Soon the ride came to an end.
"Adalyn come on we have to get out." Ruel said as he softly lifted Adalyn off his shoulder.
"But I don't want to go. It is so soothing here." She pouted.
"I know I don't want to leave either, but we can't stay here forever."
"I wish we could." Ruel chuckled at her comment. The same guard opened the door of their passenger car and both of them got out, hands still intertwined.
"Where's Co?" Adalyn asked when she couldn't spot the blonde.
"I don't know. Let me call her." Ruel used his free right hand to call Coco.
"Coco where are you?"
"We just got off the ferris wheel and you weren't here."
"At the cotton candy stall? We'll be there." He kept his phone back in his pocket.
"They're at the-"
"-cotton candy stall. I got it." Adalyn chuckled.
"Yup let's go." Ruel smiled as both of them walked to the stall.
They talked a lot on their way. It was beautiful how they both were becoming more and more open to each other and trusted each other a lot. Adalyn felt comfortable talking about everything that had happened to her in the past with him. Ruel felt comfortable talking about everything that bothers him with her.
"There they are." Adalyn said in between their conversation about their dream places to visit. Both of them walked up to the group. Everyone's back was towards them so they didn't hear that Adalyn and Ruel had come; except Coco.
She turned around to see both of them holding hands.
"Guys! You are holding hands! You don't want anyone to know about all of this." She said frantically.
"Oh my-" Adalyn said as she quickly ripped off her hand from Ruel's grip.
"Sorry I did this you know-" She began.
"No it's alright, I understand." He smiled as everyone else slowly came to know about their presence and began talking to them. Luckily, no one except Coco noticed that they both were holding hands.
"Cotton candy?" Ruel asked Adalyn.
"No." She shook her head. "I want to play games."
"Sure let's go."
"Coco you want to come?"
"Yup." She said as the trio walked to the area where there were games.
"What should we play first?" Adalyn mumbled to herself.
"What about that one?" Coco asked, pointing to a stall. They both followed her arm to see she was pointing at the game 'ring toss'.
"Ooh yes let's go. It's one of my strengths." Adalyn sassed.
"Really? We'll see." Ruel sassed back with a smirk on his face.
The three of them walked up to the stall. There were various toys kept at various levels in the stall. The person handed Ruel and Adalyn each four rings.
"Ladies first." Ruel said as he made way for Adalyn to play.
She threw the first ring, it landed on a large dolphin stuffed toy.
She threw the second ring, it missed.
She threw the third ring, it missed again.
She threw the fourth, and it missed. Again.
"There you go." The person said as he handed her the big dolphin she won.
"Your turn." Adalyn said to Ruel.
He threw the first ring, it missed.
He threw the second ring, he missed.
Hw threw the third ring, he missed again.
He threw the fourth ring, and he missed. Again.
"This game is rigged." He said as he walked to the two laughing girls.
"Why are you laughing at me?" He pouted as he crossed his arms in front of his chest.
"Guys don't." He groaned as he stomped his feet on the ground.
"There you go. You can keep it." Adalyn said as she gave him her dolphin.
"No you won it-"
"No you can keep it. Besides it seems as if you need it more than I do." She smiled before Ruel took the dolphin from her.
"Not fair. I wanted to win something for you." He pouted again.
"It's alright. You can win me something in another game." Adalyn smiled as the three of them began walking around, seeing and playing more games.

Day XII of the internship; 23rd October:
Current time: 12.30 pm
Adalyn brought the bear closer to her body as she cuddled more and more into the armchair she was sitting in. The flashbacks of last night came back to her.
"Yes! Whoo hoo! I told you this is my strength!" Ruel cheered. They were at the basketball game stall, and Ruel's each ball went through the hoop.
"What will you like to have sir?" The guy who worked in the stall, asked.
"That bear please." He said, pointing at the large fluffy blue teddy bear kept behind the guy.
"Okay." He turned around and handed Ruel the bear.
"This is for you." Ruel said cheekily, as he handed the bear to Adalyn.
"For me?" Adalyn asked.
"Yeah. You won me a dolphin, I won you a bear."
"Okay." She smiled before holding the bear.
"Thanks." Adalyn said.
"You're welcome. And thank you for winning me this cute dolphin." He said as he wrapped his arm around her shoulders and both of them began walking, with Coco on their side.
"Adalyn can you hear me?" Coco asked, making Adalyn snap out of her dreams.
"Yeah yeah you said something?" She asked.
"I was asking what are you thinking. What are you thinking?"
Coco asked.
"Nothing just-" Adalyn took a big sigh, "memories of last night. It was one of the best days of my life."
"I had so much fun too. Wait, what did you two do on the ferris wheel?" Coco smirked.
"Oh nothing we just- you know-" Adalyn spoke as heat rushed to her cheeks.
"Did you both kiss?" Adalyn simply nodded.
Coco screamed. "Oh my! How was it? Tell. Me. Everything." She said excitedly as she got up from her position on the bed and ran to the armchair on which Adalyn was sitting.
"It was perfect. The perfect place with the perfect person. Just perfect." Adalyn sighed happily.
"Really? Wow." Coco had a large grin on her face.
"Now I can't wait to come to Sydney."
_______________[Time skip]________________
Current time: 5.30 pm
"So this is you singing?"
"Yup. You didn't know that?"
"No."
"You didn't see the behind-the-scenes of Face To Face? It showed that I sang Pictures."
"No I didn't. Oh my god. Wow. You're so good!"
Adalyn and Coco were chilling in their room, listening to music. The song Pictures came on, which was played at the end of the Face To Face music video by Ruel. Adalyn didn't know that Pictures was sung by Coco.
"Thank you. And I'm shocked you didn't know that."
"Sorry. I didn't see any behind-the-scenes of Ruel's videos. But your voice is amazing! You're even better than Ruel."
"What?" Coco looked at her with widened eyes.
"I said you're even better than Ruel." Adalyn said in a cautious tone, not knowing what Coco meant when she said 'what'.
"Oh wow." Coco quickly rushed out of the bed and ran out of the room.
"Coco where are you going?" Adalyn asked as she made way out of the bed. Before she could walk out of the room, she heard loud screams.
"She said that I'm better than you! Take that Ruel!" Coco screamed.
"What?" Ruel asked.
"Yup. Adalyn a.k.a the love of your life said that I'm better than you in singing. Instead of you with a career, it should be me!"
"Okay," Adalyn came out of the room. "I didn't say that." She said, talking about the last lines.
"You didn't, I know. But that's the inner meaning I got from what you said."
"Whaa-" Ruel said, with his eyebrows knitted together. Nothing was processing in his brain about what his crazy sister was talking about. When Coco knocked on the door, he was busy writing a song for Adalyn. His brain kept on going back to the song only, which was almost complete; just a little rough around the edges.
"Come on Coco, you can party later." Adalyn said to a jumping Coco. "You've bothered Ruel enough. He must be doing something important." Adalyn took Coco's hand and led her to their room.
"Why would you do that? I love pissing Ruel off." Coco said as she plopped on the bed.
"It's alright now. Wanna see the pictures from last night?" Adalyn asked.
"Is that even a question? Of course." Coco sat up properly in the bed as Adalyn picked up her camera from the bedside table and accessed the pictures from yesterday.
"Amazing. Wondrous. Breathtaking. Brilliant. Fabulous. Do you want me to go on?" Coco said as she scrolled through more pictures, not looking up from the camera.
"Na I think that much is enough. I can't handle so many compliments ya know?"
Coco began to laugh, making Adalyn laugh too. She tackled Adalyn into a hug and the both of them made the most out of the leftover days of the internship, before Adalyn could come to Sydney.
