Jesse sat on a chair next to the bed in S.T.A.R Labs' med-bay where Haylee lay pale connected to different machines as her chest rose and fell haphazardly. "Anything?" Cisco asked as he walked into the room, a frown on his face as he looked down at his best friend. "Nothing... I don't even think she can hear me," Jesse told Cisco without removing his gaze from his younger sister. "Where's Barry?" Cisco asked Jesse, he expected the meta-hero to be right by Haylee's side yet he was nowhere to be seen.

"He's with Iris and Joe, they're both worried and I knew he'd be the best person to reassure them," Jesse explained with a sigh before looking at Cisco, "I also knew that Haylee wouldn't want anyone hanging around moping when there are threats in the city." Cisco nodded in agreement before grabbing Haylee's hand, he furrowed his brows before looking up at Jesse. "When did her temperature drop?" Cisco asked with worried eyes. "While you were out due to the bee sting," Jesse answered.

"What do you think is happening?" Cisco asked Jesse as the two watched Haylee's chest rise and fall, despite the machines, it was the only thing that assured the two that she was still alive and okay. "I have no idea. But... growing up, Haylee hated others worrying about her and she would... hide any signs of her feeling unwell but it was still easy to tell and I... ignored the signs focused on Iris and my jealously... and now," Jesse trailed off as he wiped a tear from his cheek.

"We'll find an answer, we always do," Cisco said, though he wasn't sure if he was convincing Jesse or himself. Suddenly, the machines began beeping signalling that Haylee was flatlining. "Haylee!" Jesse shouted as he and Cisco got the defibrillator ready. "Three... two... one... go!" Cisco told Jesse, the older Brager pressed the paddles on her chest, sending a shock through her chest. Dr Wells and Caitlin made their way into the room, Caitlin's eyes began to water as Jesse shocked her again.

"Come on..." Dr Wells muttered as he watched closely, the urge to get up and send a shock of electricity through her similar to when Barry shocked Cisco was beginning to drown him out. Barry sped into the room and Jesse moved aside allowing the meta-hero to use his own electricity to produce a shock, thankfully her heart fell back into a steady rhythm allowing everyone a chance to breathe. "I don't understand what's happening to her," Caitlin told everyone as she wiped the tears from her cheeks, Jesse giving her a hug.

"Dr Wells, what can we do?" Jesse asked, his distrust of the man was present but he had to have the answers to save her, especially after he spent so much time keeping her alive. "We can run a few more tests but I'm afraid that we may have to wait until she wakes up herself," Dr Wells expressed sadly, he was angry with himself for having no answers in regards to her condition. Joe and Eddie walked into the Cortex, Joe instanly swallowed carefully as he walked over and grabbed her hand in his.

"You gotta come back to us, Haylee. We all need you," Joe whispered to Haylee before looking at Barry, the Flash stared down at Haylee with a blank expression before walking out of the room. Eddie made his way over to the spare seat and sat down, reaching for Haylee's hand to hold in his. "Could really use some words of inspiration from you, Haylee... So you gotta wake up," Eddie told her as Joe followed after Barry, Jesse letting out a breath knowing what Barry was about to do.

"You think she's in pain?" Eddie asked with a sad expression on his face. "I don't know, I'd hope not," Caitlin answered as she rested her hand on Joe's shoulder. "I just wish there was more I could do to help her," Eddie told the others within the room. "Eddie, I think if anyone could help her, it'd be Dr Wells," Joe stated before looking toward the scientist. "I, unfortunately, haven't found the reasoning for her state," Dr Wells informed Joe sadly before wheeling out of the room.

Joe and Eddie left the lab after some time with Haylee, they knew she was in safe hands while they dealt with getting rid of their potential threat that is Reverse-Flash and his connection to Harrison Wells. "We gotta go," Jesse called to Caitlin and Cisco, the two nodded before Caitlin made her way over. "I'll be a moment," Cisco told Caitlin, the woman looked from Haylee to Cisco with a sympathetic smile before leaving the room with Jesse. Cisco let out a breath before sitting by the bed and grabbing Haylee's hand in his own.

"Lee, I hope you can hear me right now... I just─I need you to know that this is a major cliche but..." Cisco whispered to him before letting a tear fall, "You gotta wake up for us. We need you, Haylee Brager. I need you, my best friend, my partner in crime... my sister. Please, just, don't make us wait to long." Cisco kissed Haylee's forehead before making his way out of the room, so distracted by his very own thoughts, he missed the slight crackle of electricity that formed upon Haylee's body.

"Alright, why did you drag us here, Jesse? Shouldn't we be focusing on Haylee?" Cisco asked the mentioned Brager as they walked into Barry's lab where Joe and Barry were currently waiting for them. "What's going on?" Caitlin asked as she looked from Jesse to Barry and Joe. "This is everything we know about my mother's murder and The Reverse-Flash. I've been gathering information on him for a long time," Barry told them as he pointed at the crime board in front of him.

"And this is everything we know about Dr Wells," Barry added as he pulled the string to reveal more newspaper clippings and documents about Dr Harrison Wells. "I don't understand. What do Dr Wells and the Reverse-Flash have to do with each other?" Caitlin asked Barry while Cisco stayed silent. "Um... They're the same person," Jesse answered Caitlin as he leaned back against the table. "That's impossible," Caitlin replied back to Jesse before looking at Barry, she was worried about him due to Haylee's condition.

"Look, Caitlin, it took me a long time to believe it too, but it's him. Jesse and Haylee have been looking into it longer than us," Barry explained to Caitlin as he glanced at Jesse who nodded in agreement with his words. "Dr Wells is a speedster? He's paralysed," Caitlin reminded them like it was the golden answer. "Is he, though?" Joe asked her. "And why would he kill Barry's mother? It doesn't make any sense," Caitlin asked with a shrug. "Unless Nora wasn't the target," Jesse replied to her.

"Cisco. Say something," Caitlin expressed as she looked at the mentioned man. "I've been having these dreams. Mostly at night, but sometimes during the day. But they don't really feel like dreams," Cisco explained as his mind played them like a movie, Harrison Wells driving his vibrating hand through Haylee's chest after she saved him from imminent death. "They─they feel real," Cisco added as he looked up at Barry, his eyes beginning to water.

"What happens in the dream?" Barry asks him softly as he crosses his arms, he was using this as a distraction from Haylee's condition. "Dr Wells is the Reverse-Flash. And... he tries to kill me," Cisco answered as a tear fell down his cheek. "Tries?" Caitlin asked as Joe stood up from his seated position. "Haylee's there too... she, uh, saves me by swapping our places with her glitch abilities... and she, uh, dies," Cisco explained causing the entire room to go silent.

"We're gonna find the answers, Haylee... I promise you that we will," Jesse told his sister as he sat next to her. "I never thought I'd see this," Vincent Brager spoke as he walked into the room causing Jesse to jump up. "Not very smart to show up here," Jesse warned him. "Relax son, I mean no harm. I'm not one to anger this so-called Reverse-Flash again," Vincent spoke as he looked around the room. "What are you talking about?" Jesse asked with furrowed brows. "I had a visit from Flash's nemesis, he took my abilities from me," Vincent spoke with malice.

"So, your humanly average now?" Jesse asked with a raised brow, he didn't trust the man. "Yes, it turns out... your precious sister here, my only daughter, Magnolia─" Vincent was cut off by Jesse, "It's Haylee." Vincent rolled his eyes as he stood opposite Jesse, looking down at his pale daughter. "Right... Haylee is very important to this Reverse-Flash and any harm that comes to her seems to face a punishment worse than death," Vincent finished off his explanation before holding out two envelopes.

"What's that?" Jesse asked him with a look of distrust. "Relax, they're just letters for you and Haylee. It's not explosive," Vincent said with an eye roll as Jesse took the envelopes. "Don't read them yet, you'll know when to read them... Anyway, this is me saying goodbye," Vincent expressed before placing a delicate kiss on Haylee's forehead. "I wish you both all the best, Jesse," Vincent told his son, full honesty and love in his eyes before he left the room. Jesse leaned back in his seat looking down at the envelopes, he had no idea what to make of that moment.

"Where's Barry?" Eddie asked as he sat down on the couch with a beer in hand. "He should be here any second. I sent him out for..." Joe trailed off as Barry flashed into the room with pizza from Coast City. "Pizza!" Barry cheered as Cisco walked into the room with Jesse. "What?" Cisco asked with a smile, he and Jesse instantly reached for a slice. "From Coast City?" Jesse asked, he missed his life in Coast City where he didn't have to worry about meta-humans but he knew his sister needed him.

"Supposedly the best in the west," Barry stated with Jesse nodding in agreement with him, the male Brager could definitely agree with that. "Okay, six months of investigating Harrison Wells has led us nowhere, so we're going back to the beginning to see what we can find out," Joe told everyone before sipping his beer. "What does that mean?" Caitlin asked from her seat on the stairs. "Road trip, baby," Cisco cheered happily. "Joe and Cisco are going to go to Starling City," Barry explained.

"Starling City? What for?" Caitlin asked, she still had her doubts about Harrison being Reverse-Flash. "To investigate the car accident that Dr Wells was in with Tess Morgan fifteen years ago," Joe answered the woman. "I... I don't understand. Why?" Caitlin asked with furrowed brows. "Dr McGee said that after Well's accident, he became like a complete stranger. Just a different person entirely," Barry explained to Caitlin. "Because the love of his life died?" Caitlin asked.

"You of all people can understand how grief can change a person," Caitlin expressed further. "Caitlin, we believe that Dr Wells is Reverse-Flash and killed Barry's mother, and he may have done the same thing to Tess Morgan," Joe explained to Caitlin hoping that she could give them a chance to look into everything. "We have to learn everything we can about that night. See where it leads us," Jesse added as he ran his fingers through his hair.

"Oh, um, can you cover for me with Dr Wells?" Cisco asked Caitlin who looked like she was against what they were planning. "You mean lie?" Caitlin asked as Jesse and Barry shared a look with each other. "Yeah," Cisco answered back, he wished Haylee was there 'cause she would be able to convince Caitlin to work with them. "I need some air," Caitlin told the others before making her way out of the house leaving the others alone. "She'll help us, right?" Eddie asked Jesse who sighed. "Caitlin will make the right choice, she always does," Jesse assured.

Her arms flail beside her body as she falls endlessly through the void of abyss, blue and yellow electricity crackle side by side in a battle of chaos and dominance. Her eyes clamped shut as pain seared through her body, the pulsing of foreign power caused her to grit her teeth to prevent the screams of torment and pain. The further she falls... the further she fades ─ And her time is running thin.

I've been feeling bad about my lack of updates and for leaving you on the previous cliffhanger so I decided I'd post another chapter!

Will they be able to save Haylee?

Also, should I do some flashback scenes from Jesse's perspective from previous chapters while I'm writing his pov... Or focus on the story itself? Let me know!
