❝YOU CAN WIN IT, yeah? Just focus on kicking, Thumbelina. Not in the balls, though. Just, uhh, y'know," Johnny instructed the blonde girl, who stood by his side, simply nodding her head at his every word. After her friends had made it to the semifinals, it was Willow's turn and she could admit that the negative feelings started showing in her body once again, causing her to be completely unfocused.
It wasn't just about karate, though. It was also the fact that Hawk picked a really wrong time to tell the blonde something she didn't want to hear about. At least not when she was about to fight a guy that was twice her size and probably much stronger than her. It seemed like a torture to Willow ── how was she even supposed to win with him? The look on his face already told her that he wasn't an easy opponent.
"Look at me carefully, Miss Froud," the Lawrence man suddenly spoke, because he was the state Willow was in. When she pulled herself out of her thoughts, she looked at him with narrowed eyes. Seeing that she finally had her attention on him, Johnny continued. "You go there . . ." he pointed to the mat, Willow nodding her head slowly.
"Yeah . . ."
". . . and you beat the shit out of this asshole. You understand?" he asked. The blonde girl agreed, wearing a worried smile on her face as she looked at her opponent once again. "Imagine that it's some, uh, dude that hurt you so much that you don't want to do anything more than kicking his ass so much that he shits himself in his pants. Now go. Go, go, go," he started to shoo her away with his hand.
Willow sighed heavily and jumped on the mat, immediately hiding her worries behind a confident smirk that grew more as soon as she heard people applauding. She looked over her shoulder, her gaze meeting Miguel's, who gave her thumbs up and a small nod, understanding her without any words. She nodded back to him and came back to her opponent. She could do it ── she just needed to turn her thinking off.
"And face me. Bow. Face each other. Bow," the ref ordered, Willow and the brunette boy doing what he told them to and then slowly turning to face each other, bowing too, their expressions being serious and filled with sternness.
None of them really wanted to lose, but there had to be only one winner and Willow hoped it would be her.
"Ready? Fight!"
As soon as they heard the man scream, the fight had officially begun. Willow got into a fighting stance and spun around for a roundhouse kick, which the boy quickly dodged, clenching his jaw in anger. A moment later, he tried to kick her in the chest, but she quickly pushed his leg away with her fist and used the opportunity to punch him in the face, causing him to stumble back. With that, she took Johnny's advice and went all out to use her legs to win the fight. She front kicked her opponent in the ribs before upper-blocking his next punch and grabbing the boy's leg that was about to collide with her stomach, pushing him to the ground and scoring the first point.
"Point, Froud!" the ref yelled and with that, the audience roared loudly. Willow got off the boy, taking a deep breath and trying to prepare herself for what was coming next.
"You got it, Wills!"
"Come on, Loo!"
"That's my freakin' girl out there!"
Hearing her friends, Willow turned to glare at her teammates, then sent a smug smile their way. Eventually, her green eyes found Johnny, who promptly tried to get the feeling of déjà vu out of his head as he watched the girl who lately reminded him of his young self. It was actually crazy how often Willow managed to make his past come back to him in just a few seconds. And it was all just because of some fighting skills that she used against her opponent.
After the fight resumed, the Topanga Karate kid managed to score a point, tying the score at one-to-one. Willow wasn't sad about it, though ── she was doing everything she could and knew that her team, friends and family appreciated it.
Not long minutes later, she had earned another point by swapping the boy's leg and making him fall to the ground. When a painful groan escaped his lips, Willow didn't even try to stop herself from checking up on him. Her heart was telling her that she was doing the right thing.
"Hey, are you okay?" she asked with her eyes narrowing at him in concern. A disorientated look showed on the brunette's face as soon as he heard that.
"What?" he muttered quietly.
She sighed before repeating herself again. "I said, are you okay,"
Even though she repeated herself, the boy's expression didn't change at all. He had blinked several times before slightly nodding his head and lifting himself up.
"Uh, yeah? I guess," he shrugged, and that was enough for the girl.
The two got back into their fighting positions and started the fight as soon as the referee told them to. Willow knew she was one point away from winning, so she tried her best not to be distracted by anyone or anything. She blocked the boy's aggressive punches and then ducked his round kick before grabbing his leg and pushing it to the side. He stumbled back, but then lunged at her again, a battle cry escaping his lips. Willow took advantage of the moment, crouching down to spin around and swap his legs, sending him crashing to the ground again. With that, the audience stood up, clapping their hands and shouting her name loudly. Willow felt as if she was in some movie ── everything seemed too unbelievable to be real.
"Winner!" the man shouted, holding her hand up and making her stand up. Some seconds later she felt someone wrap their arms around her waist and spin her around for a few times before putting her down once again. When she turned around, she saw Miguel's proud face, so she chuckled from excitement.
"I knew you could do it, Wills!" the Diaz boy shouted, hugging his best friend once again. The green-eyed girl smiled at herself and when the two pulled away from each other, they ran to their team, who yelled in excitement and congratulated her immediately.
The girl wanted to take her place once again, but was stopped by Hawk's hand that landed on her wrists, making her exhale before turning to face him.
"You did . . . great," he admitted, her shrugging in response.
"Yeah, thanks." she said shortly. She didn't really want to deal with the boy before the tournament ── she needed to focus, but he made it as difficult for her as the thought of her father.
The Moskowitz boy didn't want to shrug off her reaction, though, so he spoke again. "Are you sure you aren't mad, Loo?" he repeated his previous question.
Willow's fingertips clenched on her gi just as she felt irritation wash over her entire body. What was she going to say? That she was extremely angry with him, but telling him that would never change anything? That he made her feel like the worst slut right after she'd had a fight with her father, who suddenly came back and started acting like he didn't leave her family for years, her mom just accepting it? That he kissed another girl after telling her that he'll wait for her? That he was the one, who played with someone's feelings?
What was she really supposed to tell him?
"I said I'm not, Hawk," she muttered with her voice being more rude than she could imagine. She didn't apologize, though. Not wanting to continue their conversation, she walked away from him and took the place next to Miguel, who put his arm around her and rubbed her back to calm her down.
She didn't think her day could become even worse.

WILLOW GLANCED OVER to the audience and blew a kiss as her eyes met Blair's. The dark blonde did the same, finally waving to her new friend. A small snort escaped Willow's lips as she looked straight ahead again, trying to keep her expression serious as she listened to what Daryl had to say.
"There can be only one true winner and he is standing on this stage right now . . . Will it be Miguel Diaz from Cobra Kai karate?" the man pointed to the mentioned boy, who bowed straight ahead. Willow started clapping as soon as she heard her friend's name, smiling widely along with the people from the audience. "Will it be Hawk . . . well, I guess it's just Hawk from Cobra Kai karate?" with that, the blue-haired boy, who stood next to her, bowed to the others. The blonde girl smiled at him in a supporting way and continued applauding.
Daryl turned his head to the girl and she took a short breath, knowing what was going to happen. "Will it be Willow Froud from Cobra Kai karate?" as soon as he said that, the girl bowed and could hear her friends yells.
"That's my girl out there!" Demetri shouted, but was suddenly interrupted by Blair, who gazed at him with her eyebrows raised.
"Nope, that's my girl out there!" she yelled back, Willow chuckling lightly at their sudden words exchange.
Charlie joined in too. "Shut up, it's obvious that's my sis out there!"
Willow's amusement widened immediately, because of the conversation, but then she looked back at Daryl, who had a confused look on his face.
"Well, uh, will it be Robby Keene, unaffiliated?" he questioned, making the Froud girl glance over at the boy in a white gi and frowned.
She still tried her best to understand, who he was ── maybe he was Johnny's family or something?
"And last, but certainly not least, last year's champion, fighting out of Topanga Karate, Xander Stone!" he said to the microphone, making people roar loudly at the mention of the boy's name.
Willow's eyes followed the boy in the blue gi, who surprisingly jumped and did a somersault in the air, then grabbed the microphone out of the man's hands. The girl raised one of her eyebrows suspiciously.
"I just wanted to say, even though I love to fight, we all need to fight together against hatred," he stated, Willow trying to stop herself from smiling and clearing her throat when her two's best friend's eyes turned to her.
"Uh, yeah, such a simp," she muttered, acting as if she didn't like the speech. Hawk and Miguel nodded their heads in agreement.
"And as I look around this arena, I pray for every race, religion and gender that we can all live together in peace. Please, join me in a moment of silence as we strive to end intolerance in our time," he explained. With that, Willow and other people hold their heads down.
Johnny turned to Miguel and Willow only to whisper something to them. "Hey, one of you kick that pansy bitch in the face."
The Diaz and the Froud slowly nodded their heads, looking at the man with slight smirks on their faces. "Yes, Sensei,"
Daryl quickly took the microphone from Xander's hand. "All right!" he yelled, making the people look up again. "First up, Stone versus Froud. Let's go!" he exclaimed. Willow exhaled heavily and looked over to her Sensei.
The man stopped her as his hand landed on her arm. "Remember where to kick him, all right?" he whispered to her, Willow nodding her head in understanding.
"Yeah,"
Willow, Miguel and Hawk embraced each other in a group hug before the blonde pulled away and walked towards the mat, clenching her fists.
The fight began quickly. The Froud girl immediately started kicking, dodging and blocking every hit the Stone boy threw at her, trying to ignore the screams of a woman that made her blood boil. As time passed, Willow and Xander were able to score two points and the blonde even kicked the boy in the face, but when it came to the last moment, she begged herself to concentrate on every move the boy made towards her. She really wanted to be in the finals, but she would also be happy if one of her friends was there.
"I'm sorry too," Xander muttered to her, which caused her to frown in confusion. She didn't really understand what he was talking about.
But guess she started understanding those words when he did a round kick and his leg hit her chest hard, causing her to fall to the ground. A cry escaped her lips when she hit the mat with her face and could feel a lot of pain in her nose, but also around her whole chest.
"Winner!" with that, Xander's hand lifted in the air. Willow tried to use all the strength she had in her hands to lift herself up, but ended up having Miguel and Hawk to help her.
As soon as the girl raised her head up, the Moskowitz boy's hands touched her face while he looked at her carefully, wiping the blood from her nose.
"Your nose is bleeding, Loo," he announced in concern, leading the girl out of the mat, her blinking several times to push away the tears that suddenly appeared in her eyes because of the amount of pain she felt in the moment.
"I feel," she answered shortly, the boy sighing because of the girl's ignorance directed towards him.
Johnny put a single hand on the girl's arm, tightening it slightly as he spoke. "You did great, Thumbelina." he reassured her. She gave him a small nod in a response. "Now, go clean your nose," he ordered her.
She shook her head quickly. "No, Miguel──"
The Lawrence man cut her off.
"Diaz will understand. Your well-being is more important right now,"
Johnny's words didn't convince her either ── she didn't want to skip her best friend's fight, especially after he was always there for her in every single decision she had made. It just felt wrong, so she tried to believe that she could bear with her aching body and bloody nose. The Moskowitz boy didn't have as much hope as she had, so his hand wrapped on her wrist just because he wanted to have her attention.
When she narrowed her eyes at him, he pointed to her nose with a head nod. "You shouldn't ignore this, Loo," he muttered, her doing her best to not roll her eyes at his sudden change.
He didn't care about her the other night when he was making out with Moon, so why would he now? It's not like it would change something between them ── Willow was still disappointed by his actions and behavior.
With that, she shook her head firmly once again. "I'm fine, the bleeding will probably stop soon or something. Miguel needs me now,"
"You don't need to think about everyone else before yourself, you know? It won't take long, you'll make it to Miguel's fight," Eli told her, so she sighed and looked at Johnny, who agreed with the boy. She really didn't have much of a choice.
"Okay," she replied briefly, pulling her hand away from Hawk's grasp. She didn't wait for him. She just started walking away ── she didn't care if he came with her or not. All she knew was that this boy was making a big mess in her head.
And Willow was sure that she didn't like that.
⦅ ━━━ °⌜ 赤い糸 ⌟° ━━━ ⦆
WILLOW HISSED IN PAIN and her nails immediately tightened on Hawk's arms as he started wiping away the blood from her nose with a new tissue. She didn't need his help at all, but he was too stubborn to leave her alone, so she ended up leaning against the washbasin, the boy standing right in front, cleaning her bloody nose. Hawk clenched his jaw when he felt her nails dig into his hand, trying to stop himself from getting a painful sound off his lips. He didn't want to be seen as a loser by Willow ── not anymore.
"Are you done?" the blonde asked impatiently, blinking several times to push away the tears that showed in her emerald coloured eyes. She already had enough of the pain that was in her whole body, so she tried her best to distract herself from it. With that, her gaze landed on the blue mohawk, narrowing slightly as the boy wiped her nose once again.
Hawk gave her a small shake of his head that synced with the girl's body that tensed immediately. "One more second," he declared quietly, his blue eyes wandering from her nose to her eyes. After he pulled the tissue away from the girl's face and threw it in the trash, he could see that the bleeding had already stopped. He sighed with relief. "Now─ uhm, now I'm done," he muttered and Willow finally looked away from his hair, her eyes stopping at the boy's eyes, which were still filled with concern.
They were looking into each other's eyes in silence for some time before the girl cleared her throat and backed away from him. Even if she wanted that moment to stay longer, she couldn't do it. Not when she knew that Hawk had a girlfriend. It wouldn't be fair towards Moon, who did nothing wrong. And Willow wasn't going to be the other woman. She wasn't going to be the second chance just like she was to anyone else.
"So, uh, thanks," she shrugged awkwardly, not really knowing what to say. Even though she was friends with Eli for years, his new phase made her feel completely different in his company. It felt as if she was talking to a different person than the boy she knew her entire childhood.
Not hearing any answer from him, she moved towards the door and pressed the door handle, but was stopped by the Moskowitz boy's voice.
"Willow, wait," he begged, but then cursed underneath his breath, because he realized that he didn't use the nickname he had been calling the girl since they've known each other. Willow froze and slowly turned to face him, being hesitant because of what he would want to tell her. "Why are you so distant towards me?" the question slipped from his lips in sudden, which caused seriousness to wash all over her face. She didn't expect him to ask her about something like that.
Well, she thought he didn't even see the signs she gave him for him to finally understand that their friendship felt strange after all the moments they shared. And after all the moments that were ruined just because they didn't know how to talk things out. Maybe if they did know, everything would end up differently.
"E, I really don't want to have this complicated shit between us, but . . ." she stopped herself to take a deep breath and work up the courage to say what was on her mind. When she caught the confused look on Hawk's face, she continued. "I'm really not sure how you want me to act around you after you argued with me about something that didn't really have any sense, made me feel like the worst slut on the earth even though you literally told me that you understand me and then acted like an asshole towards me the whole day," she exclaimed, causing the boy to go silent and look at her with an unreadable expression.
Even though Willow knew that the boy already felt stupid, she continued. She didn't want to be seen as a person that always had to forgive everyone even after they made her feel like a total trash.
"You said something to me and then did the exact opposite, even though you promised me that you knew how hard it was for me to express and understand my own feelings. You treated me like a total shit just because I had enough of your asshole attitude," she reminded him. Hearing those words he looked on the ground, not knowing what to say. "And you did all that after my father came back and argued with me about something as obvious as the fact that I would never play with someone's feelings," she pointed out.
Hawk's gaze suddenly stopped at her face, him having a mix of shock and guiltiness on his face. He pulled one hand towards her, but she quickly pushed it away, shaking her head firmly.
"Don't expect me to act as if nothing happened, because something did happen. I'm not going to be someone you can take your anger on, Hawk." she said and now he was the one, who was surprised because of the nickname that fell from her lips. She couldn't stop herself ── the fact that the old Eli would never treat her like that was enough for her to do it. "And neither will be your friends," she added.
The Moskowitz sighed heavily. "I didn't know that your father came back, if I knew──" he got interrupted by Willow once again.
"It doesn't matter right now, okay? All that matters is that you're starting to forget about your real self. With every single action you do, the old Eli disappears more and more and I don't want to lose him. I don't want you to lose yourself," she put her hands on his shoulders, his gaze travelling on her face, but him still being silent as he listened to everything she was telling him. "I know that the old Eli's times were really hard for you, but please, don't become an asshole because of that. Don't break the promise you made," she begged.
After that, the boy finally answered her. "I'm sorry, Loo. Fuck, I'm so extremely sorry. I don't know why I did that. I never wanted to hurt you,"
She smiled softly. "I know you didn't, E. Just please, remember that your old self doesn't define that you're weak ── it means that you're strong, because you survived everything people put you through," she whispered and took her hands off his shoulders.
"Next up, Hawk versus Keene!"
Hearing that, the two glanced at each other intensively once again. They really lost track of time, because of their conversation.
"And now you go there and whatever happens, you smile, okay? Even if you don't win this, you'll be a winner to yourself and to me, because you tried your hardest. I really believe in you, E," the girl muttered, hugging him shortly and then pulling away. The Moskowitz boy froze for a while, before clearing his throat and finally walking out of the public toilet, a wide smile appearing on his lips just after he got out of the girl's sight.
The old Eli would start crying if he'd hear something like that from her. He was a winner to Willow Froud ── that was the best cheer he could ever get.

JUST WHEN WILLOW came back to the others, she was interviewed by Johnny and Miguel, who immediately told her about his revenge on Xander for hurting her. She smiled at him, even though she didn't really need him to do that ── she was happy that she could show the world her skills and prove to them that she was capable of something more than being the weird kid from school. She didn't win the fight, but she had won with herself, because she finally managed to turn off her thinking for a bit. And it really helped her with realizing lots of things.
"Are you okay, Sensei?" Willow asked Johnny as soon as she saw the look on his face. He frowned at her before nodding his head in agreement.
"Yeah,"
The girl's gaze followed the man's and it stopped on Robby and Hawk. Now she was pretty sure that Robby Keene wasn't someone indifferent for Johnny ── they had to be somehow connected.
Willow cheered when the fight suddenly started and Eli managed to score one point. Even though it was still awkward between them, she knew how much the tournament mattered to him, so she kept her fingers crossed for him. She believed he could do it.
The blonde's head snapped to the back when she heard Mr. LaRusso's scream. "Remember what you learned, Robby!"
Her confusion grew wider as soon as she heard that. She returned her gaze to the mentioned boy and saw him nod in an understanding way. He closed her eyes and took a deep breath. That made something click in her mind ── was Robby Keene the LaRusso's student? That would explain the unknown technique he was making.
As soon as the fight resumed, Hawk lunged at the Keene boy, but he was able to block his kicks and then push him to the side. The Moskowitz didn't stop there. He tried to attack the brown-haired boy again, but he blocked his attempts and then kicked him right in the face, with that sending him to the ground. Willow grimaced at the picture of her best friend lying on the ground ── that must be pretty painful.
"You okay?" the Froud girl shouted at him and he gave her a thumbs up in response. He stood up soon after, fixing the top of his gi and murdering his opponent with his eyes.
Willow watched as the two boys said something to themselves, but she was too far away to hear anything. Everything went so quickly after that. Hawk pushed off the ref's hand that tried to stop him and attacked Robby from behind, kicking him hard in the shoulder. That was something the blonde girl didn't expect ── not after he promised her something. He was apologizing to her because of acting like an asshole a few minutes ago and now he did the exact same thing. He disappointed her once again.
"That's enough! Illegal contact. You're disqualified!" the ref announced as he pulled the boy aside by force.
"Bullshit!"
Willow sent a serious look towards the Moskowitz boy, who smirked as he saw the Keene on the ground. She really tried to stop herself from shouting at him and showing him her anger ── he was crossing the line once again.
"What the hell were you thinking, man?" Johnny yelled at his student after he was dragged away from Robby too.
"What was I supposed to do? Be a pussy?" Hawk scoffed when he passed by the man and stood with his teammates. His gaze paused at the blonde girl, who clenched her jaw in rage. He sighed.
Three,
Two,
One.
"Have you lost your mind? What the hell is wrong with you!" she scolded him, which forced him to turn to her.
"He made fun of my hair! What did you expect me to do!" he blurted out and she snorted, shaking her head in disbelief.
"So what? Not everyone has to like it! You could just find the rest of your healthy senses and not act like a fucking asshole! You apologized to me for that a few minutes ago, for sake!" she hit his shoulders with her fists, making him stumble backwards. Their teammates looked at the girl, being too scared to interrupt her. "Are you even listening to me when I tell you that behaving like that doesn't make you cool? What will Moon think about you right now?" she pushed him once again, him scoffing in irritation. Suddenly, she was stopped by Miguel, who seemed as angry at his friend as her.
"Wills── Wills, hey. It's fine," the Diaz reassured her and exhaled heavily.
"Oh, give me a break,"
"With that disqualification Keene earns a trip to the finals. We'll see him back here after a short break,"
⦅ ━━━ °⌜ 赤い糸 ⌟° ━━━ ⦆
WILLOW DIDN'T SPEAK to Hawk after what he had done ── she really had enough of him not even understating what mistake he made. She literally felt as if she was talking to herself all the time. He promised her something and still did the opposite thing, thinking that she would be okay with it.
"This is it, folks. The moment we've all been waiting for. The final match to determine, who will be victor and champion," Daryl started, Willow's gaze drifting to Miguel who looked at her at the same time and smiled softly when he saw her giving him a thumbs up. "Will it be Miguel Diaz from Cobra Kai Karate?" he asked, pointing at the boy and his Sensei.
Willow cheered and clapped loudly along with the audience.
"Will it be Robby Keene unaffili─" the man was stopped by some woman that suddenly ran to him, whispering something into his eyes. "Daniel LaRusso's gonna couch? Daniel LaRusso is gonna couch!" he announced after a second, the audience clapping even louder.
"I'm sorry, folks, there's been a change! Robby Keene will now be fighting for Miyagi-Do Karate with former champion, Daniel LaRusso, as his Sensei!" he shouted and Willow smiled proud of her smartness. She knew it. "How about that? Good luck, gentleman," with that, Daryl ran off the mat.
Johnny and Daniel went their separate ways.
"What do you think you're doing?" Johnny asked the LaRusso man, him only shrugging in response.
"Teaching my student just like you do with Sean's daughter. I wonder what he would think about his enemy training his child," he said, looking at Willow out of the corner of his eyes. Johnny clenched his jaw in anger. "Or what would Addie think about it," he added and the Lawrence's anger grew stronger.
"Don't. You don't get to talk about her. You think this is funny?"
"Do you see me laughing?"
"You'll gonna regret this when it's over," Johnny muttered.
"Yeah, right. Like this'll ever be over,"
⦅ ━━━ °⌜ 赤い糸 ⌟° ━━━ ⦆
COBRA KAI STUDENTS shouted in anger when Robby was the first to score a point. Willow didn't, though. She sent a cheering smile towards her best friend, who punched the ground with his fists in anger ── Willow never saw Miguel being so angry, but she could understand it. He told her about what had happened at the party after she left with Blair and well, it wasn't good.
"No mercy!"
"You got it, man!"
"Remember the pinching machine! Don't get hit," Johnny reminded the boy and Willow snorted at the sign of memory showing in her head.
As the fight resumed, Miguel could dodge Robby's kicks and punches, earning happy screams from his teammates. Willow cheered loudly as the Diaz boy suddenly sent his opponent to the ground with a kick and then hit, scoring a point. The score was now one-to-one.
"Yeah!" Willow shouted along with Aisha, who had her arm wrapped around the blonde girl's shoulder.
"Whoo, Miggy!"
Miguel turned to his best friend and flashed her a wide smile before going back to the fight, which started again. Robby managed to block every punch the Diaz boy sent at him, but suddenly his fist hit the Keene's shoulder, causing him to groan in pain. Meanwhile Robby touched it, Miguel swapped his leg off the mat. When the Miyagi-Do boy landed on the ground, Miguel ran to him and punched him again.
"Point! That makes it two points for Diaz," the ref shouted and Willow covered her ears as soon as she heard Hawk's and her teammates' yell.
"Time! Time," Daniel LaRusso shouted as he stood up.
"Time?" Miguel asked with irritation.
Willow used the occasion and pushed through the Cobra Kai students. She ran to the Diaz boy, immediately wrapping her hands around his neck, the boy hugging her back after a second.
"You're doing great," she admitted, Miguel smiling in response as the two pulled away.
"Thanks, Wills. I'm not going to let him win," he nodded his head before the ref pulled him away from the girl.
"All right, Diaz. Let's go."
"Good luck, Miggs," Willow said as the boy started walking away.
The two got into their fighting positions straight away. Just after that, Miguel sent a kici towards Robby, but he blocked it. Willow then saw that the Diaz boy didn't give up ── he went to punch the Keene, but he blocked his every move and then pushed him to the side.
"Stop, out of bounds! Out of bounds!" the referee screamed. Miguel stood up and passed by Robby, poking him in the shoulder on purpose. Willow grimaced, seeing that. "No point. Out of bounds!" he exclaimed.
"Ready? Fight!"
They began to fight again. Miguel pushed the boy to the ground and tried to kick him, but he rolled to the side to avoid being hit. When he was on his knees, Miguel kicked him again in the shoulder, causing him to stumble to the ground with a painful groan escaping his lips.
Robby rolled to the side again and as the brunette boy was about to score the third point and win, Robby did something no one expected ─ he stood on one hand and kicked the Diaz hard in the stomach, sending him to the floor.
"How about that? A two-legged kick!" Daryl declared to the microphone.
"Miggy!" Willow shouted as he struggled to get up, but failed. With that, the Keene boy walked towards him and slowly extended a helping hand to his side. The blonde girl really thought that her friend would accept it, but instead, he pulled it hard, sending Robby to the ground once again.
The Froud girl opened her eyes in shock, even more when she heard her team's cheering yells. That wasn't right. Not for her and not for the audience, who started booing the boy.
"That's one warning for unsportsmanlike contact,"
And that was enough for the memories to come back to Johnny fully.
"Miggy, what the──"
Miguel interrupted the girl as soon as he walked towards her and Johnny.
"I found his weakness, Sensei. It's his shoulder," he announced, Willow biting her cheek in nervousness.
"Look, I know we want to win, but it's got to be the right way. We don't have to fight dirty," Johnny tried to get into the boy's head, but he shook it immediately.
"Dirty? There's nothing dirty about winning, Sensei. You taught me that. Don't worry, I got this. No mercy,"
And that was the second time Willow didn't like those two words.
"Whoever wins the next point will be our new champion!"
"It's two-two. Next point wins!"
Everything in front of Willow's eyes went so fast. The two boys were blocking, kicking, dodging.
But then it went into slow motion ── the screams, the moves. The Froud girl's head shook as Robby tried to kick the Diaz, but he grabbed his leg and then delivered a hard kick to his shoulder. After that, he took advantage of the moment and spun around, only to kick the boy in the stomach right at the end and send him to the ground.
He won. Miguel won.
It took a few seconds for Willow to process everything that had happened and after that, she ran towards her best friend and jumped on his back, him spinning her around immediately.
"You did it!"
"I did it, Wills!"
He put the blonde girl on the ground again and rushed to their Sensei, who was making his way towards Robby. Willow grimaced at the sign and made a few steps to her best friend's opponent, who was pulled away from them.
"Hey! Are you okay?" she asked, making him and Daniel LaRusso frown in confusion. None of them answered and with that, Willow felt someone from her team put their hands around her waist and spin her around in excitement. It turned out to be some boy she knew only a little.
"Who saw that coming, ah? I know I didn't!" Daryl shouted. "Without further ado, let me present the trophy to this year's new champion, Miguel Diaz and the Cobra Kai dojo!" he handed Miguel the trophy.
"Yeah!" the Diaz boy yelled, lifting it up.
"Is there anything you want to say to the people, son?"
"I just want to say that if it wasn't for my Sensei, I wouldn't be here, so this is for Sensei Johnny Lawrence and Cobra Kai!"
"Cobra Kai! Cobra Kai! Cobra Kai!" the team yelled happily together before closing themselves in a group hug.
They weren't a team. They were a family.
