other way to explain it.

people got sick, then they weren't people anymore, they were something else entirely. they had become something to fear, to something to run from, something to kill.

shufflers, that's what mason called them because they shuffled about aimlessly most of the time.

so, nicole and levi do the best they can to keep themselves and their kids safe. they fight, whether it be shufflers, other humans, or mother nature itself...

they fight to survive.

they trek through the woods, hiding in abandoned homes, eating what they can when they can and just when things look their bleakest, they meet a surely man with a crossbow.

and the surely man, who's definitely rough around the edges, may just be the only reason they survive the end of the world.

๋࣭⭑⚝ nicole and levi aren't together! he's her brother in-law. she lost her husband when the world first fell and she found levi, so they stuck together to keep the kids safe

๋࣭⭑⚝ mary is nicole's daughter and mason is levi's son, making the kids cousins

๋࣭⭑⚝ mary is 11 and mason is 15 in season two

๋࣭⭑⚝ starts in season two, they run into rick's group when they are looking for sophia. rick convinces then to join them, also asking for help. they eventually go to the farm with them

๋࣭⭑⚝ daryl is the first to come across them, mason and mary run head of levi and nicole, and when daryl hears then he turns to shot how crossbow only to stop when he sees the two kids - mary screams getting the adult's attention and that's how they meet

๋࣭⭑⚝ any and all relationships are slowburn, they kinda have to be

๋࣭⭑⚝ nicole and daryl are the only relationship i have planned, and they are super slowburn, like they probably won't even admit that they like each other until season four

๋࣭⭑⚝ mary shouldn't have a love interest until she's older, at least 15 or 16

๋࣭⭑⚝ feel free to add other ocs, they can be love interests or not

๋࣭⭑⚝ levi is slow to trust anyone, especially when rick just offers to help them. he also doesn't trust shane, the two often get off on the wrong foot causing tension

๋࣭⭑⚝ nicole was a nurse, she cares for other people, but since the end of the world, she's become closed off and slow to trust. the people they have come across have all be mean and ruthless

๋࣭⭑⚝ mary and mason are close despite the age difference, they often refer to the other as their sibling and no their cousin

๋࣭⭑⚝ mason is very protective of mary, he doesn't let her go far with him and he'd do anything for her and his family. he wants to be strong, he acts older then he is

๋࣭⭑⚝ mary has somehow retained her spirit, she's very much a kid. she smiles a lot and she hopes that the world will eventually get back to normal - she slowly loses that and hardness over time

๋࣭⭑⚝ levi was a firefighter beside the world fell, his first instinct was to help people, but the few people they had run into previously had turned out to be bad people so he took his family and left - everything he does is to keep them safe and together

๋࣭⭑⚝ it would be slow, but rick and levi would get along great, they are a lot alike and levi becomes rick's second-in-command so to speak. levi and daryl also get along pretty well, mostly because levi leaves the man be

๋࣭⭑⚝ this can cover as many seasons
as you would like, and obviously the charts would grow and change, just do what feels natural for the characters

๋࣭⭑⚝ in season four, when everyone gets separated, mary would end up with daryl and beth. mason would most likely end up with nicole, but you can pick who they end up with. levi might end up with glenn or possibly rick, you can decide that

๋࣭⭑⚝ mary would be scared of daryl at first, but he'd eventually become one of her favorite people

๋࣭⭑⚝ mary and carl would become fast friends

๋࣭⭑⚝ don't be afraid to unalive some people, it's the apocalypse, it's bound to happen

๋࣭⭑⚝ levi's wife left him when mason was six, she met someone else, packed her things and left. levi doesn't like to talk about it

๋࣭⭑⚝ if you want some added drama, you could have nicole's husband - who she thinks is dead - show up. if so, i was thinking jared padalecki for the faceclaim. if you did this, it would be awkward, but eventually things would smooth over. nicole could end up with either, or you could add an oc for the husband ( nathaniel james pierce ; nate )

๋࣭⭑⚝ i would very much like to keep this cast, but you really want to change them, i could possibly be persuaded, but only if the faceclaims are really good

๋࣭⭑⚝ when i first had the idea, it was meant to be an apply fic, so if you want to do that, go for it! but you don't have to

๋࣭⭑⚝ also, any names can be changed, i haven't seen all of twd so if on of my ocs has the same name as a character in the show, feel free to change the name - only if they have the same name of another character
