A.N >>> since this book will stop at the end of season 2020, i had this imagined how artemis would react to george's first podium

Rain was pouring down in Spa-Franchorchamps. The race has been delayed for over an hour. The track became a water slide instead of a racing circuit.
Artemis assumed they will finish how they qualified. Which means George on the podium. A smile plays her features as she thinks about him on the podium.

Artemis wanders around the paddocks. Hanging out with Daniel and Lando. Then with Charles and Carlos. Then she talked with Delilah at the Red Bull's pit wall. She played football with Sebastian and the Haas'.
Once they are about to race, Artemis was supporting her boyfriend. She stood at the front of the pit line, where George's car is placed second.
"Drive safe," she says before he steps into the car. "I will, my love," he says before sitting down in the cockpit.

The race started behind the safety car. Artemis watched the screens, seeing the amount of spray. Artemis silently hoped no one would lose their car and the safety car would continue.
She could only let out a sigh of relief when she saw the red flag. This must be the end of the race.

The drivers got out of their cars, knowing this would be it. Artemis was by George's side when they waited for Michael Masi, the F1 race director, to give the final word.

RACE CONTROL | RACE WILL NOT RESUME

Everyone in the Williams paddock went wild. Artemis screeched as she jumped in George's arms. "I'm so proud of you," she sniffs, hiding her face in the crook of his neck. George instantly tears up as he whispers, "I love you."
