Chapter 53

"Squid!.. you don't wanna eat with us?" Gou calls you, worried and concern screams on her face. She found you just sitting beside a tree ever since lunch started.

You looked at her and forced a smile, "No.. I don't feel well." you admitted and she pouts at you causing her to also sit beside you.

She holds your wrist with both of her hands while staring at you. "C'mon squid.. rumors are just rumors. They are not true and they're just fake nonsense. Don't let it get in your head."

Your expression didn't change. "I'm sorry.. I just don't feel like it."

Gou didn't gave up and leans her face more closer to yours with her best puppy eyes. "Open up to me! I'm all ears! If it makes you feel better telling me your problem, I could help you squid! I promise!"

A smile twitches on your lips, this woman never changes at all. It took you a moment before replying her. "Okay.. fine." you finally said and her eyes sparkled to you.

She opened her mouth to say something but you spoke first. "But, you eat first." you told her and she frowns at you miserably.

"I say you should eat too, squid!" she crosses her arms at you and you stubbornly shake your head. "Just go, Gou-chan. I'm fine and full, you are probably not so eat already in the canteen."

Gou dramatically sighs and finally stood up from the ground, she starts walking away while saying, "Okay, okay squid. But I'm going to call someone for you!"

Your eyes enlarges, you shout back at her; "You don't need to! Just go and leave me alone! You-"

You sighed in disbelief as she ran away. "I just wanted some peace and quiet.. I just want to be alone right now. I don't feel like myself! Ugh! This is so stressful!-"

Without even moving, you heard footsteps arousing towards you. You lifted your head but your eyes were still on the ground. "Gou-chan, I told you to eat, why didn't you-"

As you opened your eyes, you saw- "R-Runa-san?!.." your voice trembles. Now that's what you call embarrasment.

He grins at you and sits besides you with a plastic on his on hand. "You're really stupid, (Y/n)."

"W..What?" your voice squeaks, it feels so weird seeing Runa randomly sitting beside you. "Wait.. why are you here? How did you-"

He places down the plastic on his hands and brings out a box out from it. "Your female friend asked me to come here to bring you your lunch. You can't just starve to death, (Y/n)."

"I knew it!.. that woman is gonna taste my fists!--" your thoughts were distracted as you saw a spoon with food ontop of it infront of your lips.

Runa was holding the spoon while saying "Say ah~", you suddenly felt your cheeks waving a red hot tinted color all over your face, tingles went in your stomach. "W-What is this feeling?!!?!?--"

"(Y/n), if you still don't open your mouth in three seconds. Don't make me do something illegal to you." Runa demands, he looked serious now.

You pouted at him. Sure, you didn't wanna eat but your stomach is starving so bad already. Not to mention the butterflies inside it is worse!-

"Three." he halts.

Your eyes widens as you heard him speak. "I-I can eat it myself, Runa-san! You don't need to-"

Without you even knowing, he starts tickling the side of your hips and you can't stop giggling and laughing over it. "S-Stop! This is wrong! I'm gonna kill you!--"

When he had the chance, he finally let you eat the food on the spoon he was holding.

You stopped laughing as you tasted food on your mouth, you chewed it and glared at Runa with a nasty frown. He leans towards you and smirks, "You're gonna kill me?

You turned your head away to the other direction in annoyance. "This man is getting in my nerves!"

When school was over, Gou ran up to you and patted your head.

"So! Did you eat lunch? I heard Runa-san feeded you! I should have watched! You guys look super cute--" as she was realizing what was she was about to say, she sheepishly giggles.

"I-I mean, you guys looked like best-friends!" she replaces her words and forced herself to laugh.

Then out of the glimpse of your eyes, you saw a man's figure near Gou's back. It was Haruka, and he didn't look good at all. He was staring at your soul.

Your eyes shakes in fear. "D-Did he heard this woman!? Oh sh--" you snapped yourself out of from your thoughts and quickly bowed down to Gou.

"T-Thank you for what you have done today!.. I-I'll take my leave because.. u-uhm.. because I have something important to do!" you embarrasingly excused yourself and start walking away.

Gou looks at you in confusion, she seemed like she wanted to laugh but at the same time she wanted to pause herself and process in her braincells what just happened.

Instead, she smiles at your back and says, "You're welcome squiddo! Good night!"

As you were now all alone on the streets, walking alone with the cold wind waving you out. You sighed in relief. "I can finally go home and relax. Seeing a scary-looking Haruka today is just so-"

"(Y/n)." a deep, familiar voice spoke.

You knew who it was as you turned your head at your back. It was Haruka, again. You blinked first a few times before moving again- checking whether this is just an illusion or not.

His expression wasn't alright, its not what you normally see everyday and its tearing you out. It iust screams bad news for you.

You started feeling afraid which wasn't normal at all. "Nope. Its definitely him, not an illusion. Crap! I'm going to die now! Help! Someone!--"

When you were about to ran away from him until you felt his arms around you again. You gasped as you felt his warm existence towering you down just like last time.

His chin was on your shoulder and he tightens his hug on you as if, if he lets you go right now, you'll just disappear and fade forever in his life.

You were about to break the hug because you coudn't catch your breath properly until you felt a wet feeling on your shoulder. He was crying.

"I'm sorry I didn't came when you needed me. Instead.. my brother did.." his voice trembles and you had no idea what to do.

It was such a short thing for you but he makes it sound like its a big problem. To cut it short- he is really concerned about you in such a tiny, simple thing. He cares about you a lot.

You hugged him back with a smile on your lips, he still acts like a child when he is already all grown up now. "You seriously don't need to do this, water-addict. Its not your fault anyways." you softly said.

He breaks the hug and looks at you in the eye. Your heart pounded faster and faster, his eyes was so teary that you can't help but feel so soft like you were about to melt any moment now.

"Haru, Haru, Haru. Don't cry because I'll cry too if you don't stop." you grinned at him while wiping his small droplets of tears using one of your fingers. "Now your eyes looks exactly like the ocean-"

He quickly pecks your lips and your cheek then lifts you up bridal-style on his arms. You gasped at his unexpected movement, "W-What are you?!--"

"What do you think I'm doing, Miss Nanase? Carrying you to your house, of course." he says as he starts walking on the streets.

Your heart stumbled and fluttered. "Miss Nanase?!.. why did he say that?!"

You took a deep breath and started pinching his face. He scrunches his nose in pain, "Ouch! Will you stop! I will drop you if you-"

"Stop treating me so well or I'll rip your face off."

"What's so wrong with treating you so nicely? You should be thankful, actually."

"Ya, ya, ya. Its always what you say, water addict."
