It was a loud house.
I couldn't remember the last time I was at the center of so much noise. Sure, EHS was a permanent loud house but at least, things were toned down there. Right here, in Nwankwo's mansion; Kambili's party, the noise just didn't make sense.
Everybody was vibing to the song playing from the speakers courtesy of the baddest DJ in town according to Davina's insinuation. We were drinking, chatting, talking and dancing.
But that was it.
That was just it.
So, what were they all getting hyped up for?
Because hello, if anyone were to ask me what I was enjoying at this party, the answer was nothing. The fake love just grew real and bolder. And it aggravated me, struck on my nerves.
I was in a terrible mood.
But I wasn't feeling it.
โTreasure, you okay?โย
Dara who was seated beside me leaned over my frame to talk to her friend. She had just walked in from nowhere and I hadn't even noticed her. Glancing up at her, my eyes did a quick access of her outfit. My lips tugging up in a small smile, I passed her a small nod which she appreciated.
She looked good.
And that was just an understatement.
โYeah,โ she nodded, checking out her nails. My eyes widened a little as I registered the white artificial long nails she had on. All because of a party?
โI'm justโฆโ she shrugged and I frowned a little. She looked stressed and tired which was strange because this was Treasure. If anything, I would expect her to be the life of the party. Especially with her bubbly personality.ย
โYou are just what?โ Dara was still hovering over my thighs and I looked away from her friend to glare at her a little. She didn't even look concerned by what I did. She just made herself more comfortable by leaning over me even more.
โI'm fine,โ a little smile appeared on Treasure's face when she replied. I wasn't sure she was good but she was smiling full-on now so I couldn't be sure. โDara bear, are you worried about me?โ she teased.
โIn your dreams,โ Dara rolled her eyes at her.
โYo, what will you guys be having? I don't understand why you are here if you won't be drinking anything.โ She rolled her eyes teasingly again before she glared at Zohra and her friends, occupying the other couch closer to ours.ย
A while ago these same couches were occupied by the ballers of our set. I was getting my mumu best friend to stop acting like a bewitched drunk even though she had barely drunk anything when I saw them clear from the space. They appeared to be in a conversation as they walked out. So, we immediately came to occupy the seats before they came back to claim seats they didn't bring from their fathers' houses.
โYou will get drinks for us?โ Inaya, one of Zohra's friends sat up in her seat at Treasure's request. I eyed her when she began to list what she would be having. She didn't even give Treasure a room to respond.
Was she kidding me?ย
โOkay, Inaya. I got you all,โ Treasure wasn't offended by her order. Instead, she turned to us to ask what we would be having. โAnd don't tell me nothing,โ she glared.
โCoke, Trea. Just Coke.โ Dara finally got off me as she leaned back in her seat. She crossed her legs over the other and my eyes dropped to her really long slim legs. She was eating her outfit, for real.
โI got you,โ Trea nodded.
โTrea, guard the drinks with your life, abeg. I know these boys. Look away for a second and they would spike it. So, please.โ Dara was almost on her knees as she spoke.
Davina rolled her eyes and looked away from her phone. She wouldn't stop taking pictures and videos since I got her to settle down instead of vibing with her dancemates. โIt's just weed, Dara. Not cocaine.โ
โWait, there is cocaine?โ
โI don't want it.โ
We spoke together and I stopped to look between the two of them. Davina glared at me silently as if asking me to stop being a killjoy. How was I supposed to keep calm when I just heard that there is a possibility of cocaine being available at the party?
Seriously?
โThat reminds me, guys.โ Zohra cleared her throat loudly, above the music to gather our attention. I turned toward the Hausa girl as I watched her whisk her phone out.
โSo, I watched this girl's get ready with me video that she did on TikTok and I really love this dress. Hold on,โ she stopped as she tapped on her phone's screen to look for the video. When she found it, she passed it to Dara who held it up for us to see.
โOh, I love this girl,โ Davina yelled as soon as the video started playing. I wasn't surprised that she knew her. There was a reason she was made the social prefect.
โThis dress is really nice.โ Dara nodded when the video ended. She played it again and we watched the girl dress up. โBut Zohra, are you sure you can wear something like this?โ she asked as she passed the phone back to her.
โIs there a rule that says I can't wear it?โ Zohra frowned slightly, pursing her lips. She was cute.
โNo, I just think it's a bit revealing. Kind of not your style.โ Dara shrugged slightly as if she was trying to say, girl just do you.ย
Apparently, Zohra didn't catch the hint. Something flickered in her eyes as she looked between Dara and the dress on her phone's screen for a second. I saw the challenge in her eyes before she crossed her legs in the same way Dara did, adjusting her red shirt.
โWatch me style it, Ambrose.โ She said simply.ย
โOhhh,โ Dara hooted, smiling. Davina started laughing while Zohra's friends started to say something I didn't catch.
โSweetie, I love the challenge in your voice. So, when you do style it, take a picture and tag me on it.โ Dara winked at her.
โWho says I wouldn't?โ Zohra shrugged again with a small smile playing on her lips. She did look really cute at that moment.
Before I could bring myself to say anything, Treasure returned with a tray filled with drinks. She hadn't even bothered to stick to our orders from the looks of it. She had just ordered all sorts of drinks she could find, picked a stash of neat red cups, and brought everything for us to serve ourselves.
Dara, who had requested coke, reached for the only wine on the tray and I glared at her. Davina whisked her phone out to take videos and I quickly covered my face with my hands, leaning back in my seat away from her. If that video got out and my mom managed to see it somehow, that would be the end of my life.
I wasn't putting myself at risk like that.
Oh, but coming to the party is not a risk.
My subconscious taunted me and I quickly blocked the voice out. Now was not the time for me to listen to it. Davina picked a filled red cup from the tray and handed it to me. I took a sniff and eyed her suspiciously before I took a sip from it. When she rolled her eyes at me in that typical mocking Davina way, I chugged down the cup in one gulp.
โBetter?โ I grimaced, eyeing her. She stopped to stare at me with wide eyes for a second.
โEwi, you didn't just do that?โ she asked, a bit surprised at what I just did. I wasn't going to lie, I was taken aback a little bit too.
โI guess I did,โ I smiled back. Dara took my empty cup from me and poured me another round. I grimaced, staring at the filled liquid. I wasn't sure what I had just drank but the way my throat was starting to burn was giving me the hint that I just drank alcohol.
โAre you trying to get me drunk?โ I swallowed as I eyed Dara suspiciously. She shrugged, passing me a lazy grin before she leaned back in her seat again to savor her drink.ย
โLean in, girls.โ
My best friend squealed as she took her phone up to take snaps of us. I tried to dodge the camera by covering my face with my palm but Treasure slapped my hands off. I frowned and the camera clicked. Davina threw her head back as she stared at the picture she had just takenโlooking between me and her phoneโwhile the other girls hovered around her to check out the shots too.
โTake a look at yourself,โ she laughed after having her fill, almost shoving her phone into my face. I tried to grab the phone from her grip but she raised her hand higher and because she was standing, it was nearly impossible for me to reach her.
โDelete it now,โ I hissed.
โYo, Vinny, send it to me on WhatsApp,โ Treasure told her, laughing. โIt's going in as my display photo.โ
My eyes widened at what she said while Davina laughed harder, clearly enjoying herself. This party was a disaster and the night had barely begun according to my best friend. It wasn't even ten yet.
โYou wouldn't dare,โ I snapped when she turned her phone screen my way to reveal that she actually sent the picture to Treasure.ย
โDone, baby.โ Treasure raised her phone, a mischievous grin on her face.
โYou are just evil,โ I rolled my eyes at her but a small smile was crawling up my lips. I wasn't even as concerned as I thought I would be over that. I picked up my drink which I had dropped on the table to take a sip from. I still had little to no idea of what it was that I was comfortably drinking.
โGirls, girls,โ one of Zohra's friends shot out of her seat and came to settle down on the table filled with drinks. The way her eyes lit up made me guess that she was about to gossip.
โSo, we were rating the guys' outfits,โ she began, tapping her head twice. She had a very nice scarf wrapped around her hair the same way Zohra had hers.ย
โWho are the we?โ Dara frowned, looking her over.
โMy friends and I,โ she rolled her eyes. โBut that's not the point. Inaya is arguing with me that Royale looks hotter right now than Carlton,โ her eyes narrowed down at us, holding Davina's gaze for a second before her eyes flickered back to the bar area.ย
I followed her gaze and it landed on the two guys leaning over the counter, talking to our bar attendant of the night. Chidozie Carlton, male social prefect of our set.ย The tall fair-skinned guy with a very firm build was laughing at whatever Royale must have said to him. His locked dreads were packed into a man bun atop his head, his ears glinting with the stud earrings he had chosen to wear for the night.
His outfit however was very simple because he was in shorts and a very fascinating shirt that didn't make him look any less than he was supposed to. The guy amongst many other guys at EHS knew how good-looking they were and they flaunted it.
Royale on the other hand, rested his back against the counter in a way that he was directly facing us but wasn't looking at us since he had his whole attention set dead on Dozie. He was donning a very nice pair of ripped jeans I didn't fancy on a normal day but because it was him, and somehow whatever Royale chooses to wear always managed to look good on him, it suited him perfectly.
He had on a white top with a few inscriptions I couldn't pick out in the dimmed light. A necklace was dangling down his neck and his kicks were very nice. Royale had kinky afro hair which he had made into very neat twists that were framing his face. I bet if I ran my fingers through his hair, they would feel good on my fingers.
I started to take my eyes away from him as I gave him one final sweep of his outfit, drinking him once in a final glance when his attention shifted from a talking Dozieโฆand his eyes landed on me.
I sucked in an unexpected breath as our eyes locked briefly.
My pulse raced as I forced myself to look away from him almost immediately. For some reason when I reached for my drink again, my fingers shook. I raised my head to look at the girls surrounding me to check if I noticed anything but they had their attention on Royale and Dozie.
โYeah, I think it's Dozie for me,โ Davina spoke first as I chugged down the liquid in one gulp. My eyes stung and I swallowed repeatedly.
โI said it!โ Nana screamed victoriously as she threw her friend a glare.
โI don't think you people have eyes. Look at those jeans na. See the way Royale is dripping,โ Inaya jumped out of her seat to point at the guys again, discreetly.
And because she was pointing, my eyes drifted to their attention. I regretted it almost immediately because once more, Royale turned and he just happened to stare at me directly. Swallowing down my nerves, a dizzy spell hit me in the face and I almost collapsed back onto the couch.
I tried to breathe properly but it suddenly felt so difficult. Still staring directly at him, my eyes twitching, I watched him take a sip out of his cup. His eyes remained on me when he painstakingly took the cup off his lips and I just sat there staring.
โThose shorts are doing it for me,โ someone whose voice I didn't recognize muttered. The girls were arguing, talking it out but I wasn't listening to them.
Royale looked away from me to glance at Dozie briefly. I took the time to inhale sharply because his eyes were so penetrating even from afar. When he looked back at me, I saw his lips twitch up into a smileโฆSmall, barely noticing.
Good, he was mocking me.
Annoyed, I looked away from him to pick up on the conversation the girls were having. Obviously, some of them had gone with Dozie, and the others Royale. Only Dara and I were yet to say a word.ย
โDara, what do you think?โ Zohra asked as she ran the tip of her lips gloss over lips for the hundredth time that night.ย
Dara perched up in her seat at the call of her name. Her lips parted in a smile and she leaned over me to drop her empty cup on the table. At that point, I couldn't even be upset that she was doing that because my head was suddenly throbbing. I could barely make out her figure properly without having to strain my eyes.
โTo be honest girls,โ she started as she suddenly appeared in three forms before me. โDozie and Ro are very cute. That's not an understatement. But for tonight, neither of them is doing it for me.โ She smiled at the groans that met her.
โSurely, there must be one that you think is beโโ Nana started to say when we all shot her a look. She clamped her mouth shut with a pout and sat back in her seat. โKilljoys,โ she mouthed.
Drenched in sweat, I grabbed the only bottle of water on the table, uncapped it, and took a loud gulp that had them all staring at me. Exhaling at the relief that washed over me a little, I closed the lid of the bottle and returned it to where I picked it from. Then I spoke in a very quiet voice.
โI think Royale is killing the look for me. He is fine,โย
I said the words before it dawned on me. The girls all stopped what they were doing to stare at me, eyes wide and teeth flashing in my direction. Most of them had surprised glints in their eyes like they couldn't believe I had said that.
Good, because that made all of us.
โDamn!โ Dara chuckled after a few seconds went by and they were still staring. I rolled my eyes at their dramatic nature.
โDid you mean what you said?โ Vinny nudged me with her elbow, almost shoving her face into mine. I rolled my eyes again before leaning back onto the couch to wipe off the sweat that had gathered on my forehead with the sleeves of my clothes.
โHe is cute,โ was all I said to her.
โYo, Royale!โ Davina yelled, her voice overshadowing the loud music playing. My eyes widened as she blurted the words I knew she would say. โShalom thinks you are cute,โ
Exaggerated gasps filled the air for a few seconds as my setmates turned in my direction. I sank into my seat, my cheeks burning red at what my best friend had just done. The things that willingly came out of this girl's mouth.ย
I didn't turn to see Royale's reaction even as I heard some of the boys around calling out to me to ask if they were cute too. Letting out a short hiss, I glared at Davina. She gave me a full grin, that mischievous glint beaming in her beautiful eyes.
โOh my God, he's coming!โ Treasure suddenly squealed beside Dara as she stared at me. I frowned, pausing for a second because that didn't sound right.
โJesus, this boy no dey waste time.โ Davina laughed.
Color drained out of my face at their words. I gripped Dara's wrist before I could stop myself and my fingers dug into her skin. She yelped but I ignored her complaints.
โIs he really coming?โ I whispered.
โYup,โ she replied, popping the โPโ at the end of the word to lay emphasis. Before I could say a word or even wish that I disappeared from the scene, Royale was standing in front of me. He wasn't smiling but the amused look in his eyes was very evident.
โWassup, Shalom.โ He leaned his head to the side as he addressed me, making my heart skip a little. I sometimes said hello to him in school, how was I so nervous now?
โHey,โ I tried to play it cool as I inhaled deeply. There shouldn't be a reason why I would be nervous, right? โMy best friend was just playing around.โ I glared at her and she didn't even bother to hide the grin on her face as she stared between us. My head was still spinning, a little.
โBut you did say I am cute,โ he teased, one of his brows tugging up.
Just kill me now.
โSomeone is getting cocky,โ I chuckled but even that sounded like a death wish. โIt's not like you didn't know,โ I rolled my eyes. And because I had nothing to do with my hands while he stood there talking to me like we were long-lost friends, I grabbed the drink Davina was casually sipping and chugged the whole of it down.
That was the third time tonight.
โOsanobua!โย
Someone exclaimed in the room, snapping me out of my moment. I perched up as murmurs filled the air from every corner. I was about to ask what was going on when my gaze drifted to the dance floor. Though the lights were dimmed in a way that would only concentrate on the people on the floor, I could still make out the faces of the people.
My jaw dropped as I watched the girl I absolutely hated with every fiber in me, wine her waist teasingly at her boyfriend. She was doing a whole lot more than dancing in that case.
She was ass-grinding her boyfriend.
My eyes were so wide that they could almost pop out of their sockets. A lot of people were cheering her on, I could make out a few faces from the cheerleading squad. I winced as irritation built up in my throat.ย
โEww, get a room!โ someone booed from the crowd, stealing the words out of my mouth.
She grinned and stopped what she was doing to throw a middle finger in the air. Like she couldn't give two flying fucks what anyone thought.
The atmosphere in the room changed and the song playing switched into something else. One minute, she was on the floor with her boyfriend, the very next she was out of it, and in her place were a group of peopleโladiesโ standing in an organized way.
The lights went off for a moment and a loud shrilling sound filled the room from the DJ.
โRemember what I told you, Dara?โ Vinny spoke and I felt her staring at Dara. She didn't sound exactly happy or excited as a lot of people were at the moment. Davina sounded indifferent like she couldn't care less.
โI didn't doubt it,โ Dara snorted back.
The light came on again but it was not on us, it was directly on the people moving their bodies on the dance floor. As soon as the song started playing, I recognized it. It was an old song, a very old song by Sean Paul. Shake That Thing Miss by Sean Paul started playing and the girls on the floor started moving.
My setmates were screaming and yelling to encourage them but I wasn't feeling it. I knew they had done something to the song because it didn't sound like the original version but it didn't make their performance better. They weren't outrightly bad, they just weren't it just as I'd expected. They were cheerleaders, not dancers.
Even when Kambili got on stage in an outfit that revealed more than it should cover, earning loud hoots and catcalls from the guys, I was disgusted.
I felt Davina getting off the couch and I knew she was going to do something that would earn her a spot in Kambili's black books. So, I caught her wrist before she could slip off.
โWhere are you going?โ I asked. I could make out her face in the darkness but couldn't quite see her.ย
โWant to show these losers how it's done.โ She sounded as irritated as I felt with their performance.
โDon't turn it into a competition. Let them be, I don't want you to do anything.โ I pleaded.
โYeah, Vina. Just let Kambili have it. It's a mockery of who we are, I get that but let her be. It's her party.โ Treasure, ever fearful chipped in. It took a moment but Davina nodded and I let her hand go.
The song ended and they finished dancing, earning a round of applause from the impressed people. And from the looks of it, a lot of people were impressed. Dara started to get up from the couch to walk away and that was when it hit me that the conversation I'd been meaning to have with her all night, I hadn't spoken to her about it.
She was already walking out when I shot out of my seat to hurry after her. But before I could take a move in her direction, someone grabbed my hand swiftly and pulled me out of the way. My lips pressed into a nervous thin line as I stared at him.
โWe are not finished with our conversation,โ he said when I lifted one of my brows at him.
"I'm not sure if there was ever a conversation to begin with," I told him, my lips curling into a small smile.
โTouchรฉ,โ he said, a grin spreading across his face as he gazed at me. โBut that's the point, isn't it, Shalom? Are we going to get to talk about how you think I'm cute?โ he asked, his voice dropping to a husky whisper.
"I suppose I'll make my decision when I see you at club meetings," I teased, watching as his lips dipped into that graceful smile.ย
"Is that a promise?" he asked, raising an eyebrow suggestively.
I couldn't help but laugh.
I gave him one last look before I turned to leave. He had recently joined the student council, without any convincing from me. He had done it of his own free will, and that thought brought a smile to my lips.
โShalom,โ I hadn't taken more than three steps when his voice stopped me. I took a deep breath and turned to look at him.
โYou look stunning,โ he winked.
His words made my breath catch in my throat. I hadn't expected him to say something like that, and it caught me off-guard.ย
My cheeks flushed with heat as his words played in my mind. I hadn't done too much for tonight's look. Davina had made me wear a pair of purple cargo pants over a black and purple long-sleeved top with matching white kicks. I hadn't even taken note of how I looked yet here he was complimenting me. I knew that if I didn't turn around and walk away right then, I'd be as red as a tomato.
So, I just nodded in his direction and when I turned around this time, it was intending to hightail it out of there to find Dara and persuade her into joining the council since I was very sure that she didn't belong to any club yet.ย
But that didn't happen when I rounded the corner to take the steps I had seen Dara take because right in front of me, stopping in her tracks was my ex-best friend.
That was it. It was time to settle old scores, Dara would have to wait.

ย Attending Kambili Nwankwo's party had never been my intention. I didn't want to give her the room to act stupid once more but somewhere along the way, I must have missed the fact that her stupidity was engraved in her. I wasn't amused, not in the least.
She had beat me to it.
I should have known that she had something planned. I should have realized sooner that she was up to no good. Always up to no good. I wasn't sure if anyone else rememberedโclearly, they didn't since no one was talking about itโbut the song choice for her display of stupidity had still slapped me in the face. She had stood there dancing, her minions hovering around her while she mocked me.
She threw my relationship with him in my face. She chose to play the exact song that would have meant nothing to me if that hadn't been for the circumstances that brought me and that waste of sperm together. I was fuming as I climbed up the stairs to find her since I had seen her disappear up the stairs after her mock show.
After I finished dealing with her ass, I was going to retire for the night. Or not. I stopped to take a deep breath as I came to the landing. I needed to calm down, that girl didn't get to get a rise out of me, no matter what. She didn't get to see me suffer the way I was, it wasn't in her place.
Still trying to breathe properly, I stood there. This particular part of the house was quiet but it didn't mean that it was deserted. A few of my setmates had been up and running since we arrived. The party shouldn't have started early and although I knew that a lot of fun activities were going on in other places around the house, I wasn't interested in checking them out.ย
I turned to continue my journey down the hall when my eyes caught a huge-looking man making his way from the east wing of the house. He stopped when caught me staring and my gaze traveled through the length of him. He was dressed in casuals but from his frame, I knew who he was.
Daddy's boy couldn't even come to a party without his guards following him around like he was some sort of celebrity. Or even better, a president's son.ย
Letting out a short hiss in the man's direction, I snorted before continuing my journey to find Kambili. She must have been to one of the rooms down the hall. Maybe even her room. I wasn't sure which room was hers because it'd been a very long while since I'd been there but things might have changed.ย
I was about to stop at the first door I sighted to check when one of the doors was thrown open and someone stepped out. I jerked back as my eyes landed on the girl in ginger braids, walking comfortably out of the room. The door opened wider andโmy brows furrowed as my eyes slanted on herโMimi walked out of the room.
โYou are going to listen to me!โ Mimi screamed, her braids flying.
โBili, I'm talking to you, asshole!โ
She was screaming as she hurried after Kambili. Kambili stopped when she saw me standing there and for a few seconds, something flickered in her orbs that I didn't pick. Her nostrils flared with anger, she took one long look at me before she whirled around to meet a raging Mimi.
I couldn't see Mimi's face since she was blocking my view but I knew Mimi was burning with rage which made me wonder what was going on. I couldn't hear what Kambili was saying either as her voice was very low. She seemed to do that a lot.ย
My legs started to move while she was still talking and it wasn't until I got nearer that I caught wind of what she was saying.
โ...I'm so going to tell her. So, if you know what's good for you, keep your mouth shut and behave yourself, Couz. You don't want to step on the cobra's tail.โ She was saying when I neared them.
Mimi's eyes drifted off in my direction and her eyes widened for a second. Biting hard on her lower lip, her hand shook. I saw the helpless look in her eyes before I stepped in front of her. I didn't even want to know what was going on if she was feeling that way.
โAmbrose,โ the bitch smiled, her smile condescending as her eyes stared at me like I was nothing after I raised a brow at her.
I wanted to say something to her. Something that would steal that smile off her face, wipe it off completely till she had no reason to smile ever again. I wanted to wipe that smug look that glinted in her eyes as she stared at us. I wanted to wipe her face clean on the floor while she screamed for help.
I wanted to do all that.
Yet, I allowed her to turn around, the tail of her long red braids slapping me in the face as she moved. I didn't blink as I watched her get to the stairs. And like she knew that I was still standing there watching her, she flipped me the bird before she continued down the stairs.
Immediately she was gone, I turned toward Mimi to demand what was going on. But the look in her eyes stopped me. The fear in her eyes stopped me.
โAre you okay? Do I need to kill the bitch? She hasn't gone far.โ I rapped out at once as I stared at her. She pressed her shaking hands to her side and took in a deep breath.
โShe said something that completely caught me off guard. But don't worry, I'm fine.โ She raised her head and met my eyes for the first time that moment. It occurred to me that I hadn't seen her since we arrived at the party almost two hours ago.
โDo you want us to go to your room and talk about it?โ I inclined my head toward her room. The door was still open but I couldn't see anything from where I stood.
She veered back like I had hit her with a whip. My eyes narrowed on her again when her fingers shook slightly. She was staring at me but she wasn't really staring at me. Whatever Kambili had said or done to her was a really big deal. She didn't always react like this.
โNo,โ she shook her head almost immediately. โI want to be alone.โ She concluded.
She didn't even wait for me to reply before she turned around and walked into her room. She slammed the door while I stood there stunned, staring. The way her eyes were red and slightly puffy told me that whatever it was that was bothering her was a really big deal. She hadn't been like that when we arrived earlier; she had been excited.
But with people like Kambili around her, her happiness was bound to be short-lived.
Just like that, my chest rose in anger at the bitch. My fist clenched and I was going to turn around and give her that beating of her life when my phone chimed in my purse. I took it out of the small clutch purse that I'd almost forgotten that I was holding to see who had texted me.
Trea baby๐โค๏ธโจ
Babe, I can't stay at the party anymore. I'm going home, I don't feel so good. I'm going to take my car since you are going to stay at Mimi's. If you change your mind, text me back. I love you.
09: 15 PM.
Well, clearly I wasn't the only one having a terrible night. We all were. I shot her back a quick text to ask if she wanted me to drive her home but she replied almost immediately that she was fine. Drawing out a deep sigh, I shoved my phone back into my purse as I stared at Mimi's door. It was completely quiet so at least she wasn't crying.
It didn't seem fair. We had dressed up to come to this party to have fun and not to end up like this. One of us at least had to have fun tonight. Mimi clearly wouldn't be okay anytime soon and Trasure was on her way home. If anyone was going to have fun, then it should be me.
I was going to have the fun for all three of us.
A smile was spotted on my face as a thought occurred to me. Without giving it a second thought, I turned around to leave the place. I wanted to have fun and I knew exactly how to. I only had to do one thing first.
I needed to find my collaboratorโmy target for the night.

If at this point, you still don't know who Ewi's ex-best friend is, I don't know what to say o.
