1.2 | First Day Jitters

Jasmine woke up early in the morning for her first official day at Beacon Hills High School. Jordan had fussed over making sure she ate enough for breakfast along with placing a few different pregnancy supplements in front of her, she watched and listened as her older cousin rambled on about the things she needed for the baby and such. "How many of these books do you have?" Jasmine asked as she reached out and pulled a couple of them closer to her, she laughed softly to herself. "I may have gotten a few of them. I promise to be by your side through all of this," Jordan told her, he smiled softly as Jasmine looked up at him with teary eyes; the support was something she'd never thought she'd have.
"Thank you, Jordy. This means so damn much to me," Jasmine told her as she got up and hugged him, he smiled as he hugged her back. "Always here for you," Jordan whispered before kissing the side of her head, they pulled away and Jasmine began fiddling with her fingers. "Also, I spoke with Melissa about organising check ups at important points in your term," Jordan added making Jasmine tilt her head. "Who is Melissa?" Jasmine questioned softly. "She's a nurse at the hospital," Jordan answered before turning to look at her, "You know the boys you met at the station yesterday?" Jasmine nodded prompting Jordan to continue, "Well, Scott is Melissa's son." Jasmine made an 'O' sound with a smile.
"You can use my car to drive as I've got the patrol car," Jordan told her, he held out the keys before stopping, "Wait, you have your licence, right?" Jasmine nodded and showed him as proof, "Had since I was fifteen, Jordy. Just didn't have a car of my own." Jordan laughed and dropped his keys into her palm, "We'll look into that at a later date then." Jasmine nodded in acceptance of that, he had already done so much for her that she couldn't dare to push for more. "Alright, I better get to school," Jasmine said as she grabbed her things, she readjusted the babydoll dress she was wearing along with the leather jacket, "Got a good impression to make before rumours destroy it."

Nerves flooded Jasmine's body as she parked out the front of Beacon High, she sat for a moment watching as people walked by with their friends or partners laughing and talking about whatever was on their minds. The brunette began picking at the skin around her nails anxiously as she took slow breaths to calm her racing heart. "This is going to be okay. You'll make friends. You'll get through this and raise a beautiful baby," Jasmine whispered to herself before she got out of the car, her bag in hand as she locked the vehicle. As Jasmine began walking towards the school, her phone began ringing pulling her attention away from the road as she searched her bag for her phone.
Due to her distraction, Jasmine didn't see the car coming towards her despite walking across a part where cars were meant to give way; the driver distracted by their phone. Just before the car could hit her, someone grabbed her waist and pulled her to safety while the driver finally hit the brakes. Jasmine's eyes were wide as she looked at the car, she turned her head to meet baby blue eyes looking back at her with worry and concern. "A-Are you okay?" The boy asked pulling Jasmine from her racing mind. "Yes. Thank you so much..." Jasmine replied as they both steadied themselves and stepped away from each other. "Liam!" A boy called out before rushing over having witnessed the scene.
"Dude! That was intense," The boy added while Liam tilted his head looking at Jasmine, he reminded her of an adorable puppy. "Liam, huh? I owe you big time for that," Jasmine told him making the boy blush lightly at the pretty girl talking to him, "I'm Jasmine. It's my first day here." The second boy grinned and looked at her, "I'm Mason, Liam's best friend. Welcome to Beacon Hills." Jasmine smiled sweetly back at him, "Thanks. Could you guys show me to the office? I don't wanna get lost." Mason went to speak but Liam cut him off, "Yeah! Sure, let's go." He gently grabbed Jasmine's hand, leading her into the school with an amused Mason trailing behind them.

Scott and Stiles were searching for Liam in hopes to talk to the boy who had been unintentionally bitten just the day before when Stiles stopped Scott. "What?" Scott questioned before following Stiles' gaze to see Liam and Mason walking out of the office with Jasmine between them, she was giggling at something that Liam had said making the boy smile widely. "That's Jasmine, right? Parrish's cousin?" Scott asked Stiles who nodded his head with a slight tilt of intrigue. "So you're gonna be a teen mom?" Mason looked at Liam with wide eyes at the question while Jasmine laughed softly. "Uh, yeah. I guess that isn't much of a secret, huh?" Jasmine replied to Liam who was rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly.
"Sorry about him, Jasmine. Liam has a foot in mouth problem," Mason assured her but she waved him off and rested her hand on Liam's shoulder when he went to apologise looking into his baby blue eyes. "It's perfectly fine, Liam. You're adorable," Jasmine told him and Scott noticed how Liam's eyes flickered golden as he blushed at Jasmine's words. "Liam, Hey!" Stiles called out, he had noticed it too. Liam turned from Jasmine to see Stiles and Scott approaching them, his eyes widened and he turned to Mason and Jasmine saying goodbye before rushing away with the two boys following behind him. "What was that about?" Mason questioned confused while Jasmine hummed with a shrug.
"We need to talk--" Scott was cut off by Liam, "No, you need to back the hell up, okay? Both of you." Liam looked between the two of them as Mason and Jasmine walked by talking like old friends. "Can you just listen for one second? Please?" Scott pleaded though his eyes had been momentarily distracted by Jasmine when she walked by, something about her seemed so alluring to him. Liam sighed and crossed his arms with a raised brow, non-verbally accepting Scott's plea. "Liam.... we're brothers now," Scott spoke making Stiles cringe uncomfortably as Liam furrowed his brows. "Oh, God, that's..." Stiles groaned with a head shake. "What are you talking about? We just met, and you bit me," Liam accused.
"The Bite... the Bite is a gift," Scott stated awkwardly, he had no idea what to really say as proven in his current words. "Scott, stop! Please, stop!" Stiles pleaded pushing Scott back and turning to Liam, "You! You... we're trying to help you, you little runt!" Liam sent him an incredulous look, "By kidnapping me!?" Stiles raised his hand in surrender, "Just to clarify, Scott kidnapped you, okay? I aided and abetted." Scott stepped forward again bringing Liam's attention back to him, "Liam, I've gone through this before. Something's happening to you-- something big." Liam scoffed angrily at his words, "Nothing's happening to me. Nothing!" He removed the bandage from his arm and revealed it to show no bite or scar before he stormed away.

"Hi!" A cheery voice startled Jasmine from her thoughts, she lifted her head to see three girls standing in front of her. "Uh, hey," Jasmine greeted the three though her eyes lingered on the strawberry blonde who was also watching her with slight sadness in her eyes. "I'm Lydia Martin. You're Jasmine, right?" Lydia asked with a polite smile, the sadness seemed to fade. "Yeah. Nice to meet you, Lydia," Jasmine replied before looking at the two girls on either side of her. "This is Malia Tate and Kira Yukimura," Lydia introduced the two before adding, "We noticed you were sitting alone and thought you'd like the company." Jasmine smiled gratefully at her words, "Oh, yeah. That's awfully sweet of you. Please."
The three girls accepted her offer to sit with her on the bleachers by the field, Jasmine had sat out there to escape the stares of people in the cafeteria. "How are you liking the school so far?" Kira asked Jasmine who shrugged. "It's alright. But school is school, I guess. No matter where you go, everyone knows something you don't want them too," Jasmine said with a sigh, she shook her head and frowned, "Are you just talking to me because of the rumours about my pregnancy?" The three girls were silent before Malia said, "Not just because you're pregnant but because you seem cool." Jasmine smiled at her words while Kira looked at the blunt teen with wide eyes. "Malia," Lydia sighed making Jasmine laugh before saying, "It's fine. Blunt is nice."
Jasmine sighed, "I am pregnant. Not a slut. Was with my boyfriend who turned out to be a deadbeat dick." The three girls laughed at that before Malia said, "That's why I prefer girls." Kira nodded in agreement with those words while Lydia laughed. "I wish I was attracted to girls more than just how gorgeous they were. It'd make life so much easier," Jasmine told them before they all began talking about random topics. Jasmine felt at peace with the girls sitting around her and it was only her first day there, she guessed she was just naturally a person that showed kindess that pulled them in. However, it was Lydia who felt a pull towards the brunette and she knew better than to walk away from the feeling in her heart; she wouldn't let her get hurt, it won't end that way again.

"I'm not sharing my basement," Malia told the others as they stood in the parking lot surrounding a car, they had left Jasmine to her book when Stiles messaged Lydia asking to meet to discuss Liam's situation. "Actually, it's my basement, and my mom noticed how you tore it up last time," Lydia replied to Malia with a slight glare. "All right, she's still learning..." Stiles defended the girl he had practically claimed as his sister. "But we're going to use the boathouse for Liam. It's got support beams, we can chain him to one of them," Scott told his pack. "But how to do we get him out to the lake house if he doesn't trust us?" Kira asked the others softly, she furrowed her brows in uncertainty.
"I say, if it keeps him from murdering someone, we chloroform the little bastard and throw him in the lake," Stiles suggested openly. "I'm in!" Malia agreeing with him immediately. "We're not killing or kidnapping him!" Scott scolded the two of them. "Then let's be smarter. We tell him there's a party and invite him," Lydia suggested to the pack. "So, you're going to ask out a freshmen?" Stiles asked her with a smirk of amusement. "No-- I'm done with teenage boys. But, if we're playing a trick on someone... why not use the trickster?" Lydia said with a smirk, everyone turned their attention to Kira who smiled sheepishly. "Who, me? No way. Not me," Kira replied shaking her head. "Yes, you! You know what they call a female fox?" Lydia asked before adding, "A vixen!"

Jasmine stood at her locker when she noticed Kira walking down the stairs catching Liam's awestruck attention until she slipped. Liam rushed forward and helped her up from the ground, Jasmine fondly laughed to herself before focusing back on her locker when someone stepped up next to her. "Hi...?" Jasmine greeted in uncertainty at the blonde standing by her side with a dark-skinned girl. "Hi, I'm Garrett. This is Violet. We're friends with Mason and Liam," Garrett greeted her with a charming smile. "Oh, it's nice to meet the two of you," Jasmine replied as she closed her locker and held her books to her chest. "Mason mentioned how sweet you were and we thought it'd be nice to make a cool new friend," Violet added with her own smile.
"That's nice of both of you. I was initially worried that I wouldn't make any friends here because, uh... well..." Jasmine trailed off and Violet placed her hand on the Jasmine's arm. "It's okay. There is no shame for the pregnancy, Jasmine. You are so strong and its very inspiring," Violet reassured her making Jasmine smile at the words. "Oh, well. Thank you for saying that," Jasmine replied as her eyes grew misty from the kind words, "I'd be happy to be a friend." Garrett and Violet smiled at her words before moving to link their arms with Jasmine's, trapping her between them as they walked down the hallway. Violet rambled on with Jasmine listening, Garrett added comments here and there.
Meanwhile, Kira was inviting Liam to a party at Lydia's lakehouse. He was eager for it and accepted her offer, the older girl nodded and told him she'd pick him up after school. Liam immediately told Mason about the party who in turn told Garrett and Violet, the two mentioned the party to Jasmine and despite it not being the most ideal environment, she accepted their offer to drive her. As the first day of school came to an end for Jasmine, she made her way out to her car and left with a smile on her face. Admittedly, Jasmine thought that her first day would drag on with judgemental stares and others avoiding her but rather, she was welcomed by many and accepted by the rest. And the party would allow her a chance to make more friends, she couldn't wait to tell Victoria and Denali about it all.
