in which emma forbes is convinced she's broken beyond repair, only to find out she's not the only one

emma forbes is a damaged girl.

she spent years watching her parents' marriage fall apart, sometimes there were even full on screaming matches. until one day, bill left and never came back.

that was a shitty christmas.

still reeling from her dad's departure, emma falls into a pit of self-loathing and destruction.

she pushes her closest friends away, she spends most of her time in screaming matches with her sister, and she picks up a couple bad habits.

but there are a few bright spots...

vicki and jeremy, who soon became her closest friends and her escape from reality.

and tyler lockwood.

but things are anything but fine as school starts up and a couple new faces make life interesting... and the last thing emma every expected to happen was for vampires to be in town, much less for them to be real.

๋࣭⭑⚝ vicki and jeremy are emma's best friends, she hangs out with them in the stoner pit and she does smoke but she doesn't take any pills

๋࣭⭑⚝ emma and tyler stared seeing each other over the summer, a summer fling in you will but he continues it even after school starts but while she wants more, he just wants to have fun

๋࣭⭑⚝ emma and caroline fight and are a lot, they aren't close, especially in season one but they work it out over time. and despite not being close, they would do anything for each other

๋࣭⭑⚝ emma learns about vampires pretty early on, i don't really have a specific timeline for this but i think it should be sometime before elena does ❪ 🕯️ ❫

๋࣭⭑⚝ emma is convinced that caroline is the favorite child, where both of her parents are concerned

๋࣭⭑⚝ emma was in the cheer team, she got good grades, she was a sweet and kind girl, but after her dad left, she kinda went off the deep end. she started smoking and hanging out with vicki, later jeremy

๋࣭⭑⚝ tyler and vicki don't happen!

๋࣭⭑⚝ vicki and jeremy do happen, and they still have a few issues but i was thinking that could be the age difference or maybe commitment issues or something

๋࣭⭑⚝ the scene with tyler and vicki in the woods DOESN'T HAPPEN! ty and emma could just have a fight / argument about the fact that he doesn't want a girlfriend but he doesn't want to stop 'seeing' her

๋࣭⭑⚝ i don't have much planned out past season one, so you can have a lot of creative freedom when it comes to the plot and her relationships

๋࣭⭑⚝ i never actually settled on an endgame for emma, but i was thinking possibly enzo. she would definitely date other people before she ends up with him though. preferably not klaus, though

๋࣭⭑⚝ also, if you can find a way to save enzo, please do! whether he's her endgame or not

๋࣭⭑⚝ you can add an oc, if you do i was thinking it's been a love interest for bonnie maybe? i hadn't gotten that far - also, you wouldn't have to introduce them until later. i can also help brainstorm ideas for another oc

i'm not exactly sure when, so that's completely up to you and when it feels right for her character and the plot

๋࣭⭑⚝ she and her mom fight often, mostly because of the company she keeps and the fact that she's been a little off the rails since her dad left

๋࣭⭑⚝ i feel like she would get along with the originals fairly well, but when push comes to shove she always choses her friends and family

๋࣭⭑⚝ she could possibly get back into cheerleading when she gets back to feeling like her old self

๋࣭⭑⚝ caroline and tyler can still happen, and emma would be jealous and not all for it to begin with but she eventually comes to terms with it. she would even threaten tyler on caroline's behalf

๋࣭⭑⚝ try not to steal caroline's storyline completely, especially when it comes to klaus. emma and klaus could be friendly but his affection / interest would mostly be in caroline. though, at first he could confuse the two

๋࣭⭑⚝ she would spiral a little after vicki dies ( she can either know that she's dead or she doesn't find out until later, up to you ) but after she disappears for a few days, she comes back with a resolution to be better and she starts to actually heal

๋࣭⭑⚝ she and stefan could be friends, and talking to him could be one of the reasons she starts to heal and to get better

๋࣭⭑⚝ in season one, she is very much convinced that she's broken beyond repair, her heart, her soul, and her spirit. she numbs the pain with weed and alcohol

๋࣭⭑⚝ emma loves a good party, she's always right there in the middle of the dance floor swaying to the music

๋࣭⭑⚝ if you want, you can change this from her being caroline's twin to her just being her younger sister or something

๋࣭⭑⚝ i do have a couple chapters written, if you wanna read them to get a sense of the relationships but you totally don't have use them it follow them at all. i just figure, maybe they can help
