28th November 2024:

Adalyn and Lorelai are two best friends and roommates who attend the Fine Arts College of Sydney. It's their last semester going on, before they graduate from college. Adalyn is pursuing photography and is on her way to become a professional photographer. She still works with Michelle, the photographer she interned under 4 years ago. She isn't her intern anymore, she's her partner.

Lorelai is pursuing dance and is on her way to become a professional dancer. Being one of the best dance students the college has ever seen, Lorelai rose to the top very soon and now is working alongside Vera, her dance teacher from 4 years ago.

Adalyn and Ruel had been dating for almost 4 years now. 31st December, 2024 will mark their four-year anniversary. They had started dating from 31st December, 2020. In the beginning Ruel's team was a little unsure about Ruel dating again, but when they saw that Ruel is extremely happy with Adalyn, they let him date. Knowing Adalyn since so long made them say yes to their relationship.

Right now, Adalyn was getting ready for a date with Ruel. She was wearing a sundress with sandals. They were in Sydney, Australia, so it was summers in November.

Ding dong

The bell rang as Lorelai ran up to the door to open it.

"Hey Ruel." Lorelai said as she hugged him.

"Hi Lori. Is Addie ready?" He asked.

"She is in her roo-"

"I'm ready!" Adalyn cut Lorelai off as she came out of her room.

"Hey Ruel." Adalyn said as she gave him a small kiss.

"Hey honey." He kissed her back.

"Have fun guys!" Lorelai said as Ruel and Adalyn walked out on the streets of Sydney, hand in hand.

"Where are we going Ruel?" Adalyn asked.

"I was thinking that we can go to that pasta bar you really love. Then we can go to the beach."

"Yes pasta!"

"I love seeing you so happy." Ruel smiled as they entered the pasta bar. It wasn't far from where Adalyn lived; it was at walking distance. They both sat and began talking. A waiter came to take their orders.

"I'll have tortellini with grilled chicken and pesto." Adalyn said as she handed her menu to the waiter.

"I'll have gnocchi with lemon and chive pesto." Ruel said as he handed his own menu to the waiter.

Adalyn and Ruel indulged back into their conversation. The food came and they ate it along with talking and having occasional laughs.

They both were now standing at the counter to pay.

"Adalyn let me pay."

"Nope."

"Adal-"

Before Ruel could even finish his sentence, Adalyn swiped her credit card in the machine. She turned around and looked at him with a big grin on her face.

"Yeah okay." Ruel playfully rolled his eyes. "Let's go to the beach."

Both of them walked out of the café and went to the beach, which also wasn't far. They both sat down in the sand and looked at the waves crashing at the shore.

"Adalyn," Ruel said.

"Yeah?" Adalyn asked.

"I was thinking that do you want to go to London in December?"

"For what?"

"We can celebrate our 4 year anniversary along with new year."

"Yeah sure. I'd love to."

Ruel bended forward to hug Adalyn. She hugged him back, with her head on his chest as she fiddled with the necklace she gifted him when she came to Sydney for the first time. The necklace had a charm of the infinity symbol just like her bracelet.

31st December 2024:

"Right here?"

"Yup."

Ruel and Adalyn sat down in their park in London and at the same place where they had lain down for the first time. It was about to be midnight.

"Okay it's about to be midnight." Adalyn said excitedly as both of them stood up.

"5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Happy new year!!" Adalyn screamed, but Ruel didn't. Fireworks began to explode in the background.

"Ruel why didn't you-" She began to speak as she turned around to face him, but Ruel wasn't standing; he was on the ground on one knee. Her eyes began to widen.

"Adalyn, you have been my girlfriend for 4 years now. We've had our fights but we've always managed to get back into each other's arms. The endless times we spent FaceTime-ing each other when I was on tour is something I can never forget. And I can never forget when we met, our first kiss and everything after that. I love you so much. Adalyn," Ruel pulled out a velvet white colored box and opened it, revealing a ring with a shining jewel on top. Adalyn covered her face in shock as Ruel continued, "will you marry me and make me the happiest man on earth?"

"Yes! Yes! A thousand times yes!" Adalyn exclaimed as tears of happiness flowed out of her eyes. Ruel got up from the ground with a big smile on his face as he slid the ring on her ring finger. He bent down and kissed her passionately. Adalyn pulled from the kiss and gave him a tight hug.

Both of them hugging, feeling their happiest as the fireworks exploded in the background as both of them awaited for what the future holds for them.
