THE DEEP ATTRACTION

KAMARIA AND SAMIR
SATURDAY 7:49 pm
3 YEARS LATER

KAMARIA FOUND HERSELF sighing deeply, sitting in the passenger seat of Samirs car in deep thought.

"You still mad at me?" Samirs voice pulled her out of her thoughts, glancing at her since he knew they were getting closer to her old home.

"No." She muttered softly, and he could tell she was worried about something, she would just never open her mouth to say it. He was used to it though, she was stubborn and hated when others tried to fix her problems.

Even though she did the same.

"Why you doin that though," Samir bit back his smile at her childish like ways. She hated not getting her way, especially when it came to him. He knew his days of spoiling her would come back to bite him in the ass and this was it.

"Because I don't wanna go there yet! I wanna go home with you." A mug grew on her face, and he knew he just had to let it pass. Her mood swings were going like crazy, and it was exactly why he didn't want her on birth control in the first place—but he was far too late.

"Okay ma, but you haven't seen them in like three months. They literally keep asking me if I did something to you, and Kyaire and kyree was five seconds from driving up there they self." He explained.

"What ever." She crossed her arm over her chest, feeling her heart thump as he turned into their old neighborhood.

Kamaria was now 21 years old, and on her third year of college, and Samir was 22 on his third year of college as well.

The difference was, Samir had decided to go to college in Tampa which he enjoyed very much at USF. He wasn't far from home, or anything. Kamaria on the other hand got accepted into Florida A&M University, also known as FAMU.

So, in a way they had been doing long distance for the last three years. It was easier then most, because they were still in the same state, only four hours away. So every other Friday Samir made it his business to drive there—and bring her back to south Florida where they resided in a condo together.

Along with that, she visited every single break too, and they talked on the phone everyday—even if it was late at night when they were both doing homework.

When they first started their long distance, kamaria went through a slight depression that was only enhanced by her birth control. She was mad that Samir wouldn't let her transfer over in order to go to college closer to him. Now that it had been a couple of year, she really appreciated him for never letting her stop her dreams to be closer with him because he would always still be there.

After a little longer, kamarias eyes were shifting over everything as they pulled into the drive way of her child hood home. She hadn't stayed there in two and a half years, she only visited. Her room stayed the same of course and that's how everybody wanted it too. Especially kyree since they had all moved out including him.

Samir turned his car off and got out the car, walking around it and opening the door for kamaria. She put her hand out, and he grabbed it as she stood up out of the car.

Once she was fully out, he closed the door and hit the lock on his car. Draping his arm around kamaria he began walking and forcing her up at the same time.

They got to the door, and when she was about to knock, Samir sent daggers towards her. She was acting like a baby at this point. He twisted the doorknob and pushed the door open.

The chatter in the living room came to a halt once the two bodies stepped in.

A gasp slipped from almost everyone, and shock was written on their face. "Kamaria when the fuck did you get pregnant?!" Kyaire broke the silence in shock.

It was like once he said it, everybody knew it was real and not some hallucination—looking at the girl standing there with a six month old growing baby bump.

Kamaria lowered her head, knowing the disappointment speech was cooking up in their heads. She herself didn't even know how she got pregnant. She had switched from the pills to the depo shot which was even better. When she started gaining weight, she thought nothing of it because the doctors assured that was a side effect with having any birth control.

After going to get her second one after three months, they informed her it wasn't possible since she was four months pregnant. She swore she felt her entire world crashing upon her.

"Nigga chill wit all the yelling." Samir found himself frowning at his bestfriend. He pushed her inside a little more to close the front door, and the two just stood there with all eyes on them.

Everyone was there waiting for her arrival, but this was not what they expected.

It also made sense why her visits came to a complete stop a couple of months ago.

It was tameeka, Simone, Kyaire, kyree, zayden, Kourtney, Savion, Dexter, Sarai, Aaron, and even bianca.

Surprisingly,  tameeka and Simone had become the best of friends with Bianca. After her divorce, she showed up at the house, looking to apologize for dirt that had been done over eighteen years before with an explanation. On the behalf of her ex-husband. Simone took it better than imagined, and they even went to therapy together and built a very strong bond. Eventually she started hanging with tameeka and Simone since all their kids were gone off to college , and they were now the best of friends.

"Umm, about six months ago." Kamaria suddenly lost her confidence. Everybody knew her to be one of the most confident girls they knew, but now she just seemed timid and afraid.

"Why did you guys keep this from us?" Tameeka stood up from her seat in the couch, beginning to walk toward them to pull them further in the house. "Here baby sit down." She spoke softly placing her next to her mother.

Kamaria couldn't thank her enough because her feet were killing her. Kourtney came over quickly, and plopped right on the other side of her, a smile showcasing on her face.

She couldn't form words fast enough but she was beyond excited. If she would've knew earlier, she would've been stacking up on baby clothes and everything else you could think of.

"I was scared. I haven't even finished college yet yall." She replied , her eyes looking every where, landing on kyree. She swore he changed more everytime she saw him.

"But that's nothing to be ashamed of. You only have one more year to go, and that's pretty good considering how long you and slim have been together. At least your not a teenager anymore." Simone found her voice. "I'm just confused, are you not on birth control anymore?" She questioned.

Kamaria nodded her head quickly, "I was I swear. But I still got pregnant." She muttered the ending. She was blindsided. She never even had the symptoms.

"And you want this right?" Kourtney questioned her sincerely.

She nodded at her question.

"And you Samir?" Tameeka looked at her younger son. She always thought Savion would be the one to get someone pregnant first. She was so wrong though.

"Watchu mean? I'm the one who made sure she kept it." He frowned. He always expressed how much he wanted kids with kamaria, and though it was sooner than expected, he was still happier than ever.

"Damn man, my baby finna have a baby." Kyaire ran his hand down his mouth.

"Swear..." Zayden agreed. He watched her grow up, and she was just as much as his sister as she was kyaires. It was crazy to see, especially with his other bestfriend being the father of her unborn child.

"So—so what gender is it? You six months right? You know?" Kyree was standing in front of her. He wanted to reach out and touch her belly but he was hesitant.

Kamaria smiled softly, placing her palm on her stomach.

"It's a boy." She said watching a smile grow on both of her brothers face, and almost everyone else who wasn't still in shock.

Various awes and coos were shot her way making her blush. Everybody knew she wanted a girl first. There was too many boys already, but luck wasn't on her side. Nonetheless she was still excited. She wondered who he would look like more.

She hoped he was a mixture of the two.

"So...what are you going to do about college kamaria." Dexters voice boomed. He was having mixed emotions. His youngest baby was pregnant, but he would've preferred her to be well off before having kids.

"Well, he's due in august so I might have to sit out a semester. But that's fine, I've already started to do my paperwork so that my scholarship will still stand when I'm ready to come back." She explained quickly.

He sighed , pinching the bridge of his nose. He didn't want to fake and act jolly, but what was done was done. He couldn't stop it and he wouldn't try. "I'll be back, any of y'all need something from the store?" He reached in his pockets for his keys.

Nobody replied, confused as to why he was leaving.

"Sarai you coming," he asked but she just stared at him. Unable to speak. She was afraid she would have an outburst if she did. "Alright I guess not. I'll be back." He left quickly, he needed fresh air.

Kamaria dropped her head, feeling discouraged. Her and her father had been trying to work on their relationship, but she was afraid this had put a much bigger strain on them.

Everyone else noticed her shift, and started making conversation with her again, asking all kinds of questions. They were so excited for her and Samir. They were asking about names and everything under the sun.

Aaron had slipped out while doing so, but they didn't even care to notice.

Kamaria eventually blew out a breath. "I'm thirsty." She was getting ready to stand up, but Samir stopped her.

"I'll get it." He told her, making her sigh in relief. Her stomach was so large, so Samir had predicted it would be a boy and he was right.

"Okay thanks. I just want some water." She told him softly.

He left to go to the kitchen. Bianca, tameeka, and Simone hurried after him because they had some things they wanted to discuss while away from kamaria. Like a baby shower, and things of that nature.

"So, how's school ky?" She looked at her younger brother. He still had the cutest baby face in the world, but he looked more grown-ish, and had grown a muscular build.

"Ion know. Not how I expected but I like it." He shrugged his shoulders. Kyree had graduated at seventeen and had been going to morehouse all the way in Georgia for the last year. He was working hard on his football career, to get drafted, and there was a very high chance too. He was a freshman getting more playtime than most.

At his rate, he would get drafted before even graduating college, and that was his goal.

Really everybody was doing good.

Kourtney had got a chair at her cousin's hair salon and had so many clients that she made way more money than she ever thought she could.

Kyaire went to community college for two years and got his associate degree, but stopped there because college wasn't for him. Then he opened his own business with the money had had been saving up since high school, and now he fixed and sold cars and dirt bikes.

Zayden decided against college, and worked two years after school before Kyaire offered him a job which he happily took since it was something they both loved doing and they were well off. Kyaire was thinking about opening a second one at a new location where zayden would be a co-owner.

Kyaire even had his own place with Zariah, who was the receptionist at his shop. Zayden and Kourtney also lived together as well.

Sarai was attending St. Petersburg college, to be an dental hygienist.

Her and kamaria still weren't cool, and they didn't want to be either. Things had actually gotten worse which they didn't know was possible. They were co-existing at most.

Samir was close to getting his bachelor's degree majoring in sports management, and he was still a coach at the rec center, but he had a different team now since his original team had graduated and went to college. They still kept in contact with him and kamaria though.

Kamaria was an intern at a law firm, and she was also close to getting her bachelors, but of course she would probably have to put that on hold.

"That's good, I'm so proud of you." She was very happy. She saw kyree less than everyone else, because he went to college in a different state, so he didn't visit as frequent as her.

"I can't wait for you to have my nephew man, he finna have so much clothes and shit." Kyaire smiled. He had slowed up on the weed, since he was a business owner so he wasn't as frequent. He never seemed as drowsy , or tired anymore, and he talked way more now too and was always more aware.

Finally, Sarai stood up, and made her way to bathroom not wanting to hear this talk again.

"So how did Samir react when he found out?" Zayden questioned her.

Kamaria thought for a second. "Well..." she started. "It was a couple of months ago, and instead of him coming to get me I decided to drive my car down here instead." She explained.

"I had already found out, two weeks before, but I didn't know how to tell him because I didn't know how he would react." She continued, "then he just started asking me like what was wrong and stuff because he claims I was acting off. Ion know. Eventually I just told him—"

"I'm pregnant." She spoke sitting at the foot of the bed they shared together.

He was sitting next to her with her hands in his lap, staring at the side of her face.

"Wait I'm sorry, say that again." He wanted to make sure he heard her right in this moment.

"I'm pregnant, Samir." She replied, turning her head to eye him, wondering how he felt about it. "I—I don't know what happened. I promise I'm still on BC. If you don't wanna keep it then—hold on now..." he cut off her soon to come rant.

"Tayta, you can't get rid of my baby. You know how much this mean to me?" He questioned incredulously. He was still very much in shock, and confused but getting rid of his baby was out of the question.

"But Samir what...what about my dad I mean he won't be happy and..." she was about to continue, but he put his hand up.

"Listen, we grown as hell. You finna be twenty one in a month and I'm already twenty-two...so ion mean to be disrespectful but if he got a problem den fuck what yo dad gotta say. " he started. "If you wanna get rid of my baby because of what you feel—then look me in my eyes and say that's what you want. Not becaue of what you think other people want." He licked his lips.

She sighed, knowing she was just scared of how everybody would react. She was letting her fear speak for her.

"I wanna keep it, but what about school and stuff. We have one more year." She frowned.

"And we can work around that. But you gotta promise me you not gone get rid of our baby." His heart was pounding. Praying silently to god.

"Okay, I promise I won't." She nodded her head once, and this was the first time he had actually seen how sure she was on her face.

After that, he smiled reaching over to pull her on top of his body and she giggled, kicking her legs trying to scramble out of his hold. "We having a baby and shit." He couldn't stop smiling. "How far you is?"

Her body was still on top of his, and her face was in the crook of his neck. "I just turned 16 weeks." She replied , shocking him even more. He knew she had developed a pudge, but she didn't look like she was four months.

She didn't t know it, but he felt like the happiest person alive at the moment.

"Awwww, that's sounds so cute. I can't wait until you have him. I hope he has your pretty skin color omg I'm so excited." Kourtney was just imagining what her bestfriends baby would look like.

Samir walked from the kitchen looking disturbed. They had bombarded him with questions, and most of them, he had no answer to.

"Here you go baby." He passed her the cup, and she happily took it from him.

"Thank you." She smiled bringing the glass up to her lips and she began taking large gulps feeling dehydrated. She finished it quickly and sat the cup on the floor next to her feet.

"I have to pee." She whispered to herself. Her bladder wasn't what it used to be, especially now that her baby was an actual baby. It seemed to always be full, and she could never hold it.

Samir helped her up, watching her walk away with a slight waddle. It was one of the cutest things he had ever seen. You couldn't pay 14 year old him to believe kamaria of all people would be carrying his first son. God worked in mysterious ways though.

Getting to the bathroom, and wiggled the knob realizing Sarai must've still been in there. She knocked twice. "Can you hurry please? I have to pee." She spoke through the door.

Her and her sister's relationship was non-existent. They never bickered, they just pretended they didn't exist. A few seconds later she could hear the toilet flushing and the water running.

Kamaria started shifting on her feet, scared she would go on herself.

The door flung open though.

She was about to enter when she noticed her sister wiping her face, and she looked flushed. She wanted to ignore her, but she swore her baby gave her more emotions than she could handle. The old kamaria wouldn't give a damn.

"Are you okay?" She questioned placing her hand on her stomach.

Sarais eyes dropped to her stomach. Then they made their way back to her face. "You always ruin everything lil bit." Her frown was evident.

As much as kamaria wanted to act surprised she couldn't. This was Sarai, and she wasn't surprised she hadn't changed.

"What did I do now. I have barely even spoken to you in the last four years." She replied with a sigh.

Sarai hated how her sister felt like she was the problem. She could see it in her face, she was acting as if she was tired of her.

"How could you ruin my pregnancy announcement. I swear I can never have shit to myself." Sarai felt tears brimming to her face again.

Kamaria was now shocked. Just when she thought Sarai couldn't get more delusional here she was.

"First off, congratulations to your baby even though I couldn't get that same pleasure from you. And second, I didn't ruin anything. I had to come home, I didn't even want to. Why would you even plan on announcing that at a get together for me?" She asked confused.

Kamaria knew what she was doing. She planned on stealing her shine by announcing her pregnancy, but it just didn't go her way, so she resorted to crying all alone.

Sarai said nothing, she couldn't deny she was envious of her sister. Being pregnant had did kamaria wonders, she was even glowing. Sarai was beautiful, and her little sister was the only one who could make her feel ugly. It was always some sort of competition, and kamaria was sick of it.

She was so self centered she couldn't even be happy about her bringing another life in this world.

"When, did you get a boyfriend anyway? How far along are you?" Kamaria was trying her hardest, but she couldn't do it by herself.

"I'm only four months." She muttered watching kamaria drop her eyes to her stomach. She had on baggy clothes, so she couldn't tell but it made sense. Sarai would never wear baggy clothes; she was a showstopper. "And don't worry about who the dad is." She frowned.

"You know what Sarai, I'm not about to kiss your unstable ass. Bye." Kamaria rolled her eyes rushing into the bathroom to relieve her bladder.

Sarai would never tell her who the father of her baby was, because she was embarrassed. He didn't even want to be in her life. Another reason why she was jealous of kamaria. She had managed to get in a loving relationship with someone she wanted first, they had been lasting for years and counting, and now they were having a baby.

On top of that, Samir admitted he wanted it—probably more than kamaria did.

All her baby's father did was give her money for an abortion, and she wouldn't dare do such a thing.

Sarai rolled her eyes making her way to the living room. At twenty-one, her life was a wreck—and she still found some way to blame others for her misfortune. "I had a good time, but I'm gone." She announced, picking up her purse. "Tell my momma." She left out the door.

They didn't even pay her any mind.

Kamaria eventually came back , taking her seat.

"You okay?" Samir asked, since he always noticed her energy shift.

He placed his hand on her stomach since half of it was visible. For some reason she refused to wear maternity clothes. She claimed they were ugly. So, half the time her shirts only went down halfway. She liked the look though.

"Yep." She nodded laying her head on his shoulder.

Samirs eyes widened when he felt a kick, and it was like him and kamaria shared the same expression. They were so excited to bring him into the world.

Heyy. So I have three more bonus chapters ideas after this—and this this book will be officially done. Thoughts? How y'all feel abt how everybody is doing?

What should they name the baby.

When what they see ends, the sequel to this will come.
