BEACON HILLS WAS A PLACE Finn wouldn't have thought he'd see himself living in, in retrospect, it's not like a small part of the south as it was in California.
But it had all the classics, a small vet clinic, a public pool, and of course a sheriff station. He'd check everything out later, right now he had to go to school, and school was, well, school.
Or prison as most teens would describe. Finn kind of had a hand on his schedule and everyone was nice. He'd talked with Liam a couple of times, he was cool.
He never was the greatest at making friends, so Eddie became his best friend. Eddie was the type of older brother with the; 'No one's allowed to mess with him except me' kind of attitude.
As Finn entered high school the man toned down his teasing, he knew Finn was sarcastic, hardly ever serious. But had his fair share of moments being awkward and shy.
Spending his days photographing something or reading a book to pass time. Eddie pointed out how similar he was to their father.
Finn stood in the hallway sifting through his locker, trying to find his book, he made a look of aha and mumbled a "gotcha" before taking it out and walking away.
If he had to be honest, he didn't know his way around the school enough to know where the damn library was. He was lost, it was pretty pathetic, but then he saw two other teens.
One was talking eccentrically with his hands while the other one listened intently. They looked a couple years older than him, and probably knew where the library was.
Except, he didn't know them, and didn't want to bother them. The teen stood in the middle of the hallway, not knowing what to do or where to go.
He heard the sound of steps coming towards him and a voice spoke up. "Hey, are you new here?" One of the teens asked, while the brunet just stuck to his side.
Finn answered hesitantly, "Yeah, do you guys know where the library is?"
He offered, "We can take you to it, I'm Scott by the way. This is Stiles."
"Nice to meet you, I'm Finn." Finn watched as Scott and Stiles continued talking, following close behind them, Stiles seemed annoyed.
Apparently Scott hadn't seen any of the Star Wars films. In all of their years of being best friends, he felt so betrayed, of course in dramatic fashion.
Finn's mouth went agape, "You haven't seen Star Wars! Who even are you?!" He asked incredulously.
Stiles threw his hands up and exclaimed, "Thank you! See this kid knows. We've only known him for two minutes and I'm already considering him as my new best friend." Finn laughed.
Stiles seemed like the type for dramatics while Scott was mellowed out, like yin and yang. They reached the library and Finn walked inside,
Not before thanking them and heading to a little corner. Escaping from the chaos that was high school was nice, and while reading, he multitasked doing his assignments on top of that.
He was dying to read this book, it was the cautionary, and tragic tale of Anne Frank in a copy of her diary.
He always liked reading books of real life people, and he was fascinated with her story. He had a fascination with history, knowing every fact about a historical event, it didn't matter which one.
It looked great on test scores and any applications. Continuing reading and hearing a voice greet him, he glanced up and saw Liam.
He smiled at him and said hi back, the other boy joining him on the floor. "What are you reading?" He asked, Finn turned the book over and showed him the cover.
Liam recounted, "I remember doing a report on her back in middle school. I can't imagine how terrifying it must've been for her and her family."
"Yeah, I got this book just before I moved here with my brother. Until now, I hadn't had the chance to read it." Finn replied.
Liam grunted in frustration, while the other teen was confused, "Mr. Kellen's homework is hard. Does that old man really want to bore me to death?"
"I could help, if you'd like?" Finn suggested.
He shifted his position, facing Liam who looked at him, tilting his head. "You sure? Isn't your brother going to pick you up soon?"
"All the more reason to compare notes. Now what are you having trouble with?"
Liam dropped his pencil, "Alright Mr. Connor." He joked. Finn shook his head, and the two began comparing notes together.
It was nice having a friend, being the new kid in a new town and school was intimidating. So the fact that Liam was so friendly was something foreign to Finn.
He was dealt a rough hand of cards at his old school, kids were ruthless. They picked apart everything, what clothes he was wearing, what his hair looked like, absolutely everything.
He didn't even tell Eddie the bullying had been going on until he found his brother bloodied and bruised waiting in the nurse's office, tears streaming down his face.
Forcing his mind to halt the bad memories, while Liam gasped, veering off the topic at hand and saying, "You're allowed to be home alone?"
Finn laughed, "Are you not trusted to be home alone?"
"No comment, but if it's okay, we could hang out sometime. Outside of school?" Liam suggested.
"Yeah, I'd like that." Finn smiled, he really liked Liam. He continued to help Liam compare notes, soon an hour turned into two.
Both boys had loads of fun, they talked and laughed for hours. "You, Finnley, are a lifesaver!" Liam exclaimed.
Finn chuckled, while gathering his notes, "It's not a big deal, just helping a friend."
Liam pointed at Finn, "Well, you are now officially my new best friend. When you meet Mason, don't tell him I said that. He'll kill me."
Finn smirked, "We definitely wouldn't want that." Soon three o'clock rolled around, and the final bell rang out.
Liam and Finn walked out the library to the front of the school. Finn found it easy to converse with Liam, he didn't know why.
It just was, they continued talking, even exchanging numbers when Finn saw Eddie's car, Liam rubbed the back of his neck, "Thanks for helping me, I owe you one. I had fun hanging out."
"No problem, I had fun too. I'll see you tomorrow, and we're still on for video games at your place right?" Liam confirmed, walking away, strolling down the sidewalk.
Finn got into the car to see Eddie showing off a teasing smile, "Who was that?" He asked, waiting for his little brother to buckle up.
He drove through the parking lot and headed on the main road. Finn looked back at him and said, "He's a friend, his name is Liam."
Eddie made a noise of interest, "Thought you said you couldn't make friends?"
Finn rolled his eyes in playful annoyance, "He talked to me first."
"Alright, besides Liam, did you have a good day?"
Finn smiled at the fact he made a friend, "Yeah, it was fine. I met a couple of juniors and they were nice. They helped me find the library."
Eddie tapped his fingers along the steering wheel, "Nice, what do you think about having a movie night?"
Finn glanced at him, "But it's a school night, and I've got homework."
"Would you want to do it Friday? I'll be off from volunteering at the hospital by like five. We can order pizza and pick out some films. That sound good to you?"
Finn smirked, "Yeah, sounds good, as long as I get to pick two films and you pick two as well."
"Deal. But they can't be anything we haven't seen a million times." Finn agreed to that and they continued the drive home, once Finn was settled in.
Eddie grabbed a few things and ran out the door to work. Finn liked being home alone, it was quiet and he was free to do whatever he wanted, as long as it didn't put him in immediate danger.
Eddie would resurrect him and then kill him again for doing something stupid and dying because of it. An hour after finishing his homework it was around six o'clock.
And he was heating up leftovers for dinner. His phone buzzed, picking it up he saw that his new friend Liam was calling, he picked it up and answered.

The pack arrived back in Beacon Hills, having driven a long way from Mexico. After dropping off Kira and Malia.
Scott, Stiles, and Lydia take an unconscious Derek to the animal clinic where Dr. Deaton was waiting.
Deaton cleared the examination table and took a look at Derek. All he could say was, "Wow." It didn't sound promising.
Lydia took Derek's hand and said that was ice cold, that didn't seem normal in werewolf standards.
The man started a proper examination on Derek but says he has no clue what's going on or whether it's permanent. He told them they should wait until Derek wakes up.
Until then, Derek can stay at the animal clinic where he would be protected from Kate by the ash wood surrounding the building.
Lydia bit her lip, "Why would she want to do this to him?"
Deaton sighed, "Knowing Kate, it's probably for a reason that won't be any good for anyone but her."
"And bad for everyone else." Stiles chimed in, Since Derek doesn't look to be in any immediate danger and it's a school night, Deaton tells them to go home.
Lydia offered to stay and keep watch over Derek; her grades are fine despite missing a few classes. Stiles isn't happy with the situation but Scott, shaking his head, drug him out of the clinic.Β
Scott snuck into his house. Buckets and pots littering the floor and counters to catch drips from the leaking roof.
He made the mistake of tripping over a toolbox, waking up his dad, who was sleeping on the living room couch. Scott told his dad that it's midnight, hiding a clock that clearly reads four am.
Apparently there was a new deal between Scott and his dad; whenever Melissa had a night shift, the two of them would have dinner.
Scott told him he went to work at the animal clinic after getting back from his camping trip. So they decide to make plans for dinner the next night instead.
Later the next morning, Lydia woke up in a chair at the animal clinic. Deaton was examining Derek again and says that his heart rate is alarmingly high.
Lydia gets up to take Derek's hand, replying that he's warmer now. Deaton then told her to keep holding his hand while he used a scalpel to cut along Derek's arm.
The incision heals almost instantly, which is unusually fast for a werewolf, that never happened with Scott.
Deaton wasn't sure what it meant but he wanted to run some more tests. As he and Lydia start setting up, behind them, Derek pulled out his claws and sat up.
His eyes glowed a deep blue and the two are both confused and yet scared. They try to calm him down, but Derek freaked out and lashed out, raking his claws across Deaton's arm. He bolts out of the clinic.

Before school, Stiles told Scott about his new... more or less than ideal sleeping arrangements.
Five nights a week, Stiles would wake up at two in the morning, to find that Malia had crept into his bed. "And then what happens?" Scott asked.
"This." He lifted up the back of his shirt to show Scott a big number of scars.
Scott winced, he felt Stiles pain just by looking at them, Malia definitely did a number on him.
"After that we spent the rest of the night spooning." Stiles said.
Scott was confused, what was the problem then? "Well, that sounds okay."
"Yeah, but I'm always the little spoon. Always." Stiles complained.
"Well, this means you guys are together, right? You're dating?" Stiles doesn't answer the question. He said he thinks Malia knows that Stiles is keeping something from her which he is.
They haven't told her that Peter was her biological father. Scott said that he'll tell her but he didn't know how.
The two walk off to class. In History, Mr. Yukimura is talking about some of America's greatest leaders. "One you'll recognise from last night's reading failed in business, had a nervous breakdown, was defeated for both houses of congress."
"And lost as Vice President before he was finally elected as one of the greatest presidents that this country has ever seen. Who was he?" He asked, looking through the crowd of students.
A few people raise their hands, including Stiles and Kira. But Mr. Yukimura instead calls on Malia, who in kinder terms, wasn't paying attention.
Everyone turned to her, she looked at Scott and Stiles with panic. She has no idea what the answer is, probably because the last time she was in school was nearly a decade ago.
Scott's phone started ringing and Mr. Yukimura told him to turn it off. Stiles tried to mouth the answer to Malia.
Mr. Yukimura attempted to give her a few more hints. It was to no avail, Malia starts leafing through her textbook. Kira waved her hand more frantically in the air.
Then Stiles's phone went off next and Mr. Yukimura scolded everyone to turn their phones off. Malia, still looking through her textbook and Mr. Yukimura gave up on her, asking if anyone else knew the answer.
Everyone in the class, save Scott and Stiles, put their hands up. Malia shrunk down in her seat in embarrassment and another phone went off, making the man yell in annoyance.
"Dad, that was yours." Kira said, meekly. He checked the message on his phone and told Scott to call Lydia.
At the animal clinic, Lydia was bandaging Deaton's arm as they filled Scott and Stiles in. Deaton thinks Derek isn't just younger in his body; he's younger in his mind too.
He didn't recognize Lydia or Deaton, he looked scared out of his mind. But Scott explained that a wolf goes back to its den when it's scared.
Except, Derek lived in the loft now. Stiles pointed out that, as a teenager, Derek wouldn't have any memory of the loft.
"The Hale house." Lydia replied that's where they needed to go.
Deaton nodded his head, "He wouldn't remember the fire. It wouldn't have happened yet."
"When we find him, we tell him the truth." Scott stated.
"If he gets to the house first, you won't have to." The doctor said, Lydia counteracted that by telling Derek his whole family is deadΒ would not go well.
Stiles agreed, they should wait until they figured out how to get him back to regular sourwolf Derek.
Scott said they can't lie to Derek; as a werewolf, Derek can hear a heartbeat rising and can tell when someone's lying.
The gang went to the house to find that Derek was nowhere to be seen, they climbed back into Stiles's jeep, ready to drive all across town to find him.
When Stiles got a call from his dad, Sheriff Stilinski informed him of a teenage boy who's record showed him as being Derek.
He ushered for the boys to get to the station, and soon Scott and Stiles bursted into the station and the Sheriff took them into his office.
The older man pinched the bridge of his nose. "I want you to be honest with me. Absolutely and completely honest. Have you been time traveling?"
"Hang on. What?" His son questioned.
Noah continued, "Because if time travelling is real, you know what? I'm done. I'm out. You're going to be driving me to Eichen House!"
"We found him like that." Scott said.
"Where?! Swimming in the Fountain of Youth?!" Noah exclaimed.
"No. We found him buried in a tomb of wolfsbane in an Aztec temple in the middle of Mexico, underneath a church in the middle of a town that was destroyed by an earthquake."
The room went silent, if someone who had no knowledge of the supernatural heard all of that. They'd call you insane. Scott sighed, the beans were spilled.
Noah crossed his arms, "You told me you were camping."
"Yeah, we were. It was in Mexico." Stiles responded.
Of course Noah was enraged, while Scott quickly brought the conversation back to the current supernatural problem and said they needed to talk to Derek.
Derek was brought into the sheriff's office while Noah stood outside. Stiles sat on the desk and looked through his dad's mail.
He picked up a letter with an all too familiar name, it was from Eichen House marked as a second notice.
Scott explained to Derek that he could trust him and Stiles, even showing him his red eyes but the teen was still apprehensive, after all, he didn't know them.
Stiles told him that he needed to stop attacking people, especially cops. Derek assured them that he'd be fine as long as it wasn't a full moon. But he wanted to know where his family was.
Scott couldn't tell the truth when Derek looked up at him, his eyes showing uncertainty. Instead, he lied.
They're fine and they just had to leave Beacon Hills; he can be reunited with them once they figured out how to restore his memory.
Derek finally agreed. And while Derek was signing papers for his release, Scott chatted to Stiles about the fact that he lied.
"You saved him a ton of unnecessary pain. We figure this out in a day or two."
"He goes back to being old Derek, everyone's happy. Except for Derek, who's never happy."
Stiles tells his friend. Scott reluctantly agreed and told Stiles to take Derek to his house. Scott was going to go talk to the person they should've gone to before, Peter Hale.
ββββββββββββββββββ
In the meantime Scott arrived at Peter's place and found Malia waiting for him. "I heard you were coming to talk to Peter and, since Lydia tells me he's basically Satan in a V-neck, I figure you shouldn't be alone." Malia told him.
"I can handle Peter." Scott replied.
"You can handle him better with me." Stiles was instructed to keep Derek at Scott's house. He lets himself and Derek into Casa McCall.
Saying that they're going to sit there and wait for Scott quietly. But waiting in the kitchen was none other than Mr. McCall who had arrived minutes before with dinner for himself and Scott.
Since everyone was waiting for Scott, Mr. McCall offered them some of the extra food. Stiles on the other hand introduced Derek as his cousin Miguel from Mexico.
Mr. McCall says something in Spanish and Derek responds fluently. Poor Stiles, who can barely control Derek in one language, thought he was about to have a heart attack but reluctantly joined them for dinner.
ββββββββββββββββββ
Scott and Malia walked into Peter's place. Malia noticed that Scott's heart was pounding like crazy. Peter, who was sitting on a couch and reading, said Scott is bad at introductions.
Scott introduced Peter to Malia. Hearing stories about the awful things he's done.
Malia was quite weary about getting involved with him. Peter dropped his book and stared at her in fascination.
"Beautiful eyes. Did you get them from your father?" He asked.
Malia crossed her arms, anything but interested in small talk. "Mother."
"Interesting. Anyway, I'm sure they told you a lot about me."
"The homicidal killing spree came up." She pointed out.
Peter shrugged his shoulders, "Well, we're all works in progress."
Malia suggested Peter make sure that the victims of his next killing spree stay dead. Scott asks Peter what he knows about being turned by a scratch.
Thinking that Scott scratched someone, Peter tells him not to worry about it. It's possible but the claws have to go pretty deep and it's incredibly rare.
As he's talking, Peter finally seemed to realize what they're suggesting.
ββββββββββββββββββ
Mr. McCall, Stiles, and Derek dig into and eat the Chinese food scattered around the table. When, of course they should've come up with a backstory, Mr. McCall asks about Derek's last name.
Stiles interrupted, "It's Juarez-Cinqua-Diago."
"That's a mouthful. How do you spell that?" Of course Stiles should've known, the man was an FBI agent. If he didn't despise him so much, he'd be more talkative.
"Phonetically." Stiles answered, trying his best not to look the older man in the eye. Derek peered over, noticing Mr. McCall's badge.
He asked him if he's ever investigated murders or fires. Stiles tried to interject but he goes ignored. Derek asked if he knew anything about the Hale family.
Rafe, unfortunately, gives him the truth, filled in on the Hale fire, Derek gets up from the table where Stiles followed.
But was surprised attacked the younger teen slammed him against a wall demanding to speak to Scott. Stiles replied saying that he'll call him and Derek had to stay put in Scott's room.
But back at Peter's place, he's been filled in on everything and he was not happy about it. "Can't someone in this town stay dead?"
Scott ignored that and got straight to the point, asking if Peter knows why Kate would turn Derek into a teenager.
When Scott told him that Derek's eyes were blue, his tone shifted, Peter thinks that he might have been aged back to when he first met Kate. Scott was surprised, "Derek and Kate knew each other?"
Peter nodded his head, "Biblically. That's right, Scott. You weren't the first wolf to climb into a Hunter's bed."
"I think they were hoping you would." Peter puzzled through the facts. If Derek doesn't remember the Hale fire, then he doesn't remember that Kate was the one who set it.
Kate took him back to the age when Derek still knew and trusted her. Unbeknownst to Stiles, Kate showed up at the McCall house.
Derek immediately recognized her and Kate sidled up to him. Stiles walked back upstairs, on the phone to Scott.
He assured him that Derek's fine. He was wrong, once he got to Scott's bedroom and saw Kate jumping out the window. Peter and Malia are immediately ready to run off and save Derek.
All they need is a scent to track him down. But Scott says that if they want to get ahead of her, they need to work out where she's going. Since none of them is a genius.
Scott suggests calling one. Lydia was still hanging out in the petrol station bathroom with Kira and the body. She called Sheriff Stilinski and the police were on their way.
In the meantime, she takes pictures of the crime scene and texted them to Scott. "To be honest, I have a 4.0 in AP Biology and there are parts of the human anatomy I have never seen before on these walls."
Seeing the photos, Peter didn't think the murder was an accident; it was done in a frenzy, like Kate couldn't control her shift. Scott confirmed that Derek has the same problem on the full moon.
If they're both still learning to control the shift then Kate must want something from Derek. Peter guessed that Kate wants the triskelion.
But one question remained, what the hell is a triskelion?
ββββββββββββββββββ
Kate and Derek walked through Beacon Hills High at night. Derek was suddenly worried about showing the vault to someone outside his family.
Kate said that he told her about the vault and he doesn't remember. Scott, Malia, and Peter run through the high school when Malia suddenly catches a familiar scent.
It's the one she smelled when they were in Mexico; the smell of death. If the creature didn't follow them here then maybe Kate brought them with her.
There's an eerily growling and Peter recognized it. He asked if the thing from Mexico was a human wearing an animal skull over its face. Malia thought it was.
"Berserkers." A berserker walked toward them. Malia started to run forward and attack it. When Peter grabbed her arm.
If there's only one berserker then they have a chance to survive. Scott and Malia wisely run away as well and the berserker gives chase.
Scott and Malia run for their lives. Another berserker appeared and sent them running up a flight of stairs. Peter was nowhere to be seen.
One of the berserkers appears at the top of the stairs, blocking their escape. Kate took the triskelion from Derek, commenting that it doesn't look like much.
Peter entered the vault ominously. "It's quite the elaborate scheme you have here, Kate. Two countries, Aztec temples, Derek returned to a teenager. One that trusted you, one that loved you."
"All this complication just to gain access to our vault. Just to get your hands on that little piece of junk."
"Turn it over, go ahead. There's a scrape on the back where it used to say, 'Made in China'."
"You're lying." Peter wasn't lying; the pendant was just something physical for young wolves to concentrate on while they controlled their change.
Peter's monologue was interrupted by the sound of Scott's Alpha roar. Scott was maneuvering around them but he and Malia were still getting their butts handed to them.
In the vault, Kate grabs Derek and demands to know whether the triskelion is real. Derek doesn't care whether it's real; he wants to go help Scott.
He shrugged her off and ran out of the vault. Lydia and Stiles arrive at the school. Stiles was armed with his trusty baseball bat.
"You seriously need to find something better than a baseball bat." Lydia retorted.
Malia backed away from the berserkers, nursing a wound on her leg. Scott is thrown towards her. Kira ran up, katana in hand and started making the berserkers back off.
But a berserker backhanded her and she landed next to Scott, who was bleeding from his nose and mouth. Peter continued his monologue with Kate in the dungeon.
When the triskelion wasn't helping Derek with his shift, Peter taught him to concentrate on his emotion instead. That's why Derek's anchor was rage; it's what keeps him in control.
"So you want to learn to control it? You want to get angry, Kate? Let's get angry!" They both whipped out their claws, teeth, and glowing eyes.
They're rudely interrupted when two smoke bombs get dropped into the vault, blinding both of them. Kate managed to run out but Peter could hardly move.
Derek runs up to the berserkers and starts fighting against them. Eventually the berserkers run off, Down in the vault, Peter is on the ground and half blind.
Someone in a suit walked past him and opened up the safe in the middle of the vault and took out a briefcase. Then the person walked away, ignoring Peter's pleas to wait.
Peter crawls towards the safe and finds it empty. Lydia and Stiles find Peter in the vault, muttering that it was never about the triskelion. They took bearer bonds from Peter while he was blind.
Stiles was confused, what was so valuable, more than triskelion? "Bearer bonds? Hold on. Hold on a second. Are you saying you got robbed?"
Peter gritted his teeth, he was seething, "This was a heist. Somebody planned this."
"How much did they take?" Stiles asked.
Peter answered, "One hundred seventeen."
Stiles and Lydia walked closer to the vault. "Thousand?"
"Million." That definitely... wasn't what they were expecting.
