Evelyn Sommers had three true loves in her life.
The first is iced coffee. Especially if it was vanilla with brown sugar syrup. She would kill someone for her favorite coffee.
The second is brownies. Brownies have been her favorite dessert and food since she first had one when she was three. She might have a tiny obsession but she truly didn't care.
The third and most important was sleep. Sleep was Evelyn Sommers's truest love. If there was a way to sleep and get paid she would do it in a heartbeat.
This explains perfectly why she was running around her room after snoozing her alarms a few too many times.
"I'm going to be late!" Evelyn huffs out as she looks around her room for her favorite pair of booties to wear for the first day of junior year.
And her first official day at Mystic Falls High School.
Evelyn and Jenna Sommers had lived closer to Whitmore College where Jenna was finishing her masters in Psychology. Evelyn ended up going to school there all her life but every summer the two were in Mystic Falls with family until the accident occurred in May.
After that Evelyn and Jenna packed up all their belongings and moved back home to Mystic Falls. Jenna moved into Miranda and Grayson's old room while Evelyn moved into the guest room.
Sliding on her brown booties that went with the olive green shirt she had on with the pair of jeans Evelyn hurries towards her bedroom door before pausing as she felt her neck.
Rushing back to her dresser the strawberry blonde grabbed the single necklace that was sitting on her dresser.
It was a gift from her Dad when she was younger. It was a golden half-crescent moon. She knew she shouldn't wear it anymore but it was her comfort necklace.
Not wearing it every day felt weird to her. As if she was missing something, and even if her Dad left the necklace felt like a part of her Dad was still with her.
Heading towards her door with a shake of her head Evelyn hurriedly down the stairs two steps at a time and just as she got to the bottom Evelyn spotted her Mom rushing towards the door.
"I'm so late! Love you Evie have a good first day!" Jenna yells as she runs out the door Evelyn chuckles waving at her before heading towards the kitchen.
"Where is she off to in a hurry?" Evelyn questions looking at her two cousins who smile slightly at her before Evelyn notices the cup of coffee in Jeremy's making her take it from as Elena smirks and Jermey glares at her.
"Running late for her meeting with her thesis advisor," Elena answers as Evelyn nods her head.
"You ready for your first day?" Elena questions as she hands Jermey another mug who looks surprised but nods at Elena who smiles at him.
"I'm nervous actually," Evelyn tells her as she takes another sip of her coffee.
"Why?" Jeremy questions confused looking at his cousin.
"You know all these people. You grew up with all of them. You only changed from a school you hated to one where everyone knows you. Girls are so weird," Jeremy says shaking his head as she walks away making Elena and Evelyn stare at each other.
"I'll be in the car," Jermey tells Evelyn leaving the house making Elena and Evelyn bust out laughing as they shake their heads.
Once they calm down Evelyn looks at Elena worriedly as they sit their mugs in the sink.
"Are you okay? And don't lie Elena Gilbert," Evelyn says pointing her finger at Elena who sighs at that.
"I will be," Elena tells her making Evelyn squeeze her hand with a small smile on her face.
"I'll get you some coffee and a treat," Evelyn tells Elena kissing her cheek before leaving the house already knowing Bonnie was taking Elena to school.
"Thank you!" Elena calls out to her cousin who winks at her smiling before heading out the door and towards her car.
Getting in the passenger seat Evelyn connects her phone to the Bluetooth as Taylor Swift begins playing making Jeremy roll his eyes.
"Don't lie you are a Swiftie! You probably know as many of her songs as I do," Evelyn tells Jeremy who looks at her glaringly.
"Because you Jenna and Elena force me to listen to her," Jeremy says shaking his head as Evelyn chuckles.
"I need some guy friends," Jermey mutters making Evelyn laugh even harder at him.
"Would your guy friends take you to get coffee and a treat before school?" Evelyn asks her baby cousin who side eyes her before sighing making Evelyn laugh at him as she begins driving towards town.

After getting their coffees and muffins Evelyn pulls up at the high school. The moment Evelyn puts the car in park Jermey jumps out.
"Why? Why do I do this to myself every time?!" Jeremy exclaims glaring at Evelyn who rolls her eyes at him getting her coffee out of the cup holder.
"Stop being a baby. I had to slam on breaks! There was a baby turtle in the road!" Evelyn exclaims to Jeremy who shakes his head before walking off.
"Love you too!" Evelyn calls out to him before opening the back door grabbing her bag getting the cup holder her coffee and then the bag of blueberry muffins.
Shutting the door and locking it Evelyn begins walking towards the entrance of the school smiling softly at everyone.
Walking in looking for the three girls she was looking for Evelyn smiled seeing them all together.
"Who is your favorite redhead?" Evelyn questions the three making them turn to and sign in relief.
"Definitely you," Bonnie tells the girl taking her coffee as Evelyn smiles brightly.
"Marry me?" Caroline questions Evelyn who smirks at her winking.
"Uhm of course! We have our June Wedding planned already!" Evelyn tells Caroline who laughs taking her coffee as Elena looks in the bag for her muffin.
"You are my favorite person in the world," Elena tells Evelyn who laughs throwing away the container as she begins sipping her coffee.
"Come on Eve you have to go to the office before heading to class," Caroline tells Evelyn who nods kissing Bonnie's cheek and Elena's.
"See you both in ugh Tanner's,' Evelyn tells the two who laugh nodding their heads.
"Bye!" Bonnie says waving at the two who smile at their splitting their blueberry muffin while walking down the hallway.
"There's another new student," Caroline informs Evelyn who looks at her surprised.
"Here? In Mystic Falls? Why?" Evelyn questions Caroline who laughs at her shaking her head.
"Says the other new student," Caroline says making Evelyn push her as the two laugh heading towards the office.
Laughing at Caroline Evelyn goes to step into the office before running into what she would describe as a human-sized wall.
As Evelyn stumbles back almost dropping her coffee a hand slides around her waist pulling her closer as the other grabs her waist to stop her from dropping the coffee.
Looking up Evelyn's eyes snap to a pair of vivid forest green eyes that stare straight into hers.
"You- you saved my coffee," Evelyn whispers as Mr.Forest Greens smile down at her.
"Seemed like something that needed to be saved," he tells her as Evelyn chuckles shaking her head.
"Definitely. You must be the other new student," Evelyn says stepping back slightly as he nods at her.
"You're new as well?" He asks her as Evelyn shrugs.
"You newish. More like returning. I'm Evelyn," Evelyn says holding her hand out as he smiles at her shaking her head.
"Stefan," Stefan tells her as Evelyn smiles at him and he smiles back at her before a throat is cleared making the two jump back and turn to see Caroline watching them with a smile on her face.
"And I'm Caroline," Caroline says as Evelyn laughs her face turning bright red from her blush.
"That's my best friend. Do you need help finding any classes?" Evelyn questions him as Stefan smiles at her.
"I got a tour so I think I know where to go but thank you for the offer. Nice to meet you, Evelyn," Stefan tells her as Evelyn smiles at him before he looks at her Caroline.
"You too Caroline," Stefan says before walking out of the office as Evelyn and Caroline watch him go.
"He has a Captain American ass," Caroline says making Evelyn bust out laughing as they walk into the office.

In the history class also known as everyone's least favorite class due to asshole Tanner, Evelyn sits beside Elena with Bonnie behind them. The two cousins secretly texted along with Bonnie as they blocked out Tanner.
"Once our home state of Virginia joined the confederacy in 1861, it created a tremendous amount of tension within the state. People in Virginia's northwest region had different ideals than those from the traditional deep south. Then Virginia divided in 1863 with the northwest region joining the union," Tanner says as Evelyn looks at Elena who was staring at the new student Stefan.

Hawt-e staring @ Elena
Elena looks at Stefan as Evelyn smiles slightly before the brunette looks back to the front looking down at her phone.
Lena π
Shut you!
Evelyn chuckles at her cousin before facing the front not wanting to get yelled out by Tanner this morning. Especially before she finished her coffee that was heroically saved.

After school, Evelyn drives with Jeremy to the grill. Evelyn sits at a table with Caroline drinking milkshakes as they split a plate of mozzarella sticks.
"So what did you find out regarding Stefan?" Evelyn questions Caroline knowing if anyone knew anything about the name boy Caroline would. Caroline smirks at her brightly as she leans closer making Evelyn shake her head at her.
"His name is Stefan Salvatore. He lives with his uncle up at the old Salvatore Boarding House. He hasn't lived here since he was a kid. Military family, so they moved around a lot. He's a Gemini, and his favorite color is blue," Caroline tells Evelyn who laughs at her amused with her best friend.
"I'm planning your June wedding to him already," Caroline tells Evelyn who looks at her offended.
"Shut up!" Evelyn says laughing as she shakes her head at Caroline who leans closer to her.
"Hey he might be your most epic love," Caroline says placing her hand on her chest as Evelyn shakes her head.
"Definitely not. From what I saw today I think that he will be Elena's," Evelyn tells her chuckling making Caroline groan just as Tyler walks up to the group.
"There's my favorite baby cousin," Tyler says leaning closer and kissing the top of Evelyn's head who looks towards him smiling with a slight roll of her eyes.
"I'm older than you," Evelyn tells Tyler who is staring at her before he begins smirking.
"But not taller," Tyler tells her amused making Evelyn get up and begin to slap his chest.
"Ouch! That hurts! Evie!" Tyler exclaims trying to get away as Caroline laughs loudly at the boy's misfortune.
"Ooh, what did Tyler do this time?" Bonnie questions coming to sit beside Caroline who had her phone out videoing.
"Made fun of Eve's height," Caroline informs Bonnie who wince laughing at the two cousins. Tyler now had Evelyn in a headlock who bites his arm making him let go of her.
The two were basically siblings at times rather than cousins. Even if Mason wasn't in Evelyn's life it didn't mean the other Lockwoods were. Well, Carol was sort of family while Richard was just Richard. But Tyler was Evelyn's family.
It was a bit awkward and annoying right now due to Jeremy and Tyler's feud due to Vicki Donovan but that didn't stop Evelyn from being the one person the two both always vented to.
Jeremy either came to her room lying on her bed or Tyler called her or showed up at the Gilbert house walking straight in as Jenna asked him if he wanted something to eat.
Caroline seeing Matt coming to sit beside Bonnie got up to go break up the two.
"Alright, you two. Come on let's go get some brownies," Caroline tells the two who pull apart looking at Caroline.
"Definitely," the two tell Caroline who laughs at them heading towards the bar before they go to play pool.
"Lockwood and their need for brownies," Caroline mutters shaking her head making the two cousins flip her off while Caroline smiles at them.
βββββββββββββββββ
Evelyn cheers loudly as she fist pumps beating Tyler at the pool table once again as the boy rolls his eyes.
"You cheated," Tyler accuses making Evelyn scoff at him.
"How? You are just terrible," Evelyn tells Tyler who glares at her before something takes his attention behind him.
"Ooh," Tyler says making Evelyn turn around only to see Elena entering with Stefan.
"Ooh," Evelyn whispers wide-eyed as Tyler watches her slightly before looking at the pair that just walked in seeing Stefan looking at Evelyn who smiles slightly at him before he turns his attention to Matt that was walking towards him.
Stefan shakes his head as they smile at him making Tyler lean closer to Evelyn.
"I would have punched him," Tyler tells Evelyn who laughs at him shaking her head.
"Of course you would," Evelyn says rolling her eyes as Caroline walks up to the pair pulling Evelyn towards the table Bonnie Stefan and Evelyn now sat at.
"Bye I guess," Evelyn shrugs waving at the boy before sitting down at the table beside Stefan.
"Evelyn," Stefan greets her as Evelyn smiles at him.
"You can call me Evie everyone does," Evelyn tells Stefan who smiles at her as Elena looks between the two.
"You two meet today?" Elena questions as Evelyn nods.
"When I had to go sign that paperwork this morning in the office we meet," Evelyn tells Elena who nods at her smiling at her cousin who was more like her sister than anything.
"So, you were born in Mystic Falls?" Caroline questions turning towards Stefan as Evelyn shakes her head already knowing this was coming.
"Mm-Hmm. And moved when I was still young," Stefan tells her nodding his head.
"Parents?" Bonnie questions the boy who looks sad at that.
"My parents passed away," Stefan says making Evelyn look at him sadly.
"I'm sorry. Any siblings?" Elena questions the boy.
"None that I talk to. I live with my uncle," Stefan says looking towards Elena.
"So, Stefan, if you're new, then you don't know about the party tomorrow," Caroline tells the boy with a bright smile as Stefan looks confused.
"It's a back-to-school thing at the falls," Bonnie tells Stefan as Evelyn shakes her head.
"No, it's a thing that allows teenagers to get drunk one last time before school truly starts. Although football Fridays is also a reason for that," Evelyn says pointing at Stefan who laughs at her before looking at Elena.
"Are you going?" Stefan questions Elena who looks at a loss for words at that.
"Of course she is," Bonnie tells him smiling brightly as Elena blushes Evelyn smiles at her cousin as Caroline looks at Evelyn and then Stefan before leaning back in her seat.
βββββββββββββββββ
The next day standing in her bedroom with Caroline Evelyn recalls what happened in Tanner's class today. How Stefan put Tanner in her place and Evelyn was laughing so hard due to Tanner's face that she fell out of her chair and got detention.
Evelyn had to tell her Mom who just stared at her before laughing saying only her daughter would do that and get detention on the first week of school before walking away laughing. Evelyn determined that her Mom wasn't angry at all but more amused than anything.
"It was the highlight of my year," Evelyn tells Caroline as she smoothes her hand over a long-sleeved brown sweater with her jeans and boots. Finishing her assessment Evelyn turns to Caroline who nods at her.
"Alright! Let's go!" Caroline cheers making Evelyn nod as she laughs heading out of the room and towards the stairs.
"Bye, Mom! We are leaving," Evelyn calls out to Jenna who sits at the dining room table doing her homework. Jenna looks up seeing the two girls before pointing her pen at them.
"If either of you drinks call me and I'll pick you up. Neither of you drive drunk I'll find out you two did and I will ground you both," Jenna threatens making Evelyn and Caroline stare at each other.
"I'll have Liz put you two in a holding cell overnight," Jenna threatens as the two girls immediately nod. They knew Jenna would and Liz would agree right away.
"Good. Now I love you two," Jenna says as the two smile at her.
"We love you too!" Evelyn and Caroline tell her before turning around and walking out of the house towards Evelyn's car.
βββββββββββββββββ
Arriving at the bonfire Caroline went to get a drink as Evelyn searched for water. She was the DD for the night. The two girls usually switched off and tonight was Evie's night.
As Evelyn finally found one she reached down to grab it just in time to see Bonnie walking off quickly as it scared. Grabbing the water Evelyn follows after the Bennett worriedly.
"Bon! Bonnie!" Evelyn calls after the girl who turns around looking at her with a shaken expression.
"What's wrong?" Evelyn questions her as she places her hand on her elbow rubbing it smoothing. Bonnie stares at her for a moment making Evelyn worried as she shakes her slightly.
Coming out of her spaced-out moment Bonnie stumbles back staring at Evelyn.
"Bonnie...what's wrong? What just happened? Never mind that drink this," Evelyn says handing Bonnie her bottle of water.
Bonnie nods removing the cap and taking a few sips as Evelyn leads her to the stump letting Bonnie sit down while Evelyn squats down in front of her.
"Are you okay?" Evelyn questions Bonnie after a moment making her nod.
"Yeah. Yeah, I'm okay it was just weird," Bonnie explains to Evelyn who tilts her head worriedly.
"When I touched you, I saw a wolf," Bonnie tells Evelyn who looks at her confused.
"A what?" Evelyn questions softly staring at the girl.
"There was a wolf. Fog. And a man no I think two. I don't know it was just weird," Bonnie tells Evelyn who hesitates but places her hand on her arms rubbing them to calm her nerves.
"It might just be alcohol and everything. Do you want me to drive you home?" Evelyn questions Bonnie who looks at her before shaking her head.
"Bon...," Evelyn says softly making Bonnie look at her before nodding.
"Alright come on. I just have to get Care," Evelyn tells her as she helps Bonnie stand up.
"I'm sorry," Bonnie tells Evelyn who waves off her concern.
"Nothing to be sorry about. We all have off weird
nights," Evelyn tells Bonnie who smiles at her as they see Caroline with slight tears in her eyes.
"Come on. Let's go," Evelyn tells the two wrapping her arms around the two and pulling them towards her car the two girls lean into Evelyn who smiles at them sadly not noticing the two pairs of eyes watching her move.
βββββββββββββββββ
Evelyn Bonnie and Caroline sat in the living room surrounded by ice cream and brownies while watching Mean Girls.
Jenna walks towards the three with her keys in hand. When the three arrived and Evelyn told her Mom they were having a girl's night Jenna didn't question. She was used to the two girls being around.
"Hey, I have to go pick up Elena and Jeremy," Jenna tells the three making them look at her.
"Are they okay?" Evelyn questions her worriedly. She texted the two when she got in the car that the three were leaving and her cousins said they would stay.
"Yeah. Yeah, they are," Jenna says smiling softly at her daughter before rushing out of the house. Evelyn looks towards Bonnie and Caroline who are practically asleep.
"Alright. Come on you two," Evelyn says getting up and pulling the two up and towards her room as they groan.
Heading towards the Sommers girl room Bonnie and Caroline crush on her bed as Evelyn shakes her head before she walks towards her bathroom to take a quick shower before putting her pajamas back on.
Pulling her up in a low ponytail with a scrunch Evelyn leaves the bathroom to see Bonnie and Caroline sound asleep with no room left for her in her bed.
Heading downstairs to see if her Mom was back Evelyn stopped seeing Jeremy sitting on the couch with a picture of the framed picture of his parents in his hands.
Walking towards him Evelyn sits beside Jeremy who lays his head on her shoulder.
"I miss them," Jeremy tells Evelyn who nods looking at the picture.
"Me too. It feels so...weird, especially today. When I woke up for a second I was expecting some of Uncle Grayson's pancakes," Evelyn whispers to her cousin who nods his head.
"Mom driving us to school and listening to whatever song she played. Usually-," Jeremy begins to say as Evelyn laughs.
"Bon Jovi," Evelyn and Jeremy both say laughing slightly.
"How are you so okay?" Jeremy questions Evelyn who pauses at that.
"I think I just have gotten good at pretending," Evelyn tells Jeremy as she lays her head on his shoulder
"Sleepover tonight?" Jeremy questions Evelyn who nods at him.
"Definitely," Evelyn tells him smiling slightly neither noticing Jenna watching the two with slight tears in her eyes.
