George and Artemis pull up the driveway next to Max's apartment. It was Saturday evening. Max wanted to organise a surprise party for Delilah's birthday and asked whether they wanted to help. Not everyone accepted the invitation, which is understandable.

"Hey, Max!" Artemis greets and wraps her arms around his neck. "Hey, Art!" he smiles, "so glad you want to help, even though I'm not letting you do much." "Always, mate," George smiles. "I am capable Max!" Max eyes her cast around her wrist and makes a sound of disapproval.
Besides them, Sebastian was there and Daniel, Lando, Alex and Pierre. "So, Charles is now 'distracting' Delilah?" Artemis asks, trying to hide her smirk. Max nods as he says, "yes, he would text me or you, I don't know, when he is heading over."
"Copied," Artemis says, "now what should I do." "You can help me to blow some balloons," Max instructs, "George, Alex and Lando will be doing the banner." "You're leaving that to them?" Artemis chuckles. "What can go wrong?" Max asks, shrugging. Artemis just smiles as she imagines what can happen.

Artemis helps Max blowing some balloons. George, Lando and Alex are creating a banner with Happy Birthday. Pierre, Daniel and Sebastian are hanging up decorations.

"I told you," Artemis whispers to Max as they both observe the banner.

"Sorry," Lando apologises, "I thought it would fit." He chuckles, scratching the back of his neck. "Happy Birthday, de lilah," Daniel reads, "to be honest, it sounds not bad."
"It doesn't," Max laughs, "she will appreciate it." "Just like my present," Artemis smirks, looking over to the table. "Yeah, what is it?" Max questions. "Something you wouldn't understand."

Charles has texted they were on their way back, so everyone hid behind the furniture. Max switched off the lights before he hid next to Artemis.
The door opens and they all hear muffled voices. Delilah switched the lights on and everyone jumps out of their hiding place. "Happy Birthday!"
