KAMARIA WOODS
SEPTEMBER 10th 2007
MONDAY 7:00 am

KAMARIA APPLIED LIP gloss to her lips standing in her full body mirror with her school outfit on. Her eyes raked over her self as she wore a black skin tight dress that hugged her body just right and a pair of black tory Burch thong sandals to go with.

Today instead of her signature two puffs like always, she wore her natural hair in a half up half down style. She had on a single necklace with one pearl on it and though it was only one pearl, it wasn't fake along with the 10k carat gold it was on.

She had in a medium sized pair of gold hoops in her first ear holes, and her second holes were occupied by a pair of small stud earrings. She changed her nose piercing jewelry to a hello kitty stud, and the gold bangles from guess on her right wrist completed her look fully.

In the back ground her favorite song was playing. It had just been released a year earlier and she had been obsessed with the song called long way 2 go ever since. No one could tell her anything about that song.

"If you really wanna know me, first of all, You should never try to get too personal. 'Cause I meant it when I said that you got a long way to go." She sung on tune to herself as the music played from her small pink and white portable CD player boombox.

Suddenly three loud bangs on her room door snapped her out of singing as she mugged her door even though it was closed and they couldn't see her.

"Lil bit come on! Everybody ready but you mane!" She heard Kyrees voice boom from the other side of the large white door separating them. She looked over to her nightstand where her digital clock sat on her dresser letting her know it was only twenty five minutes til school started so she decided not to argue.

She sighed picking up her Louis Vuitton brown leather backpack that her dad bought her for school slanging it over her right shoulder. She got ready to leave her room she paused looking at her stereo before clicking the button watching it pop open.

She retrieved her CD knowing her brother was going to have to argue with her today because she wanted to listen to her music on the way to school today and it wasn't up for debate either. After that she picked up her pager before sauntering out of her room making sure to close her room door as she left.

Walking outside she felt the humid air slap her in the face, and she hoped her hair would cooperate with this weather today seeming as it would be hot. As she walked down the porch steps in her sandals. You would've thought she was dressing up, but the black dress was probably the most plain thing she had wore all school year.

Her outfits were always over the top, she had great style.

She walked out to her brothers' car, and she frowned seeing her little brother was sitting in the pick up today. "Why you back here?" She questioned opening the passenger door, looking at her little brother who was chilling on the back of the car.

"We picking up slim today, ion got time to argue with neither one of y'all annoying ass so I'll just do it." He muttered with a shrug. She rolled her eyes at his statement.

This was the first time she wished she had to sit in between her two brothers during a car ride to school. Being between both โ€” her brother and Samir would just make it all much more awkward than it already is.

Especially since their rekindle attempt on Saturday night didn't go as planned for others.

Kamaria was to stubborn, and samir was way to nonchalant towards the situation at hand. It would take a miracle to get them to talk now, because after samir had tried once, he swore it would be his last.

She ducked her head down getting in the car sitting her bag by her feet. Kyaire just sat there with one hand on the wheel staring straight ahead, zoned out in fact. This was a everyday thing, he needed a few moment to fully wake up.

Kamaria just sat there putting her seat belt on. Finally Kyaire licked his lips blinking a few times. "Aight you ready?" He questioned looking over to his right and she nodded before a small smile took over her face.

"We definitely listening to my music today." She pulled her CD up so he could see it clearly. He smacked his teeth immediately at the sight. "Please K3. If you love me you will." She poked her bottom lip out pouting.

"Whatever, put the shit in and shut up." He muttered putting his car in drive since he was parallel parked out on the street. Kamaria giggled putting her disc in skipping all the way to track five hearing long way 2 go start playing. She loved that song to death.

She turned it up a little bit more, but not to much keeping in mind that it was still seven in the morning. She started wiggling in her seat doing random dances as her song played in the car.

Even K3 was trying his best not to bop his head to the beat as she song softly. "See, I buy my own bags, my boots, my jeansz. Wear LaRok with my Rebel Yell underneath." She sung listing on her fingers and her brother rolled his eyes.

She didn't buy anything for herself, if it wasn't him buying it, it was their dad, if it wasn't their dad, it was him. No way other around it, it was kind of annoying at times considering she had a job at dollar general and made a good amount for a sixteen year old with no prior experience in retail but he would do anything for her.

Kyaire turned on 43rd driving down the block all the way to the end stopping right in front of the cream colored house. He hit his steering wheel once creating one loud honk from his horn and Samir instantly walked out dressed down in true religion as if he was waiting at the door.

He held the front of his pants up, swaggering over to the car slowly. He didn't have not one thing in sight that clued he was going to school, not even a pencil or a piece of paper. He licked his lips quickly before greeting kyree.

"Waddup." He nodded his head at kyree tugging on the car door and it popped open giving him the opportunity to slide into the car smoothly. "Yo." He spoke to no one in particular after getting in.

"Wassam." Kyaire spoke naturally in a soft tone as his voice rasped, still being tired. He was so sick of school truthfully he couldn't wait til may when he graduated.

"Hey." She muttered now sitting in the middle between the two of them. She sighed leaning forward to change the song to the next track on the CD and when I wanna love you by Akon started playing she began smiling again.

She loved music so much.

Samir and Kyaire had matching identical smirks on their face as the girl did weird dances in the middle of them, and they shook their head but said nothing. For once kyree was happy to sit in the back because he could sort of hear the music from his spot and him and his sister didn't have the same music taste sometimes.

For the rest of the short ride to school the girl did the same thing while the boys said literally nothing. Samir didn't want to go to school but it was required because of his probation, so he was trying to wrap his head around being in highschool.

This would actually be his first time actually going to a high school and he was already a senior, so he was curious as to what it would bring. Finally pulling up to Bayside highschool he drove around parking in the spot labeled 391 which was his parking spot.

Pulling in and Samir scoped it out seeing all the teenagers walking towards the school. He wiped his palms on his true religion jeans before looking to his left to already see kamaria staring dead at him waiting for him to go so she could get out.

Instead of saying anything, he just opened the door and easily slid out as kyree hopped out the back. "See y'all later." Kyree spoke walking away from the immediately. He was the type of person that acted like he didn't even have siblings at school.

"Wait for me." Kamaria picked up her bag and jogged a few steps to the boy pulling her dress down once she stopped. Usually she would walk with Kyaire but he would be with Samir so she just decided to walk up to school with kyree and separate once they got inside.

Samir stood by the car waiting on Kyaire as he watched kamaria and kyree walk away. He shifted his eyes back to Kyaire awkwardly hoping that wasn't noticeable how he just looked at his sister.

"You annoying, get away from me I'm not related to you at school." Kyree frowned softly pushing her away since she was too close.

"Why you don't wanna be seen with me. I'll get you popularity, don't you know I'm fine as wine." She puckered her lips, "and I'm a cheerleader. Like boo everybody know me." She shrugged and he just side eyed her.

"Get away from me kamaria soleil." He used her middle name in order to come off as serious, but his older sister just snickered at him, staying right next to him. "If you don't get away from me I'm telling K3 how you and slim was looking at each other on Saturday." He threatened.

He really was the snitch of the bunch.

"And how would that be sir? I don't recall." She chose to play dumb. Kyree cleared his throat side eyeing his sister wondering if she really wanted him to go there. It wasn't exactly discreet, they had done it openly actually.

Kamaria didn't hear the end of it when her and Kourtney made it to her room that night, she teased kamaria the whole time while she just glared at her. Kamaria swore to her it was nothing like that, she just wasn't expecting him to look like that.

He had grown his hair out, he'd grown taller and more slim and she finally understood the new found nickname considering his new hair didn't even make it possible for his head shape to be shown. Now only that but his voice was so deep, his smile was so adorable on his little cute baby face, and she didn't even want to get started on his attire.

How could she not stare?

It was a one time thing though, and she was proving that completely as she barely even spared him a second glance today, and he did the same. He couldn't find him self looking at her like that again, he was just slipping.

Spending time away from the outside world had him thinking with the wrong thing, but he was sure he was fine now as that would've been a one time thing only.

Another reason he felt as if they had the stare down because they both knew they needed to talk, desperately. Her turning down the conversation made him mad, but he couldn't find it in himself to care. He was just too nonchalant, and he had tried multiple times already, face to face was the last straw.

She didn't want to talk to him, and he wouldn't make her. It wasn't in him to do so.

"Yeah okay, play stupid if you want. You need to talk to dat man, and stop being stubborn. He don't even blame you. You just over think shit too much." Kyree swore but at this point she had tuned him out. He talked about Samir too much, and she didn't want to.

"Yeah I love you too baby bro. See you later." She said even though he didn't say anything close to that, and disregarded him parting ways without a reply as they walked through the double doors.

He scrunched his face up not liking how she just brushed him off, until he remembered he didn't want her to be walking with him in the first place, so he quickly dropped it.

Kamaria rubbed her eye lid feeling the itching sensation while making her way over to her locker which was on the east wing of the school. She needed to switch out some of her books for her first four periods, and she didn't want her bag to be so heavy.

"Heyy girl!" Kourtney chirped finding her way next to kamaria after seeing her brother pull up. It was needless to say that Kourtney was the only person kamaria really associated herself with on a friend level.

Everybody else were just associates to her and she didn't even associate with them, Kourtney was the only person who could say that they communicated outside of school. In a way kamaria liked it that way, because it was less to deal with.

Her social battery was naturally low, and having to deal with multiple friends would be draining, so dealing with one was fine.

Kamaria mugged slightly, turning her head to face Kourtney. "Why you so uppity, it's too early kourt." She spoke making Kourtney giggle.

"I'm just so happy today, my man gone take me to a drive in movie laterrrr." She dragged out, blushing by only thinking about it. Kamaria smiled lightly stopping right in front of 2023 which was her locker number.

"That's what's up. It seem like he stepping up." She gave credit where it was deserved. Kourtney and Dontrell always confused her because she claimed him while he didn't claim her, and she knew for a fact he wasn't faithful to her.

Maybe he was changing.

"I knowww right." She smiled with a big kool aid smile plastered on her face. She had never been so excited. Kourtney was a pretty girl, she was a pretty dark mocha color just like kamaria and she kept her hair and nails done at all times. She kept up with herself, always smelled good, she never dressed down at all. She stood at 5'5 compared to kamarias 5'8 and she had curves for days.

She had the power to pull anybody she wanted without even batting a eyelash, yet she was stuck on dontrell of all people. Kamaria had narrowed it down to being the sex, it had to be, because it was literally all he offered. Still she didn't like to talk down on what ever their relationship was so she minded her business.

Kamaria finished putting in her lock combination before pulling it down popping it open, swinging her locker door open. "You know I caught him texting your sister two days ago? At the welcome home party." She told kamaria.

Kamaria raised her eyebrows getting her Spanish composition notebook. "Really? My sister? Sarai?" She questioned unable to believe that.

Kourtney nodded her head, "yes and she so out of line. She is such a hโ€”aht don't talk about my sister like that." Kamaria cut her off before she could get as far as to insult her.

Anybody with eyes could see that kamaria and Sarai didn't see eye to eye, just by the way they acted towards each other. Regardless she was still her blood and she drew the line at standing around and letting people talk about her no matter what terms they were on. At the end of the day that was her sister weather she liked it or not.

Kamaria had the feeling of roles were reversed Sarai wouldn't show her that same respect, but it just didn't sit right with her at all and she couldn't let stuff like that happen.

Kourtney deflated, "You right that's my bad. The things she was saying knowing we talk though was crazy. She was like she gone put her pussy in his mouth then send him home to me. That's so trifling." She ranted while kamaria zipped her bag up.

"For real?" Kamaria questioned scrunching her face in disgust. "Now that is trifling I'm not gonna hold you. Still though at the end of the day, you can't be mad at her and not dontrell because he let her speak down on you and ain't check her boo. I'm just saying." Kamaria shrugged eyeing herself in the mini adhesive mirror on her locker door.

Kourtney frowned at the fact that she didn't even think about it in that way. "I guess you right, but he told me he finna drop all his side pieces so I'm cool wit dat." She shrugged.

Kamaria shook her head at her praising the bare minimum but kept her comments to herself, it was only so much she could say. "Well I'm happy for you, I hope all goes well. Meanwhile imma be at work then catch the bus straight home making up all this chemistry homework." She sighed closing her locker back.

"What you mean? We only a month in school, you backed up on homework already?" She questioned as they began walking away heading to the cafeteria until the bell rang.

"Mmcht yes. I hate that class so much." She expressed shaking her head as if she was tired. Chemistry was not for the weak, she didn't know how she was maintaining a B, but she knew it was a graduation requirement if she wanted to go to college which she did.

Arriving to the cafeteria there was a heap of students lounging, some eating breakfast but others were just conversing with each other using this as their social time until school started.

"I'm finna get me a lil orange juice pouch." Kamaria said scoping out the shortest line before getting in it. Kourtney was right next to her as they stood in line.

"So girl, my brother was asking bout you. I think y'all lil game of cat and mouse is becoming real to him and ion know how to feel about it." Kourtney expressed as kamaria put her pin in the system knowing she received reduced breakfast and lunch.

Kamaria raised her eyebrows at the mention of saint actually being interested in her. "You think?" She questioned making Kourtney nod. "So what, you think I should just stop playing around with him and giving him a false narrative? I thought we was just joking." She explained.

"So you don't really like him?" Kourtney asked confused. She could've swore she had a crush on her brother, but watching kamaria shake her head without a ounce of hesitation shocked her.

"I told you, he's cute but that's it. Plus too much comes with him no offense, I don't do drama." She shrugged as they began their journey to the usual round table they sat at with their brothers.

"Yeah I get that, he my brother but you my girl so imma keep it real, he ain't big on monogamy. Big cheater, you dodged one." Kourtney said truthfully making kamaria giggle.

"Okay let's stop talking about him before we get to this table." She muttered softly keeping the smile on her face. As they got there for a split second she forgot about Samir, but was quickly reminded when she saw Sarai and her bestfriend Imani engaging with Samir, Kyaire, and saint.

Kamaria tried to hide her frown knowing for a fact Sarai didn't sit with them at all. She knew it was some kind of ploy and she wasn't with that truthfully. Keeping her composure she sat her tray on the table and took a seat between Kyaire and saint.

"Hey lil sis." Sarai waved her fingers and kamaria pursed her lips repeating her motion.

"Watcha doin here?" Kamaria questioned tilted her head picking up the clear plastic pouch full of orange juice and bit the corner placing it in her mouth.

"Nothing I was just sayin hey and getting caught up wit slim and Kyaire, you remember Imani." She reminded mari that her best friend was sitting there.

"Yeah, hey" she pulled the pouch away momentarily before going to finish it off.

"Aye lil bit," Kyaire started off watching her drag her eyes over to him. She didn't want to come out the mouth slick, she was literally fighting with herself. "Can slim ride yo dirt bike while you at work today?" He questioned.

Samir shifted his eyes between the two continuously. When Kyaire said he had a bike for him to borrow later today he didn't know he meant hers, he didn't know she had one.

Kamaria thought about it for a second. "Ain't you a lil rusty, what if you fuck my shit up?" She asked curiously but seriously. That was like her prized possession, and just like her brother she loved riding her dirt bike and learning new tricks. She wasn't as advanced as her older brother, but he took it was more serious so she didn't stress it.

Samir smacked his teeth at her question. "I got dis lil mama, ian gone fuck it up. Please?" He questioned. He didn't want to be left out of all the fun after hearing saint and Kyaire would be riding their bikes.

"Whatever bruh, you fuck anything upโ€”you paying for it. Sure you can ride it." She agreed before turning her head to face Kourtney who had a mug plastered on her face.

She would bite her tongue out of respect for friends' wishes she didn't disrespect her sister, but that didn't mean she liked her. It was so much tension at the table but kamaria was the queen of ignoring and playing dumb so she acted oblivious to it.

"As I was about to say before we got to the table, do you wanna catch the bus to adventure island on Saturday?" She questioned referring to the water park in Tampa that had to be around 45 minutes away via bus.

It was September and summer would be over in a month so she was trying to enjoy the last of it. It wouldn't get to cold for fall, or even winter but it would definitely be cold enough to keep her away from any water.

She loved going to amusement and water parks, and luckily in Tampa there was Busch gardens, and adventure island. They had passed there since they went so much, at least twice a month.

"Saturday? Why not Friday after school. Cause I do wanna go as soon as possible." Kourtney said, and if it wasn't obvious everyone at the table were silently listening to their conversation.

"Because I have a game Friday," she sighed. Kamaria loved cheering so much, but sometimes thinking of games made her head hurt. "Do you wanna go or what? It would be like the afternoon around 2 or 3." She said disregarding everybody else.

"Well damn lil bit you acting like you don't have a brother that love water parks too. Are you gonna invite me? See if you invite me you don't even gotta ride the bus cause I gotta car." He frowned at her pulling her attention towards him.

She snickered, there was a completely valid reason as to why she hadn't invited him this time, because she always did. He was right, he did have a vehicle that would come in handy. The problem was inviting Kyaire meant kyree would have to come, then that meant saint would want to comeโ€”and now another extra addition with Samir. He was sure to tag along with Kyaire, it was like the two were attached at the hip scared to be apart from each other for so long again. No one could tell Kyaire that Samir wasn't his real brother.

"Not this time K3." She waved him off, but of course he wouldn't let it go because now he felt offended and had became accustomed to the idea of always going to the water park with her.

"And why the fuck not."

Kamaria gulped, "whenever you come, you be watching me like a hawk. Niggas be scared to come up with me, and I'm not on that , I deserve to be happy too." She rolled her eyes.

"You don't need a boyfriend you just a baby. You like fourteen." He frowned at her reasoning, that gave him even more reason to want to go. "Stop being fast." He rolled his eyes.

"I'm sixteen andโ€”" her pager started going off making her roll her eyes. The only person who would page her during school hours was her father, and she wasn't in the mood to talk. Not to him at least.

"Who is that, daddy?" Sarai jumped in the conversation.

"Get out my business Sarai." Kamaria muttered silencing it. She hated that, questioning her was the first thing that would get you cursed out. "Anyways, this isn't for you or me to get a boyfriend. This is simply about quality time with my friend. Don't you like quality time with zaydenโ€”or even slim." She extended her arm out to gesture to him.

"Don't put me in shit, ion got nothing to do with it."

Kyaire just stared at his sister with a look of boredom across his face, everything she was saying was going in one ear and out the other, her talking at this point was very pointless.

"I'm coming lil bit."
