Y/n wasn't sure about the audition she didn't like the idea. That afternoon, she wrote the news for the school newspaper. After that, she went to the ice cream shop with Marisa and Liam.

Y/n took her favorite ice cream and sat on a bench out of the shop, in front of the park, with Marisa on her right and Liam on her left. They looked at the people who were walking. That was their routine: school, ice cream shop and stalking people.

"Why are we always here?" Asked Liam, licking his ice cream
"I think y/n has the answer" Said Marisa
Y/n smiled.
"It's our routine, we go to school, we sucks and then we come here to eat ice cream to feel better and talk about our messy life"
Marisa nodded.

"So, what about Charlie?"
Y/n sighed.
"What? You know, he is into Sarah, completely"
"Why don't you do something to have him in your life? Not like a best friend but more" Asked the boy
"Liam please, it's hard... He sees me like his little sister"
Marisa got up.
"You should do the casting, he would notice you"
Y/n sighed.
"Guys, thank you but... I don't think it will work. I'm y/n, only y/n. I'm not someone special"
"Yes, you are! Y/n, you helped us in high school. Do you remember when we were in detention? You punched the boy who bullied Liam and you didn't even know Liam yet. So when I saw you in detention for defending my cousin, I said to myself 'She is different, she is cool, she will do great things'"
Liam nodded and y/n smiled.
"Thanks guys"

After a while, y/n's gaze fell on the same people that saw every day. The same old man with his walking stick, a young couple running into the park and a young girl with her dog. Y/n smiled.
"I lied before"
Liam looked at her.
"We come here everyday because we see the same things everyday, the things that give us stability. We go to school and everything sucks, all change. But here we see things that last over time. Sometimes we think that we can change and separate, but come here and see the same people for years let us know that we won't change, we are a part of something that is stable"
Marisa smiled and looked at Liam.
"I told you, she knew why"

That afternoon, when she come back home, saw her brother with two of his friends. Y/n smiled.
"Carolynn!"
The girl smiled and opened her arms, so y/n threw herself between them.
"Hey sweetie, I missed you so much"
The boy looked at the two girls and crossed his arms.
"Hey, I want a hug too"
Y/n smiled and hugged him.
"Sorry Jeremy, but I love your girlfriend"
"Well... We have news..."
Owen and y/n looked at them, confused.
Jeremy grabbed Carolynn's hand.
"We will get married"
Y/n was so happy.
"Yes!"
"And you will be the maid of honor"

Owen and Jeremy were talking in the living room while y/n and Carolynn where in the kitchen, making dinner.
"Can you set the table?"
Y/n nodded and grabbed four plates.
"Oh no wait, there will be another person"
She frowned.
"Who?"
"Charlie"
"Nonono, everyone but not him"
Carolynn laughed.
"Why? I thought you loved him"
"I do, but he's dating with a perfect girl, even if she is evil"

Carolynn was like a older sister for y/n. She told her all her secrets, including her crush for Charlie.
After a while, the doorbell rang.
"Y/n, can you open the door please?"
She nodded and went to the living room to open the door.

"Hey cinnamon roll" He smiled
"Charlie... H- Hi!"
Owen and Jeremy looked at him.
"Charlie!"
"Hey guys!"
He walked towards them and sat on the sofa, talking to them.

When dinner was ready, everyone sat on the table.
"I missed our dinners together" Said Charlie, smiling.
Y/n looked at his perfect smile and sighed. She wanted to tell that the reason was because he spent a lot of time with his girlfriend and not with his friends anymore, but she didn't want to sound jealous.

"I might take Sarah next time, she is so amazing, you will like her"
"Yeah, she is a fan of Hannah Montana" Said y/n sarcastic, making Carolynn laugh
"Charlie, we have a news for you"
"What?"
"Carolynn and I will get married"
The boy smiled.
"That's amazing! Jeremy, remember to treat her right"
"I know man"
"You two are perfect together, I also wanted to ask Sarah to marry me, even if we have been together for a few months"
Y/n spat out the water that she was drinking.
Carolynn looked at her, worried, and the same did the others.
Her heart was in million pieces.
"I- I have homework to do, I just remembered this"
She got up from the chair and ran into her room.
Owen looked at her, understanding the situation.

"What's wrong?" Asked Charlie, confused.
Carolynn sighed.
"Give her time to process the news. I don't think she is ready to lose her best friend, even if you don't spend much time with her anymore, she cares about you"
Charlie sighed.
"Yeah you are right, I'm the worst best friend in the world"

Y/n put her face on the pillow. She wanted to scream but she cried instead. She didn't want Charlie to get marry with Sarah, it was painful. After a good cry, she got up and started to study.

After the dinner, someone knocked at her door.
"Come in"
A boy opened the door.
"Hey shawty"
Y/n looked at him, surprised.
"Charlie, what are you doing here?"
"I'm sorry for being a terrible best friend" Said sitting on the bed next to her.
"You aren't"
"Yes, Carolynn made me realize that I don't spend as much time with you as I used to, I don't want you to feel bad"
She smiled and put her hand on his.
"It's okay, I understand... You have your friends, your life..."
"Cinnamon roll, you are the best part of my life, I don't want to neglect you. I want to fix our relationship"
Y/n blushed and nodded.

Charlie smiled and took the flyer of the school musical.
"Will you do the audition?"
"Oh no"
"I think you should"
"Really? I think Sarah will be perfect for this role"
"Trust me, she is a great actress but your voice is amazing. Do you remember when we were children and I played guitar while you were singing?"
Y/n giggled
"Yeah, we were a perfect duo"
"And when you did fashion shows in the living room?"
"Yes, I forced you to dance with me"
Charlie looked at her.
"To be honest, you never forced me, I liked it. Anyway, if you want I can be there during your audition, to help you"
Y/n smiled.
"Would you really do it?"
"Of course, you are my little sister, I will aways be by your side"
He ruffled her hair and left.
"See you tomorrow, cinnamon roll"
