*y'all know I hate sappy shit, but this chapter about to be mushy af, for the plot!*

KAMARIA WOODS
FRIDAY 12:31 am
1 YEAR LATER

"BITCH, I AM 22 years old. Can you believe that? Like seriously." Kamaria questioned her bestfriend. She looked at the girl, and she nodded.

"It do feel like time went by fast girl." Kourtney agreed with her, sorting through the boxes.

It was the day before Samir and kamaria decided to finally tie the knot with each other, and kamarias nerves were at an all time high. She had never been more scared in her life.

She had no doubt in her mind that this was what she wanted. She loved the boy with everything inside of her, and had for a total of six and half years now—maybe even before. She hadn't come to terms yet. All she knew was the time flew by.

They were just teenagers sitting in McDonald's sharing ice cream, and now they were full grown adults fresh out of college, with a baby, about to get married.

"Honestly, I think y'all love story is so cute. Me and Kyaire just bonded over smoking." Zariah added her input.

"I been telling her that shit! They got that shit you read straight out of a book, but I love it." Kourtney gushed. It was like everything came flashing back to them. Everything they had been through over the years. It was so adorable.

Kamaria giggled. "Just help me finish with this stuff." She dismissed them trying not to blush at the thought. She had no doubt in her mind that he loved her as much as she loved him, and that was the best feeling in the world.

The three girls were currently in kamaria and Samirs shared condo. The entire placed had been decorated and they had all kind of festivities, because Samir literally forbid her to have a bachelorette party. She didn't have more than two friends anyway, but since the same thing applied to Samir it was only fair.

Samir , zayden and Kyaire were at zayden and Kourtneys home as well, in attempt to keep the two away from each other up until their wedding. Everything was successful, but Samir was missing her like crazy. On the other hand, the group of males also had kamaria and Samirs baby with them too—but surprisingly Samir was the one who requested to keep him.

Their mothers had volunteered to keep him, along with Sahid— who was Sarais son, but Samir quickly shut that down. He wanted his son.

"What even is all this stuff." Zariah peered into the shoe box in her lap filled with all types of papers and pictures.

"Um, just some pictures from when I was a teenager. They all are for different years. It has the year written on the side." Kamaria informed her.

She saved almost everything really. It was a habit, and she was a borderline hoarder, but she loved keeping things that meant a lot to her. "This one says 2005." Zariah replied.

Kamaria rolled her eyes. "That's when I was fourteen. Probably one of the worst years of my life too. I stay far away from that box." She replied, but Zariah was intrigued.

"What's all these papers?" She questioned pulling them out, and her heart swelled at the sight of letters addressed to her from Samir. "Aweee, he used to write you?" She questioned flipping it around.

Kourtney gasped. "You kept the letters?" She asked her bestfriend astonished.

Kamaria shrugged, "yeah I did. I've never read a single one though." She admitted. That year was a really tough one for her, and anything that reminded her of him was pushed to the back of her mind and avoided.

"He wrote me for like a year before he stopped." She recalled, unsure if she was correct. It was almost ten years ago so she didn't remember exactly.

"You know what would be so cool? If you read them right now. Like the night before you guys get married to see how far along y'all have come." Kourtney suggested, and Zariah eagerly nodded her head agreeing.

"I don't know y'all..." kamaria trailed off. She couldn't even guess the things he wrote her. For years she left it to her imagination, so reading them and bringing them to reality was something she was scared to do. And she felt like it would reopen healed wounds.

"Girl, I know you would love to see how far y'all have come. How long have y'all been together?" Kourtney asked.

"Six and a half years." Kamaria swallowed.

"And had he not been the best boyfriend and fiancé you could ever ask for?" Kourtney continued.

Kamaria dropped her head, flustered. "Yeah." She smiled.

"So I think you should do it. Those letters came from a wounded fifteen year old boy , who used the time out of his days in juvenile detention to write you. Shit even zayden and Kyaire didn't get letters from him." Kourtney pointed out.

"They talked on the phone." Kamaria playfully rolled her eyes.

"Not a lot though." She pointed out.

"I can't read all of these tonight, it'll take two hours minimum." Kamaria pointed out, looking at the amount of letters. There were too many to count. She recalled receiving a letter once every week or two.

"Girl stop trynna make everything complicating. If you don't wanna read them all then cool, pick some random ones." Zariah mushed her head.

"Alright yall, only a few. Damn." She muttered even though she was very nervous. She started sifting through vintage looking unopened envelopes, finding the earliest date. She wanted to read his first one.

She tore it open, pulling the paper out. It was college ruled paper, and it was an entire front page full of his hand writing. She recognize it anywhere.

"Read it out loud." Zariah requested.

Kamaria rolled her eyes. "Dear kamaria," she cleared her throat. Her eyes started skimming over it, before she decided she wouldn't.

__

"I'm literally about to cry." kamaria stated, feeling emotional.  She didn't read it out loud, and she was happy she made that decision because reading it out loud would've made her burst into tears.

"Why? What does it say?" Kourtney questioned the girl seeing guilt written all over her face.

"He was telling me how he wasn't mad, and wanted me to get better. He was also asking about how I was doing, and telling me how he was doing. I just feel really bad because he was just saying he wanted me to write back and I never even opened them." Her heart felt heavy.

It was years ago, and she couldn't do anything about them now but it didn't make her feel less bad. If anything it made her feel worse knowing he still wrote her so much afterwards and she never wrote him back.

"I can just imagine fifteen year old him writing it. I was so mean." She didn't know if she could continue.

"Awe, girl you wasn't trying to be mean. You just going through a lot. You were traumatized, sad, and you felt guilty all in a nut shell. Don't be sad about that." Kourtney told her.

"Here." She passed the letter over to her bestfriend.

She went searching for another one, and what turned into her reading a few led to her reading them all, and it took her and hour and a half. The more she read them, the more she felt bad but she couldn't stop.

"There's one more where is it." Kamaria searched through the papers looking for the last one. She couldn't stop reading them. She would probably keep them forever now.

"Here you go." Zariah handed her the only unopened one. She had read one and decided she wouldn't read anymore. She could tell it wasn't Samirs intention to be sad but they were just too sad for her. She would start crying like they were for her.

Kourtney on the other hand read a few, it made her see him in a different light. She realized he had feelings for her way before she thought. It was evident.

Kamaria ripped it open, and unfolded the paper seeing it was front and back.

"This boy was literally confessing his love to you and you didn't know because you ain't wanna open them." Kourtney muttered softly looking over her shoulder at the long thought out letter.

"All these letters and you never wrote him back once kamaria?" Zariah pulled the girl from her thoughts. She was thinking about what Kourtney said and she was right.

He may have not said it, but it was obvious he felt something for her. It was all in his words. He spoke about how he thought about her all the time, and things of that nature. Kamaria found herself sighing.

"I mean...I wrote him back once but I never sent it." She admitted, wiping the stray tears from her eyes. She wondered if the sixteen year old Samir that wrote that letter would've ever thought that they would be getting married one day.

Kourtney gasped in astonishment. "You did? Where is it?" She was actually intrigued truthfully. Reading majority of Samirs letter made her think about how her and zayden used to write each other when ever he got locked up—except the time after their break up. But at least she wrote back.

"It's in the 2006 box. But you guys can't read it." She declared. It was nothing embarrassing, but she knew what she wanted to do with it—and that didn't involve them reading it.

"What! Why?! This is like a tv show." Kourtney reached for the 2006 show box and kamaria snatched it.

"Because I said you cant! Let's put this stuff up and go to bed, even though I got a feeling I'm not gone be able to sleep tonight." Kamaria started gathering everything up neatly.

"I wouldn't be able to sleep either girl. I don't blame you." Zariah started helping her, but Kourtney was sad. She wanted to see what kamaria had wrote him. Especially considering tonight was her first time reading his letters.

"Alright i guess." She muttered beginning to help the other two.

SAMIR MONTGOMERY
FRIDAY 2:01 am
A HOUR LATER

"NIGGA YOU STILL up? You must wanna be a zombie at yo own wedding." Zayden muttered flicking the bright light on to his kitchen, since the dim lights were being used instead.

Him and Kourtney lived very comfortably in a high rise apartment thanks to their occupation's . Zayden really paid the bills and let her use her money on her.

"I can't sleep." Samir shrugged his shoulders using the pencil in his hand to draw doodles around the words he had written down. He wasn't writing vows, but he was making sure that he had everything he wanted to say so he wouldn't forget.

"You can't sleep either lil man?" Zayden peeked over at their baby kamarion, who was wide awake in his bassinet playing with his rattle toy. The boy had just started walking, which was surprising. They thought it would take him a while because he was a chubby baby but he picked up fast.

He was ten months, and he looked just like Samir with kamarias skin complexion. He had a few of her features, but there was no doubt who the baby's father was.

Zayden and Kourtney had took on the roll of being his God parents, and they loved it. It made them want a baby as well, but they we're waiting a little longer to make sure they had all their young adult years out of the way.

The baby began cheesing widely, showing his gums. He had two teeth at the top, and one at the bottom, and he could say small things like mama, dada and he could tell them when he wanted to eat of course.

"Wassup?" Zayden cooed softly, picking the boy up and standing his small body on the counter. "So whatchu doin?" Zayden tried to take a glance at the paper sitting in front of his bestfriend.

"Ion know." He lied.

He was annoyed. He liked being with his friends but to a certain extent. He would've much preferred being with kamaria at the moment but he knew that wasn't possible due to tradition.

"How youn know whatchu doin. You coulda jus said mind my business." The boy waved him off making Samir laugh, dropping his pencil.

"I got a question." Samir stated, he was talking to zayden but he was eyeing his son.

"Lay it." Zayden shrugged.

"You ever thought me and lil bit would be getting married?" He questioned the boy.

On that note, Kyaire sauntered in, feeling left out. He had been in a guest room, but he heard them talking and got up to be apart of it.

"Honestly, as kids nah. Ian even think you liked her the way you used to mess wit her ass . Then when you went away for them couple of years, I thought her and Saint would eventually be something." Zayden admitted. "Then when I came home the last time and seen y'all together, I knew y'all was gone last a long time if not forever. It was easy to tell really."

Kyaire nodded agreeing. "Yeah me too. It took me a lil longer , but after we had that talk a few years back in yo living room, I knew you was it for my sister. You never even doubted that y'all would break up and I admired that bout y'all relationship. Y'all never felt the need to question what the future held. Y'all knew y'all had security in y'all relationship."

"Why? I hope you ain't having second thoughts." Kyaire side eyed him.

Samir smacked his teeth. "Nah, never. I just don't know what I wanna say tomorrow...so I guess I'm trynna back track to the very beginning." He explained.

He only got a wedding one time so he wanted to make it worth it. Maybe in the future they would renew their vows, but their wedding was a one in a lifetime thing.

"I can't even imagine how hard it is. When it's my turn imma be going through it." Zayden shook his head. He didn't doubt that he wanted to marry Kourtney and he knew he was going to but he wasn't surprised kamaria and Samir were getting married before everyone else.

"It's not really hard, I just don't wanna fuck up. And I wanna say everything and not forget nothing." Samir explained almost in deep thought.

Suddenly, one of their phones started ringing and Kyaire started patting himself feeling the vibrations. He pulled it out his pocket, and glanced at Samir seeing kamaria was calling. He pressed answer and brought it up to his ear.

"Youn wanna get married huh." He pretended to assume , enjoying the look on Samirs face. Suddenly his world felt crushed. Kyaire nodded, " I knew you wouldn't. I'm sure he gone be okay—right Slim."

He reached for the phone and the boy jerked back.

"I'm just playing chill out!" He tried not to get hit. "Let me see my nephew she wanna talk to him." He explained. "She wanna talk to you too but I'm not letting her." He stated before sauntering away with kamarion on his hip.

"Man, I know yo heart dropped." Zayden was laughing.

"That shut ain't funny. Now not the time to be playing." He shook his heart trying to regulate his heart beat. "I wish I could talk to her though." He muttered softly.

"Just think about it. When you see her tomorrow, it'll be soooo much better because you ain't seen her." Zayden placed his hand on his shoulder. "Don't be up too much longer bruh I can't have you falling asleep at yo wedding." And with that he walked off.

"Mmcht, never dat."

THE NEXT DAY.

"You ready for this little boy?" Samir asked with his son sitting on his lap. "I know i miss yo momma too." He found himself talking to his crying baby.

His diaper was changed, he had been fed and he was well rested. The only reason he could've been crying now was because he wanted kamaria, and Samir totally understood. They were in the same boat.

"Samir?!" Tameeka found her way in the back looking for her son. She was so excited. Truthfully, her , Simone and even Bianca helped plan the entire thing.

They couldn't wait for the bride and groom to see what they had put together. It was beautiful.

"Yeah ma?" He looked up.

She laid eyes on him, and the tone reminded her of when he was a younger boy. She knew it meant he was nervous. "So are y'all not wearing the jackets to the tuxes?" She questioned taking a seat next to him.

"Nah, I didn't want too. I still look good." He looked down at his black dress shirt with his gold cross chain peeking out.

"Yeah it's no problem. I was just clarifying." She nodded before reaching over for her grandson. "Hey handsome. Give nanny a kiss." She kissed his chubby cheek and he broke out into giggles.

"So are you ready?" She questioned softly, glancing back at her son.

He rubbed his sweaty palms on his pants nodding.

"You have no idea how long I been waiting for this day." She stated honestly. "You can say I'm lying but I always knew you two would start a family. I guess it was my mother's intuition." She swore.

His lips twitched. "Yeah probably. You knew I wanted her before I did. That's sum ainnit."

She laughed along side of him.

"Aight we back." Zayden announced with Kyaire following him. A few moments later savion was coming in behind them.

Samir honestly couldn't decide who would be his best man, so he didn't. Both zayden and Kyaire were chosen and they had no issue with that. Kyaire also had the task of walking his little sister down the isle though. He was the first person she thought of, and he didn't hesitate to tell her yes.

"Here Samir, this is from lil bit." Kyaire put his hand out with a envelope in it, and Samir snatched it upon hearing her name.

"Hey! No note passing." Tameeka frowned.

"It's not a note. I already argued with her about it." Kyaire waved his bestfriends mother off.

"Mhm, alright. Well, I'm about to go get my front row seat with my nanny baby. Good luck, and I'll see you." She stood to her feet as Samir eyed the envelope with a confused look on his face.

He was very perplexed. "What is this?" He questioned.

"What do it say?" Zayden responded since he didn't know.

"I—" he paused. "It's addressed to the detention center I was in." He disclosed making zaydens eyes widen.

"Watchu doin nigga open that shit before I do it for you!" Zayden urged.

"Shut the f—shut up." He hissed cutting himself off. "Almost cursed in the church of the lord." He shook his head tearing open the envelope, immediately beginning to read it.

"What did she say? I wanna read." Zayden was curious looking at the front and back paper full of words. "Nigga are you crying?" He spoke again noticing the wet paper

Samir swallowed the lump in his throat. Clearing his throat his looked up, quickly wiping his eyes. In a way he felt
Embarrassed, but kamaria had no idea how much of his inner child had just been healed.

He wondered what made her give this to him , after they had been together for so long and it was never brought up. It felt so good to know that she actually had wrote him back, even if he didn't see until almost ten years later.

It made him wonder if she still had his letters. He was never getting rid of it though. It had given him the courage to get up there today, and finally tie the knot with her. Opening the envelope, the boy paused noticing the picture and he smirked pulling it out.

He tried not to laugh looking at it, but he couldn't help it. She didn't look bad but she looked like a little adorable nerd. He liked it though.

"Aye, are y'all ready?" Kyree appeared. He was the ring bearer. "They asking for Samir, it's time to start." He informed them causing all of them to nod.

"Aight Samir, I'll see you out there. I gotta go wit kamaria." He patted his shoulder.

"How she look?" He tried his luck, but his bestfriend just shook his head walking out.

Five minutes later Samir found himself standing before the priest and everybody else by himself. He wasn't nervous but his palms still felt sweaty since every had their eyes on him.

He gulped when the music started, and everybody turned their heads as zayden and Kourtney appeared. Then came Savion and Zariah as well.

His eyes shifted around, it was a lot of people there he couldn't lie. All of their family had been invited.

Sitting up front on one side were his parents, kamarias parents, bianca, their grandparents and his baby boy. On the other side in the front row, the first team he ever coached occupied the entire row. Just how he wanted.

Everybody else just filled out the rows behind them.

His heart began pummeling against his chest realizing she was up next. "You ready." Zayden mumbled over the music, but he ignored him keeping his eyes trained on where she would appear.

Eventually the sight of kamaria and Kyaire walking side by side stopping the frame came into view, and everyone stood up. He swallowed once again, blinking his eyes continuously eyeing the girl and only her.

She looked so pretty in the lighting. Her flashy white wedding dress hugged her curves at the top, and had floral layers at the bottom.

Her eyes hadn't met his yet, because she was so busy looking at everyone else. His eyes dropped to the floor, scared out of his mind. When her and her brother started walking down the isle slowly, Samir felt all his doubts disappearing quickly.

Finally their eyes met and the girl grew excited. "Can you slow down a lil, dang." Kyaire spoke lowly to where only she could hear.

"I'm sorry, you taking too long." She widened her eyes with an attitude. Still she kept a smile on her face. She looked so well rested, and even appeared to be glowing.

Kyaire smirked, getting them to the front where the priest clear his throat before speaking. When he asked who gave her away—and Kyaire said he did, kamaria couldn't bite back her smile anymore.

She let him kiss her on the cheek, before Samir put his hand out allowing her to take it and step in front of him. Kyaire took his spot between zayden and Savion, while Samir stared at her in awe.

He swore she was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. She always wondered if he thought other girls looked better then her, but he couldn't even see past her. She was beautiful inside and out and that was enough to capture and keep him.

"Dearly beloved, you have come together into the house of the church so that in the presence of the church's minister and the community, your intention to enter into marriage may be strengthened by the Lord with a sacred seal." The priest began.

He started going over the intentions, and before stating the exchange on consent—telling them to join hands shortly afterwards . "Have you two prepared vows?" He questioned watching both of them nod.

"I wanna go first." They both spoke in sync.

"No me." Kamaria frowned making the audience laugh.

"Nah? I got anxiety so you might as well let me get it over with." He argued , feeling the need to get it out of the way.

Kamaria thought about it, and knew he was right. She was better off letting him do it while he wanted to, before he chickened out. "Okay go ahead." She disregarded everyone in the audience laughing at their minor back and forth.

He tucked his lips in, gripping her hands slightly tighter.

He looked into her eyes, trying to stop his nerves from taking over before he started. "I'm not gon' stand up here and lie—saying that I always knew we would get married from the day I met you or nothing like that. But what I will say though, is that the day your brother introduced me to you, my life changed completely. It was only small things, but the older we got the more changes came upon us. Sometimes I wonder what would've happened if I did one little thing different and never would've met you at all—or changed the whole course of our story.... I guess what I'm really trynna say is that ion really understand how I was living before I met you."

"It's like if I'm away from you for too long , I can't focus, or do anything properly. I grew up hearing that nobody is perfect but I swear it's times where I feel like even I'm not good enough for you. I want you to know that nobody in this lifetime could ever measure up to the way you make me feel when I'm with you. My heart skip a beat everytime I see you, and I smile everytime I hear yo' name." He ran his tongue over his bottom lip. "I want to thank you for making me realize that I am worth something. You have never made me feel like im not worthy, and I love that your understanding. You always the shoulder I lean on, and always the listening ear I know I can come to. You'll probably never understand how much you really mean to me because no matter what I do to prove it, it'll always be more complex then that. With that being said, I also want you to know that I'll never stop choosing you and loving you with everything in me. I never even believed in soulmates until me and you got together. You always push me to be a better version of myself, and you put me above yourself—so for that I'll always love you kamaria , no matter what." He felt relief once he finally finished.

"Stop, why are you crying , I'm supposed to be the one crying." She reached trying to wipe his tears.

"Dad!" Kamarion shouted making everybody laugh at his outburst.

"Samir, I keep struggling to find where to start." She had to pause because her voice was cracking. Kourtney brought her hand to her shoulder rubbing it.

"I feel like if I was to write a book about our love story nobody would even believe it was real. Nobody on the outside would understand how much we've been through as a unit, ever since we were kids all the way up until now. When I met you I never thought I would be looking at the future father of my kids, and my future husband either. It was a point in life where I thought we would never speak again, but that just makes everything so much more worth it. I'll never be able to fully describe in words how much I love you. Your the last person I think about when I go to bed, and the first I think about when I wake up. You live in my mind rent free and I wouldn't want it any other way."

"You came into my life and showed me a whole new meaning to relationships. You always put me first, and you don't mind getting out of your comfort zone in order to please me—and that alone shows me how much you love me. Your love for me is reciprocated, times ten. I don't think I love anybody more than I do you and my baby. Every moment that we spend together brightens my day, and even the small things like our inside jokes. You make me feel like the most special person in the entire world, and when I'm with you it feels like nobody else exists. The love that you have shown me, put everything I know into a completely different perspective. I can be my authentic self around you, and that's what matters to me the most. You love me for who I am, no matter how quirky or weird I can be at times.  As we continue to navigate this beautiful journey together, I want you to know that my love for you grows stronger with each passing day. You are my rock, my best friend, and my partner in crime. I can't imagine my life without you.
Thank you for being the incredible person that you are. Thank you for choosing me and for making me feel like the luckiest person alive. I love you more than words can express, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for us." She finished, making sure to look him in the eye for every word she spewed.

Like always, she had outdid him—but it was the love behind their words that mattered.

"That made me tear up a little bit too." The priest dabbed the sides of his eyes before clearing his throat. "Do you kamaria take Samir to be your husband. Do you promise to be faithful to him, in good times and bad, in sickness and health, to live and honor him all days of your life?"

"I do." She nodded her head once.

"Do you Samir take kamaria to be your wife. Do you promise to be faithful to her, in good times and bad, in sickness and health, to live and honor her all days of your life?"

He nodded quickly making her laugh, "I do."

"If anyone objects to the marriage, speak now or forever hold your peace."

Kourtney and zaydens eyes flew to Sarai who was sitting on the third row with Sahid in her lap. She rolled her eyes, but knew to remain quiet.

"I d—" Danny's hands flew over his twin brothers mouth to stop him from ruining it with his dumb jokes.

Jayjay tittered lowly, and kamaria smiled. She loved them so much.

"Bless, O Lord, these rings."

Kyree stood in front of them letting Samir take the ring sliding it on her finger, before she did the same with the gold wedding band engraved just for him.

"In the sight of God and these witnesses, I now pronounce you husband and wife! You may now kiss!"

That was torture to write😒 ion even blame you if u ain't read all of it.

Smb said she wanted kamaria to read a letter so yeahhh what y'all think?

Thoughts?
