Chapter 18

The whole night flew by like a bird just flying on an ash sky in one or two meters. The fastest moments are sometimes the best ones.

You and the others played a lot of different kinds of awesome games, it was pretty fun since you had good reflexes and you kept on winning like a champion in every game.

"I can't believe I'm just beaten by a squid." Makoto muffles while proudly looking at you.

You grinned at him and let out a soft chuckle, "I can't believe I just won and beated Makdonalds."

He gently nudges your shoulder, his proud encouraging smile fades and gets quickly replaced with an annoyed frown. "Hey now, don't make me curse, its a special day today."

Laughing mentally, you just simply chuckled more at him and continously nudges his shoulder. As if you were his little annoying sister.

Gou came running to you with a prize on her hands. "Here you go, (Y/n)-chan! Congrats!"

You smiled and accepted the prize, impatience started pouring so you just opened the prize that was wrapped all perfectly into one piece, sadly you needed it to be ripped off.

A big gasp followed, you covered your mouth in shockness. On your palms, you were holding a stuff-toy squid with your name written big on the side of it. "K-K-Kawaii!!!!~" you bubbly say.

"Oh, and by the way, thats actually a gift from Rin-kun!" Gou adds while smiling at my sudden reaction.

Your head turns to Rin, he noticed and just playfully smirked. "Liking my present, huh?"

Grinning hardly that you almost felt your teeth chattering, you say; "What do you expect sharky boy? How could I not like this?" you waved the stuff-toy on the air, you were really happy recieving this.

Rin just smiled in return to your two questions. His shark-like teeth is so peculiar nowadays, Gou is lucky to have such an older brother like him.

You beamed, "There's your exchange gift from me sharky-boy!" you pointed on an area near where you are sitting on awhile ago.

He follows what you instructed and soonly opens the gift. He grins, seeing a cute stuff-toy shark in the box. "How smart of you, squid."

"I always am, shark." you reply with a smirk.

"That reminds me.. its time for exchange gifts!!" Nagisa cheerfully and attentively says, the wind changing its vibe into a better feeling.

"What will Haruka gave you?"

"You seriously gave me an ear-protector?!?!" Nagisa mentions, making everyone else laugh except him, himself.

Gou giggles at his conclusion. "And you seriously gave me this awesome new yellow-pastel colored shirt saying 'GOU SUCKS'?!" she just laughed at Nagisa's gift to her.

Rei marched to Makoto with a gift on his palms. "Merry Christmas, Mak-chan. Hope you'll enjoy my present." he simply said with a warm smile.

Makoto smiles back and accepts the gift. After opening it slowly, his smile grew wider and he just recieved a- "My favorite and dreamed phone.." then he beamingly looks at Rei. "This is so awesome prez, you're seriously the best..(!)"

"No problem." Rei replies with a showed thumbs-up that quickly formed on his right hand to Makoto.

Before Rei leaves, Makoto calls his name with a thankful expression. "Since this gift of yours is one of the best that I have ever recieve.. this is my exchange gift for you."

"Thanks.. a lot Mak-chan(!)" Rei beams as he grabbed the gift. Opening it, he saw a pair of the most expensive, unlimited goggles where nowadays is trending for swimmers.

Rei's smile could have never been brighter. "So awesome!! I never imagined you buying this.. especially since its for me! Thank you!"

On the other hand, you were just simply relaxing your chin on you palm with fingertips supporting the position while watching happily everyone with the exchange gifts.

You didn't even realize that Haruka was calling your name. "(Y/n)."

"Oh, right! I forgot Haruka has a gift for me as well! I better give mine first, hah, take that water addict!" you quickly gave him your wrapped up exchange gift for him. "Please take this!"

He pauses first for a second. "Thanks.." he says as the gift was finally on his hands. You were waiting for him to open it but all he did was stare at the box.

"This is a sweater.. right?" he points at the wrapped gift infront of him.

Gulping down your throat, your face full of surprise asks; "How did you know?!" He shortly grins, "Your mother told me."

"I should've known.. wait, isn't he going to give me his gift for me now..?-"

"Follow me, squid." he says to you as he stands up on his chair and exits the room. You did what you were told.

"Where are we going, Haru-kun..?"

"You'll see." he simply replies.

You can feel that his nervous about something, and that made you confuse. What's needed to be so nervous about?.. is it his gift? Any gift will do for you, your not a picky person anyways.

After approximately for like eleven minutes of walking that seemed like forever. You found yourself sitting on the grass beside Haruka, with your arms wrapped on your knees.

The two of you was just watching the view of the dark night sky with a bright, white moon appearing between the water on the ocean. It was beautiful.

"Squid." he calls again but keeps avoiding from meeting your eyes. "I have something to tell you that I have been wanting to confess for awhile."

Your eyes lits up, confess? What's there to confess?

"Its going to be really cringy, I'm telling you that in advance now but.."

His words trailed off for a second, you can tell your heart was beating so fast that you could hardly even breathe.

"I like you."

"W-Wha-"

"No, scratch that. I love you."

You coudn't feel your heart beating anymore, as if it stopped just like that after hearing Haruka's words. The amount of the red color on your skin and feeling your feeling right now explains on how much you realize that.. you felt the same way.

You were about to say something until he interrupts and speaks first; "Okay, before you reject and say that this is really cliché like every other story out there.."

He continues, "(Y/n), you'll always be the number one who snatched my heart."

Words can't explain on how much this moment is the happiest you experienced. You hugged him into a tight one and grin with tears falling already. "I-I feel the same.. I love you too."

Before you know it, the two of you were already kissing. His soft lips touches yours like feather.
