You scratched your nape as you watch your father do something in the living room, "Dad, I don't understand why you need to create ten cards for mother." you babbled as you walked towards him and sat down beside him.

The thing is, since your mother was still unfortunately at the hospital, you were always alone by yourself at home when Haruka or the others are busy doing something else, or your father is at work.

Since its practically also the weekend, your father decided to stay at home when usually he has is own apartment that he mostly stays since its nearer at his working-place. Guess he just missed his daughter that much.

Leaning at his works, you held one card and open it. And by surprise, it showed a glued picture of you, him and your mother altogether united in the image.

A wide smile appeared slowly on your lips causing you to chuckle lightly and squint. "Isn't that just adorable.." you muttered and your father embarrasingly laughs.

You took another card and opened it, and this time it was an old picture of you when you were just a baby of three to four years old. You nudged playfully his arm.

"Seriously?" you burst out of laughter. You stared at the picture that was a little you with peanut butter on your mouth, hands- literally everywhere on you and you seemed to enjoy doing it back then since you were smiling in the image.

Your father glanced at picture and sweetly smiled, "Now, thats more adorable." he says and looks at you. "But, I'm not actually going to give that to your mom."

A belwildered emotion hovered your entire face, you lifted a brow at him with a smirk. "Don't tell me that you're going to keep this all by yourself?-"

He shooks his head and laughs at your idea, "As much as I really want to do that, but no, I'm giving that to someone else who I think he'll love it eventually."

Your eyes widens like saucers. Then you softly bursted out small giggles at him, thinking that he'll rather give it to Haruka. "W-What?!"

"I mean I'm not sure if this boy of yours in the picture of my mind of his face is correct but hopefully its him." he says which made you roll your orbs and smile again.

"I can't believe my dad literally just created a card for Haru-kun!" your thoughts really coudn't move on at all at the simple topic of your father and the card he made that he is going to give to Haruka.

Something in you vibrated and you realized it was your phone at your black-denim shorts pockets. You opened it by clicking he home screen and saw a notification from the group chat of 'The Swimming Club'.

You quickly stood up from the sofa and glided your way outside the house, but before that, you peaked your head and looked at your busy father. "Hey, dad." you called.

He lifts his brows together but his eyes was still glued onto his working hands, he looked so entirely focus making you laugh at him. "I'm just going to answer my friends', okay?" you say and he just nodded. "Be safe, squiddo."

You closed the door, that nickname will never get old.

You opened the group chat and saw 99+ notifications already. "The hell? I just saw like one or three messages earlier and after one minute, its one hundred?!"

After turning off your phone by clicking the power on-and-off button, a sudden familiar figure walking by caught your eye. You realized its scarlet boy.

He looked so peaceful while walking with his earphones on and just scrolling on his phone screen. You called, "RIN-KUN! HELLO!"

Even when music was playing in his ears, in one second after, he turned his head at you and later on smiled at the sight of you waving at him.

You patted the vacant spot beside you and moved a bit for him to sit on, he sat and nuzzled his hands on your hair appearing it to be messier-looking. "Hey, squid."

"How's your wounds and scars?" you ask out-of-the-blue, still concerned after the past weeks now. He only shifted his head and eye contact away with his smile fading once bit, "Its not as bad anymore, I guess.."

You realized he didn't like the topic since it reminded him of the past so you rather felt already guilty. Switching topics, you say, "I heard that the prefectural tournament is cancelled and would be moved in march, next month."

He nods and his gaze shifts onto your eyes again, his maroon eyes deeply made you paranoid for some reason, the eyes glinting the color. "Yeah, its true. I have no clue why though, normally tournaments like those always starts at January."

"Well, I guess there's a first time for everything."

"I guess so.. too."

A string of silence hovered you both, your eyes never removed on his face, you were admiring every single inch about him. And for some reason, it felt really wrong.

He suddenly cutted the string and took something out from his back- a bouquet of roses!

"I know its late for this but.. happy valentines day, squid." he says and gives you the bouquet with his adorable shark teeth showing. Your smile widens up to your ears causing you to squint your eyes.

"N-No way!" you say as you held gently the bouquet with your bright smile glued sternly still on your face. You couldn't be anymore happier. "Happy valentines day to you too!" you replied, still smiling.

This moments made you feel so much euphoria, its making you fangirl so much and you really had no idea why. Guessing its just your first time getting flowers from a guy.

"Oh, there you are, squiddie-"

The near voice you heard made you shift your head, and as you saw the person, you widened your eyes. "..Haruka! How are you doing, buddy?"
