FINNLEY CONNOR AND HIS BROTHER Eddie were freshly new to the dainty town of Beacon Hills, a place where everyone knew everyone, or the fact nothing interesting happened. Like that wasn't intimidating at all.

But boring wouldn't last forever, only time would tell. Finnley, or Finn as he liked to be called, didn't like the idea of moving once again, but of course the adult was in charge. So here he was, unpacking in the newly rented two story, two bedroom, one bathroom house.

Finn couldn't help but feel superstitious, but that was him overthinking as always. Once the majority of his room was unpacked he sighed in exhaustion, totally regretting stacking all of his books into two separate boxes, carrying them all the way from the moving truck and up the stairs.

His first day of school was happening the next day, it was already anxiety-inducing enough to start at a new school, it was even more difficult when you didn't know anyone there. Though, it's not like Finn had any friends back in Atlanta, he hoped he wouldn't embarrass himself.

Those chances were below five percent as Eddie would say: "Be optimistic, or else you'll stay like the grinch all year round." Finn didn't know why he factored it as a Christmas metaphor but he shrugged it off.

Not knowing what else to do, he grabbed his laptop and began typing away. Using his cellular data, as the internet wasn't a priority yet. He tried doing some research about this town. He found some articles about the sheriff of the local police station.

There was a lacrosse team at his high school, not that he would try out, sports weren't his thing, and even read about a rare sighting of a wolf. This town may have just gotten a bit intriguing, after an hour Finn felt too tired to really continue unpacking so he changed into some pajamas and went to sleep.

Tomorrow was going to be a new day, and hopefully he'll have a good time. Getting up at about six in the morning has its pros and cons, like being extremely tired. But Finn had to be productive, he got dressed and Eddie got him to school on time.

Being in a town where you had no clue how things operated, it got a little hectic, almost completely missing first period because he couldn't find his locker. Finn was losing hope that today would be a good one, he somehow found his way to the office and Principal Madden led him to his class.

They walked through the door and up to the teachers desk. "Mr. Finstock, this is your new student." Principal Madden said, gesturing to the teen, Finn coming into view of the whole class, he tried hard not to visibly fiddle nervously.

He probably was as he had a tendency to embarrass himself 24/7. Principal Madden left them to their devices and Coach Finstock took out his clipboard looking for Finn's name. Except this whole monstrosity of an interaction was about to take place.

Finn should've seen it coming, it's a common misconception really. Coach did a double take, and in all his gritty teeth ways said. "Einnley? What the hell is an Einnley? Who names their kid.. I feel sorry for you."

The class erupted into hushed snickering, Finn wanted crawl into a hole and die, he cleared his throat and spoke up, "Uh sir, it's Finnley, but I go by Finn."

"What?" Coach asked.

"My name isn't Einnley, it's Finnley. The administrator must've made a typo." Finn replied, Finstock waved him off and told him to sit next to Dunbar. Obviously, having no idea who Dunbar was, he stood awkwardly.

The other boy raised his hand and he walked over to the empty desk. Liam looked over at him and smiled, he leaned over to whisper a greeting. "Hey, I'm Liam."

Finn smiled back, "Hi, I'm Finn, but you already knew that."

Liam chuckled, "Sorry about Coach, he does that a lot."

"Is he always so... eccentric?" Finn questioned.

"Pretty much yeah, you'll get used to it." Finn laughed, then got interrupted by Coach Finstock who threatened to make him and Liam clean his car if they didn't shut up.

This was an interesting first day so far, Finn was kind of excited to see what else was in store, and also glad he made a friend along the way.

The rest of the day seemed to go fairly smoothly, he and Liam talked a little bit and when he had time, he walked around the halls to get a sense of familiarity so he wouldn't get lost and be late for anything.

It was a new year for the pack, towards the end of junior year to be exact, and after all the craziness that happened last year. They needed their slates to be clean and focus on their studies, but it wasn't going to be easy, especially after Allison's death, Isaac leaving, and almost losing Stiles.

Or at least, that's how Scott felt, he was so tired of losing those he loved or almost losing them, he thought it was his fault after Allison died. Both he and Stiles tried convincing the other it wasn't, neither of them believed it, in the back of their minds they were the cause to the effect.

Now wasn't the time to grovel in grief, they had more pressing matters, currently the group was in Mexico, trying to find the one and only sour-wolf himself, Derek Hale. Stiles had a plan, like he always did, he and Lydia were walking through the streets of some place.

Lydia had no faith in their plan and thinks it will get them killed. Stiles was hoping she was only being pessimistic and not having a banshee prediction. Lydia pursed her lips, "I'm saying it as a person who doesn't want to die."

Stiles shook his head, "Okay. Then would you mind restricting any talk of death to actual banshee predictions?"

Crossing her arms Lydia replied, "This plan is stupid and we're going to die."

"Oh, thank you." Stiles said in a sarcastic tone, they continued scouting until nighttime fell, and the two teens tried to gain access to a club and were refused entry.

Stiles shuffled around his pockets and pulled out a card bearing a skull and flashed it at the security camera above them. They walked through the crowded club of sweaty intoxicated people and went right up to the bar.

Stopping to assess what they were going to do next, a glass slid in front of Stiles, someone bought him a beverage, of course he wasn't going to drink it.

Lydia dropped a bullet in her glass with a skull engraved on it; it's the symbol of the Calaveras, these kids were here strictly on business.

Not to get wasted in the middle of nowhere, a muscled toned man appeared behind them and escorted the two to a room to negotiate with Araya, the head of the Calaveras.

Picking a bad guy out was pretty easy considering all the odds. Stiles and Lydia knew that the Calaveras were holding Derek hostage. That's why they came up with the plan, they were negotiating to buy him back with fifty thousand dollars.

That they may or may not have gotten from the Yakuza a couple months ago. The Calaveras drew their guns and Araya told Lydia and Stiles that it wasn't smart to come alone. Stiles cocked his head sideways, "What makes you think we came alone?" Araya made the connection, she wasn't happy that there was a wolf in her home.

But it's not just a werewolf; they brought an Alpha. Araya told Stiles and Lydia that they have poor timing. "Do you know what the dark moon is?" The older woman asked.

"The part of a lunar phase when the moon is least visible in the sky." Lydia answered.

Araya nodded her head, "But do you know its meaning?"

"Some people say it's a time of reflection or grief." Araya isn't sure why the pack would risk suffering more grief and loss for someone like Derek Hale. Stiles informed her that they don't like to lose.

The Calaveras tried to secure the exits but Scott had already taken out the guy at the northern point. He picks up the guy's walkie-talkie and tells Stiles to take ten thousand off the table. Stiles does. Araya still won't take the deal.

Eventually, the Calaveras realize that Malia and Kira are the people they're looking for and close in. Malia takes out a dude with a gun.

Kira of course uses her weapon; nunchucks, and brutally hits a woman in the face. Scott takes out the final dude and they're heading towards the meeting room.

Stiles, in the meantime, continued to negotiate with Araya. "Come on, just give us Derek. You don't want him anyway. Haven't you noticed what a downer he is? No sense of humor, poor conversationalist. Just come on. Take the money."

The Calaveras have a different way of negotiating and it involved filling the club with wolfsbane-laced smoke. Scott and Malia fall to the ground.

Kira is knocked out by another hunter. Araya began to gloat how she's been a hunter for forty years and Scott is only a little naive Alpha.

Scott realized that Araya doesn't even know where Derek is. But realization comes too late as she stings him in the chest with an electric cattle prod. When Scott went to Derek's loft to check on him a few weeks back, he found everything in order.

Like no one was home. Except there was a tin full of bullets with skulls engraved on them. Dr. Deaton advised Scott that the mark was that of the Calavera hunting family.

They didn't know what the Calaveras would want with Derek so they had Lydia do her thing to test the bullets. Lydia confirmed that Derek wasn't dead but she wasn't sure that he was alive either. So Scott decided that a road trip to Mexico was in order.

Waking up from being unconscious, Scott found himself in a gross old bathroom to find himself being held with Stiles, Kira, and Malia. The teens figured out that the Calaveras didn't have Derek but now they're holding Lydia hostage. Araya was asking her some questions.

Lydia didn't necessarily want to answer anything, but the men with weapons weren't settling the uneasiness in her stomach. Besides, Lydia didn't know what to say about her new powers, she's still pretty clueless.

She thought Araya would have better luck with tarot cards. With the others, looking around there's no way out of the bathroom prison. Malia says they should just take out whoever opens the door next. Seemingly unconcerned about leaving Lydia behind.

Stiles reminded her the rules of the wild kingdom don't apply to friends. "Is that what you would do as a coyote? Leave her for dead?" Kira questioned the girl.

"If she was weak and injured, yeah. If hunting had been bad that season, I would eat her. Then I'd leave." Malia replied without hesitation.

Noticing the awkward silence, Stiles broke it by saying, "Believe it or not, that's progress."

Kira points out that if the Calaveras didn't take Derek from the loft then something else happened. Maybe he left on his own or maybe someone else got to him, they didn't know, it was back to square one.

Meanwhile at their little brunch session; Araya tests Lydia's skills by killing one of her own hunters. Lydia realized who was going to die as soon as Araya had the physical intent to kill. Now Araya wants to know more about Scott and what kind of Alpha he really is.

Though what she had in mind wasn't... the most sensible way, she had Scott tied to a chair so they could electrocute him. Kira has to control the switch; if she doesn't electrocute Scott, then a hunter will electrocute Lydia.

Lydia can't heal. Scott told Kira to do what the Calaveras say. Araya said that Scott knew who took Derek. He and Lydia both say they don't know; they wouldn't be here if they did.

Of course, Scott gets an electric shock, he writhes in pain, Kira didn't want to touch the dial again. Araya kept making Kira electrocute Scott and yelling at him to remember who had a vendetta particular to the Hales.

Who had the power of a shapeshifter, who could have been turned but not by a bite. Lydia started crying silently and Kira was on the verge of tears. Downstairs in the bathroom, Malia tells Stiles that they're killing Scott. They had to do something, and do it now.

Araya takes over the electrocution until a memory is forced out of Scott. He remembers overhearing Kate Argent asking her brother if someone could be turned into a werewolf from a scratch.

Scott broke out of his chains with his strength and said it was Kate. While Malia is relaying this information to Stiles. Stiles says it's impossible; Kate was a hunter who's tried to kill them multiple times and an Argent.

Having gotten what she wanted, Araya releases the McCall pack. She sent four men out to where Kate was rumored to have been seen and none of them returned.

And the reason for all the electrocution was because Scott wouldn't have believed Araya if she told him Kate was alive. "Now I know what kind of Alpha you are and where your next step lies."

Scott was confused, "What next step?"

"When you take the bite of an innocent, when you make a wolf of your own when you do that, then I will cross your border and come knocking at your door." Araya organized a guide to lead the pack to Kate's last rumored location.

It's Braeden, who the gang knows all too well. "Right now I'm the only one who's going to La Iglesia." She told the teens.

Lydia translated, as she knew Spanish. "The church?"

"What's the church?" Stiles asked.

"It's not a place you'll find God." Braeden retorted. The pack followed Braeden in Stiles's Jeep. Malia and Kira need an explanation about who Kate was.

While Stiles needed an explanation about how Kate is alive, because he remembered watching Peter kill her. The group continued down the deserted road, nothing in sight but the sun.

"What kind of shape is sociopathic bitch?" Lydia asked in a snarky tone. The Jeep suddenly started breaking down, possibly running over something and not wanting to waste time, everyone had to separate.

Scott needed to go with Braeden and find Derek before nightfall. Scott jumped on the back of her bike and they rode off.

With the others, Stiles continued to fix Roscoe, while Malia looked under the Jeep and found what looked like a giant tooth but it could just be a toothy knife. They didn't hit something; something hit them.

Soon Braeden and Scott paused on a hill so that she and Scott could see La Iglesia from further away. A massive earthquake leveled the entire town but left the church alone. Locals think it's because the church was built over the ruins of an Aztec temple that belonged to some werejaguars.

Stiles was elbow-deep in the Jeep's engine, trying to make it look like he knows what he's doing. He didn't have duct tape, the one time he needed the damn tape he didn't bring it with him.

He absolutely refused to abandon, in his words, his baby. In favor of walking to La Iglesia to help Scott. Malia tells him to work faster. Her tone was frustration because there's something out there with them. Kira pulled out her sword while Stiles and Lydia bicker like an old married couple.

That wasn't unusual, they've been doing it since the third grade. Stiles kept messing around with the wrench, "Lydia, can you please just hold the flashlight still for a second? It's really hard to see anything when you keep shaking it like that."

"I'm shaking it like this because we're in the middle of nowhere with your broken-down Jeep and we're being attacked by yet another razor-clawed monster. And I'm terrified." Lydia retaliated.

Stiles sighed, "Well, just be slightly less terrified." While the two continue to bicker, Kira stands with Malia and asks if she can see anything. Malia says she can't see anything.

Kira used her sword to try and direct the Jeep's headlights a bit better and they saw something moving in the dark. Malia growled and ran after it. Kira chased her, Stiles attempted to go after her as well. Lydia told him to focus on fixing the Jeep.

He does, but isn't happy about it. Kira loses sight of Malia and is quite terrified. She swung her sword around, thinking she kept hearing something behind her.

Nearly decapitating Malia, who came running back with a wound in her side. She had no clue what that thing was but it was big and fast and it cut deep. They heard the Jeep's engine roar and bolted back towards it.
β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”

In the church, Scott and Braeden walked around and talked about why Scott and Kira didn't kiss when they said goodbye. Scott says that Kira isn't his girlfriend. "So if you die down here, are you going to regret not kissing her? You should've kissed your girlfriend." Braeden said matter-of-factly.

They traveled deeper into the church where there was cold wind and a lot of cobwebs. Scott can feel a presence, something or someone was near. It never came into their line of sight properly but they can hear it. It started running towards them and Braeden shot at it.

The rest of the pack were driving along in the Jeep, and Stiles scolded Malia not to do that again. He thought she had taken off and was running. "I was running." She said blankly. Stiles tapped his fingers along the steering wheel anxiously, "No, I mean like, I thought you were leaving."

"I wouldn't leave without you." Malia gave him a sweet look, reaching out to his shoulder.

"Really?" Stiles asked, not hiding the surprise laced in his voice.

"I would never leave without you. Them, I would leave." Malia gestured to the backseat, where Kira and Lydia are sitting. Stiles told them that, once again, it's progress. He looked in the rear view mirror and Lydia's expression says she wants to hit Malia.

Looking at the girl's wound she seemed fine with it still bleeding. Malia replies saying that it's healing. And while she could barely see what attacked her, it had a strong scent. "Like what?"

"Like death." Well, that's... great. Meanwhile Scott and Braeden, she continued shooting at the bone monster until they lost sight of it again.

They backed away and Braeden tells Scott to get behind her. Instead, he lets out deep rumbling roar and almost collapses half the tunnel they just walked down. "I think I scared it."

"I think you scared everything." Behind them, the wall shifted and they saw a fancy carving. It was a carving of the werejaguar god. Scott put his face to it and then punched through the stone. A hand reached out for them through the hole.

Scott took a hold of it and pulled up the person, only it wasn't what they were expecting. It was revealed to be a teenage Derek, now last they checked he was a twenty five year old man, so how the hell did he de-age decades?

Stiles pulled up outside the church just as Scott and Braeden emerged carrying Derek between them. Stiles ran over but looked horrified and confused. "Is that him? Is that Derek?" He questioned, Scott didn't know if there was a right answer, so all he could say was, "Sort of."

'Sort of' meaning that it's a teenage Derek with no facial hair, fewer muscles, and a confused expression. That's the conclusion Stiles came up with to stop himself from freaking out, it wasn't working. Something was happening, and of course these teens were in the center of it.
