"Inspire me from the heart, can't nothing tear us apart. You're all I want in a man, I put my life in your hands."
CAYETON MURRAY
NOVEMBER 2nd, 2007
FRIDAY 7:14 pm
"CAN YOU PLEASE stop sniffing and wiping your tears over this damn boy Cayeton. He showed you his true colors infront of everybody and embarrassed you, let him go." Taraji spoke with a frown on her face looking at her bestfriend who was a wreck.
They were currently in Tyrone mall located in their city, getting some new shoes and outfits since summer had ended a month ago and it was beginning to get a little more chilly.
Cayeton couldn't pull herself together though, she was still in her feelings about what happened a week ago, and it was paining Taraji because they were bestfriends and she hated to see her like this.
"How could he just say that shit like it was nothing though." Cayeton mumbled looking down knowing Taraji was right. It was over a week ago and she still wasn't over it. Granted they had known each other for six months that was plenty enough time to get attached.
"I mean I literally held him down." She muttered shaking her head feeling so ashamed, not because she thought things would be the same when he got out, but because she still felt for him even after what happened at the party.
"First of all I'm only saying this cause you my bitch. My main at that, you didn't hold him down." Taraji stated matter of factly as she got a pretty light blue sweater in a size up from her size.
Cayetons head snapped up. "You entertained other niggas , and you met him when he was already in not before. You can only hold him down if y'all were together, and I'm sorry to say y'all weren't. And I'm not saying this to hurt or be shady towards you but you have to draw the line somewhere." Taraji expressed.
"You started taking him serious when he got out and you saw how much respect he really had and the type of person he really was, because he's a good person. It intrigued you and I can't blame you, but that's all it was and you know that." Taraji pursed her lips placing her hand without bags on cayetons shoulder.
"Why don't I just help you meet someone new?" Taraji suggested with the tilt of her head. She could see it in cayetons face that she was completely against it.
"I don't want to get with another nigga out of spite Taraji. I really feel like you want me to drop it so that that you won't have to be in an awkward space between me and that hoe. Which is really fake on your part. If I got pressure with her then so should you." Cayeton spat.
Tarajis face fell feeling some truth behind her words. "I'm sorry I wasn't seeing it like that. And maybe because I know her too that I'm not biased and I'm in the middle so I apologize if I made you feel that way." Taraji went on not seeing a point in arguing about the obvious.
Her bestfriend didn't like her being cordial with someone that she didn't like and she understood that. "If you want me to stop being cool with them that's fine." She offered. "I jus don't see why your stressing so much, you should've knew he would come to her defense before yours, they like family." Taraji claimed.
Truthfully, after finding out their parents were together it knocked Taraji off the ship, realizing they wouldn't be romantically involved with that over their heads."Please." Cayeton scoffed at her bestfriend and the statement she had made. "Now you sound like the naive one, there is no blood line connecting them, and anything is possible." Cayeton spoke reality.
"Enough of that though because I don't want to think about it, you can still be cool with them dirty ass skeezers. Only to benefit us though." Cayeton wiped her face grabbing a pair of coogie jeans that caught her eye.
"Like...play both sides?" Taraji frowned not liking that. It went against her character and everything she stood for which was to be a loyal friend. She would rather not be associated with them at all then to play both sides and be a messy individual because just that's what her bestfriends heart desired.
"Yep, keep your distance of course. But if they offer to hang out and you see them in public just get the scoop for me you know? You my girl right? That's shouldn't be a issue." Cayeton spoke eyeing the jeans in her hands while Taraji deflated with Astonishment written over her face.
"I guess." Taraji swallowed making Cayeton look up with a koolaid smile on her face.
"I knew you was a real ass bitch girl." Cayeton praised her friend, she didn't know what she was going to do but she had to find a way to get slim to forgive her so they could move past this.
It was killing her spirit, and it was all in her appearance. Cayeton wasn't ugly, and she had a body that made heads turn. Right now though in the mall she looked like she was making a trip to Walmart with her oversized uncoordinated and unmatched clothes and a messy bun with a few strands falling from her clip-in hairstyle.
"Anyways, I'm done thinking about that hoe that got a good five body's under her belt. You think these will be cute with some ugg boots—or fur boots?" She held the low waist jeans up in tarajis view.
"Yeah, some black uggs for sure and a cute long sleeve or jacket, cause you know it ain't gonna get to cold, just real windy and shit." Taraji nodded giving her advice on the jeans,
"Right. I thinking a Gucci sweater or something." Cayeton nodded throwing the jeans over her arm to hold them while she sifted through the rest of the clothes.
"I wasn't thinking of Gucci, but that's definitely cute too." Taraji nodded poking her bottom lip out in approval making her nod.
"Great."

KAMARIA WOODS
NOVEMBER 2nd, 2007
FRIDAY 8:36 pm
"LET ME GET one, baby girl." Samir leaned over taking a tater tot off her plate as she dipped her in ketchup making her pause to side eye him.
"Don't ever in your miserable ass life play with me like that." She spat lowly watching him eat the tater tot with a smirk on her face as her brothers began laughing at her.
Tater tots had to be her favorite things in the world to eat. They were also convenient to her which made them all the more better. "Watchu gon do?" Samir asked then looking to see she had shifted her attention back to the movie they were all watching together.
"Fuck around and find out slim." She muttered before turning her body to place her feet in his lap making her more comfortable since she was slouched in her seat, paining her back.
He immediately frowned looking down at her feet with her toes that were out, his eyes darting between her smooth skin and the light pink nail polish that corrupted her nicely shaped toe nails.
"Fuck is wrong with you?" He questioned with his eyebrows furrowed, pushing her feet from his lap just for her to put them right back on his lap without a word.
"Ion gotta explain myself to you. This my house, get in where you fit in." She taunted him and he just shook his head at her words. She would always throw jabs about how he was at her house more than his own.
Matter of fact he was never home unless his curfew was up, that was just where he slept. He didn't like admitting out loud that their house had better, family friendly vibes that made him feel better on the inside. He would keep that to himself because no one else needed to know.
He got ready to object, but the loud ring on the hook phone made all four individuals in the living room jump at the loud unexpected noise. "The fuck man? We got a regular house phone for a reason. Nobody even use the bitch." Kamaria complained removing her feet from Samir sitting her plate down and standing up.
Samirs eyes fell down to her ass as she walked away leaving him to lick his lips. After going to the courts with her two days out of the week for a past month he had to admit she had curves for days despite her tall figure.
He leaned over slickly taking another tater tot as kamaria pranced in the kitchen picking the phone up from the hook answering it. "Helloooo?" She sang as she drug out the word.
"Hello, is Samir there?" The deep raspy voice immediately said, making her jerk her head back.
"I know you ain't callin my damn — slim! Why you got other niggas calling a home that ain't yours, for you." She fussed just to farther prove her point that he was at her house to much.
She didn't even mind as much as she put off, but to bother him it was so worth it to nag him about it.
Samirs face fell at her outburst as he smacked his teeth. "Ion even know who would be callin here for me, ask who it is." He told her as Kyaire and kyree listened wondering who it was too.
With a huff kamaria turned her back to him bringing the phone back to her ear. "Yeah, who the hell is this?" She questioned hearing the person on the line laugh.
"For a second I thought I was trippin. Lil bit I know dat ain't you on this phone cussing me out like you grown and youn got no sense." The voice laughed at her making her heart skip a beat. "I'm telling ya mama." He went on while her lips parted.
"On my god, heyyyy." She dragged a big smile taking over her face, confusing Samir because he could've swore the call was for him. This made him stand up starting to walk to the kitchen holding his pants up.
"I'm doing good." He heard her say as she nodded like a little school girl on the phone. He snapped his fingers in her face and she made eye contact before waving him off. "I miss you too, when are you gonna be here?" She questioned.
Samir sunk his teeth into his bottom lip having enough of her acting like that and snatched the phone. "Fuck you cup-caking on the phone for lil girl I thought you said it was fa me, who was it?" He questioned placing the phone to his ear watching her roll her eyes.
"Who dis?" He immediately asked watching her turn on her heels walking away from him.
"Ya father nigga." The voice boomed and Samir paused before a big smile broke out on his face hearing his older brother Savion.
"Nigga, I been waiting to hear from yo ass. You too good and shit now?" Samir questioned laughing in the process feeling an extreme amount of relief and happiness hearing from his brother.
"I can say the same thing. Everytime I call momma she tell me you ain't there, and I know ya curfew spot is at ya pops house so I be calling after eleven but he be tellin me you sleep. So I finally just said give me this number and tried my luck today. Ian expect you to be there though." Savion explained. "I could never catch you at the right time."
"My bad man, ian even know. Ion really be talkin to mom or my dad like that I can't lie. I go in the house for something and leave right back out." He told him truthfully.
"Yeah I heard. Ma think you back in the streets. She said the only reason she got faith is cause ya grades improving and not getting worse." He laid it out on the table making his heart ping.
"Ian know she felt that way. Maybe if she would've just spoke up I could explain ion really do shit but sit in this house with Kyaire and nem. That's it I swear. Ion want her to be disappointed in me again." He unintentionally expressed his self.
He was so scared of disappointing his mother, having to see how drained she looked when she had to come visit him at least twice a month. He hated it with all his heart, and that was part of what was driving him to stay out of trouble. Even with Kyaire doing what he still did he didn't felt that affect him and what he did.
"Ian mad atchu man. I can hear you sincere about it. I hope you staying out of trouble for real slim. We don't need no repeats. You gone be eighteen soon, that's real prison time Nigga." Savion gave it to his younger brother straight up.
Savion was in college on a full ride scholarship for football at FAMU. He was a good four hour drive from his home but he had to excel in life and staying there in his home city would do him no good. He knew his brother still had a chance though.
"Yeah I preciate dat." Samir nodded to himself letting his brothers words sink in. He looked up to his brother in. A lot of ways, and it was sad they went down separate paths.
"Yeah, so now that's out the way. I'm happy I'm finally talkin to you man, imma be down there for thanksgiving break in a few weeks." he revealed making Samir smile even bigger. He hadn't been able to see his brother in a while since he couldn't be there for his release.
"For real? Shit I'm ready, I can't wait to show you I can beat yo ass now." Samir teased his older brother hearing a hearty laughed submerge from the other line.
"Yeah Nigga don't get it twisted though. They don't call you slim for no reason, and i play football, it's my job to work out." He reminded his brother that he was slightly buff.
"Man fuck all that, don't let looks deceive you. I just left from a place where all you could do was workout." Samir reminded him the same way he had just done, and Savion laughed.
"Aight lil nigga, you got heart I see. Catch me up though, tell me some shit ion know so I can be prepared when I get there." Savion went on not wanting the conversation to end yet. It had felt like forever since they talked.
"Ion know man. I been coolin ain't much to say." Samir shrugged not thinking anything worthy to tell his brother off the top of his head. The only good thing was his grades and evidently their mother had informed him about that already.
"What's dis I hear bout lil bit being yo girlfriend or some shit?" Savion asked hearing Samir began to choke on his spit out of shock.
"And nigga who the fuck told you that?" He asked after he was able to breathe properly even though he had a good idea of who. Savion laughed thinking it was funny.
"Youn gotta be embarrassed. It's good you ain't dating someone for looks, at least it's genuine." He teased making Samir furrow his eyebrows forgetting to even tell him he didn't date her when his next question flew out.
"When the last time you seen kamaria?" The question flew out his mouth using her first name.
This was simply because he had became accustomed to calling her tayta instead—yet he didn't feel comfortable letting other people know his unique nickname for her.
He didn't know why, and he didn't want to have to explain himself either.
"Its been a while, but don't be ashamed. Love is love lil bro." Savion snickered implying she lacked good looks which baffled Samir. It really had to had been a while since he saw her.
"Haha so funny nigga." Samir rolled his eyes not wanting to clear her name. He actually wanted to see how stupid he looked when he did see her, that was something to look forward too.
"Anyways, it's nothing wit me and her. She tutored me at momma house a few days ago and she claims to say I was looking at her a certain way and she know we secretly dating when we ain't. You know, normal delusional mother stuff." Samir shrugged hearing his brother burst into laughter.
"That lady crazy man. Youn gotta lie to impress me though." Savion smirked even though he couldn't see him. "The heart want what it want." He continued to get under his skin.
"You know what nigga, imma just let you talk." Samir shook his head refusing to keep pleading his case. Especially to his mother who wouldn't hear him out for nothing.
"Don't be mad baby bro. I'm jus fuckin wit you, you can date whoever you want. At least lil bit got a good head on her shoulders." Savion shrugged still not believing his brother.
"Nigga how the fuck would you know?" Samir spat scrunching his face up before looking up seeing kyree and kamaria were staring at him from his outburst. Kyaire simply didn't care, as always.
Samir waved them off tuning back into the call. "Oh shit don't hurt me. Getting defensive and shit, look at dat." Savion just couldn't stop making jabs on him, on purpose at that. "But yeah I know, don't forget I'm only a sophomore in college, I was a senior when she was a freshman and I used to see first hand how smart she was in school." He shrugged.
Samir calmed down a little bit after hearing his explanation, but he was still beyond irritated behind his brothers remarks about kamaria, and what ever they had going on even though it was nothing , or at least nothing that Savion had thought— was going on between them.
"Aight man cool." Samir said, the attitude evident in his voice making his brother die of laughter. Samir wasn't one to hide his emotions. If he felt a way you would know.
"Get out yo damn feelings. Must be on yo man period." Savion muttered, "but aight imma holla atchu soon, I should be there on the 17th" Savion continued.
"Aight cool, but we better talk before then anyway. You know where I be now." Samir asserted seriously.
"Say no more lil bro." Savion agreed before they said their goodbyes and hung up the phone with each other faithfully. Samir hung the phone on the hook pulling his pants up as he entered back in the living room.
Once he flipped back on the couch he looked at kamaria who had slowed down eating her tater tot's feeling his eyes on her. "Fuck you was so happy to talk to him for?" He questioned her.
"Huh?" Her lips parted seeing the look on his face that perplexed her to the fullest. It almost resented jealousy, but Samir was too good at hiding his true emotions.
"You heard me though," he refused to entertain her antics.
Kyree turned around with a smirk since he was sitting comfortably on the pallet he had made on the floor just for him.
"Cause she crushing on him bad. Ain't you lil bit." Kyree smirked wondering if she would tell the truth. He overheard her on the phone a couple years back and never missed a chance to tease her for it.
"No the hell I don't. Get out my business he wasn't talking to you." Kamaria defended mugging her little brother. "I used to think he was cute but thats it." She found herself explaining to Samir.
His eyes shifted all over her face while she stared back wishing she could read his thoughts. She didn't know why she felt so embarrassed about him knowing that but she regretted telling him, because now she couldn't tell what he was thinking about her.
His eyes just kept moving, staying trained on her pretty face that looked uneasy and unsure.
What shocked her even more was the fact that he said nothing afterwards, instead slouching into his spot focusing back on the TV that was playing Enchanted which kamaria of course chose. She was like the baby even though kyree was the youngest. She always got her way.
Still all three boys were slightly interested, Kyaire the most who hadn't even so much as looked their way as he watched the movie.
Kamaria swallowed the lump in her throat not missing the look on his face but chose to ignore it since he wouldn't say anything to make her plead a case.
After watching the movie a little longer, Simone and Aaron stumble through the door joking amongst themselves. "Oop. Sorry did we interrupt?" Simone asked noticing the lights were off as the four watched the movie in the dark lounged around the living room comfortably. Samir even had let kamaria put her feet back in his lap so she was beyond comfortable.
"Nah we straight." Samir said eyeing them as they walked through the house in fancy attire, while Aaron closed the front door locking it.
"How was y'all date?" Kamaria asked still in the comforts of sitting on the couch with her feet propped up. Kyaire was too busy trying to look around the two to focus on the movie.
He didn't know why it was so intriguing but it was.
"Yeah how was y'all date?" Kyree asked drinking the cup of tropical punch koolaid he had in his hand bringing it to his mouth to drink never letting his eyes leave the two adults.
"It was really nice, but no need to go into details. How was y'all night cooped up in this dang house like always?" Simone questioned flicking the lights on catching kyaires attention.
"Come on ma!" He exclaimed feeling annoyed by the light. They had been sitting in the dark for a hour and his eyes had adjusted so it physically hurt them when she flicked it on so suddenly.
Simone snickered. "It's been cool, like really cool and fun actually. This movie good, we got snacks and stuff, and I don't know just all of us sitting here watching the movie feels comforting." Kyree explained making Simone smile. "So with that being said can y'all turn the light back off and gon on somewhere? Preciate it." He finished making her smile disappeared in seconds.
"Well he told y'all." Kamaria tittered looking at their shocked faces. If anyone were to say something like that they expected the two eldest ones, not kyree. That was a true sign that meant he was serious.
"Well okay we gonna watch our own movie then. With y'all rude ass." Simone said gaining no reaction from them making her smack her teeth at how ruthless and careless children could actually be. "Come on aaron." Simone muttered walking down the hallway for him to follow.
"And then she got the nerve to not even turn the light back off like I asked." Kyree shook his head like he was disappointed at the fact. Still, he hoisted himself up from his comfortable spot on the floor padded with covers and pillows, and turned the light back off.
"You hurt momma feelings, can't wait to see her not cook you nothing tomorrow morning." Kamaria said with a big smile on her face. She loved to watch him suffer and vice versa.
"Shut up, hater. You love to see a Nigga downfall but ion care." He waved her off going back to watching the movie that he was going so hard for.
"Y'all always arguing, shut the hell up. I'm trynna see if he gon marry that shawty, or that one." Kyaire pointed at the tv.
"Of course your cheating ass wanna know. That's why you like this shit, he got two options." Kamaria said lowly since she was cursing and her mother was home.
"Just shut up little girl you don't know nothing about me. I don't even know you like that." Kyaire replied carelessly making Samir shake his head at the stupidity that just flew out of kyaires mouth. He knew mari like the back of his palm.
All three of them had problems.

Thoughts and predictions? Cayetons pov? Savion coming? Samirs reaction to kamaria saying his brother was cute?
