10th October

Current time: 6.00 pm

"There you go. Keep this shirt on the top of that pile."

Adalyn was packing for her internship. Laura was helping her to pack things orderly.

"Okay mum." Adalyn said, while taking the shirt in her mum's hand.

The weather in London is sort of unpredictable, but Adalyn searched on internet; the weather will be a little cold, so it's necessary to keep cardigans and light jackets.

After packing all the things in her suitcase, she zipped it up and rolled it to a corner of the room. Then she opened her handbag and kept it on the bed. She put things like her accessories and other necessary things like toothpaste, toothbrush etc in it. She put her passport in it with her laptop and kept her camera too.

"Done." Adalyn sighed, as she zipped up her handbag and kept it on her bedside table.

Ding dong

The doorbell rang. Adalyn and Laura exchanged glances, as they had no idea about who it could be. Nevertheless, they both went downstairs. Adalyn peered through the peephole to see that it was Lorelai only after all. She opened the door for her to come in. As Adalyn opened the door a little, Lorelai pushed it full open herselves and barged in.

"Adalyn are you prepared for your internship? Have you kept everything? Do you need any help? Is something missing? I'll provide you that missing thing. Tell. Me." Lorelai said. If you haven't noticed, Lorelai gets a little over excited.

"Lorelai chillax. I have everything prepared. No, no help is required. Nothing's missing; I have everything." Adalyn said trying to calm her best friend down.

"Okay that's great. I am going to miss you." Lorelai said as she moved forward to hug Adalyn. Adalyn hugged her back and both of them swayed forth and back in a fun way. The swaying became light pushing, and before you know it, they both were on the floor, laughing out loud.

Laura was watching all of it unfold. She absolutely adored the both of them. As Adalyn and Lorelai got up from the floor, Lorelai made her way to Laura and gave her a small hug too.

"Lori come sit down." Laura said, as the trio made their way to the couch.

As they sat down, Lorelai spoke up.

"I have some news." Lorelai said.

"Yeah what's up?" Adalyn asked.

"I have been selected to represent our school at the district level dance competition!" Lorelai screamed, making Adalyn scream in happiness along with her.

"Oh my god! I am so excited about it! When is it?" Adalyn asked.

"19th October." Lorelai said sheepishly.

"Oh. I'm sorry but I won't be able to attend it Lori." Adalyn said sadly.

"Hey it's alright. You will be London, interning under Michelle and living your dream." Lorelai said in a comforting tone.

"But I love seeing you dance."

"My mum will be there. She will record my performance and I'll share it with you. Okay?" Lorelai said.

"Okay." Adalyn said as she gave her a comforting side hug.

"Ms. Henderson," Lorelai said while turning around to face Laura, "mum asked me to invite you to the competition. And I would love for you to be there in the crowd. Will you come?" Lorelai asked with a hopeful look in her eyes.

"Oh Lori of course! I love to see you dance. I'll be there." Laura smiled.

"Oh that's great!" Lorelai said while hugging Laura.

"So, you've packed everything, right?" Lorelai asked Adalyn.

"Yes Lori. I have kept everything." Adalyn groaned who was a little annoyed by Lorelai.

"Okay okay. I just don't want you to forget something important, which you remember once you reach London." Lorelai said, with her hands up in defense.

"Lorelai, I have checked twice. I've kept everything. I will check everything before sleeping. Now, do you wanna do something fun together? I am going tomorrow."

"Yeah sure what do you wanna do?"

Adalyn's face began showcasing a large grin.

"Photography." She simply said, while running up to her room. She went inside her room, opened up her handbag and pulled out her camera. Then she went running down and pulled Lorelai out of the house.

"I wanna click amazing pictures of you at the lake you took me." Adalyn explained.

"Okay okay let's go." Lorelai said, leading the way to the lake.

Soon they reached at the lake.

"So, candid?" Lorelai questioned.

"Duh." Adalyn said, matter-of-factly.

And so it started. Lorelai, the model; Adalyn, the photographer. Adalyn kept on snapping whatever Lorelai provided her. There was something about photography that made Adalyn calm. It was her escape and her happy place. The snap of the camera when a picture is clicked is music to her ears. When she lowers the camera from her face to see what she has clicked, the feeling of triumph when the grace is captured makes her feel contented. It makes her feel that even though the world isn't perfect, there is so much that is beautiful and is worth that one small press of the button. It is worth storing it in a camera and viewing it afterwards with content. It is worth showing it around to everyone and showing them that the world is beautiful; all you have to do is open your eyes.

Adalyn and Lorelai spent a good 30 minutes clicking and posing. They didn't get tired; if she wants and can, Adalyn will click pictures for the whole day and won't even get bored. And if it was up to Lorelai, she'd pose and will do anything to make her best friend calm and happy, anytime.

"This one's by far the best." Lorelai said.

Adalyn and Lorelai were done and they both were sitting in the lush green grass and were viewing the pictures.

"I love this one too. You look extremely beautiful." Adalyn smiled.

"I look beautiful because my photographer's photography is beautiful." Lorelai said with a cheeky smile.

"Thanks love." Adalyn said.

"Send me this one. I'll make it my new profile picture on Instagram."

"Okay. First I need to transfer the pictures from here to my laptop in Google Drive. Then I'll share it with you."

"Cool, take your time."

"It's 8.00 pm. Let's get going." Adalyn said as she got up from the grass, Lorelai copying her actions.

"Wanna do a sleepover? My last day here." Adalyn further asked.

"I'd love to. Let me ask my mum." Lorelai said. She pulled out her phone and dialled her mum's number.

"Hello mum can I stay the night at Adalyn's house?"

"Okay."

"Hmmm."

"Fine I'll be back tomorrow after seeing off Adalyn at the airport."

"Yeah sure."

"Fine, be there at 4.00 am in the morning. The flight is of 5.30 am."

"Yeah see ya. Bye." She ended the call.

"What she said?" Adalyn asked, even though it was pretty clear from Lorelai's replies to her mum.

"I can stay, but we can't stay up for long as your flight is early in the morning. And she also wants to see you off, so she'll be at your place at 4.00 am." Lorelai explained.

"Okay that's alright."

Pretty soon both of them reached Adalyn's home. They entered and went upstairs. After freshening up and changing to their pyjamas, Adalyn pulled out her laptop and opened Netflix. They had a Stranger Things marathon.

"God I'm hungry." Lorelai cried as she paused the show.

"Fine what do you want to eat?" Adalyn asked.

"Whatever your mum's making. My stomach admires her cooking." Lorelai said while rubbing and patting her stomach.

"Okay let's go downstairs."

They went downstairs, and much to their delight, Laura was preparing mac n cheese, also known as Lorelai's favorite.

"Yay mac n cheese!" Lorelai screamed as she danced around the kitchen and living room. Laura and Adalyn laughed as she went round and round the kitchen counter doing a stupid step but still managing to look graceful.

After dancing around their house for long, Lorelai tired out and sat on the counter, trying to catch her breath. Adalyn sat with her, and the three of them chatted as Laura prepped the mac n cheese. As it was prepared, she filled three bowls with the heavenly cheesy macaroni. She placed them on a tray and kept three forks along with the bowls. The trio made their way to the table. Adalyn and Lorelai sat down as Laura kept their bowl and fork in front of them. She kept her own bowl and fork in front of her chair and sat down. They began to eat and proceeded with their conversation.

"So, Addie, when are where are you supposed to meet Michelle tomorrow?" Laura questioned.

Adalyn was about to put the macaroni stuck on her fork in her mouth, but her mother's question made her lower her hand and place the fork back in the bowl.

"I don't know." Adalyn whispered.

"It's alright. Text and ask her." Lorelai said in a comforting tone, after which she continued to stuff macaroni in her face.

"Okay." Adalyn pulled out her phone from the back pocket and texted Michelle.

Hi Michelle.
When and where am I supposed
to meet you tomorrow?

After sending the text, Adalyn put her phone on the table, screen down as she continued to eat her macaroni. Her phone buzzed suddenly within a minute. She kept on shoving macaroni with the fork in her left hand and accessed her text with Michelle with right hand.

Make sure you're at the
airport till 4.30 am. I'll meet
you there only.

Okay Michelle.

"I'll meet her at the airport only at 4.30 am." Adalyn said as she kept her phone back on the table.

"Okay that's great." Laura said.

The three of them finished their macaroni soon. Adalyn got up with her utensils, along with Lorelai's and Laura's. She kept them in the dishwasher and went upstairs, with Lorelai following her.

It was getting late, so both of them went upstairs and plopped on the bed. Adalyn once checked for the last time whether she has kept everything or not. After the checking, they both got under the warm duvets and faced each other.

"I'll miss you so much." Lorelai said.

"Lori I'll miss you too. We'll text and call and FaceTime and I'll send you loads and loads of pictures and videos. You send me your dance video. Promise?" Adalyn said, while lifting her pinky finger.

"Promise." Lorelai said, as they intertwined their pinkies. After a little late night chat, both of them went to sleep.

11th October

Current time: 3.00 am

"Addie. Addie wake up." Adalyn felt her shoulder shake. She opened her eyes to see Laura trying to wake her up.

"Addie it's 3.00 am. You have to be at the airport in one-and-a-half hour. Wake up." Laura said, shaking her.

"I'm up." Adalyn said, as she got up and sat in her bed, rubbing her eyes.

"Freshen yourselves up okay?" Laura said, as she went out of the room.

"Hmm." Adalyn hummed slowly in response. She turned around to see Lorelai who was tossing in her position, which signaled she'd be up soon. Adalyn picked up the duvet from her body and slung her legs on to the side of the bed. She got off the bed and stepped on the floor, the wooden floor sending chills throughout her body from her bare feet. She made her way to the washroom and freshened up. After 10 minutes she came out, seeing Lorelai sitting in her bed, rubbing her eyes.

"Good morning." Lorelai greeted with croaky voice.

"Good morning Lori. I just came out of the washroom, you can go now. And all your stuff is kept in the cabinet above the sink." Adalyn said. Lorelai and Adalyn slept at each other's houses frequently. So, Lorelai had a spare toothbrush and other things in Adalyn's home. Same goes for Adalyn.

Lorelai hummed in response as she got out of the way and went in the washroom, locking the door behind her. Adalyn quickly changed her clothes and brushed her hair. Lorelai soon came out and opened one of the drawers in Adalyn's closet; the drawer which had some clothes of her. She chose some clothes and went back in the washroom to change. She came out, brushed her blonde hair and both of them made their way downstairs to the kitchen.

"Good morning mum." Adalyn greeted as she and Lorelai sat down on the chairs.

"Good morning." Laura greeted.

"Here you go. Pancakes with extra maple syrup for you for the last time for two weeks." Laura said as she handed Adalyn her plate of pancakes and Lorelai her plate of waffles.

"I'm really going to miss your food mum." Adalyn said as she dug into the pancakes.

"Aww love. I'll miss you so much." Laura cooed.

"Mum don't make me cry." Adalyn cried.

"Sorry hun. Eat your breakfast now." Laura said with a chuckle.

Laura sat down with the both of them with her own breakfast. They ate and made small conversation. After they had finished, suddenly their doorbell rung. Adalyn opened up the door to be greeted by Jennifer and Jessie.

"I'll miss you Addie." Jessie said as she hugged Adalyn which she gladly accepted. Jennifer joined them, making it a group hug.

"I'll miss you too little one." Adalyn said as she booped Jessie's nose.

"Oh come in." Adalyn said as she made way for them to enter.

"Will you like to eat something?" Laura asked after everyone had greeted each other.

"Oh no. We'll have breakfast afterwards." Jennifer said.

"It's 3.45 am. I think we should get going then." Laura said.

"Okay." Adalyn said. She went upstairs along with Lorelai. They both brought down her suitcase and handbag. She quickly checked for the last time whether she had everything. After this, all of them got out. Laura picked up her car keys and locked the door.

Laura's car was big enough for all of them to fit. They all sat in and began chatting about how they all will miss Adalyn and all the fun things she should do in London. Pretty soon, they reached the airport. Laura parked the car and they all got out.

"Adalyn!" Adalyn heard someone call out her name. She turned around to see it was Michelle. She made her way towards her and hugged her. Then she walked over to everyone with Michelle by her side. They all greeted her.

"We should go now Adalyn." Michelle said.

Adalyn nodded.

"Guess this is it. Bye mum." She gave Laura the biggest hug.

"Bye hun. Have fun." Laura said.

"Bye Lori. Win for our school." Adalyn said as she she hugged Lorelai.

"Thanks. You, don't forget me." Lorelai said sternly.

"Of course not. We'll talk daily." Adalyn smiled.

Next she hugged Jessie and Jennifer.

"Give my love to Mr. Dawson." Adalyn said to Jennifer. Tim was out to Perth on a business trip.

"Will do." Jennifer smiled.

"Bye all." Adalyn said for the last time, while giving flying kisses to all of them.

"Byyyyeee!" They all said while waving.

Michelle gave them all a wave and they both walked in the airport.
