Duryodhana's Chamber

Morning rays always brings cherrines with it. And with that the first rays of sun fell inside Duryodhana's chambers. He was still sleeping in half sitting position with Yuyutsu sound asleep on his lap. Angraj karna ever great warrior who always rise with sun was ready for the day after doing his morning prayers to Surya Narayan and Devi Ganga.

All the other princes and Ashwasthama were still sleeping in karna's chamber except duryodhana. So karna decided to look inside his friend's chambers. When he entered the room, he saw his mitra sleeping awkwardly and smiled. But when he saw some one sleeping on his friend's lap he frowned. He neared the bed and put his hand on Duryodhana's shoulder gently.

Duryodhana's warrior instincts immediately recognized karna's touch. And he smiled. His morning was already good now. And he opened his eyes. And when he realized someone sleeping on his lap and karna's raised eyebrow, he introduced Yuyutsu.

Karna smiled and carresed Yuyutsu's forehead by brotherly instinct but frowned immediately. Looking at him frowning Duryodhana too frowned and touched Yuyutsu's forehead.

Karna: Suyo he has high fever!

Duryodhana : Oh my mitra! We need to call nakul and sahdev immediately.

Karna : Okay. You keep wet strips on his forehead and I am going to call them both immediately.

And then without knowing Yuyutsu's condition further karna ran towards his chambers to call the twins.

As soon as karna entered the chamber he saw the princes were still asleep. So he decided to let rest of them sleep and wake up the twins only. But he didn't knew he was in for a huge surprise! He was shaking them for some minutes but they were not even stirring.

If the matter wasn't this serious, it would have been amusing to watch. But then he took his bow and fired Meghaastra on them. And cold water poured on all of them.

Nakul : Aaaaaa!!!! Cyclone...Cyclone...kaha aag lagi hai? Dharti fatt gayi kya?

Sahdev: Aaaaa!!!! Chor.... chor....Chor!!!! (Theif)

And with them all other princes woke up including Ashwasthama. Karna look at them in disbelief. He understood cyclone instead of tsunami for a moment because both are natural calamities but 'chor','Aag','dharti fatna'? Theif? Fire? Earth opening?Seriously sahdev?

And then all were up sahdev spoke first whinning...

Sahdev : Mitra Karna! What is this? I know you love us but this much love? Ufff! Hum toh deewane ho gaye.

He said sarcastically. And all the princes laughed.

Arjun : Tough love!
Aankhon hi Aankhon main yeh shaitani ho gayi!
Saiyaan ne dekha aise...Main pani pani hogayi.....

And again they all burst out laughing. Even karna chuckled. But became serious next moment and said

Karna : Ok. So maybe I would have not interrupted your fun if it was not serious. Rajkumar Yuyutsu has high fever. And he is in Mitra Suyo's chambers. So Mitra kul and deva you are needed there!

And hearing this all became serious. And using Varunaastra Arjun dried their clothes before running towards Duryodhana's chamber.

Ashwasthama: I am not gona bath again today.Main pehle hi bata raha hoon. Mera snan toh hogaya.

Everyone : Ashwasthamaaaa....

Duryodhana's chamber

All ran and entered the chamber. When they saw duryodhana fussing over still unconscious Yuyutsu, which Duryodhana thought was asleep, twins started to check immediately. Duryodhana gave them way but still hovered closely surrounding them.

When nakul and sahdev removed the Angvastra of Yuyutsu all gasped. Few tears escaped Duryodhana's eyes. His back was green,blue,black and red. Twins hurriedly made laip of strong herbal medicines and poured it on his back.

The wounds immediately began to get close. Now just thick red lines of criss cross patterns were present. It looked far better then before.

Sahdev: The whip marks will be gone in a day. Bhrata Suyo, it was serious. The wounds were starting to turn green. The infection could have been poisonous. And due to it only bhrata Yuyutsu is unconscious even in sleep.

Duryodhana: Last night I applied normal laip and thought he would be alright! I didn't wanted to disturb you both.

Duryodhana chocked out. Listening this Nakul went and hunged Duryodhana's shoulder.

Nakul : Bhrata Suyo! Bhrata Yuyutsu is more important than our sleep. And you could definitely have woken us up. It is also our duty towards our knowledge and family.

Karna : What happened to him?

He asked. And duryodhana described whole incident from his night walk, Yuyutsu's question to him making him sleep here with duryodhana. Everyone had tears in their eyes.

Yudhisthir: This is Adharma! Yeh toh amanavta hai. Paap hai.

Karna : How can Maharaj be so cruel?

Arjun : We will go in Rajsabha for justice.

Sahdev : If they wanted to do justice then bhrata Yuyutsu would not have been here in this place.

Nakul : You are right deva.

Bheem : How can we make it better?

Ashwasthama: Only we have to do this ourselves.

And all of them nodded.

Duryodhana: This is all my fault. I encouraged them to taunt and insult him. If I had stopped them then this would not have been a problem. I can't even be a good brother and give good morals to my 99 brothers, then how can I be a good king?

                    Every one is right. Bhrata Yudhisthir deserves the throne. Atleast he succeeded to install dharma in his brothers. I even couldn't do that. I think castism and all other orthodoxy should be changed but here my own brothers are like this! How can I change society?

Yudhisthir: No Suyo. No. Because I still am not clear about dharma. According to dharma we have to follow the rules of society. The castism,legitimate, illegimate etc. And on first my thoughts were the same for mitra karna that sut can't touch weapons. He has done Adharma.

                    But actually I was doing Adharma by judging mitra on the thing which was out of his control rather than his ability. According to dharma Yuyutsu is 'kshatta'. Son of maid. And he can never be equal to princes. And if it is right then kakashri Vidur is to that only! And he proved to be excellent at politics and in his duties! Yuyutsu himself is excellent in spear.

                 So is it not adharma if each and every major rules in society is base on your birth which is not your choice or fault! So I agree with your great thoughts Suyo.

Duryodhana smiled weakly at Yudhisthir and all others agreed thoughtfully. Karna was in deep thoughts and so was Yudhisthir. And then Yudhisthir stood up and approached karna.

Yudhisthir: Mitra karna I want to discuss something with you. And it is urgent.

Karna nodded and both went at the side for some moments.

Nakul : Bhrata Suyo. Bhrata Yuyutsu will be alright. But we have to keep him happy all times. And so his stress could be reduced and he can recover steadily.

All agreed and promised to protect each other with their life and keep each other happy.

And after some time they all freshen up in Duryodhana's chamber one by one only. And still Yuyutsu was unconscious. At the moment a servent enetered and informed.

Servent : Mahraj has odered all the Rajkumaro and Angraj and Panchalraj in sabha. It is important.

Every one had an inkling of what is to be announced. And here Duryodhana and Yudhisthir were in deep thoughts.

Nakul : You all go to sabha. I am staying with bhrata Yuyutsu.

And at that time Yuyutsu stirred and heard what nakul spoke.

Yuyutsu: No Rajkumar. It's okay. You go. I am fine.

Sahdev : Oh you are awake! Good. Aab kaisi feeling aa rahi hai babumoshai?

Everyone : Deva re Devaaa! Shut uppp!!!

Sahdev : Gazab bezzati hai yaar!

And every one burst out laughing. Even Yuyutsu. And seeing him laugh everyone sighed in relief. Especially duryodhana.

Nakul : And stop with Rajkumar bhrata. Call us Kul and deva. We are your anuj. And you can call jyestha and bhrata bheem as bhratas too. And Mitra Vasusen and Ashwasthama as Mitras.

And by that Yuyutsu was shocked. First time he got permission to call someone anuj. And especially someone called him bhrata! And he got three bhratas! Yudhisthir, Bheem and Duryodhana.Also two mitras.He beamed brightly

Yuyutsu: I am fine now. You all can go bhratas,Anujo and mitro.

And every one denied.

Girl : And not to forget you have a little sister too bhrata who is gonna stay with you.

Bheem : Dushala!

Dushala: Yes bhrata bheem.I heard about the fight from mata sugandha. She was worried about bhrata Yuyutsu. But I assured her that I will stay with him. I knew he would be in pain. Mata sugandha does not know about punishment though.

Everyone nodded. And to make the mood lighter nakul started looking at Dushala

Nakul : Aap yaha aye kis liye?

Dushala: Aap ne bulaya isliye.

Duryodhana : Aye hai toh kaam bi bataiye.

Everyone to Yuyutsu: Pehle Zara aap muskuraiye.

And Yuyutsu burst out laughing with everyone behind him in tow....

Hastinapur Raj Sabha

All the elders including Gandhar Raj Shakuni were present when all the Rajkumars entered together. Shakuni frowned not liking this. From kauravas only duryodhana was present. All princes glared at Dhritrashtra subtly while greeting. But Shakuni noticed. He didn't like it. Not for a moment. No.

Bhishma: After very keen evaluation we have decided to announce Yuvraj of Hastinapur.

Duryodhana was still sad and confused. Was he capable to control the kingdom? Was he able to make Hastinapur better?He knew if he is not announced as yuvraj then he is going to wage a war. But now he was not so sure. Ashwasthama and karna put their hands on his shoulders from either side giving him courage. He felt ready for the future ahead with them.

At other side Yudhisthir was still deep in his thoughts. Is he really ready to be Yuvraj? Does his priorities and dharma are right and settled? Suddenly he felt four hands on his shoulder and he smiled. He looked towards karna and smiled. Finally he knew what he needs to do.

Dhritrashtra: So the Yuvraj is--

Yudhisthir: Apologies to interrupt Maharaj. I am not yet ready for the responsibilities of yuvraj. So if you by any chance was considering for me to that position, I still need some time.

He declared loudly getting up from his place. All people were shocked. Especially pandavas, elders and kunti. Courtiers were murmering amongst themselves. Duryodhana sighed understandably. Gandhar Raj Shakuni was the happiest!

Shakuni : Mahrajjjj!! We can't wait for pandu putra whole life. Yuvraj needs to be announced. Please announce Mere bache Duryodhana as yuvraj.

In sugary sweet voice. Before Bhishma, Vidur or kunti could say anything Dhritrashtra beamed and started

Dhritrashtra: I Maharaj Dhritrashtra announce my son Duryodhana as Yu--

Duryodhana: Apologies to interrupt Maharaj. I too think I am still not ready for responsibilities of yuvraj. I too still need time. Me and Bhrata Yudhisthir both need some time.

And the sabha was in chaos. Both the sides which were at the edge of war regarding the throne were either not ready claimed by themselves today.

Shakuni: Mere bache! Mere bhanje! Mere hone wale samrat! Yeh kya keh rahe hon? You are not at right state of mind! Please accept yuvraj position this moment! Kuch shan bar bar nahi atte bhanje!

Karna : Yeh mama apna muh bandh kyun nahi rakh sakta. He should just keep quite.

Bheem : This is the person because of whom our zindagi barbaad hogaya.

All other with Ashwasthama excluding duryodhana and elders : Satyavachan!

Duryodhana : No Mamashri. I know what I am doing. Yesterday things happened. Due to which me and bhrata Yudhisthir are between horrends of questions and doubts within ourselves. So we need some time to clear the things out.

All the youngsters nodded understandingly.

Duryodhana to other youngsters: Aur tum log. Bhot tezz ho rahe ho be huh? Harami manus sare. Jo hai jaisa hai apan ka mama hai. Tedha hai par mera hai.

And every one of youngsters laughed including duryodhana. Which was interrupted by Bhishma's cough.

Bhishma: Okay. Time granted. Inform me when both of you are ready.

And sabha was over. And then youngsters ran towards Duryodhana's chamber to meet and spend time with dushala and Yuyutsu.....

Again our beloved Morpankh dhari was happy. The changes are slow and small. But surely noticeable. And now the new destiny was in writing.....

Dekhte hai ab kya parinam nikalta hai...

'Rome Rome mai current dodh raha hai re baba' he thought.

And again the melodious tune of his flute prevailed.
