𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐇𝐎𝐍𝐄𝐘𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐒 are a family who live on a farm in Wellspring, Connecticut. It feels like a dream: no clouds of pollution or thick swarms of people, no revving cars or wailing sirens. Just blue skies and grass that rolls like the ocean for miles. 

Mara Honeybee, the mother, was never able to birth children. She worried that she would never get to live her dream of raising happy and healthy kids. So instead she adopted them-- a lot of them. 

Julian Honeybee, the father, suffered from heartbreak. After losing his wife, starting a new family seemed irreverent, his biological kids a reminder of everything he lost. But Mara showed him the beauty of new life. 

All the Honeybees live contently, riding into town on their bicycles for the things they couldn't grow, playing in dandelion fields and chasing after lambs. 

One day, a girl shows up. A new one, full of secrets, dynamic. And the Honeybees flock to her as if she were a flower. 

MARA HONEYBEE

Well-mannered, soft-spoken, and gritty, Mara has a soft, old fashioned way about her. She's the blanket you find in your attic, worn and a little moth-nibbled, but familiar and comforting all the same. Mara is stubborn, persistent, and good at handling things with care. Her family has owned the Honeybee farm for decades. When her mother passed during childbirth, Mara felt as if she would never be whole again. But she raised her little sister, Naomi, and ran the farm by herself. Naomi grew up, went to college, and Mara found herself alone again. Time and time again, she tried to fall in love, but every man she met had no taste for her strength and wisdom. And when they discovered she was infertile, that was reason enough to leave. 

But a storm blew up a weary straggler, running from his life in a drunken haze, a man who had abandoned his children in some motel down the road. Mara took him in, dunked him in the rain barrel, fed him some thick porridge, and kicked him promptly back out. She had no tolerance for parents who abandoned their children, since they were lucky enough to have children. The very same man returned days later, still in despair, begging her to take in his children. He knew he could never care for someone the way she did. 

Instead she took them all in, nurtured them and fed them alongside her own adopted kids. The man got back on his feet. The kids thrived together. 

And the rest is history. 

JULIAN HONEYBEE

Teenage heartthrob and confident football star, Julian Wise had always been assured of a successful life. After all, he had a perfect girlfriend, a loving family, and top grades. Nothing, it felt like, could go wrong. And for a long time, nothing did go wrong. Julian got married to the love of his life, Harper. They had three kids, moved down to Connecticut, and had a good life. 

When Harper passed away, leukaemia, Julian felt like his world had fallen apart. He was barely home before, travelling for football and FaceTiming his kids regularly. He had no idea how to care for them, and when they took care of themselves, he felt like a failure. Things slipped out of control, and he found himself staggering home, drunken and desolate, in the middle of a storm. But Mara Honeybee, a warrior angel in overalls, saved him. She forced him to get his shit together, and he came back, knowing that he had met a woman who could carry the weight of the world. Who could be a much better mother than he. 

So he asked her to take his children. Begged her, knowing it was a horrible thing to do. Wanting to get his kids someplace where they could be properly loved. Instead, Mara offered her hand, hauled him up, and told him to go get the eggs from the chicken coop. 

And the rest is history.

So you guys are applying with all the kids!! There aren't really slots, but there are certain people I need to check off, like Julian's three biological kids. I also want to just encourage diversity in ages, since most people tend to make teenagers only. So there's that. Here's some info for applying! 

˚ ༘♡ ⋆｡˚JULIAN'S BIO KIDS:
Julian is white, and Harper is black. His kids are gonna be biracial. There are three of them!
Their ages can vary, but they were pretty young when their mom died. The oldest was probably around 9-10. [It's been seven years since Julian first met Mara, so they would be 17-ish.]

⋆·˚ ༘ * MARA'S FIRST KIDS:
Mara had two adopted kids when she met Julian. They could be any age, any race. But these two are going to be closest with Mara, the oldest when we meet them, and probably the ringleaders of the bunch. So maybe one is responsible, one is a bit of a shithead? Dunno! Up to you guys <3 [Current age range is probably 17+] 

*ੈ✩‧₊˚ MARA'S SECOND KIDS: 
After meeting Julian, and getting married, Mara adopted two more kids. [That brings our kid count up to 7-- damn] Again, any age, any race. Probably younger, but Mara does tend to adopt older kids, since she knows they get kicked out of the system soon. [Age range can be anywhere from 3-17, but if you do have a three year old, they probably won't be on as many adventures as the others]

✧˚ · . SIDE CHARACTERS
Obviously, this is a huge cast, way bigger than anything I've done before. But I still want side characters!! I always use leftover applications for cameos and things, so be warned that if you don't get accepted into the main cast, your form might be slightly altered to fit another role, such as MC's family or a villager person. Or if you wanna make a batshit crazy old lady who lives in the woods and gives them banana bread, please do. I'll make an entire chapter dedicated to characters like that istg. 

˚୨୧⋆｡˚ ⋆ SETTING
This takes place during the summer, when all the kids are off from school. Maybe the older kids didn't go to college, like Mara, and want to work on the farm instead? Maybe some of them want to branch out, become an accountant or lawyer?

As you can see, there are no faceclaims for my OCs. Partially because I'm lazy (also why I just used my own name for the MC, because I'm lazy and can't think of a new one) and partially because I don't like restricting characters to faceclaims. It really impacts how people think of them. 
So faceclaims are optional for your characters! You can substitute with a Pinterest board or a description, if you want, or you can still use a FC! Either way, it's up to you.
