AUTHOR'S NOTE!!

thank you so incredibly much to all of you! i value and love every single application with all of my heart. unfortunately this is already a huge cast, and i don't think i could take accepting every single poor orphan you sent my way, much to my and mara's chagrin. but we have to know our limits!

opinions are optional, but i think you might want to do them. you'll probably have fun. everyone's such an interesting and colourful character that it would be hard not to. plus, you guys are all siblings now!! so play nice >:(

another thing that you might want to do is, like i mentioned in the announcements, to comment how your character views mara's religion. little things, like them praying every day before dinner, or how mara might comfort someone. if you don't want your character to be involved with christianity, simply indicate so in the "extra" category below! if you think they wouldn't want to pray, but are open to religion, say so! it doesn't have to be a long fancy paragraph, just info as to how your character feels about mara's christianity.

obviously, there is no inter-dating between siblings. but if you spy a side character you think your character would like, let me know here, in the love interest section below.

this is a good space to also indicate if you think your character and lydia might be good li's, or if you want to talk about a pre-existing relationship that your character might have. keep in mind, this is "real life", so real life things might happen. breakups, awkward crushes, unrequited love, etc. are all probable in this plot! be aware, but don't be scared to make messy, complicated opinions!

for closeted characters, maybe you want to suggest a fake-dating scenario, or indicate who you think your character would come out to. do you want your character to come out? do you want discussions about sexuality with mara/julian/lydia/anybody else?

even further than that, are there any plot points you think are vital to your character that you want to happen, or even ideas for scenes with other characters? just because this is "my" book doesn't mean you guys don't have input! you made the characters, after all! so please, please, please give me some scene ideas. i really want them.

lastly, (sorry for the novel) most of the side characters are altered from their original forms. the greeves sisters, for example, were never originally sisters, but i found the idea of cobbling together another family from three of my favourite applications was really cute. additionally, i moved around applicants and slightly altered them for story/continuity purposes. annika and nicholas are the kids of ginger, who's mara's best friend, so of course their last name changes. because ginger is filipino-white-indigenous mixed, so too are annika and nicholas. their father, darren, is black-white mixed, so that stays true to nicholas and annika's original ethnicities. bianca is sasha's little sister, is now 14, because that's how old the "original" sister of sasha was. definitely ask questions because that was confusing.
