OPHELIA WAS DRIVING THE route to the place Elena was being held captive at. If any of her friends found out where she was, they would definitely scold her for the thought of having heroic actions, especially since she didn't have powers.
Her phone started to get bombarded with phone calls and texts from the Salvatore brothers, but she ignored them, keeping her eyes focused on the road.
After many annoying calls and texts that Ophelia had to tolerate during the drive, she reached an old abandoned house that seemed to locate the place Elena was being held captive at.
Getting out of her car stealthily, Ophelia managed to sneak all the way to the house's back entrance without getting noticed. One of her special talents was being quiet, odd, considering that she is a human and would get noticed easily.
When Ophelia walked into the house, she immediately saw Elena sitting on a ratted-up sofa, playing with a paper in her hands.
Elena lifted her head up to see Ophelia putting a finger to her lips, telling her to be quiet.
As Ophelia was trying to get to Elena, she heard two people bickering about a man who wants her best friend.
"He wants her more!"
" I can't do this. You give her to him, he'll have mercy on you but I need to get out of here."
"Hey what are we?" Ophelia scrunched her eyebrows, slightly intrigued by the conversation.
"We're family."
A small tug crept up on Ophelia's lips at the thought of these people having care for one another.
Suddenly, a harsh knock started to echo through the house, making Ophelia jump slightly. The door slowly crept open, revealing a man with a suit and a red tie, just like the man Ophelia saw in her visions.
"Rose-Marie. Is there somewhere where we can talk?" The man had a soft yet intimidating voice.
"Yes, in here, you have to forgive the house."
"Oh, no, what's a little dirt? I completely understand." Ophelia's heart eased slightly, surprised at how calm this man was.
After the air was filled with conversation, Ophelia took this as a chance to try and rescue Elena, but that was cut short after she heard the man talk about wanting to meet Elena.
"You have my word that I will pardon you."
"Follow me." The sounds of footsteps started to come closer which made Ophelia go back into hiding in the corner.
Ophelia saw the man stare intently at Elena before he vamp sped in front of her, sniffing her neck, inhaling her human scent.
"Human. It's impossible." The man studied Elena, wondering how it was possible that another Petrova doppelganger was alive. "Hello there."
The man who walked around in a suit went up to the man who was named 'Trevor'.
"I beg for your forgiveness, Elijah."
"So granted." A sound of a head being severed from a body made Ophelia gasp slightly. She covered her mouth, hoping she wasn't loud enough for the vampires to hear.
Elijah told Elena to come with him, but she tried to stall as much as she could by talking about the moonstone, which seemed to work since he started to ask questions about it.
Ophelia tried to get a better hearing, so she stepped forward slightly, but this, unfortunately, made her step on a shattered piece of glass which caught the attention of everyone.
"What was that?"
"I don't know?"
"Who else is in this house?"
Ophelia silently cursed to herself as she tried to be quiet as to not get noticed.
Sighing in relief a little too early, Ophelia felt arms crush her collarbone slightly as she tried to pry away from the strong vampire's hands.
"Who are you and what do you want?" Ophelia tried to muster up words to talk, but the fear overwhelmed her.
"Answer me," Elijah pushed her back into the wall once more, the shadows still covering Ophelia's face.
"I'm here to save my friend." Elijah laughed at her.
"How could a human possibly be brave enough to rescue her friend from vampires?"
Ophelia was starting to become angry with Elijah. She completely disregarded the fact that he was a vampire and started to raise her voice at him.
"Listen to me, mister. I don't care who you are, but you best know that I will do anything to save my friends, even if it means getting killed by you." Ophelia stepped out of the shadows, finally revealing her face.
Ophelia swore that after Elijah saw her face, his expression turned from angry and murderous to shock and sadness.
"O-Ophelia?"
"What? How do you know my name?" It was now Ophelia's turn to be shocked.
"Ophelia, I'm-" Before Elijah could finish, the sounds of vampires running around the house, interrupted their talk.
Before Ophelia could ask any more questions, she felt hands grab her as they sped over to a corner. It was Damon and he put his hand over her mouth to keep her quiet, while Stefan had Elena.
"Excuse me, to whoever it may concern, you're making a great mistake if you think you can beat me. Do you hear that? So I want Ophelia and Elena on the count of three, or else heads will roll," Elijah said.
Ophelia stared at Damon as he looked back into her eyes, both of them confused as to why Elijah would want her.
"I'll come with you. Just please don't hurt my friends. They just wanted to help me."
"Where is Ophelia? I need her to come too."
Ophelia popped out of the corner, completely ignoring Damon who was trying to pull her back.
"Take me. Don't take Elena." Before Elijah could respond, Damon pulled her away again, earning a growl from the Original who seemed to be somewhat protective.
Right as Elijah was going to pry out Ophelia from Damon's hands, Elena threw a vervain grenade at him, making him cry out in agony.
Ophelia's friends took this as an advantage to let the two humans get out safely as Damon shoved the wooden coat hanger in Elijah's chest, making him turn grey.
Once they saw that Elijah was dead, Damon took this as an opportunity to make sure Ophelia was okay.
"Are you okay?" He inspected her body, making sure there weren't any serious injuries.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine." Damon hugged her and Ophelia immediately hugged back. "Come on, let's go."
The group started to walk out of the home, happy that none of them were seriously injured.
Ophelia was happy that she was saved, but she couldn't help but feel that Elijah wanted her for something more. The creepy fascination that Elijah had for her, slightly scared Ophelia, but there was a feeling that this wasn't the end.
It's just the beginning.
